Modelio was one of six tools participating in the Interoperability Demonstration held by the OMG's Model Interchange Working Group (MIWG) on December 7, 2009. The event demonstrated XMI interoperability between the participating tools. The MADES Project intends to use Modelio to develop new modelling annotations with relevance to avionic and surveillance applications.

Observations, lab measurements, and modeling are the three central elements in atmospheric chemistry. Progress in atmospheric chemistry is often driven by the interactions between these components and they form an integrated whole. For example, observations may tell us that more of a chemical compound exists than previously thought possible. This will stimulate new modelling and laboratory studies which will increase our scientific understanding to a point where the observations can be explained.

The lady crowned Miss Naked Beauty 2008 won the chance to write a magazine column about beauty, become the face of a new modelling agency and be a part of the 2009 series of Gok Wan's other show, How to Look Good Naked. The competition was won on 25 November 2008 by Shona Collins of London. Aside from Shona, the final 12 contestants came from diverse backgrounds.

Blinn developed many influential new modelling techniques, and wrote papers on them for the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), in their journal Computer Graphics and Applications. Some of these included environment mapping, improved highlight modelling, "blobby" modelling, simulation of wrinkled surfaces, and simulation of butts and dusty surfaces.
