Initially they are unsuccessful but the twin's dog Snippet and their jackdaw Nosey lead them to a burrow, beneath which the secret passage stretches out. The children discover the cellars and the treasure, only to become trapped inside the tunnel when the entrance caves in.

Award 2018 San Diego from Nob Yoshigahara Puzzle Design Competition The Puzzle of the Year (Jury Grand Prize and Puzzlers’ Award) went to Casino by Volker Latussek. This freed the zoo from having to approve a budget with the City Council. In 1979, the zoo added the Edward A. Kane Reptile House, the world's first computer- controlled reptile habitat. In 1982, Nosey the Elephant's habitat was renovated and three new elephants were brought in. The parody is in part based on Caine's character from The Italian Job released in 1969 and so loved by British audiences ("I told you, you're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!") and his diction when presenting his lines in many of his films.

Local gang leader "Pearly" Gates (Sellers), who operates from the cover of a French couturier, finds his takings cut severely, and blames rival crook "Nervous" O'Toole (Bernard Cribbins). When it emerges that they are both being scammed by the same gang, they join forces, along with Lionel Jeffries' Police Inspector "Nosey" Parker, to bring the so- called "I.P.O. mob" (I.

Trixie has a much more outgoing disposition than Jenny, but the two share the sense of adventure in their work and become firm friends. Trixie loves nothing more than gossiping with her colleagues and is quite nosey when it comes to other people's business. She occasionally comes across as a bit rude, but she means no harm by it. When it comes to her friends, she takes great pleasure in teasing them about what is going on in their lives.

The 1921 Arizona Wildcats football team represented the University of Arizona as an independent during the 1921 college football season. In their seventh season under head coach Pop McKale, the Wildcats compiled a 7–2 record, shut out six of nine opponents, lost to the Centre Praying Colonels in the East- West Christmas Classic (the program's first bowl game appearance), and outscored all opponents, 418 to 68. The team captain was Walter William Wofford. Arizona's Harold "Nosey" McClellan led the nation in scoring with 124 points.

In 2017, Buzzr began streaming its programming to Amazon Prime Video and Twitch; the Prime Video offering provides video on demand, while Twitch offered a linear feed separate from the over-the-air telecast. Compton Place was a chestnut horse with a white blaze and three white socks bred in England by R J Turner. He was sired by Indian Ridge, a sprinter who won the King's Stand Stakes in 1989, before becoming a successful breeding stallion best known for siring the outstanding filly Ridgewood Pearl. Indian Ridge was a representative of the Byerley Turk sire line, unlike more than 95% of modern thoroughbreds, who descend directly from the Darley Arabian. Compton Place's dam, Nosey, won three races as a two- year-old in Ireland in 1983.

It follows the story of Murdoch, a middle-aged man who takes to his bed for "metaphysical reasons". A series of visitors come and see him in his 'horizontal' state: his mother, his brother, his nosey neighbour 'Snoopy', a life insurance salesman, his local minister, a "medical specialist", and Death - a cheerful, sunny man. In Autumn Marathon, it is said, Leonov brilliantly demonstrates the typical Leonov anti-hero. He gave a hilarious portrayal of a simple, nosey man who drank too much and who adored nothing more than talking nonsense as long as anyone could stand it.

Mr Munroe Mr Munroe is Ottoline's friend and is from a bog in Norway. He is a little creature with long, straight hair that Ottoline likes to brush. It is also hinted that Mr Munroe also has a diploma from Who R U.The end of the book In the book, he disguises himself as a dog named Bimby Bottlenose II, Emperor of Heligoland, Pedigree Norwegian Lapdog (to which they called him Nosey). He draws a map of Apartment 243, for Ottoline to catch the Yellow Cat while trying to steal the money from Ottoline's apartment.

Mike Morgan (1929 – 5 June 1958), born John Michael Pughe-Morgan,England & Wales, Civil Registration Birth Index, 1916-2005 was a British actor. His film acting debut was in the 1957 film comedy Barnacle Bill, which starred Sir Alec Guinness. Morgan played a much larger role in another film with Guinness, The Horse's Mouth, as Nosey, a sidekick of Guinness's character, Gulley Jimson. However, shortly before filming ended, he fell ill with meningitis and died before the film was completed; some of his lines were therefore dubbed by another actor.

Jason parked outside the property for about 10 minutes. He then decided to drive back out to Torquay Drive and park there, as he did not want to be "a nosey, interfering boyfriend". After waiting another 10 minutes parked on Torquay Drive, Jason texted Lindsay to ask if she was OK. Lindsay never opened this message. Aloysius "Nosey" Parker is a fictional character introduced in the British 1960s Supermarionation television series Thunderbirds, who also appears in the film sequels Thunderbirds Are Go (1966) and Thunderbird 6 (1968) and the 2004 live-action adaptation Thunderbirds. He is the butler and chauffeur to Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward and, like her, a field agent of the secret organisation International Rescue. The puppet character of the TV series and first two films was voiced by David Graham. In the live-action film, Parker is portrayed by Ron Cook.

The zoo grew substantially in the 1940s and 1950s, with 100 animals and more birds by 1947. The zoo's first foreman, Eldon "Curly" Blocker, was hired from the San Diego Zoo. In 1949, the zoo's Asian elephant Nosey (a name determined by a citywide "Name-the-Elephant" Contest) was acquired, with help from the Fresno Rotary Club. Her arrival coincided with Fresno's "49ers Days Rodeo Parade", and Nosey's presence in that parade was popular enough to spawn the creation of the Fresno Zoological Society, which would create interest in the zoo and provide a fundraising mechanism.

Victor Moore appeared in over 50 films and 21 Broadway shows. His first appearance was on Broadway in Rosemary (1896). He also appeared in George M. Cohan's Forty-five Minutes from Broadway, which opened January 1, 1906, and its sequel, The Talk of New York (1907). He went on to star in shows such as Oh, Kay! (1926) as Shorty McGee, Hold Everything! (1928) as Nosey Bartlett, Gershwin's Of Thee I Sing (1931) as Vice-President Alexander Throttlebottom, Let 'Em Eat Cake (1933), Cole Porter's Anything Goes (1934) as Moonface Martin, and Irving Berlin's Louisiana Purchase (1940) as Oliver P. Loganberry.

His career was only possible because of his aristocratic origins and connections. Nobody not born into the gentry could ever hope to attain commands such as those Wellington was given, and the only thing that truly distinguished him from other noblemen given command as a favor rather than on merit, was that he proved to have actual talent when it came to command, as did Sharpe. Around 1951, his band included the bebop composer and arranger Tadd Dameron on piano and Benny Golson, another jazz musician, on saxophone. Some of Jackson's later risqué material, including "Big Ten Inch Record" and "Nosey Joe" (written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller), caused a sensation during live performances but were too suggestive for the radio, and few of the records were sold. However, his band faithfully played "Big Ten Inch Record" at every show. Because the park was owned and operated by the various Fresno Rotary Clubs, profits from the amusement park were planted back into the community by the Rotary Playland board of directors. It was Playland money that, in 1964, bought 50 acres of extra land to help form Woodward Park. More cash went toward the Zoo’s reptile house, a new exhibit for Nosey the elephant (the zoo's first elephant who had previously been held in a concrete and steel cage), land for Logan Park, and the Shinzen Friendship Garden. Playland and Storyland had little room to grow, because they were on the outer edge of Roeding Park.

Barry Glennard is a British comics artist who works mainly for Scottish publisher D. C. Thomson & Co.. He has drawn a number of strips for The Beano over the years including Pansy Potter, The Beano Birds, Gnasher and Gnipper and The Numskulls. Only one of these four currently remains in The Beano that is The Numskulls which was drawn by Barry Glennard until July 2013. He has also drawn for Fleetway occasionally, drawing Nosey Parker, Bookworm, Watford Gapp and Mustapha Million sometimes. He supposedly left in The Beano in July 2013 along with Barrie Appleby and Dave Eastbury when The Numskulls was taken over by Nigel Auchterlounie.

Melody Rules centred on Melody Robbins (Belinda Todd), a conscientious and mild-mannered travel agent attempting to rein in her wayward siblings while her mother is off on an archaeological dig in Malaysia. She is aided and abetted by Fiona (Susan Brady), her ditzy air hostess best friend; Brendan (Alan Brough), her hapless co-worker; and Neville (Alistair Douglas), her nosey, filthy, and unkempt neighbour with the catchphrase "Ya decent?". At the time, Todd was best known for her role as co-host of TV3's late news programme Nightline. She had little acting experience and was known more for her sexy, outrageous on-screen persona.

The officious bystander is a metaphorical figure of English law and legal fiction, developed by MacKinnon LJ in Southern Foundries (1926) Ltd v Shirlaw[1939] 2 KB 206 to assist in determining when a term should be implied into an agreement. While the officious bystander test is not the overriding formulation in English law today, it provides a useful guide. It was presumably a reflection of Silke Maier-Witt's unfinished medical studies in Hamburg that "Angelika Gerlach's" back story also included time as a trainee physician who had never qualified. Presumably it reflected a failure to lose her western accent that she was told to explain that she had relocated to the German Democratic Republic from "West Germany" out of political conviction.

Burney further wrote of Cervetto "He was an honest Hebrew, had the largest nose, and wore the finest diamond ring on the forefinger of his bow hand", but considered him an indifferent performer. The Gentleman's Magazine, in an obituary of his son James Cervetto (1747–1837, also a cellist and composer for his instrument), noted that the audience in Covent Garden would often shout to the elder Cervetto " 'play up, Nosey'....Hence the origin of a phrase not infrequently heard at the theatre even to the present day".Gentleman's Magazine, , April 1837, p. 437. Cervetto maintained links with others of the Basevi family in England, whose members included the architect George Basevi and Maria D'Israeli (née Basevi), the mother of Benjamin Disraeli.

Kneesy-Earsy-Nosey was the game of coordination and dexterity played by Stanlio in the picture, to Ollio's great frustration. The game, which became a fad shortly after the film's release,TCM Archives: Laurel And Hardy Collection (DVD) - John J. Puccio consists of clapping the knees, then grabbing one ear with the opposite hand while grabbing the nose with the other hand, again clapping the knees, and then grabbing the other ear with the opposite hand while grabbing the nose with the other hand. Participants attempt to do it with increasing speed. Proficiency seems intuitively easy to acquire but requires time and training, as it involves constant shifting of coordination of the left and right control areas of the brain.

Acknowledging Parker's role as a peripheral comic foil, as well as the heavy caricature of the original puppet character, David Garland likens him to the Victorian-era stock character Pantaloon, "a low, comic figure that functioned as a butt of jokes, and did not mix with regular dramatic characters." Series co-creator Sylvia Anderson described Parker as a "lovable rogue with doubtful connections who had gone straight." While speaking as a guest on BBC 6 Music in December 2007, she cast doubt on the assertion that the character's first name was Aloysius, stating that he was "only ever 'Nosey' Parker". The puppet character is known for his Cockney speech, which he would often hypercorrect by adding non-standard aitches in an attempt to imitate prestigious English.

Arizona later received the name "Wildcats" after a Los Angeles Times correspondent, Bill Henry, wrote that "The Arizona men showed the fight of wildcats". Pop McKale was a very successful high school coach in the Tucson area when he was hired at UA. In 1921, Drop-kicker/receiver Harold "Nosey" McClellan led the nation in scoring with 124 points. Wildcats finished the regular season 7–1, and were invited to UA's first bowl game, the East-West Christmas Classic in San Diego, to play powerhouse Centre College of Kentucky; Arizona lost the game 38–0. The Wildcats did not compete in football in 1918 due to World War I. On October 18, 1926, UA quarterback and student body president John "Button" Salmon died from injuries sustained in a car wreck.

Tuttle was a neighbor of filmmaker John O'Brien, who recognized that Tuttle's charisma and unique personality might come across well on film. As a result, he cast Tuttle in movie roles including parts in Nosey Parker and Man with a Plan. In 1998, Tuttle and O'Brien decided that a Tuttle candidacy for public office might help publicize Man with a Plan, a mock documentary which centers on the idea of a retired farmer (Tuttle) running for the United States House of Representatives because it's easier and pays better than farming. They decided to run for the Republican nomination to oppose Senator Patrick Leahy, in part to promote the film, and in part to poke fun at Jack McMullen, a recent arrival to Vermont, who was accused of moving to the state because it would be easier to campaign for a senate seat there than in his home state of Massachusetts.

There was consensus among delegates that unequal land distribution was a major cause of environmental problems in South Africa and that the land itself needed protection under the law. Speaking on behalf of the ANC, Cheryl Carolus criticised the lack of political involvement by environmentalists in the past and made the point that her decision to get involved in politics had arisen out of a desire to empower herself and to regain control over her environment. The issue of workers' involvement in environmental issues was taken up by Nosey Peterse of the Food and Allied Workers Union (FAWU) who told delegates: "You can talk about environmental degradation but while you talk workers are losing their jobs because of environmental degradation." "You cannot have a fishing industry without fish or agriculture without soil," said Peterse, who then added that a sustainable environment would mean thousands of jobs in the future.

Feeling compelled on some strange level, he ventures to the outskirts of the city and relaxes under the stars, absorbing the stillness of the moment. That is, until something crashes from the night sky, nearly killing him. The source of the crash is a girl named Iris, who seems to have no memory of her past or recollection of how she got there. Stranger still, she seems to have brought quite a bit of trouble to Colby’s life, as he finds himself drifting aimlessly through strange daydreams and discovering a tree growing in his living room. After a harsh argument with Iris over her inability to explain any of the weird events, Colby finds a passageway to “somewhere else” and decides to confront whatever comes next head on by climbing in. Colby’s nosey friend Blake comes by the house to say hello and finds a lot more than he bargained for.

In order to ensure the safety of his collection Parker inserted into the terms of his endowment one which stated that if any more than a certain number of books were lost, the rest of the collection would pass first to Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and then (in the event of any more losses) to Trinity Hall, Cambridge. Every few years, representatives from both of those colleges ceremonially inspect the collection for any losses. Parker placed a similar condition on the silver that he bequeathed to the college and these stipulations are part of the reason why Corpus Christi College retains to this day the entirety of the library and the silver collection: they were unable to sell off (or melt down) the less valuable parts of either collection without losing both. So assiduous was Archbishop Parker in his acquisition of books and manuscripts he earned himself the epithet of "Nosey Parker", bringing about a phrase still used today.

A Waverly book about The Dandy was originally to be released in 2007 for the comic's 70th birthday, but was cancelled with no explanation. The last ever print edition of the Dandy, a 100-page edition featuring a countdown of the comic's "Top 75 Characters", was published on 4 December 2012. However, The Dandy continued online and in the Dandy App, with long-running characters like "Desperate Dan", "Bananaman", "Blinky", "Sneaker" and "Hyde & Shriek" making the transition to digital alongside a re-imagined version of "Keyhole Kate" – transformed from nosey parker into a schoolgirl sleuth – a new take on former "Beezer" characters "The Numskulls", and a superhero team consisting of revamped versions of former D.C. Thomson action stars – including The Dandy's (and the U.K.'s) first ever superhero, "The Amazing Mr X" – in adventure serial "Retro-Active". This was quite controversial among most Dandy fans as comparisons were made that the print edition was better and the digital one could be quite unreliable.

Live on Tape is a late night comedy sketch show that aired on Saturday nights at 10pm on KLJB-TV in Davenport, Iowa from 1987 to 1989, and repeated through 1990. "Live on Tape" was the only locally producedLive on Tape - Recreation Research Guide entertainment show at that time in the Quad Cities area. "Live on Tape" was a locally produced, low budget show, featuring characters such as: E.J. Crackerhorn, Arnie Upshoe, Guy Newswarthy, Uncle Joey, Nosey, Clive Knobfinder, Zippy Spamhammer, Bongo the Exploding Clown, and plenty more. Much of the humor poked fun at local and national personalities, spoofed commercials and TV shows, but also included silly adventures of the show's cast of regular characters—be that sending them through a black hole after a stockpile of powerful hairspray goes nuclear and blasts them into space, or bombing Kewanee, Illinois with Mallo Cups in a failed attempt to keep Cosmonauts Ivan Drombollo and Voster Slepenski from taking over the air-waves.
