In an experiment, when these two species were caged together with only vertical surfaces available, it was found that L. scabra grew at a much slower rate and achieved a much smaller maximum size than similar limpets in control plots. It seems that the ability of L. digitalis to respond to seasonal changes by moving up and down the shore and utilising resources better give it an edge over the more static species which remains for life in its restricted home range.

At Free Town, Sierra Leone, Carey boarded a Douglas DC-2 and flew to Takoradi in Ghana with the senior staff, leaving the rest of the squadron to sail on. From there, they flew in a Douglas DC-3 to Khartoum. On the way across Carey flew the aircraft but became the butt of a practical joke when the men kept moving up and down the aircraft to upset its centre of gravity which forced an irritated Carey to keep trimming the elevators. From there a flight in a Short Empire to Cairo was taken in order to report to Air Force Headquarters.
In this gradual process, the string, moving up and down according to its frequency, will make a periodic grazing contact with the curved surface of the bridge. The exact grazing-spot will gradually shift up the sloping surface, as a function of the decreasing amplitude, finally dissolving into the rest- position of the open string. In this complex dynamic sonation process, the shifting grazing will touch upon micro-nodes on the string, exciting a wide range of harmonics in a sweeping mode. The desired effect is that of a cascading row of harmonics in a rainbow of sound.
Fans of North Carolina State University Wolfpack athletics use a similar gesture with the middle and ring fingers moving up and down over the thumb to mimic a wolf's jaw. Fans of University of California, Irvine Anteaters use a similar sign with the middle and ring fingers out to resemble the head of the mighty anteater. Fans of University of Nevada, Reno Wolf Pack athletics use a similar sign with the middle and ring fingers out to resemble the wolf's snout. A variation of this hand gesture is also used in the professional wrestling industry, which fans dub the "Too Sweet".
On the third tier, there will be a hotel with 2,500 rooms, while the top tier is a residential block for more than 300 homes. Despite the structure's extraordinary height, Howe talks of "putting some horizontal into the building", of "artificial ground levels and no bottlenecks moving up and down the building". People will use high-speed lifts to shuttle between tiers, and slower ones to reach individual floors. Though Kajima is sticking with proven technology, it is taking conventional lift design to the limit with cables as long as 600 metres to provide the building's most direct service.
The sampling apparatus can be fixed horizontally, only moving up and down to allow the carousel to move, or it can also move horizontally, depending on the design of the system. The sampling apparatus in most of such autosamplers consist of a needle connected to a remote pumping syringe via tubing. Similar designs have been employed for titrators, which do not have a sampling apparatus, but a titration apparatus. Another common design for autosamplers for liquids is of a sampling apparatus that moves freely in the 3D space, similarly to CNC routers and 3D printers, for instance.
Dundurn Press. p.81. The phenomenon has been featured on the television series Unsolved Mysteries and entails a strange light moving up and down along an old abandoned rail line at night, changing colours and varying in brightness. The line, located south of Prince Albert and north of St. Louis, has had its tracks removed, but the phenomenon still occurs on a regular basis. Several stories attempt to explain the lights, including that it is a ghost train, or the ghost of a drunk brakeman who lost his head to a passing train and now wanders up and down the tracks with a lantern attempting to find it.
He returned to sandanme after a 6-1 record in March 2012 and a run of kachi-koshi (winning records) saw him promoted to makushita (third division) in January 2013. After moving up and down between sandanme and makushita several times he established himself in the higher division and began a steady climb through the ranks. In September 2016 a 4-3 result at the rank of makushita 3 saw him promoted to the second juryo division for the first time. He returned to makushita after recording a 5-10 record in November but was promoted back to juryo after two consecutive kachi- koshi.
Although wary of strangers, they can accept them when it is clear that no harm is imminent, being instinctively very protective of its family, home, and possessions. The Komondor is very good with other family pets, often very protective over them, but is intolerant to trespassing animals and is not a good dog for an apartment. The dog is vigilant and will rest in the daytime, keeping an eye on its surroundings, but at night is constantly moving, patrolling the place, moving up and down around its whole territory. The dogs will usually knock down intruders and keep them down until its owner arrives.
It was a big relief for the club when it was promotion to the national competitions (4th Division) for the first time in 1959, following many closely missed attempts at qualification. One of the players taking part in the promotion was Erik Bundgaard, whose 421 matches for VFF is still club record. Except for a couple of seasons in the start of the 1970s, Viborg has not been relegated to a tournament lower than the national competitions since 1959. Though the country's best league have been domicile for Viborg, during the last couple of years the club has been moving up and down between the country's two best leagues.
The music video, directed by Joseph Kahn, is based on Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo, a film dealing with acrophobia.Q48 on the FNM website Shooting occurred during 1997 in San Francisco, California. It features the lead singer, Mike Patton dressed in the same outfit as James Stewart's character, trailing a blonde played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, respectively dressed the same as Vertigo 's female lead Madeleine. Many scenes are recreated from the film, such as the opening rooftop sequence, Madeleine's plunge into San Francisco bay, Mike moving up and down a stepladder, the belltower sequence complete with the famous Hitchcock Zoom and the psychedelic dream sequence.
The same daughter who allegedly saw the ghost on the staircase also reported seeing two phantom men apparently fighting on another staircase on the southwest side earlier in the 19th century. Early in the 20th century, she also reported an "immensely evil" presence in the southwest bedroom, moving around the room and then leaning over the bed. In the same room, a visitor to the house once thought she saw a floating hand, not attached to any arm, attaching itself to her four-poster bed and moving up and down it. Another visitor later reported an identical experience, and also said that the bed seemed to be shaking during the encounter.
Groovy Arche is the same game featured in the PlayStation and PlayStation Portable remakes of Tales of Phantasia released only in Japan. The player must control the character Arche as she flies across a horizontally scrolling screen, moving up and down as well as side to side firing bolts of magic energy at enemies to defeat them. In each round, Arche can score more points by not only defeating a large number of monsters, but also by collecting several items that appear on the screen for a short amount of time. The game is over whenever Arche's health, indicated by the life bar on the top of the screen, is depleted.
With Brown producing and the trade- deadline acquisition of Jeff Carter, the Kings were one of the highest-scoring NHL teams down the stretch and made the playoffs as an eighth seed. After moving up-and-down the lineup for most of the year, Brown found stability playing on the first line with Anže Kopitar and Justin Williams. That line would remain intact throughout the entire 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs. Brown hoisting the Stanley Cup at the Kings' 2012 championship parade Brown recorded four goals and one assist in the first round against the first-seeded Vancouver Canucks, including two shorthanded goals in a 4–2 Game 2 win.
In order to create a sheet wave, water is pumped up and over a surface which is engineered to replicate the shape of an ocean wave. The result is a stationary wave in which a rider can mimic the movements of other board sports, such as moving up and down the wave, carving, and jumping. Since the wave does not move forward, the riders movement is derived from the water flowing over the stationary surface. There are seven different types of sheet waves that can be used for flowriding however the two main wave structures which are recognized at a competitive level are the FlowRider Single and Double and the FlowBarrel.
At the end of the tunnel a 'metal smell' referred to the anvils, a symbol of the recent industrial past. Maciá's 'Ten Notes for a Human Symphony’ was first presented at the Thessaloniki Biennale, Greece in 2009. This sculpture consists of ten canvas curtains slowing moving up and down, each one impregnated with a unique scent. For ‘Ten Notes for a Human Symphony’ the artist gathered a lock of human hair that had never been chemically treated from men and women living in Argentina, India, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Peru, Russia, Syria and Tibet. Each lock of hair was analysed in a Paris perfume laboratory using the technique known as ‘headspace’.
Quantum mechanics gives rise to a series of distinct electron energy levels, or bands, that vary from material to material. Each band can hold a certain number of electrons; if the atom has more electrons then they are forced into higher energy bands. In the presence of external energy some of the electrons will gain energy and move back up the energy bands, before releasing this and falling back down the bands again. With the constant application of external energy, like the thermal energy present at room temperature, an equilibrium is reached where the population of electrons moving up and down the bands is equal.
In June 2012, a new game mode called "Mystery Duck" was introduced. It is a revisit of previous levels from the main game except the player has to deal three special kinds of ducks. They are the MegaDuck, a large duck that requires a large amount of water to fill; Ducklings, a group of 10 tiny ducks (which can easily be filled with a drop of water); and the tuxedo-clad Mystery Duck, which goes around an entire level either by disappearing and reappearing in certain spots or physically moving up and down and side to side. Like "Cranky's Story", a one-time in-app purchase was required to play beyond the first five levels.
The six degrees of freedom of movement of a ship Attitude degrees of freedom for an airplane The motion of a ship at sea has the six degrees of freedom of a rigid body, and is described as:Summary of ship movement Translation and rotation: # Moving up and down (elevating/heaving); # Moving left and right (strafing/swaying); # Moving forward and backward (walking/surging); # Swivels left and right (yawing); # Tilts forward and backward (pitching); # Pivots side to side (rolling). See also Euler angles The trajectory of an airplane in flight has three degrees of freedom and its attitude along the trajectory has three degrees of freedom, for a total of six degrees of freedom.
An aborted attempt at a trip around the world with a friend piqued his interest in the American Southwest, and he began a tour through Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico, moving up and down the eastern foothills of the Rocky Mountains. He moved to Greenwich Village and attended The New School before dropping out to live as a postulant in Holy Cross Monastery (West Park, New York). The lifestyle of meditation, silence and artistic creation suited him, and he later recalled it as the happiest time of his life. However, he felt strongly that he did not have a vocation there, and left with a solidified admiration for the communal rites and values of monasticism.
And like baseball, that shielding is higher in the areas where pucks are most likely to go into the stands: behind the goals. But unlike baseball, the gameplay is more flowing and continuous and requires fans to keep their eyes on a puck moving up and down the rink which may be difficult to see, much less anticipate.Price at 16 Hockey was first played in the United State in the 1890s; professional leagues had formed within two decades and the Boston Bruins, the first American team in the National Hockey League, began playing in 1924; on lower levels the sport was primarily played in Northeastern and Midwestern states with cold winters. Lawsuits over injuries from pucks leaving the rink were first reported in the mid-1930s.
This was the location of the mechanical displays for the range and height strobes, the range being indicated by rotating the drum and the height as an arrow-shaped pointer moving up and down the left side of the display. A radar measures the slant range to a target, not its distance measured over the ground. By reading a series of lines on the Height Drum where one of the lines intersected the tip of the height arrow, the operator could read off the ground distance to the target. This feature was of little use in the ASV role, where low altitude flying meant the slant range was similar to the ground range and was later modified to be used primarily with the BABS system.
Panasonic also announced a new Leica-labeled 14–150 mm superzoom lens for the Four Thirds standard, also with optical image stabilization. The Lumix DMC-L10 featured improvements to the live view facility, permitting the image to be previewed on the LCD screen when composing the shot. The Lumix DMC-L10 has a second-generation live view function that allows autofocus with live view turned on, and without the mirror moving up and down, although only with certain lenses. Even more important, the Lumix DMC-L10 is the first DSLR camera with a fully articulating LCD monitor and live view system, allowing the user to hold the camera at pretty much any angle while still being able to see the LCD.
Replacement filters are difficult to find, and adapters that allow the use of more commonly available filters have appeared in the aftermarket. To counteract the vibration that occurs naturally in a parallel twin, Yamaha introduced a system they called the "Omni-Phase balancer". The Omni-Phase system used one chain-driven weighted shaft in the engine sump rotating in the direction opposite that of the crankshaft to counteract forces created by the pistons moving up and down the inclined axis of the piston bores. A second shaft with weights rotating in the same direction as the crankshaft counteracted the force couple created by the difference in the vertical height of the fore-and-aft forces created by the crankshaft and the first balance shaft.
To play the instrument, the musician holds he open end of the gourd against his or her chest chest and plucks the copper string with a "tubular" plectrum of copper or plastic, worn on the fourth finger. The musician controls the pitch of the notes by applying pressure on the string near the gourd with the first finger, moving up and down on the string. Pressure is applied and released to let the note sound; pressure and release are tools the musician can use to bend sound or control the way the sound falls off at the end of a pitch. Harmonics may be adjusted with the left hand by moving it to open and close the seal of the gourd against the player's chest.
Rear view (1988 coupe) The Reatta featured twin bucket seats with a storage area behind the seats featuring two lockable bins and a lockable access hatch to the rear trunk. At introduction, options included 16-way power seats in lieu of 6-way power seats, side moldings in either black or body color and pinstripe delete. A sunroof became optional in late 1988, and in 1989 keyless entry was added as a standard feature. Reatta had the distinction of being Buick's only car with pop-up headlamps with entire headlamp assembly moving up and down. The other Buick cars with hidden headlamps, Riviera (1965–1969) and Skyhawk (1987–1989 for certain trim levels), had the fixed headlamps hidden behind the moveable covers.
The term "barometer game" refers to any session in which all tables play the same group of deals concurrently in each round, permitting publication of meaningful standings after completion of each round. The term comes from the practice of displaying standings upon completion of each round, and sometimes upon completion of each board, with competitors moving up and down like a barometer. Although people sometimes say "Barometer Movement" in reference to any movement used in a barometer game, there really is no specific movement by that name. Rather, a barometer game can use any of the movements for individual or pair games described below, but with each table playing the groups of boards in order from first to last rather than as indicated in the tables.
Multiple rows of armor from the holotype of Doswellia kaltenbachi The neck of Doswellia was long and flexible, although also heavily armored, so it was likely incapable of bending above the horizontal, instead probably being used more for downwards and lateral (side- to-side) movement. The body was also probably incapable of moving up and down to much of an extent due to the extensive and overlapping armor plating which characterizes the genus. The chest would have been much more likely to have flexed laterally (like most living reptiles and amphibians) while the animal was walking. The first few tail vertebrae were similar to the body vertebrae, so the front of the tail would probably have been held level with the body.
A second-place finish in 1994 kept the club in fourth-division play in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg for a single season, after which they were relegated to the now fifth division Verbandliga Südbaden. Since the turn of the millennium the club has played as an "elevator side" moving up and down between the Verbandsliga and Oberliga. Villingen currently plays in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg (IV) after being promoted following their latest Verbandsliga title in 2006. In the 2014–15 season the club came third-last in the league and was nominally relegated but the withdrawal of VfR Aalen II and the promotion of Bahlinger SC to the Regionalliga meant Villingen survived in the league for another season before being relegated in 2016.
A former resident of the Hall during its time as staff accommodation commented that this apparition would appear to children living there at that time when they were sick in bed - she would come and sit beside them and stroke their hair. Previous occupants of the same rooms on the first floor have also reported the ghost of a dog and another apparition of a dark figure carrying a lighted candle. The main staircase at the back of the Hall is haunted by the sound of two children at play - their voices are heard and the sound of them moving up and down the staircase, with the sound of rainfall in the background even if the weather outside is sunny.
Though Mendelssohn said of the concerto "I wrote it in but a few days and almost carelessly", the concerto was extremely popular--partially due to the efforts of Clara Schumann and Franz Liszt. Hector Berlioz described what happened to an Érard piano on which the concerto was too often played: > ...the piano, which is out of its mind, has no intention of paying him any > heed either. He sends for holy water and sprinkles the keyboard with it, but > in vain--proof that it wasn't witchcraft but merely the natural result of > thirty performances of one concerto. They take the keyboard out of the > instrument--the keys are still moving up and down by themselves--and they > throw it into the middle of the courtyard next to the warehouse.
In 1973, the British Ministry of Defence (MOD) added to their catalog of standard issue gear a new item named, “Strap, Wrist Watch”. These wristwatch straps were classified as being “Admiralty Grey” in color, 20mm in width, and they were equipped with chrome- plated brass buckles. The strap was constructed from two pieces of nylon fabric — a longer piece to wrap around the wrist, and another shorter piece that loops behind the watch case to prevent the case from moving up and down the strap. These MOD watch straps were eventually nicknamed G10 straps in reference to the G10 form that had to be filled out to order one. The NATO designation came about in reference to the 13-digit inventory “NATO Stock Number” (NSN) assigned to the strap.
The team formulates a plan to do a surveillance mission out in the waters near the Takamar 6, but once out to sea, they realize that the Takamar 6 has mysteriously and conveniently disappeared leading Cobus to believe that their mission may have been leaked by someone on the inside. The next evening, the team heads south of Monrovia to a river mouth known for local fisherman to try to enlist the help of locals to spot the Takamar 6. After some contact with the locals and earning their trust, they inform Cobus that there has indeed been a strange vessel moving up and down the shorelines. Two days later Cobus receives a call that a local has spotted what appears to be the Takamar 6 near the port of Buchanan.
Once a player stops dribbling the ball and holds it, the player normally must either pass it to another player or take a shot; if the player dribbles and then holds the ball in any way (either grasping it with their hands or arms, or "palming" it, i.e. holding it too much toward its underside during the act of dribbling) then continues to dribble, the referee stops the play, signals either "double dribble" or "carrying", and turns the ball over to the other team. A "double dribble" may also be called if the player tries to dribble with both hands at the same time. Dribbling should be done with finger pads and the fingers should be relaxed and spread, The wrist should be pushing the basketball, and the forearm should be moving up and down.
The Patrick Swayze Christmas segment shows Kevin in the puppet trench working Tom Servo with bladder in each hand. Although it was as though the arms were never really functional as arms, a point that is commented on occasionally throughout the series, they actually do move up and down due to the Mr Moonie doll bladder inside Tom, and can be seen moving up and down in a fair few episodes as early as season 2. A different kind of arm movement is seen in season 1, particularly episode 13, his arms are puppeteered to move whilst holding a magazine, because some episodes feature Tom with objects already in his hands, but if they apparently were not functional, this would raise the unanswered question of how they got there. His shoulders are made from the front of an Eveready Floating Lantern.
In other cases initialization is required for disambiguation, though the signs are not semantically related. For example, in ASL, "water" it signed with a 'W' handshape touching the mouth, while "dentist" is similar apart from using a 'D' handshape. In other cases initialization is not used for disambiguation; the ASL sign for "elevator", for example, is an 'E' handshape moving up and down along the upright index finger of the other hand. The large number of initialized signs in ASL and French Sign Language is partly a legacy of Abbé de l'Épée's system of Methodical Sign (les signes méthodiques), in which the handshapes of most signs were changed to correspond to the initial letter of their translation in the local oral language, and (in the case of ASL) partly a more recent influence of Manually Coded English.
To reduce rolling resistance for improved fuel economy and to avoid overheating and failure of tires at high speed, tires are designed to have limited internal damping. So the "wheel bounce" due to wheel inertia, or resonant motion of the unsprung weight moving up and down on the springiness of the tire, is only poorly damped, mainly by the dampers or shock absorbers of the suspension. For these reasons, high unsprung weight reduces road holding and increases unpredictable changes in direction on rough surfaces (as well as degrading ride comfort and increasing mechanical loads). This unsprung weight includes the wheels and tires, usually the brakes, plus some percentage of the suspension, depending on how much of the suspension moves with the body and how much with the wheels; for instance a solid axle suspension is completely unsprung.
An online demonstration is available to show the principle of operation of a 7-component version of a tide- predicting machine otherwise like Thomson's (Kelvin's) original design.See American Mathematical Society/Bill Casselman (2009), animated JAVA simulation based on Kelvin's Tide Predicting Machine (the animation shows computing 7 harmonic components). The animation shows part of the operation of the machine: the motions of several pulleys can be seen, each moving up and down to simulate one of the tidal frequencies; and the animation also shows how these sinusoidal motions were generated by wheel rotations and how they were combined to form the resulting tidal curve. Not shown in the animation is the way in which the individual motions were generated in the machine at the correct relative frequencies, by gearing in the correct ratios, or how the amplitudes and starting phase angles for each motion were set in an adjustable way.
This leads into what is perhaps the most recognizable pianistic feat of the first movement: several lines of octaves interspersed with close tones either above or below (in a triplet rhythm), moving up and down the keyboard with the hands usually on top of one another. This is followed by a restatement of the opening clarinet theme, played loudly in the full orchestra, which transitions to a haunting variation of the theme by the solo piano. A quick, scalar passage from the movement's beginning is now taken up by the piano, in what is arguably the most difficult passage in the first movement for its challenges of fingering and phrasing. This leads into an exact recapitulation of the piano's entrance, which now leads into a brilliant coda involving various figurations of the octave-triplet idea, as well as runs on the piano consisting entirely of ascending parallel triads and glissandi.
Upon leaving the forest, the road remains almost as rural as it spends much of its time in Southern Citrus County as the same two-lane highway it was in northern Hernando County moving up and down various hills. As the road gets close to Downtown Floral City, it begins to run along the west side of the Withlacoochee State Trail, a former Atlantic Coast Line Railroad right-of-way that was converted into a rail trail shortly after being abandoned by CSX in 1987. The western end of County Road 48 is where US 41 also begins to include part of the DeSoto Trail. Meanwhile, the Withlacoochee State Trail continues to run along the east side of the road, often behind the backyards of local businesses and vacant lots. The only resemblance of a major intersection within this area is County Road 39A, a suffixed route of a former segment of State Road 39.
While recovering from his addictions, Paracha spent time rearranging these notes using the cut-up method and surrealist automatism. He then turned it all into a work of fiction in which a heroin addict narrates his story set in future Pakistan and India that have turned into capitalist and theistic dystopias. He is a traveler who is always moving up and down both the countries looking for drugs and in the process having hallucinatory dialogues with a Pakistani cleric/Islamic extremist (called in the book as "The Mufti"), a group of Hindu fundamentalists (called "The pundits"), a group of young neoliberals (referred to as "the fun young people" and the "polite voids"), and an aging Indian Christian (called the "Holy Father"). There are also many other characters, but much of the story revolves around these main characters as Paracha constructs his dystopia in which capitalism and organized religion have been fused together as a new totalitarian system.
Michel Gondry's music video for the song features five groups of characters on a platform representing a vinyl record: four robots walking around in a circle; four tall athletes (as described by Gondry) wearing tracksuits with small prosthetic heads walking up and down stairs; four women dressed like synchronized swimmers (described by Gondry as "disco girls") moving up and down another set of stairs; four skeletons dancing in the center of the platform; and four mummies dancing in time with the song's drum pattern. This is meant to be a visual representation of the song; each group of characters represents a different instrument. According to Gondry's notes, the robots represent the singing voice; the physicality and small-minded rapidity of the athletes symbolizes the ascending/descending bass guitar; the femininity of the disco girls represents the high-pitched keyboard; the skeletons dance to the guitar line; and the mummies represent the drum machine. "Around the World" was Gondry's first attempt at bringing organized dancing to his music videos.
F.C. Zwarte Duivels Oud-Heverlee was founded in 1957, climbing out of the provincial leagues in 1996 and winning the Belgian Fourth Division title during the 1999–2000 season. Promoted to the Belgian Third Division they joined their Leuven neighbours Stade Leuven, founded in 1905, which had played over 30 seasons in the Belgian Second Division and one year in the First in the 1949–50 season. As of 2002, F.C. Zwarte Duivels Oud-Heverlee was in bad financial shape, moving up and down between third and fourth division since 1991. In 2002, the city of Leuven decided that both Third division teams, Zwarte Duivels Oud-Heverlee and K. Stade Leuven, would merge also with the third club from Leuven, K. Daring Club Leuven, which was at that time playing at the fifth level of the league. Daring Club Leuven was founded in 1922, had played several seasons in the Belgian Second Division, and after being the leading club from the Leuven region between 1958 and 1964, had dropped down into the provincial leagues in 1979 and stayed there since.
In 1792, Andrew Evans purchased a tract of land near the mouth of Boyd's Creek and built a ferry near the site of the old ford. In 1798, he sold the farm to John Brabson, and it became known as Brabson's Ferry Plantation. In the early 1790s, Thomas Buckingham established a large farm between Boyd's Creek and Sevierville. He went on to become the county's first sheriff. In the early 19th century, Timothy Chandler and his son, John Chandler (1786–1875), established the Wheatlands plantation in Boyd's Creek.Jones, Historic Architecture of Sevier County, 14, 24. As towns situated along the French Broad are connected via waterway to New Orleans, flatboat trade flourished along the river in the early 19th century. In 1793, James Hubbert, who lived along Dumplin Creek, established Hubbert's Flat Landing to trade with flatboats moving up and down the river.Jones, Historic Architecture of Sevier County, 17. In the early 19th century, Knoxville and Asheville were connected via Route 17, a crude road that followed the banks of the French Broad.
He spent the next eight tournaments moving up and down the top third of the makushita division. In the March 2017 tournament at makushita 16 he got a 7–0 record and took the championship. He would follow this with a strong 5-2 in May, which would finally garner re-promotion to jūryō in July 2017, in which he achieved a winning tournament (8–7). In the next tournament in September at jūryō 11 he posted a 10–5 record and on the final day beat both Homarefuji and Kotoyuki in a playoff to take the championship. An 11–4 record at jūryō 5 in November would propel him to the top flight makuuchi division for the first time. In his debut in January 2018 at maegashira 14 he had a record of 10–5 and earned the Fighting Spirit Prize along with Ryūden. Another 10-5 for the March 2018 tournament saw him promoted to maegashira 2 for the May tournament, where he recorded only seven wins but earned his first kinboshi by defeating the yokozuna Hakuhō on day 6.
The team remained a strong force in the league until 1995, when it slipped back to the lower half of the table. After battling relegation for a couple of seasons, the club finally was moved down in 1999–2000, now to the Bezirksoberliga Mittelfranken. The season after proved disastrous for the club, with only one win and three draws out of 30 games, a last place finish and relegation were inevitable.Bezirksoberliga Mittelfranken tables Manfreds Fussball Archiv, accessed: 5 October 2008 After this, the BSC has been moving up and down between Bezirksliga and Bezirksoberliga, playing in the later once more since 2008. At the end of the 2011–12 season the club dropped back to the Bezirksliga after finishing eleventh in the Bezirksoberliga but remained at the same tier as the Bezirksoberliga was disbanded.Das war die Relegation 2012 auf Verbandsebene fupa.net, published: 7 June 2012, accessed 8 June 2012 The 2012–13 was a disastrous one for the club, winning only one game and conceding 214 goals. Consequently, BSC was relegated to the Kreisliga. The decline of the once proud amateur club results from a Euro 800,000 dept and the inability to pay its players.
They further recommended that salmon fisheries should be able to appoint and pay water bailiffs, with rights of access; that the conviction of offenders should be relatively easy; and that all of their recommendations should be enshrined in a law covering England and Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. The second report dealt with obstructions, which was more sensitive, given that most of the structures were servicing the manufacturing industry, which wielded a lot of power. No action was taken to address any of the issues raised by the Select Committee, and it was another 35 years before further progress was made. A Royal Commission was set up in 1860, with a remit ...to enquire into the Salmon Fisheries of England and Wales, with the view of increasing the supply of a valuable article of food for the benefit of the public... It found that the reasons for the decline of the fisheries were similar to those listed in 1825, notably, obstructions which prevented fish moving up and down the rivers, the use of fixed engines, pollution, illegal fishing, the defective regulation of close seasons, the lack of a management system for the rivers and fisheries, and a general confusion about what the law allowed.
