At the end of the rugby season he joined the Tauranga Rowing Club, being elected a member on 26 September at their AGM . In 1926 Iles represented Tauranga against Hamilton. He continued to play for the Cadets Old Boys club . He played for Tauranga against Whakatane soon after. The year was to end sadly for Iles though as his father Albert collapsed and died while playing bowls on the Tauranga South bowling green December 8, 1926.

Ashby was born in Devonport on Auckland's North Shore in 1928, the son of Catherine Adele (née Gozar) and Edward Ashby, and the older brother of Murray Ashby. From 1943 to 1946 Ashby was educated at Mount Albert Grammar School, where he was a prefect, captain of the rowing team and member of the 1st XV rugby union team. He played senior club rugby for the Grammar Old Boys club. He was married to swimmer Winifred Griffin.

The reserve boat, Granta, raced Oxford's equivalent, Nephthys, from 2000 until 2007 and restarted racing Oxford in recent years. For a brief period in 1999 - 2002 there was an active old boys club "Farmer" whose finest race was beating the 1999 Nephthys crew by 2L. In April 2020 it was agreed that CULRC would combine with the openweight men's club CUBC and the women's club CUWBC into one club. The merger took place on 1 August 2020.

Despite being one of Montevideo's youngest clubs, Old Christians have achieved remarkable success on the national scene, winning their first national title only six years after the club's creation. Since then the club has become a powerhouse of Uruguayan rugby, winning the Campeonato Uruguayo de Rugby 19 times, the most recent one in 2017. There have only been two players selected for the All Blacks whilst playing their club rugby in North Otago. In 1965 and 1966 Ian (Spooky) Smith, who played for the Old Boys Club was selected for tests against South Africa and Campbell Lamberton's Lions. Kurow's Phil Gard was selected for the All Blacks in 1971 when he played the fourth and final test against the British Lions and was on the All Blacks 1972 internal tour.

Devine originally played rugby union for the Marist Old Boys club in Canterbury. However, Marist Old Boys were expelled from the Canterbury Rugby Union in April 1924 after they forfeited a Payne Cup fixture in 1923 due to a row over the eligibility of three players. They instead joined the Canterbury Rugby League and Devine followed, converting to rugby league. In his first season, he was one of six Marist players who were selected for New Zealand.

Born and raised in the town of Nelson on New Zealand's South Island, Lowe is of Māori and English descent and affiliates to the Ngāpuhi and Ngāi Te Rangi iwi. Lowe attended high school at Nelson College where in addition to playing rugby, he was a junior and senior schools athletics champion and also represented New Zealand Under-15s at basketball. After leaving high school, he began playing local club rugby with the Waimea Old Boys club.

Tupou played his first game for the Brothers Old Boys club in 2015, in a trial match alongside his 25-year-old brother Criff Tupou. After completing the full 2015 season in Queensland Premier Rugby with Brothers, he joined Queensland Country to play in the National Rugby Championship. After playing for Queensland Under-20 in 2016, he made his debut for the Reds in 2016. Tupou toured as a development player in the Australian national squad for the 2016 Wallabies tour.

Its original site was in Church Road in central Croydon, occupying the modest buildings of the Croydon Poor School which dated from 1858. In 1931 it moved to its second site in North End in Croydon. After years of confusion with Whitgift School, in 1954 Whitgift Middle School was renamed Trinity School of John Whitgift. However the school's Old Boys' Club was still known as the Old Mid-Whitgiftians until early 2010, when a vote was taken to change the name to the Trinity Mid- Whitgiftian Association.

The Hutt Old Boys Club founded in 1967 played for many years in a gold jersey with green shorts and gold and green socks, but returned in the 1990s to the red and white of the previous Hutt club before adding green on amalgamation with Hutt Valley Marist. Hutt Valley Marist's strip was green, white, and maroon. HOBM has won Wellington's premier rugby trophy, the Jubilee Cup, several times. Hutt won in 1931 and 1934, Hutt OB in 1991, and HOBM in 2007 and 2014.

Upon leaving school, Wainui was contracted by the Taranaki Rugby Football Union. In his first year out of school he was a part of Taranaki's 2014 national provincial championship squad. He was spotted by coach Colin Cooper and had signed with Taranaki at just 18-years-old after an impressive season, not only for his New Plymouth Old Boys club but for the Chiefs development side also. Wainui made his debut for Taranaki in the 2014 ITM Cup competition, coming on as a replacement against Waikato.

Alastair MacGregor Martin played his club rugby for his school's old boys club, the Old Mackayans Rugby Football Club, and led them to national cup wins on 1978, 1981 and 1982. For Chile, he first faced the Pumas in 1977 and by 1979 was captain of his national side. He was also part of the 1980 South American Jaguars side that toured South Africa. Notably, in 1980 he also played for a World XV on 9 August 1980 against in Buenos Aires, losing 36-22.

Club president Daniel Juan chartered a Uruguayan Air Force twin turboprop Fairchild FH-227D to fly the team over the Andes to Santiago. The aircraft carried 40 passengers and 5 crew members. Colonel Julio César Ferradas was an experienced Air Force pilot who had a total of 5,117 flying hours.

An old boy network (also known as old boys' network, old boys' club, or old boys' society) can refer to social and business connections among former pupils of male-only elite schools. The term originated from much of the British upper-class having attended certain public schools as boys, thus former pupils are "old boys". This can apply to the network between the graduates of a single school regardless of their gender. It is also known as an old boys' society and is similar to an alumni association.

Santiago Vilaseca (born 17 September 1984 in Montevideo), is an Uruguayan rugby union player. He currently plays a Lock for the Old Boys Club in the Campeonato Uruguayo de Rugby.Santiago Vilaseca Profile Vilaseca, represents the Uruguayan national team and has captained the side on many occasions, most notably during the 2015 Rugby World Cup. Having earned 32 caps for his country, on 30 August 2015 he was selected to captain Uruguay into their first World Cup campaign in 12 years, the last being during the 2003 Rugby World Cup.

He scored 212 for the Old Boys club in a match of senior Wellington club cricket in December 1917. He made his first-class debut for Wellington against Canterbury a few days later, taking three wickets in each innings and batting in the tail. The next season, when the Plunket Shield resumed, he took 5 for 50 against Canterbury, combining with Syd Hiddleston to dismiss Canterbury for 163 in the first innings, but was expensive and wicketless in the second innings when Canterbury scored 303 for 3 and won by seven wickets.

The first woman appointed as a permanent judge of the Court of Session was Hazel Cosgrove, in 1996. She was followed by Ann Paton in 2000, and in November 2001 by Anne Smith. Smith's appointment followed a controversy earlier that year when she and Leeona Dorrian QC were passed over in favour of men; but with only three women out of 32 judges, the Scottish courts were still labelled by The Scotsman newspaper as an "old boys' club". The appointment in early 2005 of Leeona Dorrian raised the number of women judges to four.

The Marist Old Boys club added yet another trophy to their season haul with their reserve grade team winning the Stallard Cup (awarded to the reserve grade knockout winners) when they beat Devonport Reserves by 12–6 in the final. The representative program was marked by a match between Auckland and the touring England team. In a very competitive match Auckland went down by 14 to 19. Aside from this fixture Auckland only played matches against South Auckland where they won 29 to 13, and Lower Waikato in Huntly where they won 35–8.

The Fainting Club is a members-only supper club for women, founded in 2014 by artist Zoe Crosher. Described as an "old boys' club, for girls", it celebrates and draws creative women from multiple disciplines—artists, writers, filmmakers, chefs, musicians—and welcomes any and all like-minded souls. Started in Los Angeles and based on the knowledge that strong, interesting and intelligent women are more powerful as a group, the club has begun to expand internationally. It now has chapters worldwide including in New York, Mexico City, London, Berlin, Paris and Hong Kong.

The team is an amalgamation of the Wellington College Old Boys' club and the Victoria University of Wellington rugby union club. They are commonly referred to as OBU. The team's jerseys are bottle green and white hoops with a black patch and gold numbers, reflecting the colours of the two teams who merged to form the club. OBU's alternate strip is a black jersey with a harlequin front panel consisting of the four colours of the two clubs: black and white from WCOB, and green and yellow from VUWRFC.

Four years later at the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver he again won a silver medal, this time in the men's coxed four. Competing for Auckland's West End Rowing Club, in crews with his brother Kerry, Ashby won New Zealand national championship titles in the men's eights in 1949, 1951, 1952, 1953 and 1963, the men's coxed four in 1953 and the men's double sculls in 1956. Ashby was also an accomplished rugby union player for the Grammar Old Boys club, and was a member of the teams that won the Gallaher Shield in 1951 and 1953.

Silhillians RUFC are located at the Memorial Ground in Copt Heath near Solihull. Although the site is skirted to the south and east by rural land it is only 150 yards from the M42 motorway and the easy access has made Silhillians a popular fixture for touring teams or as a pre-season friendly. The rugby club share the Memorial Clubhouse with the Old Silhillians Association (OSA), the old boys' club of Solihull School. The building houses a gymnasium, squash courts, changing facilities, a rifle range, a function room, a members' bar and administration offices for the rugby club and OSA.

Brewer, aside from playing rugby for his school, was also an important figure in the Gipsies Football Club. This now long disbanded club, was prominent in the early days of rugby union and was one of the twenty one founding clubs of the Rugby Football Union. The club had been founded by three Old Tonbridgians and was ostensibly an unofficial Old Boys club for Tonbridge School. However, J V Brewer was elected to the initial committee of the Gipsies in 1868 at the age of just fifteen and he was also the only committee member to not hail from Tonbridge School.

The Broad Street Old Boys' Rugby Club was founded in 1929 by former and current pupils of the Broad Street School in Broad Street, Foleshill, Coventry. The club's history goes back even further to when Broad Street School was opened in 1911. It was many years later that the club decided drop the "old boys'" title and merge the two words to become one and known as Broadstreet Rugby Club. It was after winning the Coventry FC Shield in 1929 the old boys' club was formed with the help of the school sports master 'Pop' H T Suddens.

Upon completing his tertiary education in 1958 Graham moved to Christchurch and took up a permanent teaching position at Christchurch Boys' High School. He joined the Christchurch High School Old Boys club rugby team and was immediately made captain, remaining so for the rest of his time there. The same year he was selected for the All Blacks for the first two tests against Australia, making his debut on 23 August in Wellington and helping his team to a 25–3 victory. In 1959 Graham withdrew from the All Black trials, but in 1960 was selected to tour South Africa.

Grown up in the St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace, Biographies : Mark McBain McBain practiced rugby union in the Brothers Old Boys club. In 1981, he debuted for the Queensland representative team during a match which saw the State team playing against an Italy XV, won 68-11; Biographies : Mark McBain in 1983, McBain debuted for Australia, also against Italy, at Rovigo, won 29-7. He also took part at the 1987 Rugby World Cup where he played only the pool stage match against Japan, and played his last international match .two years later, against the British Lions in tour.

Kofu Club (1965–1994) The club was founded in 1965 when the old boys' club of Kofu Dai-ichi High School, the Kakujo Club, started to recruit graduates of other high schools with the intention of promotion to the Japan Soccer League. The club joined the newly formed JSL Division 2 in 1972. They stayed there until the conclusion of the league in 1992 when it became a founding member of the former Japan Football League. Kofu Club was formed by volunteers, unlike other mainstream football clubs at that time in Japan, whose players were mostly the employees of their sponsoring companies.

Their inaugural game against a Bath XV team was played on the Recreation Ground to which Calne returned in the late 1970s as a permanent home, which despite ground disputes and uncertainty – remains their home to date. It appears that a lack of local interest forced the club to fold in the late 1930s however, in 1960 the club was re-formed as Old Bentlians, though it was not exclusively an "old boys" club it did use the pitches at Bentley Grammar School. The club currently fields a 1st and 2nd XV, alternating home games on Saturdays, and also a junior team who play on Sundays.

Clifton Rugby Football Club History Old Boys clubs for former pupils of certain schools emerged towards the end of the 1860s, such as the Marlborough Nomads which served Marlborough College. However, Ravenscourt Park was not considered to be an Old Boys club, rather a club that played rugby and therefore attracted old boys of Rugby School. In December 1872, Bell's Life referred to Blackheath, the Gipsies, and Ravenscourt Park, as being the three crack clubs. Among its many opponents were Blackheath FC, Richmond F.C., Oxford and Cambridge Universities, The Gipsies, Marlborough Nomads, Woolwich, Sandhurst, Cooper's Hill, St. Andrews Rovers, Clapham Rovers, and West Kent.

The US right-wing populist Sarah Palin for instance referred to herself as a "hockey mom" and a "mama grizzly", while Australian right-wing populist Pauline Hanson stated that "I care so passionately about this country, it's like I'm its mother. Australia is my home and the Australian people are my children." Populist leaders typically portray themselves as outsiders who are separate from the "elite". Female populist leaders sometimes reference their gender as setting them apart from the dominant "old boys' club", while in Latin America a number of populists, such as Evo Morales and Alberto Fujimori, emphasised their non-white ethnic background to set them apart from the white-dominated elite.

In 1894 they were invited to join the newly formed Southern League along with a number of team including fellow old boys club Old Westminsters. James Hislop Parker passport application (1924) Educated at Christchurch Boys' High School, Parker played rugby union there, and during 1915 and 1916 he was a member of the Christchurch Old Boys club. During his war service in the Middle East, he played for the New Zealand Machinegun Squadron team, which also included players such as Jock Richardson, and Cyril and Maurice Brownlie. Following the war, he first represented the provincial team in 1920, playing both as a loose forward and wing three- quarter. Owing to work pressures and the malaria that he had contracted during the war, Parker did not appear for Canterbury again until the 1923 season, when he played in six matches.

In 2000 and 2004Axe threat to historic club, Crosby Herald, 14 October 2004 Merseyside Police raised objections to the continuance of the club on the grounds that it was 'improperly run' and for 'blatant disregard' of the licensing laws. Simultaneously, the former club trustees found themselves being sued by their landlords for £72,000 of unpaid rent dating back to 2005.

Eltham AFC also joined the WTL with Wanganui East, Castlecliff and Hawera, increasing the WTL to a 26-game league. The league extended from April 3 to late September with Chatham Cup matches and other competitions entered played when possible. The Taranaki Football Co. agreement lasted until 1982 when the New Plymouth Old Boys club bought out the Taranaki United identity and its position in the Central League as a limited company. In 1983 Central re-entered Central League Three under the New Plymouth City AFC name. Taranaki United existed until the end of the 1984 season when the team was relegated from Central League One starting 1985 in Central League Two as New Plymouth Old Boys.

It also became a local Sports Centre for Hitchin and Hertfordshire, allowing for fitness, badminton, basketball and volleyball sessions among other sports. Conferences are also allowed in the Centre's theory classrooms as well as small individual rooms. In the late 1980s, the School's hockey/cricket pitch (but not the rugby pitch on the hill) on the top of the grounds (on Butts Close near Wilshere Dacre School, and which was unreliable, particularly for the hockey players) was converted into an all- weather pitch for the benefit of hockey, complete with floodlights. The pitch is used for clubs and groups to hire for events and training; one example is that of the local hockey club Blueharts (which was originally started as the Old Boys' club).

Thwaites proved to be a highly competent intelligence officer and encouraged more analytical recruitment policies. On 28 July 2017, the Chief Fire Officer, Kevin Pearson was suspended following the publication of a report from the Home Office on an investigation into how the service is run, citing that it was being run as an "old boys' club", and that Pearson had been "unchallenged and not held properly to account for too long". Deputy Chief Fire Officer Lorraine Houghton was also suspended. The service is governed by the Avon Fire Authority, which has a total of 25 councillors from the four councils within the region. Following the suspension of Pearson, the board met on 2 August 2017 to discuss what changes needed to be made and how the authority should be governed in the future, but no conclusion was reached.

Mathias Entenmann is a retired German rugby player, who played flank and No. 8 for the German national team from 1988 to 1998.” 100 Jahre Deutscher Rugby- Verband”, Claus-Peter Bach, 2000 He also played for the Germany sevens team, which enjoyed some successes in the 1990s. Entenmann was a member of German teams which competed in Rugby World Cup qualification matches and the erstwhile FIRA Tournaments. He was also part of the Germany sevens squads, which won the Bowl final of the 1990 Hong Kong Sevens, reached the Plate Final of the 1997 Punta Del Este Sevens,10 anos de Seven en Punta del Este, Pedro Bordaberry, British Schools Old Boys Club, 1999 and won the Bowl Final of the 1997 Paris Sevens.

The school has an "old boys" club known casually as Instonians and formally as the Belfast Old Instonians Association (BOIA). At present the Rugby, Golf and Cricket section of the club are open for all to join, whilst the Hockey club is still open to past members of the school only. Originally set up as an "old boys" only club, the sports club was opened up to the public in response to the notable flow of Instonians to Great Britain for further education, many of whom did not return to Northern Ireland. This led to fears that the club would die out as current members grew older but were replaced by less and less 'new blood', owing to the dwindling number of Instonians choosing to remain in Northern Ireland.

Richards was born in Durban, Natal Province, Union of South Africa and attended Clifton Preparatory School and the Durban High School and for many years played club cricket for DHS Old Boys' Club. He played in the Natal Nuffield week side from 1961 to 1964, and for South African schools from 1962 to 1964, scoring a century against the Western Province first-class team. The national selectors had their eyes on him early, and he played for a South African Colts XI against the touring MCC side in 1964–65, scoring 63, and later in the tour for an Invitation XI. When the Australians toured in 1966–67, he scored 107 in 160 minutes for a strong South African XI against them before the First Test, but despite several failures by the top-order batsmen in the Test series, he was unable to break into the national side.
