NEW YORK (Reuters) - The outlook for the U.S. dollar turned even more bearish on Tuesday after healthcare reform legislation again failed to pass in Congress, casting further doubt on whether the Trump administration will be able to progress to tax reform, infrastructure improvements, and banking deregulation.
NEW YORK, July 3 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury investors turned mildly more bearish in the latest week after last week's bond market gains tied to worries about escalating trade friction between the United States and its major trade partners, a J.P. Morgan survey released on Tuesday showed.
Funds have more or less held the same outlook on Chicago Board of Trade corn futures and options for three weeks now, as the new stance of 264,213 contracts on the short side is just a slight tick more bearish than the previous week (reut.rs/221pqOYZu).
"Trade barriers are coming back into play and while maybe the Mexican story is not important to the same extent as the Chinese story, its still adds to further uncertainty that plays into the backdrop of a more and more bearish market," said Trieu Pham, EM Credit Research at ING.
"If one had a more bearish outlook...I guess you could view on the way back up, that the 50-day could act as resistance, and the inability to push through it would keep your very short-term bearish thesis alive," said Oppenheimer techncial analyst Ari Wald, who is bullish on the market.

Adam Cole, global head of FX strategy at RBC, said underwhelming numbers on Thursday could mark the beginning of a more bearish turn in data on how the economy is coping with the uncertainty related to leaving the EU. Thursday's Markit/CIPS UK Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) fell to 53.4 from 54.2 in October, undershooting expectations for a rise to 54.5 in a Reuters poll of economists.
