Depending on the severity of the crime, all or part of the property of the condemned could be confiscated, and the family would be punished by being stripped of rank, sold into long-term servitude, or executed. Seppuku was considered the most honorable capital punishment apportioned to samurai. Zanshu (斬首) and sarashikubi (晒し首), decapitation followed by a display of the head, was considered harsher and was reserved for samurai who committed greater crimes. Sir Edwin Henry Landseer, The Defeat of Comus, 1843 Comus (A Masque Presented at Ludlow Castle, 1634) is a masque in honour of chastity, written by John Milton. Chacha Chaudhary is a middle class Indian, frail but an extremely intelligent elder. The word chacha means uncle in Hindi, while Chaudhary is a term used for big landlords or the most honorable, elderly or a respectable person in villages or towns in Indo- Gangetic Plain. A common saying about him is that "Chacha Chaudhary ka dimaag computer se bhi tez chalta hai" (Chacha Chaudhary's brain runs faster than a computer), which is a testament to his unparalleled wisdom and wits. In 1595 Gervase Markham included a dedicatory sonnet to Southampton in The Most Honorable Tragedy of Richard Grinvile, Knight.. On 2 March 1596 John Florio's Italian/English dictionary was entered in the Stationers' Register.

Lieutenant Colonel Ghulam Hussain Chaudry or Ghulam Hussain Chaudry Shaheed, HJ, born in 1926, was a Pakistan Army officer who received the Hilal-i-Jurat for his service in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. He graduated from the Pakistan Military Academy as part of the 6th PMA, barely three years after the formation of Pakistan as an independent state. He was awarded the second most honorable and prestigious award in Pakistan, the HJ, which is awarded to officers for "acts of valor, courage or devotion to duty performed on land, at sea or in air." He was fatally wounded in the Pakistan/India war of 1971.

Precedence signifies the right to enjoy a prerogative of honor before other persons; for example, to have the most distinguished place in a procession, a ceremony, or an assembly, to have the right to express an opinion, cast a vote, or append a signature before others, to perform the most honorable offices. Shea wrote a book called Rat Bastards; The Story of South Boston's Most Honorable Irish Mobster about his experience with the Winter Hill Gang. Theodore Robinson Backwell Playing Fields is a 17-acre (2.8 hectare) public park and a collection of sports fields in the western side of Backwell. Its slogan is "The jewel in the centre of our village" On 6 June 1929 Theodore Robinson opened the park to the public and gave it to the "Children and adults of the parish of Backwell". As the fields were given to the collective people of Backwell, they had, and continue to have, no sole owner.

Chen's business card was highlighted in a January 2014 Quartz article, which labelled the card as "ridiculous". One year later he was designated deputy chief of staff for operations at Air Force Headquarters, a post he held until July 1, 1957, when he was appointed commander-in-chief of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe and promoted to a full general. Returning to the United States on August 1, 1959, General Everest was assigned duty as commander of Tactical Air Command, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. He retired on October 1, 1961. Everest was awarded the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Silver Star, the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal, Honorary Companion of the Military Division of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Republic of Korea Military Merit Taeguk Medal, World War II Victory Medal.

An obituary from 11 February 1877 edition of Revue et Gazette Musicale de Paris, "Nouvelles diverses," page 47, reveals the identity of Casimir Ney. ;Original text: :Un artiste qui a tenu une place des plus honorables dans le monde musical parisien, Louis- Casimir Escoffier, dit Casimir Ney, est mort à Arras, le 3 février, dans sa soixante-seizième année. Tellus () was an Athenian statesman featured in Herodotus's Histories, in which the wise man Solon describes him as the happiest man ever. To quote Herodotus:Herodotus, Histories, 1.30 > Tellus... had both beautiful and good children, and he saw all his > grandchildren from birth and all remaining alive... And the end of his life > was most brilliant: for when the Athenians had a war against their > neighbours in Eleusis, coming to the rescue and making a rout of the enemy > he died most beautifully, and the Athenians had buried him publicly right > where he fell, and honoured him greatly. His "perfect" life helps historians infer Ancient Greek ideals about the most honorable and mentionable way to live. After describing Tellus as the happiest of all men, Solon states that the second-happiest men ever were the brothers Kleobis and Biton.

Princess Taiping, the youngest daughter of Emperor Gaozong (r. 649-683) and Empress Wu, entered a Daoist convent in 670 to escape a requested marriage of state with the king of "barbarian" Turpan (Despeux 2000: 389). Yang Guifei (Most Honorable Consort Yang), the beloved concubine of Emperor Xuanzong, was married to Li Mao, the emperor's eighteenth son, who she left by becoming a Daoist nun in 745, which then allowed her to enter Xuanzong's imperial harem (Schafer 1978). The Daoist ritualist Zhang Wanfu (張萬福) described the princesses' splendiferous 14-day ordination rite, and noted the widespread criticism from ministers and officials about the high costs (Benn 1991:148-151).

He calls them by their names from a previous existence. He comes to hate the system in Heaven since he was once romantically involved with a pureblood goddess, but the union between them was forbidden by his own maternal grandfather. As punishment, she was reincarnated on Earth and he was imprisoned in Heaven, in order to prevent a union between them, and she later died of old age while he continued to go on living. In some countries, entire congregations and their elders, within just one week, found themselves deprived of church membership because of their stand on the war question and the Sabbath.

The flag of the city of Marseille, a white flag with a blue cross, has the peculiarity of being older than the coat of arms. The cross was adopted as a symbol of the Crusades, since at that time, (11th - 13th centuries) in the ports of embarkation to go to the Holy Land, flags loaded with crosses were hoisted as a characteristic sign of the safe ports. The first documented reference to the emblem of Marseille is dated in 1254, it's about statutes of the city that prescribed its use: «of vexillo cum cross communis Massilie carrying in navibus et de alio vexillo». In 1257, in the agreement that the city signed with Charles of Anjou, Count of Provence, it was stated that "on land and sea, in their ships, galleys and other facilities, they will continue to show the flag of their municipality in the usual manner and only the banner of Mr. Count will be hoisted in the most honorable place".

It has gathered many competent and highly accomplished researchers from various institutes of Pakistan The name of institute is chosen to commemorate and pay tribute to one of the most honorable and prominent Muslim mathematician, thinker, and scholar Muḥammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī who was born in Persia and lived from 780 AD to 850 AD. Al-Khwārizmī's contribution in the field of mathematics, astronomy and geography drastically changed the paradigm of science and mathematics. He was the first one to introduce Algebra and is known as Father of Algebra.

In the War of 1812, he was promoted to the rank of post-captain and commanded the USS Ticonderoga in the Battle of Lake Champlain and was awarded a gold medal by the United States Congress in commemoration of the victory. Text of Congressional Gold Medal resolution: :Resolved, That the President of the United States be requested to cause gold medals to be struck, emblematical of the action between the two squadrons, and to present them to Captain Macdonough and Captain Robert Henley, and also to Lieutenant Stephen Cassin, in such manner as may be most honorable to them; and that the President be further requested to present a silver medal, with suitable emblems and devices, to each of the commissioned officers of the navy and army serving on board, and a sword to each of the midshipmen and sailing masters, who so nobly distinguished themselves in that memorable conflict. At the close of the war, Cassin commanded the Newport, Rhode Island Station, and after that the Washington Navy yard for five years.

Between 1872 and 1884, The Most Honorable John Henry Wellington Graham Loftus, 4th Marquess of Ely (1849-1889), under the guidance of his mother Lady Jane Hope Vere Loftus (Lady in Waiting to Queen Victoria), undertook an extensive rebuilding of the entire mansion, adding many of the famous elements such as the grand staircase, mosaic tiled floor, elaborate parquet flooring and technical elements which had not been seen in houses in Ireland at the time, such as flushing toilets and blown air heating. A lot of Lord Ely's inspiration was taken from Osborne House, the Queen's summer residence on the Isle of Wight. The extensive works were believed to have been undertaken to facilitate a visit from the Queen, but this didn't happen and the family never got to fully enjoy the house, with the 4th Marquess dying very young without issue and leaving the estate, in a poor financial state, to his cousin who eventually elected to place it on the market. A three-storey non-basement mansion, nine bays to the front with a balustraded parapet.

Situated on the southern flank of the frontier, the Ghassanids faced the Lakhmids, another powerful Arab tribe who were in turn the chief client of Byzantium's main antagonist, the Sassanid Persian Empire.. Harith had been raised to the kingship and to the position of supreme phylarch by the Byzantine emperor Justinian I (r. 527–565), who wished thereby to create a strong counterpart to the Lakhmid rulers.. Mundhir had been confirmed as his father's heir as early as 563, during the latter's visit to Constantinople, and succeeded after Harith's death in 569. It appears that Mundhir inherited his father's Byzantine titles one at a time, as they were not hereditary: the rank of patricius, the honorific appellation paneuphemos (most honorable) and the prestigious honorific gentilicum "Flavius", borne by the Byzantine emperors and consuls.. Soon after Harith's death, Ghassanid territory was attacked by Qabus ibn al-Mundhir, the new Lakhmid ruler, who sought to take advantage of the situation. Qabus's forces were repulsed and Mundhir invaded Lakhmid territory in turn, seizing much plunder.
