But plenty of people are like Mr. Brown, who have the wherewithal but not the will.
And during this show, Mr. Brown was eager to demonstrate his old-fashioned country bona fides.
It was a different story a few minutes earlier when Mr. Lewis and Mr. Brown emerged.

It matters little that the duet was danced by Mr. Brown and a woman, I-Ling Liu.
One of them told Mr. Brown "Yeah, whatever, mon, everything's gonna be alright" in a Jamaican accent.
As ever, a big part of the problem was Mr Blair's failure to take on Mr Brown.
Mr. Brown said he spent months coaxing Whole Foods into selling the burgers in the meat section.

In the lobby of Hamilton, both Mr. Brown and Ms. Spurlock-Evans emphasized that it was a strategic decision.
Without Mr. Brown, Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota is the lone Midwesterner elected to statewide office in the race.

Later, from his balcony, Mr. Brown said, he could see Ms. Guyger pacing outside and talking on the phone.
"Certainly, Vice President Biden, we know his résumé," said Mr. Brown, who like Mr. Buttigieg is a military veteran.
Mr. Brown and his Republican opponents declined to release their returns during the governor's races in 2010 and 2014.
Mr Brown cited the show, which has been running since 2017, as part of the reason for his decision.
A jury sentenced both to be executed, and Mr. Brown, at 16, became the youngest person on death row.

"Having a non-stupid strategy and sticking to it will leave you better off than most people," says Mr Brown.
Still, this project — which has daunted Mr. Brown throughout his years as governor — seems as close to reality as ever.
But Mr. Brown also credits his involvement in guidance programs such as the University of Southern California's Bovard Scholars program.
It said the company had had "no interactions whatsoever with Mr. Brown" and that his accusations are "vexatious and baseless".
"It's crazy," says Mr Brown, who has yet to clear the debt (his record makes it hard to find work).
Worried about a divisive, expensive fight, Mr. Brown embraced compromise: phase in $15 by 2022, giving businesses time to adjust.
Still, officials said that conditions had improved enough that the drastic measures that Mr. Brown announced were no longer needed.
Peeks don't come easy for Mr. Brown, who has always been more of a controlled showman than a freewheeling chef.
The church tried to keep the couple together, but Mr. Brown "was determined to get a divorce," Mr. Wright said.
Mr. Brown makes more from one episode than he did from the entire first season of "Good Eats," he said.
"The at-times bitter verbal battles between Trump and some Republicans leaders is showing in these numbers," Mr. Brown said.
Mr. Brown, like some other Model S owners, posted videos showing the driver with no hands on the steering wheel.
"We pray that we would never be cut flowers, that we would always have roots," Mr. Brown told the congregation.
Mr. Brown then told the story of hearing a radio program lamenting the looming extinction of a type of butterfly.
Mr. Brown, first appointed to the commission by Mayor Abraham D. Beame in 1977, wielded power for nearly five years.
Mr. Brown also anchored a separate set with the keyboardist Marc Cary, improvising over rhythm loops made in real-time.
When he's not thrashing about in a tub of self-disgust, however, Mr. Brown is charming, thoughtful and edifying company.
Mr. Brown, 27, was due to be processed, said Officer Rosario Herrera, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department.
The police determined that it was a suicide, but Mr. Brown still believes that his father may have been murdered.
Mr. Brown, who declined a request for an interview, has benefited from spending most of his life in elected office.
"As a general matter, I am opposed to adding more mandatory minimum sentences," Mr. Brown wrote in a signing statement.
The judge then convened an unusual hearing, questioning the investigators who had interviewed Mr. Brown, as well as his lawyer.
"When she was finished reading it I'd pick it up, flip back and start with the sports," Mr. Brown said.
He began talking weekly with Mr. Brown, the only other person who could truly understand what he had been through.
Mr. Brown recently filed a defamation lawsuit against the broadcaster, CTV, which has said it will vigorously defend its reporting.
"We are just following the law, and the law allows people to be advised of their rights," Mr. Brown said.
Mr. Berk, Mr. Brown and Mr. France are joined by Antoni Porowski (food and wine) and Jonathan Van Ness (grooming).
"What's out there is darkness, uncertainty, decline and recession," Mr. Brown said recently after presenting his final budget to legislators.
She was performing at Bard, where she met Mr. Brown on the day of her show to talk about collaborating.
Such an act will take political will and moral clarity, both of which Mr. Brown has demonstrated in the past.
"The title was just a pipe dream," Mr. Brown told the website of Dusters California, a skateboard maker, in 21971.
Mr. Brown believes that the source is a hydrant up on Jay Street leaking into the substrate of the street.
After more than 21982 years, Mr. Brown, 270, is entering what he says are his final months in public life.
"I think it's getting close to the end," Mr. Brown said, as his dog, Colusa, slept in the next chair.
Police said Mr. Brown stabbed the women in the apartment of his former girlfriend, Angela Valle, where he sometimes stayed.
"Every time I'd go out with John, I'd hear a story that could be its own film," Mr. Brown said.
Still, Mr. Brown added that the criticism would probably be muted to avoid provoking a backlash in the United States.
"Words on a paper won't stop jobs from going to Mexico, unless there's real teeth behind them," Mr. Brown said.
Perhaps more important, Mr. Brown projects a grizzled authenticity that endears his brand of progressivism to even some conservative voters.
The space is rented by Ms. Owens, Gavin Brown and Wendy Yao, not just by Ms. Owens and Mr. Brown.
Economists also expressed concern that the exit of Mr. Brown could open the way for more spending by the Legislature.
"One day your dad is going to die, but bacon will always be there for you," Mr. Brown counseled. Evilicious.
Mr. Brown, the radio host, remained worried about Mr. Trump's temperament, but saw the hand of God in his victory.
The schools all offered Mr. Brown a full ride through a mix of merit- and financial-based scholarships and grants.
Mr. Britt tried and convicted Mr. Artis for that crime before he put Mr. McCollum and Mr. Brown on trial.
After Mr. Megaro's fees and loan payments, Mr. McCollum would net $178,000 and Mr. Brown $308,000 from the police settlement.

As of Sunday evening, investigators had not interviewed her or Mr. Brown and were still trying to determine a motive for the fatal attack.
"McDonald's is renowned for its food safety protocols and I am sorry that this happened in my restaurant here in Lethbridge," Mr. Brown said.
" Mr. Brown said that when Mr. Muller first presented him with the idea, his reaction was "wild enthusiasm with a little bit of disbelief.
