Nobody Special was a Christian punk band that originated in 1986 formed in Orange County, California after a recording was made by Pat Nobody and studio musicians Gene Eugene, Joey Mitchell, Chris Brigandi and his brother, Joey Taylor. The band disbanded in 1990, reunited in 1996, disbanded in 1997, and reunited again in 2011 with the lineup of Pat Nobody, Frank Black, Rod Reasner and Dave Schad.

Joey "Ojo" Taylor is an American bassist, vocalist, and keyboardist best known for his work with the Christian rock band Undercover. He produced and was a studio musician for Nobody Special, the stage name for his brother, Pat "Nobody" Taylor. Taylor co-owned the Brainstorm Artists International record label with songwriter and Adam Again frontman, Gene Eugene. He received his MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles and MM from California State University, Fullerton.

Headnoise, is early eighties old school female fronted, guitar driven, powerfully fast hardcore punkrock. Founded in 1994 from the streets of Los Angeles, they have shared the stage with bands like, DI, Agent Orange, Chron Gen, JFA, T.S.O.L., Circle One, 7 seconds, Decry, Shattered Faith, Spider and others. They were on the forefront of the Southern California-based "JCHC" underground movement, along with Officer Negative, following in the footsteps of bands like The Crucified, Nobody Special, and Scaterd Few.

The band formed at Tomfest 1995 and was a side project of the Blamed's Bryan Gray. For their debut album, Pride Kills (1996), alongside Chris Colbert (Breakfast with Amy), Darren Diolosa (aka Klank), and Jesse Smith (Zao). In the 21st century, developments in Christian punk have paralleled the broader punk scene, with bands such as Relient K, Hawk Nelson, FM Static, Flatfoot 56, Stellar Kart, and This Providence becoming popular with more mainstream audiences.
