Soapstone is still quarried in nearby Schuyler. It has its own boat ramp, where kayakers, canoers and fishermen can embark and land. As such, it remains one of the quaintest, most unspoilt villages of central Virginia. Monticola and West Cote are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Kudat is famous for its beaches, which are among the most unspoilt in Sabah. Some of the more well known beaches include Bak Bak, Pasir Putih, Kalampunian and Torungkungan. Kudat is also notable for its proximity to Tanjung Simpang Mengayau, a headland which forms the northernmost point of the island of Borneo.

Local crops include carob, cotton, tobacco, and grain. The town's surroundings are famous as the wildest and one of the most unspoilt parts of the island. The municipality's territory features the Karpaz National Park, home to the Karpass donkey and some of the finest beaches of the island. The economy is primarily based on agriculture, husbandry and fisheries.

It contains some of the most unspoilt coastline on the south coast, including the promontories of Start Point and Bolt Head The entire coastline, along with the lower Avon and Dart valleys, form most of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The South Hams, along with nearby Broadsands in Paignton, is the last British refuge of the cirl bunting.

The capitals are Sanluri in the east and Villacidro in the south. The environment is diverse, with mountains, hills, plains and coastline. The province is one of the least populated and most unspoilt areas of the island and has earned the name, the "Green Province". The mining industry began to develop in the province in the nineteenth century due to the large lead, copper and silver reserves, but the industry became uneconomical after World War II and all that now remains is the industrial heritage.

The population of the village was 234 at the 2011 Census. They are served by a primary school, St. Mary's Church, a village hall, a single shop/post office and ‘The Edge’ public house. Woodland stands 1100 feet above sea level and commands outstanding views of the Cumbrian Mountains to the west, the moors of North Yorkshire to the south and, on a clear day, the east coast and North Sea. Although within easy reach of towns and cities Woodland is on the doorstep of some of England's most unspoilt countryside.

The main attraction are its extensive beaches and the proximity to the natural spaces of the Doñana National and Natural Park, the Natural Areas of the Lagunas de Palos and Las Mothers, and the Estero Domingo Rubio; as well as the Colombian and Juanramonian character conferred by its parent nuclei. Mazagón has the most unspoilt beaches in the province of Huelva, it also has a natural environment with the dune dune and the pine forests as outstanding elements. Bordered on the north by the Mediterranean coast on 50 km and south by the National road 16, Al Hoceima National Park is home to some of the most unspoilt coastal sites on the north coast of Morocco, as well as high cliffs and a mountainous interior. It covers an area of , which includes a terrestrial part (), located on the Ibaqouyen Rif mountain range, and a part located at sea (). Its terrestrial part consists of the partial territories of five communes which are, from west to east, the coastal municipalities of Bni Boufrah, Senada, Rouadi and Izemmouren (between Bni Gmil and Al Hoceima), as well as Ait Kamara, to the south of Izemmouren.
