La France was a daily financial newspaper in the 19th century. Founded in August 1862 by Arthur de La Guéronnière, the newspaper originally followed an editorial line that reconciled loyalty to Napoleon III with the reaffirmation of the temporal power of the Pope. It was bought in 1874 by Émile de Girardin, founder of the famous newspaper La Presse and a longtime collaborator of La Guéronnière. More respected than La Presse and "decidedly political," according to historian Tristan Gaston Breton, in the crisis of 16 May 1877 the newspaper fought the policies of Patrice de Mac Mahon and Duke Albert de Broglie.

Once, when at Wang's request, Doulu wrote an elegant poem about mulberry trees, and thereafter became more respected and promoted to be an assistant to Wang.

Abd as-Samad, a Persian painter who moved to the Mughal Empire, was given a number of significant administrative jobs, as indeed was his artist son. The court remained the focus of patronage of painting in the "sub-Mughal" princely courts of India, whether Muslim or Hindu; the 18th-century painter Nainsukh is a leading example. In China court painters tended to work in an entirely different style and paint different subject-matter to the more respected literati painters, who mostly painted landscapes in monochrome ink wash painting, though there was overlap in both directions. The court style was usually what is known as gongbi ("meticulous"), brightly coloured, fairly realistic, and using precise brush-strokes.

He managed to open a small shop in Canal Street, at the time a very poor location. Ning and Fay begin an assault on Hagar's supplies of drugs, first stealing cocaine from his brother, and then taking cannabis from his grow house. They sell the cocaine to one of Hagar's rivals, Eli, and Fay uses an informant called Warren to help them, who later becomes Fay's boyfriend. Meanwhile, Ryan completes various jobs for Hagar's organisation, and passes a 'test' devised for him by Craig Willow, one of Hagar's lieutenants, which involved him having drugs stolen from him, and working off his debt in a company owned by Hagar for money-laundering purposes. As he becomes more respected in the organisation, he is sent out to do other jobs, including threatening a man who owes Hagar money.

In December of the same year, Paul Banks left the band by mutual consent, with Rick Witter citing "musical differences" for the split. During an NME interview about his post-Shed Seven band, The Rising, Banks commented on his departure from the group,'Indie Old Guard Rise Again', NME Online, May 2000 explaining that he felt more respected and accepted in his new band. Banks was eventually replaced by original guitarist Joe Johnson, while part-time keyboardist Fraser Smith was also added to the permanent line- up. Rick accepts the job, glad to get away from the negative press and his legal troubles in the United States, but wary of living in Italy, where he doesn't know the language and where American football draws little attention or respect. The Banner switched its Saturday edition for a while to a single, morning edition in direct competition with the Tennessean, then announced that it was terminating its Saturday edition entirely. During this time, the Banner began to take far more moderate positions on issues on its editorial pages, although it generally remained more conservative than the Tennessean in most areas. It was in the contradictory situation of probably becoming more respected by people, especially those in the journalism community, at the same time that it was becoming less read. The Banner adopted several new technologies soon before its demise, including early online efforts such as the launch of a daily e-mail newsletter ("Nashville Banner Digest") in 1996, as usage of e-mail and the World Wide Web was becoming more common.

The video was filmed in March 2013, and edited by fellow AOM member Hep, showing the crew b-boying and posing on the banks of Puget Sound, with the Seattle Great Wheel in the background, in the crew's hometown of Seattle over the soundtrack of "Stop Me" by Mark Ronson.
"Sitting by the Riverside" tells of the singer "watching the water go flowing by" as he sits by the riverside, where he now feels free and can "close [his] eyes." Ray Davies, who wrote and sang the "Sitting by the Riverside", said of the song in November 1968, "This is a fishing track. I went fishing a lot when I was about eight." The song was recorded in July 1968, but was not set to be included in the 12-track version of The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society (which would be pulled from shelves shortly after its European release) or its U.S. counterpart Four More Respected Gentlemen (which was canceled prior to its release.) Also, on 22 July 1968, the song was performed (or lip-synced) by The Kinks on BBC-2's Late Night Line-Up - Colour Me Pop show.
Books 2 through 7 cover Cyrus' life while still an important vassal of the Medes, on his career towards establishing the largest empire the world had known until that date. It is in this main part of the work that the character Cyrus is often shown as an example of classical virtue, but is also at the same time often seen as using what would now be called Machiavellian tactics. In this version of events, Cyrus is a faithful vassal to the Medes, someone who initially helps them as a general to defend themselves from a much more powerful and assertive Babylonian empire, which was being ruled by the tyrannical son of a more respected king.
