State Road 52 exists primarily as a six-lane commercial strip between US 19 and Moon Lake Road. In 2007, the road was widened to six lanes between Moon Lake Road and Suncoast Parkway, but most of the development taking place here has been residential so far. On the Southeast corner of the Suncoast Parkway interchange, there is a Florida State Police barracks and Florida Division of Forestry fire tower. The road narrows down to four lanes and then two as it enters Fivay Junction and approaches Shady Hills Road, before crossing the Pithlachascotee River.
At the fall of Rome, the empire's colossal nation stream is divided into many smaller streams of Barbaric Kingdoms. As history advances, the nation streams, being first wavy, gradually straighten up, probably to illustrate how history becomes more certain and undisputed as it narrows down to the present. The independence of many colonies is clearly shown as big nation streams standing for colonial empires split into several smaller streams. World War I and World War II are indicated by bold black lines behind the streams with a thickness determined by their duration.
Further southeast, it passes through a roundabout in the central portion of Spring Creek where it intersects Spring Creek Parkway and Licht Parkway. Further southeast, near Palace Parkway, it again narrows down to just 2 lanes and turns due east, though it maintains the 55 mph speed limit. Just before entering the small town of Lamoille, it intersects Lamoille Canyon Road, a National Forest Scenic Byway which heads up into Lamoille Canyon. The speed limit finally reduces down to 25 mph as it enters the small town of Lamoille.

The national finals of Miss Dance are organised by the IDTA and are held annually at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. During the finals, the competitors compete in a series of dance-offs, judged by a panel of specialist adjudicators. This narrows down the number of competitors to a selection of finalists, who then perform again for the judges in the grand final and the winner of the Miss Dance title is awarded. The winner of Miss Dance of Great Britain receives a trophy and a cash prize, with trophies also being awarded for the runner-up and 3rd places.
North of Piercy, the freeway portion again ends and the road narrows down to two lanes, before another stretch of divided highway. Arriving in Humboldt County, another narrow two lane portion of US 101 bisects Richardson Grove State Park. Just after the park boundary, the highway switches to a short undivided freeway and then eventually a divided freeway just before reaching Garberville. North of Garberville, US 101 reverts to an undivided freeway, which continuing north by northwest, passes through the Humboldt Redwoods State Park, California's third largest State Park and the site of the largest remaining Redwood old growth forest in the world.
The leaders of the Rwanda districts gives Agahozo - Shalom a list of those teenagers who are in need of attending school. The organisation narrows down the list to 200 and visits the students to decide if the village would be a good fit. The organisation is maintained by a structure based on family. "Families" of students in every grade is split up by gender and they receive a "Mama", a Rwandan educator who lives in the house with them, a "big brother" or "big sister", a guidance counselor who visits weekly, and a foreign "cousin" volunteer who stays for a year.
The road also passes various government offices, before intersecting with SR 44. After SR 44, CR 491 narrows down to two lanes and descends into a valley, especially as it approached the road to the Lecanto Post Office. Just as it approaches a series of medical offices, the road curves to the northwest and then at the County Department of Mosquito Control office, curves to the northeast, where it will stay through much of the county. The road widens once again and this time turns into a divided highwaybefore it approaches CR 486, also known as West Norvelle Bryant Highway.
According to Jayoung Yoon, Singapore's aging population and low fertility rates are resulting in more women joining the labor force in response to the government's desire to improve the economy. The government provides tax relief to mothers in the workforce to encourage them to continue working. Yoon states that "as female employment increases, the gender gap in employment rates…narrows down" in Singapore. The Global Gender Gap Report 2015 ranks Singapore's gender gap at 54th out of 145 states globally based on the economic participation and opportunity, the educational attainment, the health and survival, and the political empowerment sub-indexes (a lower rank means a smaller gender gap).
Much of the northern part of the ridge is a broad whaleback, but it narrows down considerably further south, and especially near to Llanthony Priory in the Vale of Ewyas to the west of the mountain. There is a large and prominent landslip on the eastern side of the mountain here, known as Black Darren, where a large slice of the rocks has fallen away from the main mass of the hill. The ridge to the southwest ends abruptly at the sheer cliff known as the Darren below which is a considerable landslipped area extending south to the hamlet of Cwmyoy with its mis-shapen church.
A firm criterion for the Winter Olympics is the availability of adequate alpine skiing venues, which narrows down potential locations significantly. The men's downhill requires a minimum vertical drop of , with a course length of around . Bormio and Cortina are notable regular stops on the World Cup circuit for men's and women's downhills, respectively. For the 2026 Winter Olympics, the IOC allowed a longer distance between events, so that alpine skiing can be held in a mountain area, and indoor sports such as ice hockey and figure skating can be held in a large city more than away, where such arenas are already available or have greater usage after the games.
Naturally, the next intersection is Fifth Street, which leads to the Old City Hall and the Woman's Club of Chipley. The route begins at the intersection of State Road 50 and the western terminus of State Road 50A. From that intersection it narrows down to two lanes, as it approaches a four-way stop intersection and accompanying red blinker-lights with CR 484 (West Ford Dade Avenue). Two old sections of Cobb Road used to exist. One is to the right north of CR 484 (Old Cobb Road), and the other is a mining road that runs northwest (Camp Mine Road) from the intersection with Yontz Road (Former County Road 485B) (see below), to an isolated section of County Road 476 (Lake Lindsey Road) in Stafford.

After passing Silver Street, it loses the center turning lane and crosses a bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad and the Humboldt River. It narrows down to 2 lanes after passing Wilson Avenue, then loses the center turning lane beyond Carlin Court, all the while turning towards a northeasterly direction and becoming known as Lamoille Highway.
It narrows down to a two-lane undivided highway which runs on a peninsula, with a parallel park access road on the north side and a bicycle lane on the south side. The western interchange indicates a potential proposal to widen the road to a possible four-lane divided highway that was never built. The peninsula ends in North Haven, where Noyack–Long Beach Road becomes Short Beach Road at Third Street. CR 60 ends at a traffic circle at NY 114 and Tyndall Road, although NY 114 continues in the same direction as Short Beach Road until it curves to the north and reaches the South Ferry Port to Shelter Island.
U.S. Route 221 begins in the City of Perry at the intersection of US 19-98-Alt 27 at the northern terminus of CR 361A. Almost a mile () north of that point, the Brooksville Subdivision banks off to the northwest, while US 41 prepares to squeeze between some lakes for which the hamlet is named. North of County Road 583 (Ehren Cutoff) in the former community of Denham, the road narrows down to four lanes but remains divided as it curves to the northwest. Here, the road crosses the former right-of-way for a railroad line that ran between Tarpon Springs and Trilby until the mid-1970s.

The rest of the way through the county it includes both names "East James Lee Boulevard" and "Old Spanish Trail", as it meanders around rural Okaloosa County.
Meanwhile, after making a reverse curve over a bridge above a CSX Railroad Line that is used by Amtrak's Silver Star and Silver Meteor lines, US 98 breaks away in West Frostproof, taking SR 700 with it. In the opposite direction of this intersection is a continuation of County Road 630. After passing by Warner University, Crooked Lake Park and County Road 640, US 27 becomes slightly less rural as it approaches an un-numbered partial cloverleaf interchange with State Road 60 in Lake Wales. North of this point, US 27 becomes a six-lane highway, and remains that way until reaching State Road 540 in Waverly, Florida, where the road narrows down to four lanes again.
From a point between Newport and Cosby to the intersection with the Little River Road, it is concurrent with SR 73. In Pigeon Forge, concurrent with US 441/Great Smoky Mountains Parkway, US 321 is a divided, multi-lane traffic-laden thoroughfare where it serves as the city's main route, lined with hotels, outlet malls and amusement facilities. Veering southwest of Pigeon Forge, the highway takes on a more rural character as it traverses Wears Valley, and narrows down to two lanes until its junction with SR 73 Scenic (the Little River Road) at the Townsend entrance to the park. It is concurrent with SR 73 from this junction to its terminus.
After the death of an elderly Greek man who is an internationally famous art dealer and collector, his attorney discovers that his will is missing and notifies the district attorney. When it is exhumed, however, it contains no will but the surprising addition of a strangled ex-convict. Ellery performs an extended piece of deduction in public early on in the novel that concerns a number of used teacups, and is proved wrong.
At Exit 24 US 129 leaves across from the unmarked Old Cornelia Highway, and I-985 ends, while the US 23/GA 365 concurrency continues north as an at-grade highway that has potential to be upgraded to interstate standards. In the meantime, US 129 briefly turns west along Georgia State Route 369 (Jesse Jewell Parkway), before turning right onto Limestone Parkway, and is joined by SR 11 once again. North of Georgia State Route 284 the road curves west to encounter the northern terminus of GA Business Route 11, and Cleveland Highway continues north onto US 129/SR 11, which narrows down to two lanes with a center-left turn lane running north-northwest.

From that intersection it narrows down to two lanes, as it approaches a four-way stop intersection and accompanying red blinker-lights with County Road 484 (West Ford Dade Avenue).
At the crossing over the Withlacoochee River, two former sections of the road exist on the east side of the river; Paul N. Steckle Lane, and Ridge Manor Boulevard. The shorter Paul N. Steckle Lane exists on the north side and contains a Hernando County Firehouse, local residences, and one entrance to the Cypress Lake Preserve. Ridge Manor Boulevard begins on the south side, and crosses over to the north side east of the firehouse and west of the Hernando County Eastside Solid Waste Convenience Station. At the intersection with Tenth Avenue, SR 590 turns north again, and three blocks later intersects Main Street(CR 576), where it turns right, thus serving as the terminus of CR 576.
A firm criterion for the Winter Olympics is the availability of alpine ski slopes of certain sizes, which narrows down potential locations significantly, and often necessitates locations in less populated areas. The men's downhill requires at least altitude difference along a course of around in length. For the 2026 Winter Olympics the IOC allowed a longer distance between events, so that alpine skiing can be held in a mountain area, and sports such as ice hockey and figure skating can be held in a large city more than away where such arenas are already available or have greater usage after the games. A certain spectator capacity is required, which is most often 10,000 but varies according to the particular sport.
The route starts out in a northeasterly direction, but as it sweeps by the southeast corner of the former Woodville Mall, it turns due east, as it lines itself up with the boundary between Lake Township and the City of Northwood. SR 579, which starts out briefly as a five-lane road, quickly narrows down to two lanes, and enters into a more rural setting. Passing by a mix of generally flat open space and subdivisions, SR 579 intersects Bradner Road and Millbury Road on the way to its intersection with Fostoria Road, which marks the boundary between Wood and Ottawa Counties. Once it enters into Ottawa County's Allen Township, SR 579 continues on an easterly path, traversing numerous fields and passing by the occasional house.
The commercial strip ends after a dirt road named North Tennessee Street. "Route 66" splits from East 12th Street at an intersection that's another connecting road to the eastbound off-ramp of Exit 164, the then runs over the overpass above I-40 to turn right at the frontage road along the westbound lanes leading to the western beginning of the business loop. Eastbound Business Interstate Route 40-J narrows down to a two-lane undivided highway before passing by a TxDOT construction and maintenance facility, and then leaves the frontage road at the on ramp to eastbound I-40, where it meets its terminus. The frontage roads along both sides of I-40 continue through three more interchanges before crossing the Texas-Oklahoma State Line.
The road narrows down to two lanes and runs beneath a Kansas City Southern Railroad line, but emerges from beneath the bridge to enter "downtown" Sallisaw as a two-lane concrete road with parallel parking, and run parallel to a former Missouri Pacific Railroad line, now owned by Union Pacific Railroad. The former MoPac Depot is now the Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library. US 59 leaves the overlap at North Wheeler Avenue and BL-40 continues to follow US 64, along East Cherokee Avenue, which become a four-lane undivided highway before Wheeler Avenue. East of North Dogwood Street, BL-40/US 64 curves to the southeast, away from the former MoPac line, and resumes as a standard contemporary commercial strip.
Running under power lines, the surroundings become rural and increasing mountainous. Center-left turn lanes are provided almost continuously until the Old River Pointe cluster development where the road narrows down to two lanes just before the bridge over the Chattahoochee River, followed by a Georgia State Patrol station, where the center lane begins again and it takes a sharp curve to the northeast. The south side of this segment contains mostly light commercial development, while the north side, though containing one gas station is either residential or vacant. One local street leads to Little River Park After passing a cemetery, it curves to a more northerly direction before it crosses the Bells Mill Bridge over the East Fork of the Little River at Lake Lanier.
As it runs past Lindenwood University BL-70/MO 94 curves around a former segment of First Capitol Drive, then re-encounters that road as BL-70 makes a sharp right turn to the east while MO 94 continues to the northeast along Kings Highway. First Capitol Drive runs at a straight line towards Riverside Drive and the Katy Trail State Park along the Missouri River, but BL-70 doesn't go that far. Instead, it makes a sharp right turn at South Fifth Street, which becomes North Fifth Street two blocks north of this intersection. South Fifth Street is four lanes wide with a center left-turn lanes for one block, but narrows down to two lanes between Jackson and Tompkins Streets, only to widen again south of McDonough Street.
After the route curves towards the east-southeast, Shell Road returns to SC 905 across from the intersection with "Highway 66," not to be confused with South Carolina Highway 66, followed by a pair of housing developments across from one another, with a divided road on each side. Curving back to the east-northeast, the road starts to widen with a continuous center-left turn lane as it approaches the interchange with South Carolina Highway 22, which is a partial diamond interchange on the west side, and a quarter-cloverleaf interchange on the northeast corner. After the interchange it narrows down to two lanes again, and approaches. the second signalized intersection east of Conway which is Red Bluff Road and "Highway 31 East," which also has no connection to South Carolina Highway 31.
In 1995 the AISI turned over future maintenance of the system to SAE because the AISI never wrote any of the specifications. Today steel quotes and certifications commonly make reference to both SAE and AISI, not always with precise differentiation. For example, in the alloy/grade field, a certificate might refer to "4140", "AISI 4140", or "SAE 4140", and in most light-industrial applications any of the above is accepted as adequate, and considered equivalent, for the job at hand, as long as the specific specification called out by the designer (for example, "4140 bar per ASTM-A108" or "4140 bar per AMS 6349") is certified to on the certificate. The alloy number is simply a general classifier, whereas it is the specification itself that narrows down the steel to a very specific standard.
Using the clues she obtained while confronting "X", and with the help of her coworkers, Zahra tracks "X"'s activities to Reptarria, the Funderdome, and Gootopia. Zahra clears the trials of each world and respectively defeats crime bosses Ripjaw, Hancho, and even RIFT's own Freya Gronnalva, narrowing down her suspect list; as she does this, Zahra runs into a counterpart of herself who despises both "X" and RIFT because of an incident where "X" destroyed her world, and is herself horrified at RIFT's corruption. Zahra eventually narrows down her suspect list to her best friend, Skip Hollister, much to her chagrin. After Zahra faces off against Rogue Zahra one last time, it is revealed that the real "X" had framed Skip to commence his invasion of the RIFT headquarters and overheat the station core.
In computer science, the Fibonacci search technique is a method of searching a sorted array using a divide and conquer algorithm that narrows down possible locations with the aid of Fibonacci numbers. Note that the running time analysis is this article is flawed, as pointed out by Overholt (1972). Compared to binary search where the sorted array is divided into two equal- sized parts, one of which is examined further, Fibonacci search divides the array into two parts that have sizes that are consecutive Fibonacci numbers. On average, this leads to about 4% more comparisons to be executed, but it has the advantage that one only needs addition and subtraction to calculate the indices of the accessed array elements, while classical binary search needs bit-shift, division or multiplication, operations that were less common at the time Fibonacci search was first published.
From there it passes by a pair of agriculture-related factories. Though signs on I-94 direct motorists to MT 200S, the road does not encounter that route until Alder Avenue in West Glendive, north of a parallel railroad crossing. Dividing again at another bridge over Dry Creek, the route begins to curve to the east, the road starts to run along the north side of some parkland, which also borders a former section of the road named Crisafulli Drive just before approaching the southern terminus of MT 16 and immediately crosses a railroad line on the border of West Glenside and Glendive. The road narrows down from four lanes with a center left-turn lane to two lanes before crossing the bridge over the Yellowstone River and at the intersection of River Avenue and Douglas Street enters the Merrill Avenue Historic District.

The connection between the two streets are cut off by a shopping center on the north side of NY 25 between Mark Tree and Eastwood Road. It then traverses to the south-southeast, and is cut off by CR 97 (Nicolls Road), Suffolk County Community College, and other county facilities in Farmingville, and joins up with Portion Road from a frontage road west of Nicolls Road named Leeds Boulevard at the interchange with Nicolls Road. The section east of Nicolls Road resumes at Horseblock Place and then joins Portion Road west of Waverly Avenue. The rest of the area is surrounded by portions of city territory, which becomes more widespread as it approaches the southern terminus of SR 89 (Dogwood Drive), but also has a hidden concurrency with SR 89 east of there. A far more visible concurrency exists later on when the road curves back to the east where it meets the intersection with SR 87, the eastern corners of which also includes the intersection of the Blackwater Heritage State Trail.Welcome to Blackwater Heritage State Trail (Florida State Parks; including map) From this point on the road narrows down to two lanes as it runs through the Milton Historic District, an area that has been on the National Register of Historic Places since November 12, 1987 and also includes an intersection with CR 191, which contains the east end of Old US 90\.
2009 Photo of US 41 and Wilson Boulevard in Masaryktown. Within Masaryktown, US 41 remains two lanes wide and serves as the main road, which includes a few small private motels and a restaurant known as Cafe Masaryktown, at a blinker-light intersection.
