The book appears in Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume Two #30 "Circle of Darkness". There is a reference to 'De Vermis Mysteriis' in the 2004 movie, Hellboy. It contains a description of the Ogdru Jahad, gods otherwise not connected to the Cthulhu mythos.

The word polygon comes from Late Latin polygōnum (a noun), from Greek πολύγωνον (polygōnon/polugōnon), noun use of neuter of πολύγωνος (polygōnos/polugōnos, the masculine adjective), meaning "many-angled". Project Nonagon is the fourth studio album by the Seattle-based digital hardcore band Rabbit Junk. It is a sequel to the band's previous album This Life Is Where You Get F__cked. It was the first album with almost exclusively vocals by JP Anderson rather than Sum Grrl, as well as the last album released by the band on Full Effect Records before their period of inactivity, chronicled in Singles from the Lost Years 2011-2013, and their move to releasing extended plays. The band did not release another full-length album until Rabbit Junk Will Die: Meditations on Mortality in 2018.

Other galleries associated with the area and the time were the Fleischman Gallery, the Nonagon Gallery, the Reuben Gallery, the Terrain Gallery and the gallery at the Judson Church, which were not co-operatives. The galleries on and nearby 10th Street played a significant part in the growth of American art and in the diversification of styles that are evident in the art world of today. The 10th Street scene was also a social scene, and openings often happened simultaneously on common opening days. This afforded a way for many artists to mingle with each other and the writers, poets, curators and occasional collectors who gravitated to the scene.

This Life Is Where You Get Fucked is the third studio album by the Seattle- based digital hardcore band Rabbit Junk, and their first originally released on the Full Effect Records label. It is a concept album, divided into three separate parts which are only very loosely tied together. Each of these parts uses different influences and musical genres: The Struggle primarily combined elements of Gothenburg metal with drum and bass; Ghetto Blasphemer combined black metal with West Coast hip hop, and This Death is Where You Get Life combined elements of punk rock, death metal and gabber. The album was followed up by a direct sequel, Project Nonagon, which added three new songs to each of the suites.

It contained a riff from the song "People Vultures" which was premiered on 4 April with a music video released on 6 May. The album received high praise from critics, with Pitchfork's Stuart Berman writing it "yields some of the most outrageous, exhilarating rock 'n' roll in recent memory." The album also received glowing reviews from numerous other publishers, Happy Mag Maddy Brown described it as "an intensely striking, ferocious sound that gets the blood flowing and heart racing," while NME Larry Bartleet wrote that "If you wanted to, you could listen to it forever in one unbroken melody." The band earned its first ARIA Award when Nonagon Infinity won the 2016 ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album.

Dorothy Podber in 2007 Dorothy Podber (September 15, 1932 – February 9, 2008) was an American performance artist. Born in the Bronx to a mother who had tried repeatedly, but unsuccessfully, to abort her, and to a father who worked for the Jewish mobster Dutch Schultz, Podber was later remembered as a disruptive influence by classmates from West Walton High School. A wild child of the New York City art scene in the 1950s and 1960s, she helped to run the Nonagon Gallery, which showed the work of a young Yoko Ono and was known for jazz concerts by such performers as Charles Mingus. However, her greatest fame --and notoriety--came from her work as a muse and collaborator with more prominent artists.

Nonagon Infinity (2016), arguably their most acclaimed album to date, features nine interconnected tracks that form an infinite loop, and won the ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album. In 2017, the band fulfilled a promise to release five studio albums within the year: Flying Microtonal Banana, an experiment in microtonality, in February; the three- chapter "sci-fi epic" Murder of the Universe in June; Sketches of Brunswick East, an improvised jazz collaboration with Mild High Club, in August; Polygondwanaland, which was released into the public domain, in November; and Gumboot Soup in December. The 2019 albums Fishing for Fishies and Infest the Rats' Nest saw the band incorporate boogie rock and thrash metal into their sound, respectively. In early 2020, they released three live albums and pledged to donate all proceeds of their sales towards relief of the 2019–20 Australian bushfires.

After the feedback Anderson received from the Rabbit Junk singles, he decided to start work on a new EP, entitled "Pop That Pretty Thirty" which was released in 2014, shortly followed by their first live EP, "Live 2014". In January 2015 the band released the "Invasion" EP, with Anderson has since stating in interviews that Rabbit Junk will no longer release full-length albums and will only release extended plays, aiming for 2 per year, as it allows for more creative freedom and not being confined to fixed concepts. In July 2015, Rabbit Junk's Facebook page changed its imagery to tease their next release, "Beast", released on October 28 2015. On February 9 2016, the band released "Singles from the Lost Years 2011–2013", which contained remastered and alternate versions of all the singles that were released in between "Project Nonagon" and "Pop That Pretty Thirty".

Rabbit Junk officially announced the release of Rabbit Junk Will Die: Meditations on Mortality, their first full-length album in eight years, in late 2017, and released it January 2018. Anderson has confirmed the preparation and release of a remix album for Rabbit Junk Will Die for mid-2018. In July 2019, Rabbit Junk confirmed that they had re-obtained the rights to their pre-2011 recordings and would be re-releasing the original albums Rabbit Junk, Reframe, This Life Is Where You Get Fucked, and Project Nonagon through Bandcamp with new original artwork by frequent collaborator Andrew Tremblay, and proceeded to release them over the next few months, alongside the Reveal EP. In December of that year, Anderson announced another album with a tentative release date for 2020, later titling it Xenospheres. The first single "Bits & Razors" was released in April of 2020 and was followed up by "Prismatic" in July.
