Ohs was best known for his role in peacefully ending the Montana Freeman standoff near Jordan, Montana. In 1996, asked for help by a former ranch hand whose daughter and granddaughter were inside, Ohs served as principal negotiator making 19 separate trips into the Freeman compound. His involvement earned him the 1998 The Louis E. Peters Memorial Service Award given by the FBI for public service.

Originally the focus of the society was on 18th and 19th-century tracker organs but in recent years there has been a significant expansion of interest in early-to-mid-20th century electropneumatic church and concert-hall organs. Houle's 30-year interest in Forest Park in Portland culminated in a wildlife and vegetation study that the Oregon Historical Society (OHS) published in 1988 as One City's Wilderness: Portland's Forest Park. Olympia High School opened in 1882 as additional public schooling beyond 1-8 curriculum, and graduated its first class in 1886. OHS shared a few locations with elementary schools before having its own building in 1907, when OHS became officially named William Winlock Miller School, a high school. The 1907 building was built on a square block donated by the widow of pioneer leader William Winlock Miller on ground immediately east of the today's sunken gardens, part of the Washington State Capitol Campus. That building burned in 1918, its Tenino sandstone was salvaged in 1920 to construct the face of the Power House on Capitol Lake, used to heat Washington's permanent capitol campus that proceeded in construction.

Goldschmidt submitted a Form B resignation, which was received by the bar on May 13, where he says that he is aware that he would not be eligible for readmission. Following complaints from local media over limited access to Goldschmidt's public papers stored at the Oregon Historical Society (OHS), the state archivist announced May 29 that Goldschmidt would seize the 256 boxes of documents to guarantee public access as defined in a state law passed in 1973. For the 2014-2015 school year, 38% of 12th-graders took at least one AP exam at any point during high school, and 57% of AP exams taken were passed (received a score of 3 or higher). OHS offers foreign language classes in Spanish, French, and Italian, as well as American Sign Language classes. 9% of the OHS student population were English Language Learners in 2017, and the school has received acclaim from the National Education Policy Center (NEPC) for its academic programs to help this population. On the final day of classes at OHS the principal died of a heart attack at his desk, after serving 31 years as the school's only principal at that location. South Orlando chose the name of William R. Boone High School in his honor. In 1987 the building was repurposed as Howard Middle School.

In 1893 it published a pamphlet that listed the best annuals, perennials, and vegetables for the Ottawa region. In November 2019 RAFFWU organised their first training session for McDonalds activists. The weekend focused around tackling OHS issues in the workplace. In 2019 RAFFWU member Chiara Stains with the support of RAFFWU commenced litigation against Tantex holdings for breach of numerous workplace and human rights. The community is founded around a mill that produced energy for the iron production from 1600. In 1893, it was converted to a paper pulp factory, which operated until 1978. At the old factory site there is now a museum.

In the post-war era, when Oshawa began building other high schools, OCVI was renamed O'Neill Collegiate and Vocational Institute after long-time principal, Albert O'Neill, who had led its expansion and transition to collegiate status. O'Neill celebrated its 75th anniversary (as OCVI, though it is actually much older if the OHS days are included) in 2005 with a mural in the library and a reunion of students and teachers.

In his 33-year tenure beginning in 1967, Rux led Oconomowoc to 216 victories. He oversaw ten conference titles, including a trip to the Division 1 state finals in 1987. He was inducted into the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1999, the year of his retirement. In 2014, the OHS football stadium was renovated and renamed; it is now known as the Ed Rux Stadium.

The main parking lots and the ceramics building were demolished in the summer of 2007. New parking lots for faculty and visitors were built on the north end facing 28th Street, and the south end in the former 29th Street corridor. For the next year, classes were held in the old Opelika Public School building, until a new structure could be built on the same grounds. With the new building, Opelika High School was renamed in 1918 Henry G. Clift High School, after the then- mayor of Opelika. Opelika High School football started in 1922, with OHS falling to Alexander City (today Benjamin Russell) 71–0 in both schools' first-ever game.

The OHS debate team has been helping students since 1914 in teaching responsibility, research skills, and different communicative skills. Throughout the season the team competes in public forum debate; competing in various tournaments including annual competitions at Dowling-Catholic and the Districts competitions. Compared to other years the team is attending more tournaments and has implemented an extra Monday practice for novices to help them get to know the sport.

Alta Corbett helped launch the drive for the funds necessary for the erection of Oregon Historical Society Building with a financial donation in memory of her husband, Elliott R. Corbett. The present OHS Building at 1200 SW Park Avenue is on the site which her late husband had helped acquire. Flashback Records is a record label and a chain of independent record stores in London. It specializes in trading vinyl records with an emphasis on rare collectable records such as first pressings and hard to find releases. It also stocks new contemporary vinyl and has hosted live performances by Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) as well as UK bands such as Mazes, Fair Ohs, Dead Coast, Virgin Kids, Veronica Falls and Shopping.

As of the 2018-2019 school year, Ossining High School offers 41 college-level classes, mainly in partnership with the University at Albany, SUNY (SUNY) and Westchester Community College (WCC), although a few are also offered in partnership with Iona College (New York), SUNY at Oneonta, and Syracuse University. Labeled the "SUNY Early College Program," they allow OHS students who plan to attend SUNY or WCC schools to complete a significant portion of their college curriculum at OHS. A notable SUNY class offered is "SUNY Racism, Classism, and Sexism," started in 2005 with the intention of drawing more nonwhite students to advanced courses; it has achieved success in doing so, although more rigorous AP classes are still disproportionately White. The school also offers 14 Advanced Placement classes, which include AP English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Spanish Language and Culture, Studio Art levels 1 and 2, U.S. History, U.S. Government and Politics, World History, Biology, Environmental Science, Calculus AB and BC, Computer Science, and Statistics.

In 1986 the Handweavers Guild of America held Convergence '86 in Toronto, Canada, its first biennial meeting outside the U.S. The conference was co-hosted by the Ontario Crafts Council and the Ontario Handweavers & Spinners. About 2,000 weavers and spinners attended the conference. By 1998 the organization had grown to over 1,000 members, in over 70 guilds within six autonomous regions in Ontario. The OHS is affiliated with the Ontario Crafts Council.

Ovingdean Hall School (OHS) was a special day and boarding secondary school for the severely and profoundly deaf children and young people including those with additional special needs. It closed in July 2010. The former school's site is in a rural setting in the village of Ovingdean, near Brighton, East Sussex. Many deaf and hard of hearing children attendeded the school from all over the UK and sometimes from other English-speaking nations.

Mr. Hanson, the current principal of OHS, was awarded the "2015 Iowa Secondary Principal of the Year." on May 11, 2015 at a school wide assembly at Ottumwa High School. In 2001, anatomy/physiology teacher Gail Wortmann was named "Iowa Teacher of the Year." She was also awarded the Milken Family Foundation Teacher of the Year award in that year. OHS has two competitive show choirs, the higher-level Hilltoppers and lower-level Express. The Hilltoppers have been a top show choir for three decades, winning a competition in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin in 1984. They continue to be a force to be reckoned with, scoring two wins in the 2018 competition season. The school also hosts its own competition, which is noted for being one of the toughest in the Midwest and attracts schools from Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.

Menkes disease is caused by mutations in the ATP7A gene. Researchers have identified different ATP7A mutations that cause Menkes disease and occipital horn syndrome (OHS), the milder form of Menkes disease. Many of these mutations delete part of the gene and are predicted to produce a shortened ATP7A protein that is unable to transport Cu(I). Other mutations insert additional DNA base pairs or use the wrong base pairs, which leads to ATP7A proteins that do not function properly.

The station was constructed by OHS Consortium, a joint venture between two Turkish companies Öztaş and Hazinedaroğlu and Russia's Stroytransgaz. The engineering and procurement was done by the Italian company Nuovo Pignone. On 20 October 2002, the "golden welding" of the terminal to the pipeline was completed and starting on 30 December 2002, flow of natural gas from Russia to Turkey through Blue Stream was commenced.

The Oakley Junior/Senior High School is located on Main Street in Oakley, Idaho. The current school building was built in 1997, but there has been a school in Oakley almost since its founding. It is a small school which serves about 200 students from grades 7–12. Oakley High School is a school proud of its heritage and school spirit with many traditions that have been passed on from the earlier generations of students at OHS.

In May 2009 the OHS announced plans to build a second museum, to be called the Oklahoma Museum of Popular Culture, or OKPOP, and located in Tulsa's Brady District. Directors Robert L. Maddox and Bill Dean have been the longest tenured directors of the band with 13 years and 22 years respectively. As of July 2018, John Mayo is the director of the band. The Instrumental Music Building at OHS is named in honor of Maddox and the main band hall is named in honor of Dean. From 1981 through 2006, the band has had at least one member make the Texas All State Band each year.

Each State and Territory has a principal health and safety Act which sets out requirements for ensuring that workplaces are safe and healthy. These requirements spell out the general responsibilities of different groups of people who play a role in the workplace. Victoria, for example, first adopted modern occupational health and safety (OHS) legislation through the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1985. The scheme has since been renewed through the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004.

The Daughter of Dawn was rumored to exist, but was not in any archive and feared to be a lost film. In 2005, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art's Brian Hearn was offered the film for $35,000 by a private investigator, who was paid for a job with the film. Two years later, the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS), which has film stills and the script, purchased it for $5,000. Upon purchase, the film comprised five reels.

Further Victorian additions were designed by Sir John William Simpson. The Memorial Hall, the school's dining hall, was opened by the future King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and acts as a monument to former pupils who gave their lives in the First World War. During the past 40 years, its use has been extended to commemorate deaths of OHs in all military conflicts. The dining hall contains one of the largest unsupported domes in Europe.

O'Neill CVI is the oldest secondary school in Oshawa, opened in its present location in 1909 as Oshawa High School. High school classes had been held in the Central Public School downtown for many year prior to this, so the school's roots go back well into the 19th century. The original building is still in the core of the school, but is not visible from outside. After several major expansions during the 1920s, OHS became Oshawa Collegiate and Vocational Institute in 1930.

The DOS manages the THP, OHS, and the Driver License Services division. The THP is the highway patrol agency for Tennessee, which has jurisdiction anywhere in the state. The Office of Homeland Security was created in April 2003 by an executive order by then-Governor Phil Bredesen in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. The annual horticulture department plant sale raises thousands of dollars for scholarships and program expenses. Continuing the strong arts program of the school system, OHS offers band, chorus, showchoir, visual arts, theater, and video production. The band department includes concert, symphonic and jazz bands in addition to the award-winning "Spirit of the South" marching band. Four different choirs are offered by the choral department: the Ovations coed show choir, the Impressions girls' show choir, Women's Chamber Choir and Chamber Choir.

Shirk and Wright then collaborated to produce the book Oklahoma Historical Markers, which focused on 131 of the sites they deemed most important. In 1966, she performed a similar project with LeRoy H. Fischer on Civil War Sites in Oklahoma, which identified each site and described its significance. She followed up this work by leading public tours of the sites, sponsored by the OHS. Wright took a leading role in negotiating for Choctaw rights and compensation for the loss of their historic lands.

Oswego competes in the Southwest Prairie Conference, and is a member of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA), the organization which governs most interscholastic sports and competitive activities in Illinois. Teams are stylized as the Panthers. The Oswego High School football stadium is named "Ken Pickerill Stadium", named after the longtime teacher and coach of many OHS sports teams. The school sponsors interscholastic teams for young men and women in basketball, cross country, soccer, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field, and volleyball.

The Ottumwa High School football/track stadium, known as Schaefer Stadium, was established in the early 1920s in memory of a past student of OHS. Walter B. Schaefer graduated from the Ottumwa High School in 1903 with amazing athletic records and many college football opportunities. He went to the University of Chicago to play football under the famous coaching of Amos Alonzo Stagg, but Schaefer left college early to fight in the war. Schaefer was killed while serving in 1918.

The Ontario Jaguars' rival school is the Chaffey Tigers; their annual football game is known as "The Cat Bowl". In 2014 the school was remodeled to include a modernized campus, a new two story building with 32 classrooms, and, for the first time in 47 years, a football stadium known as "Jaguar Stadium". The current principal is Eduardo Zaldivar, preceded by Cary Willborn. OHS is currently the last high school with lockers in the Chaffey Joint Union High School District.

Since that time, the SIA has successfully promoted and supported a wide range of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate educational courses around Australia, and today the Australian OHS Education Accreditation Board (AOHSEAB) continues this work. The TDOS was established in 1939 by the Tennessee General Assembly to exercise authority over the THP. Over the decades, the agency has evolved to meet new challenges, such as drug trafficking, the issuance of drivers' licenses, and terrorism. Therefore, the DOS currently comprises three divisions: the THP, the Driver License Services division, and the state Office of Homeland Security (OHS). The current commissioner of the Department of Safety is Jeff Long, who has been serving since January 2019 after being appointed by Governor Bill Lee.

The organization's priorities include public education and pet population control, through which we seek to reduce the number of stray animals whose final solution is often destruction. The OHS provides a wealth of animal care information to the public through humane education visits, public information awareness booths, participation in various volunteer programs and the multitude of services offered to the community. The Organ Historical Society promotes their interests through a society magazine, The Tracker, and numerous publications through the OHS Press. The Tracker includes news and articles about the organ and its history, organbuilders, exemplary organs, regional surveys of instruments, and the music played on the organ. The emphasis is on American organ topics of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, and there are occasional articles on European topics. The Tracker is published quarterly, and contains many illustrations, vivid color photographs, and reprints of historic photos.

There is also a student council with approximately 50 members, who run concession stands and plan homecoming (an annual tradition since 1938), Halloween/Christmas Events, intramural sports (basketball, dodgeball, powder puff football, and volleyball), and multiple "Spirit Weeks." "Stage Challenge" involves up to 150 students in a student directed and choreographed dance and drama spectacular. Each year, until 2009, one Onehunga High School student wins a scholarship (provided by Tony Falkenstein) to attend the Cazadero Performing Arts Camp in California, US. In 2010, the scholarship was altered and now it sends two OHS students to Geelong Music Camp in Australia. "Bring It On" involves up to 100 students in a student choreographed hip hop-based dance. Onehunga High School placed 1st in the 2010 Bring It On Grand Final and 2nd in 2009.

Pesticides and other chemicals used in farming can also be hazardous to worker health, and workers exposed to pesticides may experience illnesses or birth defects. As an industry in which families, including children, commonly work alongside their families, agriculture is a common source of occupational injuries and illnesses among younger workers. Common causes of fatal injuries among young farm worker include drowning, machinery and motor vehicle-related accidents. The 2010 NHIS-OHS found elevated prevalence rates of several occupational exposures in the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector which may negatively impact health.

Recognising this deficit, an international collaboration called the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) Project Group was formed to create a single unified approach. The Group comprised representatives from national standards bodies, academic bodies, accreditation bodies, certification bodies and occupational safety and health institutions, with the UK’s national standards body, BSI Group, providing the secretariat. Drawing on the best of existing standards and schemes, the OHSAS Project Group published the OHSAS 18000 Series in 1999. Derochie represented the Gloucester Skating Club in Ottawa, Ontario, and trained at the Canadian Academy of Skating Arts, coached by Peter Dunfield. In the 1996–97 season, Derochie reached her first senior national podium, winning the silver medal behind Susan Humphreys at the 1997 Canadian Championships. The following season, she debuted on the Champions Series (Grand Prix), placing 9th at the 1997 Skate America and 12th at the 1997 NHK Trophy. On 16 September 2005, a live-show spinoff of Blokesworld, "Blokesworld Live", was banned by Brisbane City Council fifteen hours before the event was to commence at Brisbane's RNA Showgrounds. Though the organisers stressed that the event was well-organised and in accordance with public liability, security and OHS regulations, Brisbane City Council had given in to political pressure from individuals and groups such as the Young Women's Christian Association to stop "Blokesworld Live" from going ahead. The event was rescheduled to nearby Ipswich at the start of October.

The director of the institute focused the attention of his experienced and qualified staff on the development of methods of prevention of occupational diseases; principles and methods of improving working conditions, the environment, and saving the health of workers. Izmerov led the development of risk assessment methods for the cases of the employee's simultaneous exposure to the various types of occupational hazards. The institute was established museum of occupational hygiene in 1987 Nikolai Izmerov published over 500 journal papers (and other publications), several textbooks and manuals; and created a school of hygienists. 27 candidates and 32 doctors of science were trained under his leadership and during his consultations. In 1886 Himes was elected secretary of the Oregon Pioneer Association, a position he would keep for decades. He was also active in the Oregon Humane Society, the Oregon YMCA, and the Indian War Veterans of the North Pacific Coast. He began to promote the idea of a society to preserve Oregon history, and in 1898 the Oregon Historical Society (OHS) was formed with Himes as assistant secretary. Later Himes became curator of collections at the society, a post he would keep for nearly the rest of his life.

AFEI was founded in 1903 as the Employers' Federation of NSW. It later became a national organisation and was renamed Employers First, changing to the Australian Federation of Employers and Industries in 2008. AFEI is a not-for-profit organisation with over 3,500 members and more than 60 affiliated industry associations. Its main role is to advise, represent and assist employers in meeting their obligations relating to workplace relations, to assist them with human resources management, to provide OHS and other relevant training and, importantly, to seek appropriate regulation from government.

In the days when bottles were washed and re-used, drinks manufacturers paid shopkeepers and "marine store collectors" ("bottle-ohs") for the return of their (proprietary) containers, both bottles and crates. By arrangement between the manufacturers, the refund to the consumer was standardized (for many decades 2d, later 6d or 5c. for soft drink bottles and ½d for generic beer bottles) and the collectors received a premium for their part in the process. A substantial cost was incurred by the manufacturer in the transportation, sorting, storage, washing and sterilizing of the bottles and their inspection for contamination and damage.

Always proud of her Choctaw heritage, her passion for Native American history blossomed after she met author and journalist Joseph B. Thoburn in 1914. He was a board member of the Oklahoma Historical Society and they collaborated on the four-volume Oklahoma: A History of the State and its People, published in 1929. She also authored three textbooks about the state's history which were used in public schools: The Story of Oklahoma, Our Oklahoma and The Oklahoma History. In 1922, she joined the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS), where she was very active for much of her life.

After 1924, she devoted her time to writing about the Native Americans of Oklahoma. She contributed to and edited the OHS quarterly journal, The Chronicles of Oklahoma, although she was not formally given the title of editor until 1955. South Table Mountain, at , is mostly privately owned, and contains the "O", which is a big "O" on the side of the plateau, that stands for "Oroville", the city that it towers over. Dedicated on June 8, 1929 by Oroville High School (OHS) alumni Morrow Steadman, the "big O" has a concrete thickness of four inches, and was measured by its builders to be 87 feet by 33 feet. It was intended to last through the generations and convey a spirit of good sportsmanship in local high school athletic events. The "O", and most of its access routes, are located on private property.

The Grant-Foreman House is operated by the Three Rivers Museum. The Three Rivers Museum was established in Muskogee in 1989 as the dream of local historian Dorothy Ball, chairman at that time of the Muskogee Historic Preservation Commission. The main building of the museum, the formerly-abandoned Midland Valley Railroad Depot, was obtained in 1998 with federal grant funds. Due to budget issues regarding maintenance and public access with respect to the Grant Foreman House owned by the Oklahoma Historical Society, the Museum voted in 2002 to contract with OHS to take over the operation of that site and make needed renovations.

In 2005, the combined marching bands of Oswego High and Oswego East marched the 116th Tournament of Roses parade, the only band from Illinois to march at the event. OHS offers many co-curricular activities and clubs including six student band classes, several choirs, a drama club, and service organizations. The Freemen were a Sovereign Citizen group that included elements of the Christian Identity ideology, espoused common law legal theories, and rejected the legitimacy of the Federal Reserve. Montana legislator Carl Ohs mediated through the standoff. Outboard tail An outboard tail is located outboard of the main wing tips. Although sometimes described as tailless, the outboard tail configuration differs from a tailless wing in that the horizontal stabilizer is discontinuous from the main wing surface, typically being set further back and requiring a short boom to support it. Doyle became a very active participant in the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS), and was elected to its Board of Directors on January 1, 1917. His long service in the state (and territorial) government was a great asset to the organization. Not only did he author many articles that were published in the society's Chronicles of Oklahoma magazine, both before and after retiring from OCCA, he was instrumental in obtaining many mementos for the state Historical Museum through individuals he knew personally. The center's permanent exhibit, titled "By the Sweat of Their Brow: Forging the Steel Valley," examines the community's industrial past using video, photographs, artifacts, and reconstructed scenes. Despite its focus on Youngstown's former staple industry, the center has faced difficulties related to low patronage. Until recently, the center enjoyed low visibility among residents of the Mahoning Valley, and some observers pointed to the center's hours of operation, which do not make the facility accessible to working residents. Nevertheless, the OHS continues to support the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor, which has survived rumors of imminent closure.

In addition, OHS runs an Emergent Literacy Program for students with interrupted education or low literacy skills. The Occupational Health and Safety Act was enacted in 1985 as a major reform of the Labor government of John Cain II. The Act was reviewed, by Chris Maxwell QC (Queens Counsel) now a Judge of the Court of Appeal becoming the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004. The 'new' Act broadly reflected the requirements of the OHS Act 1985. The most basic of duties requires employers to provide a safe workplace for employees and people other than employees (Sections 23and 24). The 2004 Act greatly increased potential fines from a maximum of $250,000 to more than $900,000.

As the number of service sector jobs has risen in developed countries, more and more jobs have become sedentary, presenting a different array of health problems than those associated with manufacturing and the primary sector. Contemporary problems such as the growing rate of obesity and issues relating to occupational stress, workplace bullying, and overwork in many countries have further complicated the interaction between work and health. According to data from the 2010 NHIS-OHS, hazardous physical/chemical exposures in the service sector were lower than national averages. On the other hand, potentially harmful work organization characteristics and psychosocial workplace exposures were relatively common in this sector.

During the 2009 Texas High School baseball playoffs, TSRN (the Texas Sports Radio Network) asked Jack FM if they would be interested in broadcasting the OHS baseball team playoff games. They replied that they had no interest in broadcasting high school sports at this time, but they announced that there sports programming would continue to increase as they began broadcasting the 2009-2010 Odessa Jackalopes CHL Hockey games. This marked the first time that Jack FM didn't get a sports broadcast from a current contract, instead acquiring the Jackalopes contract from rival station KMCM. The broadcast rights also allowed them to take over the Monday night talk show Hockey Talk.

On May 5, 2017 OCI produced the third Oregon Film History Invitational. The conference took place at the Little Church on 5138 NE 23rd Ave in Portland from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Presentations were given by, in order of their appearance, Ronald Kramer/KGW Hoot Owls (1923-1933), Elizabeth Peterson/Lester Beck, UO’30, Gretchen Harmon/William B. Gruber, inventor of Viewmaster, David Chelsea/At the Scribe (1972-1978), Julie Perini/Using OHS Moving Image Archives, and David Cress/MHCC film school. On October 15, 1916 OCI produced Underground USA, a one-day public history/arts education event focussing on one chapter of Oregon print cartooning history.

Ossining High School (OHS) is a comprehensive public high school located in Ossining, New York, United States, along the Hudson River in northern Westchester County, New York. Serving grades 9 through 12, it is the sole high school within the Ossining Union Free School District. The school serves the entirety of the village of Ossining, portions of the Village of Briarcliff Manor, Town of Ossining, and Town of New Castle, as well as a very small southern portion of the Town of Yorktown. Its building is a historical contributing property within the Downtown Ossining Historic District, which was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The School published 46 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals in 2003 and attracted over $8 million in external grants from government agencies (National Health and Medical Research Council and Medical Research Council, Australian Research Council etc.) and industry. Research within the School has led to several products, including Recaldent, a unique product which helps prevent and reverse dental decay. The Melbourne Dental School is one of five participants in the Victorian Centre for Oral Health Science established in 2003 with an infrastructure grant (major equipment grant) from the Victorian State Government. The Melbourne Dental School was a core party in the Cooperative Research Centre for Oral Health Science (CRC-OHS) from 2004 - 2010.

Although socioeconomic factors may play a role in the abuse, researchers from the Project for Wellness and Work-Life suggest that "workplace bullying, by definition, is not explicitly connected to demographic markers such as sex and ethnicity". According to the 2015 National Health Interview Survey Occupational Health Supplement (NHIS-OHS), the national prevalence rate for workers reporting having been threatened, bullied, or harassed by anyone on the job was 7.4%. In 2008, Dr. Judy Fisher-Blando wrote a doctoral research dissertation on Aggressive behaviour: Workplace Bullying and Its Effect on Job Satisfaction and Productivity. The scientific study determined that almost 75% of employees surveyed had been affected by workplace bullying, whether as a target or a witness.

He enlisted the help of Hazel Emery Mills, his wife; the work became her lifelong passion following Randall's death shortly after the project began. With assistance and encouragement over the years from Thomas Vaughan of the Oregon Historical Society, Constance Bordwell of the University of Oregon, and (after Hazel Mills' death in 1999) Bordwell's assistants Priscilla Knuth and Bruce Taylor Hamilton, and Vaughan's associate Marguerite Wright, a biography was published by the OHS Press in 2003.

The 2010 National Health Interview Survey Occupational Health Supplement (NHIS- OHS) identified work organization factors and occupational psychosocial and chemical/physical exposures which may increase some health risks. Among all U.S. workers in the construction sector, 44% had non-standard work arrangements (were not regular permanent employees) compared to 19% of all U.S. workers, 15% had temporary employment compared to 7% of all U.S. workers, and 55% experienced job insecurity compared to 32% of all U.S. workers. Prevalence rates for exposure to physical/chemical hazards were especially high for the construction sector. Among nonsmoking workers, 24% of construction workers were exposed to secondhand smoke while only 10% of all U.S. workers were exposed.

Through the early 20th century, when the cost of producing glass bottles was higher, a natural industry of glass bottle collectors and merchants performed a similar function to the modern CDL. Bottle accumulators, a licensed and unionized workforce commonly known as "bottle-ohs" from their street cries, travelled by cart around the streets buying empty bottles from households and businesses. They would then sell the bottles to a bottle yard, which would store and sort the bottles before selling them in bulk to brewers and other bottlers. It was an industry from which a bottle-oh could make a good living; in 1904, they could buy a dozen beer bottles for 6d.

"R&B; Junkie" is an upbeat song which has a "retro" feel consisting of eighties soul, R&B;, funk, dance-pop and synths, while it samples Evelyn King's 1981 song "I'm in Love"; it has "oh-oh-ohs" throughout the verses. "R&B; Junkie" peaked at number one on the Bubbling Under R&B;/Hip-Hop Singles, as it received a limited release.

Career Technical classes prepare students for immediate transition following graduation into the workplace or articulated courses offered at Southern Union and other community colleges. Programs include horticulture, business information technology, family and consumer science, engineering, and health science. The annual horticulture department plant sale raises thousands of dollars for scholarships and program expenses. Continuing the arts program of the school system, OHS offers band, chorus, visual arts, theater, and video production. The band department includes concert, symphonic and jazz bands in addition to the award-winning “Spirit of the South” marching band. Four different choirs are offered by the choral department: the Ovations coed show choir, the Impressions girls’ show choir, Women's Chamber Choir and Chamber Choir.

There is a show choir - Sudden Impact - that competes in many competitions. Finally, there is a morning symphony which is a composed of both band and orchestra performers. An Art Club, Debate Team, Speech Team, International Club, Best Buddies, Fellowship of the Rainbow, and Science Club are joined by local chapters of DECA, Family Career an Community Leaders, Future Educators of America, Human Rights Youth, SADD, and the National Honor Society (known at OHS as the "Torch Club") to extend opportunities for students. In addition, there is a Silver Cord program, which is an opportunity for students to be recognized for 200 hours of community service that they have completed during their four years of high school.

Kulpa's first syndicated work appeared in 1983, when he produced the Star Trek and Bruce Lee newspaper comics for the Los Angeles Times Syndicate. Kulpa met Star Trek creator and producer Gene Roddenberry when he served as alderman and presented Roddenberry with one of his original Star Trek cartoons from the Los Angeles Times Syndicate. From 1982-88, Kulpa served as graphic arts manager for the Testor Corporation, manufacturer of model kits, where he designed cartoon instruction sheets and collateral materials for their line of Weird-Ohs models. He illustrated Tribune Media Services' nationally and internationally syndicated Ghost Story Club comic strip and the weekly cartoon panel Draw Play for the Chicago Bear Report newspaper.

Oceanside High School is one of two high schools in the Oceanside Unified School District serving Oceanside, CA. Founded in 1906, OHS originally was located on the second floor of a one-room schoolhouse located at the site of the present campus. The school primarily serves Oceanside's beach communities and rests less than one mile from the beach. Throughout much of the first half of the 1900s the campus served as the High School for the majority of the North San Diego County region - its territory spanned as far south as Encinitas and east to Vista. In 1934, the school opened a junior college division, which operated on the eastern side of campus and existed until the 1970s when Mira Costa College opened its own campus.

Paradise wrote, produced and starred in the short film The Ten Rules: The Lesbian Survival Guide, which debuted in 2002 and subsequently played at gay and lesbian film festivals, both in the United States and in Europe (specifically Copenhagen, Paris and Reykjavík). The film, which focused on a group of lesbian friends in Los Angeles, won awards at the Boulder Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, the Verzaubert International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, the Austin Gay & Lesbian Film Festival and the Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. After the success of The Ten Rules, Paradise developed the themes of the film into a television series for Logo, Exes and Ohs. Paradise wrote, produced and starred in the series, which debuted on October 8, 2007.

The mining industry still has one of the highest rates of fatalities of any industry. There are a range of hazards present in surface and underground mining operations. In neuromuscular disease, a breathing measurement known as the vital capacity is used to determine a need for breathing support. Obesity hypoventilation syndrome (OHS) may cause acute hypercapnic respiratory failure. When this is the case, the criteria for commencing acute NIV are similar to those for COPD (decreased pH, elevated CO2), although there are some scenarios where NIV may be initiated in hospitalized people despite a normal pH; these include people with daytime somnolence, sleep-disordered breathing and/or evidence of right ventricle heart failure. In acute cardiogenic pulmonary oedema caused by decompensated heart failure, the quality of evidence is poor but studies have shown a reduced risk of death and a decreased need for tracheal intubation for both NIV and CPAP.

After service in World War II, Shirk practiced law in Oklahoma City, in partnership with lawyers W.R. Withington and James E. Work - first in the law firm of Withington, Shirk, Nichols & Work, and later with the firm of Shirk, Withington, Work & Robinson. Lucrative financial settlements in his legal profession allowed Shirk to pursue his passion, namely writing and publishing on unique topics in Oklahoma history. In 1949, he worked on the committee that selected sites to be designated as historical markers within the state, and wrote the text for many of these markers. Shirk also wrote and published 29 articles for the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) from 1948–1977, focusing mostly on Oklahoma-related Civil War history and philately/postal service history.

The school was founded about 1515 in Honiton, probably as a chantry school where priests taught boys to read Latin so that they could sing in the choir. Later still it became a grammar school for the sons of the local gentry. Its origins in Honiton are the reason former pupils are still known as Old Honitonians, or OHs. The school was named after its neighbour All Hallows, a roadside chapel for travellers built sometime before 1327 and now the oldest existing secular building in Honiton. By the 1930s there was an increase in traffic through Honiton, which lay on the main route to Cornwall, which became a serious hazard to the school, with premises on both sides of the main road.

The Odessa High School band has the longest consecutive streak of first division rating in marching contests in the State of Texas, going back 81 years. The band has also been invited to various music festival and contests across the nation. In March 2007, the band was invited to play their marching season selections "Letters from the Front" at the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. In 2004, The Odessa High School Band combined with the band from Permian High School in Odessa to form one of the largest bands ever to march in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California (over 500 members). The OHS Band was started in 1932 under the direction of G. Ward Moody.

Governor Sonny Perdue, GEMA/OHS director Charley English, Ready Kids mascot Rex the mountain lion, and Georgia elementary school students pose during Ready Georgia's official launch at the state capital building. GEMA created the Ready Georgia campaign in response to survey data revealing that nearly 80 percent of Georgia residents had not taken even the most basic steps towards being prepared for the wide range of natural and man-made disasters that threaten the state. Ready Georgia intends to "promote a preparedness and prevention culture" in Georgia through public education and outreach. The campaign specifically encourages residents to be prepared so they can safely oversee their own evacuation and maintain self- sufficiency for a full three days after an emergency.

Corbett, foreseeing this new US territory's promise, then subject to US law, formed a three-year 50/50 partnership, signed October 12, 1850,Articles of agreement between Williams Bradford & Co and Henry W. Williams Bradford were to provide the goods, cash and credit. Corbett, aged twenty-three, was to go to Portland to run the business. He chartered a bark, the Frances and Louise, and loaded it with $25,000 worth of general merchandise, mainly assorted hardware; powder, shot, nails, brooms, implements and groceries; coffee, sugar, tobacco, drugs, medicine, millinery, silk goods and shoes.pp.

Inspection bodies Inspection mainly operates within the regulatory domain where regulators and citizens need to be confident that inspection bodies, especially those inspecting health and safety issues in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, are competent to do so. The band has shared the stage with several notable acts including Sloan, Feist, Joel Plaskett, The Meligrove Band, The Bicycles, The Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Bloc Party, Blue Rodeo, Major Grange, Roky Erikson, Thurston Moore, Electric Six, The Willowz, Ida Maria, Malajube, Peter Elkas, Liam Finn, Bahamas, Zeus, White Cowbell Oklahoma, The Balconies, Hexes and Ohs, Rich Aucoin, Jason Collett, State Radio The band has welcomed two new members to their current line up while Grassia has moved from keyboards to the drum kit. The band is currently in production of their 4th studio album which is due to be released in the spring of 2014.

Some of the notable people who carried forward the aims and objectives of the society at that time were Eric Wigglesworth, Samuel Barclay, Sol Freedman, Frank Kuffer, Roger Smith, Cip Corva, Hilton Ludekens and Fred Catlin. In 1977, the SIA joined with the (then) South Melbourne Technical School in establishing a specialist resource collection in the field of industrial safety and health. This library became the most comprehensive research resource available for safety professionals and was maintained by Institute Members for many years. This commitment to providing high quality resources to the profession is reflected today in the Institute's role of maintaining the OHS Body of Knowledge. In 1981, the SIA played a major role in launching the Ballarat College of Advanced Education’s Occupational Hazard Management course, the first tertiary level (Graduate Diploma) course of its kind.

Model companies hired big name customizers to create new and striking designs. Just as AMT had hired George Barris and Darryl Starbird, Revell hired Ed "Big Daddy" Roth about 1962 as their new stylist (Funding Universe Web page). Hawk Models would use Bill Campbell's "'Weird-Ohs" like "Davey" the wild motor-bike rider and "Digger" the dragster, and later, Monogram would hire designer Tom Daniel. At this time, Roth created the bubble-glassed "Beatnik Bandit" (later made even more famous when produced by Hot Wheels), the double engined "Mysterion", the asymmetrical "Orbitron", the "Outlaw" (a highly styled T bucket), and the "Road Agent". Apart from wheeled wonders, arguably his most famous creation was the "Rat Fink", an anti-Mickey Mouse figure (Ed Roth Cars 2008–2011). Roth's Web site reports that in 1963 Revell paid Roth 1 cent for every one of his model kits sold, totaling $32,000 (Biography 2008–2011).

Her song 'Everyman' was chosen for an advert for CTT Consigo "Zero Emissions" campaign, one of the first Carbon free shot commercial (the Portuguese postal service by Ameba) and her vocals appear on an advert for Mayflower's "Big Move" 2010 (Siblings Music) in USA which was nominated for an award at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. In 2009, Dermot O'Leary picked Lettie for the Electric Proms, and played her track "Hang On" on BBC Radio 2. Lettie was one of the three featured artists in Rachel Davies' documentary Hello Glastonbury!, which first aired in the UK on BBC Four on 31 August 2010.

Because different countries take different approaches to ensuring occupational safety and health, areas of OSH need and focus also vary between countries and regions.
