Every MOO stores the content and state of all its objects within a persistent object database, which keeps objects from being lost by a reset of the MOO server software or the computer hosting it. New MOOs have to choose a starting database from which to set their MOO up, or they can use a minimal one which contains only the necessary objects to start a MOO. There are a handful of such MOO "core" databases which serve as foundations of code and utilities from which to start your MOO, including LambdaCore (from LambdaMOO), MinimalDB (considered the minimum necessary code and utilities to work usefully in a MOO), JHCore (from Jay's House Moo), and enCore (from LinguaMOO).

Weiten has identified four types of coping strategies: appraisal-focused (adaptive cognitive), problem-focused (adaptive behavioral), emotion-focused, and occupation-focused coping. Billings and Moos added avoidance coping as one of the emotion-focused coping. Some scholars have questioned the psychometric validity of forced categorisation as those strategies are not independent to each other. Besides, in reality, people can adopt multiple coping strategies simultaneously.

A Roman road ran through the march and connected the settlements with the Roman towns of the Swiss Plateau.
Missen (singular: misse) are small, shallow, forest bogs in pine (Pinus sylvestris)-dominated woods that form on crests, saddles, hollows or plateaus in the hills or mountains. They only have a thin layer of peat of between 30 and 100 centimetres thick. The term misse is local to the Northern Black Forest and also surfaces as Miß, Müsse or Müß. These names probably derive from the German Moos ("moss") because peat mosses (Sphagnum) play a key role in their development.

Since this project was hardly different from the "super airport" rejected in 1957, criticism was immediately voiced again by the "Protection Association of the Population around Zurich Airport" (SBFZ) and the community of Höri, which was located directly in the approach corridor. The SBFZ even demanded the resumption of the central airport concept that was dropped in 1945 - instead of Utzenstorf this time in the "Grosse Moos", with two runways jutting into Lake Neuchâtel. The supporters of the Zurich airport expansion argued primarily with the economic benefit.
Germanized Rhaetic names were replaced by the original version or by a historic Latinized form. The same method was applied in the case of names with a Celtic origin; # German names going back to a Romanic form were to be returned to their Latin antecedent; # Irreducibly German names were translated into Italian or substituted with Italian names. This was done by phonetic reduction, where the name was simply Italianized (normally by adding a vowel to the end of the name): e.g. Brenner/Brennero, Moos/Moso.
These logs provide data with a sampling interval much smaller than the vertical resolution of the seismic data. The logs are therefore often averaged over intervals to produce what is known as a 'blocked-log'.Goldberg, D., Wilkens, R.H. & Moos, D. 1987. While the road up from the Ötztal valley was built for tourism purposes, the situation in the Passeier Valley (on the southern side) was very different. As in many other parts of the Italian Alps, Mussolini, the ruler from 1922 to 1945, had numerous military roads built up towards Italy's international borders. Construction of the road from Moos in Passeier, 10 km southeast from the pass, commenced in the 1930s. After the meeting between Mussolini and Hitler on the Brenner in 1939, construction work ceased.
These same senses play an important role in contact between individuals of the same species; markings on their heads, ears, legs, and rumps are used in such communication. Many species "flash" such markings, as well as their tails; vocal communications include loud barks, whistles, "moos", and trumpeting; many species also use scent marking to define their territories or simply to maintain contact with their relatives and neighbors. Many antelope are sexually dimorphic. In most species, both sexes have horns, but those of males tend to be larger.
The dewatering canals have to constantly be lowered because of the drop of the surface level. However, where the canals join the Danube, this process has its limitations. Drainage from the Donaumoos to the river has slowed down and, after heavy rains, large areas of the Moos are flooded. In 1991, the Donaumoos Zweckverband was formed, a public organisation which has the Regierungsbezirk Upper Bavaria, the district Neuburg-Schrobenhausen, the communities of Königsmoos, Karlshuld, Karlskron and Pöttmes as well as the local water departments as its members.
From its starting point in Bottenau the Rench Valley Trail runs through vineyards to Schloss Staufenberg and continues to the Mooskopf with its Moos Tower. With steep ascents and descents in places, the route runs along the southern side of the Rench valley past Oppenau and Bad Peterstal to the Alexanderschanze. After passing the source of the Rench, the highest point on the route is reached :the Schliffkopf. The path now runs downhill to the ruins of All Saints' Abbey and the All Saints Waterfalls.
Daughter of Samuel and Luise Jacoby, she was born in Berlin on 9 December 1909. She soon showed her talent as a writer, when, in 1919, her essay on eastern European refugees was published in the Berliner Tageblatt and she was thanked personally by the editor, Theodor Wolff. After a brief period at the school of the Berlin State Theatre she worked as assistant to a photographer and then in the Workers' Theatre. Here she met left-wing economist Siegfried Moos, "Siege", whom she married in 1932.
Architecture created digitally might not involve the use of actual materials (brick, stone, glass, steel, wood). It relies on "sets of numbers stored in electromagnetic format" used to create representations and simulations that correspond to material performance and to map out built artifacts.Daniela Bertol, David Foell Designing digital space page 57 Digital architecture does not just represent "ideated space"; it also creates places for human interaction that do not resemble physical architectural spaces. Examples of these places in the "Internet Universe" and cyberspace include websites, multi-user dungeons, MOOs, and web chatrooms.
An improved version of 1896 came with Judson made his invention to save people the trouble of buttoning and unbuttoning their shoes every day as shows in his wording in the patent application. He describes this in his patent U.S.P. 557,207 In 1913, the zipper was improved by the Swedish- American engineer, Gideon Sundback, and also by Catharina Kuhn-Moos of Europe. Sundback successfully redesigned Judson's fastener into a more streamlined and reliable form called "Talon." Automatic Hook and Eye Company then changed its name to the Hookless Fastener Company.
With rising passenger numbers and a growing number of inhabitants in its proximity, plans were made to completely move the airport to another site. The Bavarian government took the decision to build a new airport in the area called "Erdinger Moos" on 5 August 1969. When construction started on 3 November 1980, the small village of Franzheim disappeared and its approximately 400 inhabitants were resettled. The airport is located on the territory of four different municipalities: Oberding (location of the terminals; district of Erding), Hallbergmoos, Freising, and Marzling in the district of Freising.

Hessian Hills School (1925–1952) was a progressive school in the Mount Airy neighborhood of Croton-on-Hudson, New York. The school was founded as a community school by Elizabeth Moos and Margaret Hatfield. Children were welcomed from age 2 to 15. In 1934, Hessian Hills School, City and Country School in New York City, and five other like-minded progressive schools formed a group called Associated Experimental Schools to raise funds and to refine their progressive philosophy, but the group was abandoned by the end of the 1930s.
From the beginning, the state-administered parts of nature conservation aspects were considered in the planning of the airport. At the opening of the airport, 70% of the grounds were planted; today there are 925 of the 1,575 hectares which remained planted, only 60%. The prevalent Erdinger Moos area with its many intersecting small streams, and woodland series was taking into consideration in the planning by the landscape architect. At the same time, consideration was taking in making the airport unattractive to birds, in order to prevent bird strikes.
Despite measures to prevent bird strikes, the northern part of Erdinger Moos is still an important habitat for birds, especially for grassland birds such as lapwing, curlew or rare winter visitors such as the harrier. This led automatically to the area being reported under the European Birds Directive as a bird sanctuary. The fencing of the airport and the large meadows inside the fence attract open meadow birds. This leads to constant conflicts and the deaths, even of rare birds as a result of airplane accidents (vortices) and safety measures to avoid bird strikes.
Corrado Tedeschi with a steak In 1950s Florence, publisher Corrado Tedeschi, together with Ugo Cavallini, founded a political party named after their popular weekly puzzle magazine (NET). The party was nicknamed the Steak Party () with its symbol being a heifer because the political program, among other things, would deliver a daily supply of steak to every citizen. The party also had an official anthem made up of cows' moos. The party had a more than evident mocking, goliardic, surrealist intent, and just as evidently parodied the populist Common Man's Front.
In one of her many "public feuds" Ivy claims that the idea for the character Scrat from the movie Ice Age was stolen from her after she pitched her character Sqrat, a cross between a squirrel and a rat that she claims to have seen in Madison Square Park to 20th Century Fox movie executives. Ivy claims she created the character in 1999 and has the trademark to prove it. In 1914 Preetorius, Franz Paul Glass, Friedrich Heubner, Carl Moos, Max Schwarzer, Valentin Zietara founded the artist association "Die Sechs", one of the first artist groups for the marketing of advertising orders, especially posters. Preetorius created illustrations for numerous fiction works from 1908. He belonged to the circle of friends of Thomas Mann, and designed the book covers for the novella A Man and his Dog, and the 1954 novel Confessions of Felix Krull. Preetorius also designed the cover to the first public issue of Heinrich Mann's novel The Subject (1918).

The area of the town of Bühl is divided into downtown Bühl and the suburbs of Altschweier, Balzhofen, Eisental, Kappelwindeck, Moos, Neusatz, Oberbruch, Oberweier, Vimbuch and Weitenung. Except for Kappelwindeck, the aforementioned villages became an integral part of town of Bühl during the municipal reforms in the early 1970s. These townships are subordinated to the town of Bühl, each with its own administrative head, called Ortsvorsteher. Bühl and Kappelwindeck were already united in 1934 forming the town of Bühl, with Kappelwindeck about half the population of Bühl at that time.
This foundational work led to a rich line of research on the biological functioning of glucocorticoids. Mid-20th century studies of psychiatric patients reported immune alterations in psychotic individuals, including lower numbers of lymphocytes and poorer antibody response to pertussis vaccination, compared with nonpsychiatric control subjects. In 1964, George F. Solomon, from the University of California in Los Angeles, and his research team coined the term "psychoimmunology" and published a landmark paper: "Emotions, immunity, and disease: a speculative theoretical integration."Solomon GF, Moos RH. After independence in 1960, the city was made the center of the official Warsheikh District. Over the course of three archaeological expeditions in Warsheikh between 1920 and 1921, Enrico Cerulli uncovered coins from the medieval Sultans of Mogadishu. They were deposited in the Scuola Orientale of the University of Rome, but were later lost in World War II. According to Cerulli, similar coins were found in the village of Mos (Moos), located about 14 km to Warsheikh's northwest. Freeman-Grenville (1963) also record another discovery of ancient coins in the latter town.
The Old Bavarian Donaumoos () is an old fen on the southern side of the Danube, southwest of Ingolstadt, Bavaria, in the Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district. The fen, drained from 1790 onwards, has now dropped 3 metres (9.8 ft) in surface level because of the drainage and associated environmental effects. The Donaumoos was once the largest area of fenland in Southern Germany.Haus im Moos accessed: 28 February 2011 It is one of two former fens named Donaumoos, the other being the Swabian Donaumoos (), also predominantly located in Bavaria, between Ulm and Gundelfingen.

Once Barbrady is gone, the carny tells them they have to win seven times to get the dolls. They decide to enter Cartman (who earlier wasted their money on terrible rides) in the bull-riding contest to try to win $5,000, enough money to play until they get the dolls. Meanwhile, all the cows in the town discover the festival's symbol, a Buddha- shaped clock with the head of a cow which moos every hour, and carry it off to start their own cult. Tom and Mary are accused of stealing the clock and are thrown in jail.
This MNT initiates interdisciplinarity between social sciences and hard sciences, introducing gender studies in three scientific fields (medicine and health, ecology and environment, engineering and technology), in France. This research programme resulted in a book published in 2016, Les sciences et le genre. Together with Françoise Moos, Devreux is also scientific manager of the Défi genre de la Mission pour l'Interdisciplinarité of the CNRS. Since 2018, she has been the scientific and organizational head of the International Congress of Feminist Research in the French-speaking World (CIRFF), which takes place at the University of Paris-Nanterre.
In 2001, The Herald ran an advertisement placed by conservative writer and activist David Horowitz, entitled "Ten Reasons Why Reparations for Blacks is a Bad Idea for Blacks – and Racist, Too!" The advertisement had circulated around many college newspapers, but most rejected it, including The Harvard Crimson and the Columbia Daily Spectator. The Herald's editors at the time – Katherine Boas, Brooks King, Patrick Moos, and Jahred Adelman – decided that if the ad was sent to them, they would run it. The ad appeared in the March 13, 2001 edition of The Herald, and was met with shock and criticism.

The "Hausherrenfest" is celebrated in their honour every year on the third Sunday in July, and the next day a famous Water Procession is held, as it has been every year since 1797. The citizens of the nearby village of Moos make a pilgrimage to Radolfzell in picturesquely decorated boats to fulfil an ancient oath. Also, there is the Austrian mansion in the market square, built in stages from the 17th to the 19th century, the knightly hall dating from 1626, and various historical patrician houses. Radolfzell was the birthplace of the cartographer Martin Waldseemüller's mother.

205–16 Moos (2002) shows that the 1910s to 1940s black filmmaker and novelist Oscar Micheaux incorporated Turner's frontier thesis into his work. Micheaux promoted the West as a place where blacks could experience less institutionalized forms of racism and earn economic success through hard work and perseverance.Dan Moosd, "Reclaiming the Frontier: Oscar Micheaux as Black Turnerian," African American Review (2002) 36#3 pp. 357–81 Slatta (2001) argues that the widespread popularization of Turner's frontier thesis influenced popular histories, motion pictures, and novels, which characterize the West in terms of individualism, frontier violence, and rough justice.

It was established as a holding company after the merger of the former competitors "Von Moosstahl" and "Von Rollstahl", two Swiss steel producers. It was then joined by Von Moos Stahl AG's companies, Steeltec AG, the logistics company Panlog AG based in Emmenbrücke and Stahl Gerlafingen AG, based in Gerlafingen, which had emerged from Von Roll Holding. In the following two years, the German steel producers Edelstahlwerke Südwestfalen (2004) and Edelstahl Witten-Krefeld (2005) were taken over. The two companies merged into "Deutsche Edelstahlwerke" in 2007. In 2006, 65 percent of the shares in Stahl Gerlafingen AG were sold.
Park Tae Son was born in Yup nam ri, Duk Chon, North Pyeongan province of present- day North Korea in 1915. He was raised as a Presbyterian in a poor family, that could only allow him to receive a primary school education. To improve his lot, he went to Japan, where he worked as a milkman and newsboy during the day and was able to complete Technical High School through evening courses. According to American anthropologist Felix Moos, Park felt discriminated against in Japan as a Korean, which explains why he maintained a strong anti- Japanese orientation in later life.
In the early 20th century, Mt. Airy was known as Red Hill for its importance to the American Communist Party. Many high-ranking members, in addition to several communist actors, lived in the hamlet, and John Reed himself lived in Croton's Upper Village. The highly controversial Peekskill Riot took place less than five miles away, and after this event, the Communist Party's influence slowly withered away as the Cold War escalated.Mount Airy Road: Reds-on-Hudson (Houlihan Lawrence) Mt Airy was home to the Hessian Hills School, which was founded by Elizabeth Moos in the 1920s and lasted until the early 1950s.
Bissell theorized that the appearance of the players draws fans attention more than their actual athleticism. Rubén Acosta, president of the FIVB, says that it makes the game more appealing to spectators.
The most popular social networking websites, such as Facebook and Twitter, commonly forbid users under the age of 13. However, these policies are typically trivial to circumvent by registering an account with a false birth date, and a significant number of children aged under 13 join such sites anyway. Social networking sites for younger children, which claim to provide better levels of protection for children, also exist. The Internet has been a major outlet for leisure activity since its inception, with entertaining social experiments such as MUDs and MOOs being conducted on university servers, and humor-related Usenet groups receiving much traffic.
The Internet has been a major source of leisure since before the World Wide Web, with entertaining social experiments such as MUDs and MOOs being conducted on university servers, and humor-related Usenet groups receiving much of the main traffic. Today, many Internet forums have sections devoted to games and funny videos; short cartoons in the form of Flash movies are also popular. Over 6 million people use blogs or message boards as a means of communication and for the sharing of ideas. The pornography and gambling industries have both taken full advantage of the World Wide Web, and often provide a significant source of advertising revenue for other websites.
While most MOOs are run by administrative fiat, in summer of 1993 LambdaMOO implemented a petition/ballot mechanism, allowing the community to propose and vote on new policies and other administrative actions. A petition may be created by anyone eligible to participate in politics (those who have maintained accounts at the MOO for at least 30 days), can be signed by other players, and may then be submitted for administrative 'vetting'. Once vetted, the petition has a limited time to collect enough signatures to become valid and be made into a ballot. Ballots are subsequently voted on; those with a 66% approval rating are passed and will be implemented.
Geoffrey Perret, in his biography of Eisenhower, claims that, in one draft of the speech, the phrase was "military–industrial–congressional complex", indicating the essential role that the United States Congress plays in the propagation of the military industry, but the word "congressional" was dropped from the final version to appease the then-currently elected officials. James Ledbetter calls this a "stubborn misconception" not supported by any evidence; likewise a claim by Douglas Brinkley that it was originally "military–industrial–scientific complex". Additionally, Henry Giroux claims that it was originally "military–industrial–academic complex". The actual authors of the speech were Eisenhower's speechwriters Ralph E. Williams and Malcolm Moos.
Whiteman, "Charles W. Chesnutt" , Berea University faculty This is the second of two Oscar Micheaux films based on Chesnutt's books. Murnauer Moos with its alpentor During the Würm glaciation, where several glaciers from different Alpine valleys met or flowed through narrow passages at the edge of the Alps, ice was piled up. Such bottlenecks had a significant impact on the level of the ice sheet which meant that it eventually flowed over low mountain passes and ridges and the glaciers were combined into a network of ice streams. Alpentore, through which particularly large masses of ice poured into the surrounding plains, were mainly located at the mouths of large longitudinal valleys such as Inn, Rhine or Salzach valleys. These glaciers penetrated up to 50 kilometres into the lowlands.
Oxytocin neurons themselves express oxytocin receptors, and vasopressin neurons express vasopressin receptors, so dendritically-released peptides "autoregulate" the supraoptic neurons. Francoise Moos and Phillipe Richard first showed that the autoregulatory action of oxytocin is important for the milk-ejection reflex. These peptides have relatively long half-lives in the brain (about 20 minutes in the CSF), and they are released in large amounts in the supraoptic nucleus, and so they are available to diffuse through the extracellular spaces of the brain to act at distant targets. Oxytocin and vasopressin receptors are present in many other brain regions, including the amygdala, brainstem, and septum, as well as most nuclei in the hypothalamus.

In the immediate postwar period, Williams was a faculty member at the Naval War College and later served as assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations and the United States Secretary of the Navy. From 1958 to 1961, Williams was a member of Dwight D. Eisenhower's White House staff as assistant to Eisenhower's Naval aid Captain Evan P. Aurand. It was during this period that Williams (also working as a speechwriter) and Malcolm Moos coined the term "military-industrial complex" that Eisenhower used in his farewell address.Griffin, Charles "New Light on Eisenhower's Farewell Address," in Presidential Studies Quarterly 22 (Summer 1992): 469-479James C. E. W. ("Easy") Ziebarth was a Peabody Award winning radio broadcaster as well as a professor and administrator at the University of Minnesota. Born in 1910 in Columbus, Wisconsin, Ziebarth attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison for his undergraduate and master's degrees before coming to the University of Minnesota to begin his doctoral studies in speech and communication in 1937. Ziebarth would remain at the University of Minnesota as a professor of speech for over 40 years. He also served as the dean of the College of Liberal Arts from 1963 to 1973 and as interim university president in 1974 after the departure of Malcolm Moos.
His son, Arnold Knapp (1869–1956) was also a noted ophthalmologist. The gravesite of Herman Knapp In 1869, with Salomon Moos (1831–1895), he founded the "Archives of Ophthalmology and Otology" (Archiv für Augen- und Ohrenheilkunde), an international scientific monthly journal that was published in Wiesbaden (in German) and New York (in English). In 1878 the archives split into two independent entities; as the "Archives of Ophthalmology" (Archiv für Augenheilkunde) and the "Journal of Otology" (Zeitschrift für Ohrenheilkunde). His name is lent to the eponymous "Knapp streaks"; also known as angioid streaks, which are tiny breaks in the elastin- filled tissue in the back of the eye.
A MOO (MUD, object-oriented) is a text-based online virtual reality system to which multiple users (players) are connected at the same time. The term MOO is used in two distinct, but related, senses. One is to refer to those programs descended from the original MOO server, and the other is to refer to any MUD that uses object-oriented techniques to organize its database of objects, particularly if it does so in a similar fashion to the original MOO or its derivatives. Most of this article refers to the original MOO and its direct descendants, but see Non-Descendant MOOs for a list of MOO-like systems.
The site of the city was discovered by the Okanagan people, a tribe of the Interior Salish people, who initially named the community Nintle Moos Chin, meaning "jumping over place where the creek narrows". This name refers to a section of the Swan Lake that passes through Downtown Vernon, the community's central business district. Some of these were part of the Okanagan Indian Band, a First Nations government part of the Okanagan Nation Alliance. This was followed by Priest's Valley, which serves as an Indigenous reserve, and its present name, in honour of Forbes George Vernon, a pioneer member part of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia for Yale.

It was located on what is now the Wa-Pii Moos-toosis (White Calf) Indian Reserve of the Star Blanket Cree Nation adjoining the village of Lebret, Saskatchewan.
Merewether offers many extracurricular clubs and activities to its students, many of them musical ensembles, including: string ensemble, orchestra, jazz band, concert band and guitar ensemble facilitated by the honourable Brian Saxby BMus. Other activities include a chess club and the robotics club. Merewether High School has participated in Odyssey of the Mind since at least 1992 and have had many successes in this pursuit, including a team of year 9 students winning the Ranatra Fusca Creativity Award in 2008. There are also various sporting teams including: cricket, soccer, basketball (The Weathers), rugby union (Merewether Moos), rugby league, Australian rules football, hockey, netball, volleyball, rowing, aerobics team, softball and baseball.
Thus, ecocomposition instructors focus not only on the process of composition but also on its purpose, encouraging students to write for specific audiences, adapting their style and content to match their purpose and audience. While a primary concern has been the relationship between the writing process and natural places, concepts of spatiality also apply to cyberspace and online writing—in MUDs, MOOs, Internet Relay Chat, Instant Messages, and e-mail (Syverson, 1999; Yagelski, 2002). Ecocomposition instructors may use blogs or other means by which to allow students to interact with one another and/or write for a real audience beyond the classroom (see, e.g., Jones, 2008).
Taking advantage of the flexibility of MUD server software, some MUDs are designed for educational purposes rather than gaming or chat. MicroMUSE is considered by some to have been the first educational MUD, but it can be argued that its evolution into this role was not complete until 1994, which would make the first of many educational MOOs, Diversity University in 1993, also the first educational MUD. The MUD medium lends itself naturally to constructionist learning pedagogical approaches. The Mud Institute (TMI) was an LPMud opened in February 1992 as a gathering place for people interested in developing LPMud and teaching LPC after it became clear that Lars Pensjö had lost interest in the project.
This irrigation system was supported by numerous dikes and dams. To determine the average size of a farm, a land measurement system was also invented with moos, taraab and guldeed being the terms used. The urban centers of Mogadishu, Merca, Barawa, Kismayo and Hobyo and other respective ports became profitable trade outlets for commodities originating from the interior of the State. The Somali farming communities of the hinterland from Jubba and Shebella valleys brought their crops to the Somali coastal cities, where they were sold to local merchants who maintained a lucrative foreign commerce with ships sailing to and coming from Arabia, Persia, India, Venice, Egypt, Portugal, and as far away as Java and China.
Moos was born in Toulouse to Moroccan parents and raised in the multiethnic neighborhood of Mirail, where different styles are mixed: African raï, funk, R&B.; He first performed a song on Radio Toulouse, then released his first single in 1998, "Qui me donnera des ailes" ("Who Will Give Me Wings"), which was frequently played on French radio. His greatest success was the second single "Au Nom de la rose", released in 1999, which was both number one in France and Belgium (Wallonia) for several months. Le Crabe est érotique, his first and only album to date, hit success being ranked among the best-selling albums in France from May to August 1999 (11 weeks, reaching number 11).
Later revisions of the arcade game added the ability to perform special moves in the more traditional way, with motion followed by button presses, but kept the original method as well. After the opponent is defeated, a brief moment is allowed for the player to perform a finishing move to end the match in a more dramatic fashion; these are performed in a similar manner to the special moves. Although all characters feature three finishing moves, some of them were more of easter eggs than fatalities, such as Vertigo's "La Vache Qui Rit" (French for "the laughing cow"), a fatality in which Vertigo transforms her opponent into a cow, which moos and runs away.
Nordic Game Jam is an annual game jam that takes place in Copenhagen, created in 2006 by Gorm Lai and the Danish chapter of the International Game Developers Association in collaboration with Jesper Juul (the IT University of Copenhagen) and Henriette Moos (Diginet Øresund). It is one of the biggest videogame-related events in Denmark and one of the largest game jams in the world, with 900 participants as of 2016. Participants are given a theme or series of restrictions at the beginning of the event and are then given around 40 hours to make a game around those. In 2009 it served as the flagship game jam and inspiration for Global Game Jam.
By the late 16th century, early forms of the developed-hilt appear on this type of sword. Beginning about 1520, the Swiss sabre (schnepf) in Switzerland began to replace the straight longsword, inheriting its hilt types, and the longsword had fallen out of use in Switzerland by 1550. In southern Germany, it persisted into the 1560s, but its use also declined during the second half of the 16th century. There are two late examples of longswords kept in the Swiss National Museum, both with vertically grooved pommels and elaborately decorated with silver inlay, and both belonging to Swiss noblemen in French service during the late 16th and early 17th century, Gugelberg von Moos and Rudolf von Schauenstein.
The emergence of the internet as a venue of identity expression is also relevant to the theme of tourism and identity; a 2011 edited volume on Tourism Social Media: Transformations in Identity, Community and Culture by hospitality and business school scholars spotlights some of these issues. Moreover, there are various programs and applications, such as chat rooms, forums, MUDs, MOOs, MMORPGs, and others in which a user is allowed to establish an identity in that particular space. This online identity could be different from a user's physical identity in race, gender, height, weight or even species. In chat rooms and forums, a user creates their identity through text and the way they interact with others.
MOOs are network accessible, multi-user, programmable, interactive systems well-suited to the construction of text-based adventure games, conferencing systems, and other collaborative software. Their most common use, however, is as multi- participant, low-bandwidth virtual realities. They have been used in academic environments for distance education, collaboration (such as Diversity University), group decision systems,Evard, R. (1993, November) Collaborative networked communication: MUDS as systems tools. Proceedings of the Seventh Systems Administration Conference (LISA VII), pp. 1-8, Monterey, CA. and teaching object-oriented concepts;Towell, JF (2000) MOO: An active-learning environment for teaching object-oriented concepts in business information systems curricula, Journal of Information Systems Education, 11(304) 147-150.
Most commonly, MOOs are connected to by users using a client which speaks the telnet protocol, which provides a stay-alive connection with the host, to relay output and send commands. Some however have developed web interfaces, or other such methods; however this commonly limits interaction that the user can have, usually to the point they have no interaction, but instead can browse objects and discover typical information. Developments in cross-MOO networking have also led to the creation of SunNET, a hubless network allowing cross-MOO communication and add extra possibilities to cross-MOO development, including networked channels. Another network called GNA-NET, designed by Gustavo Glusman of BioMOO connected seventeen mostly education sites.

Hans Caspar von Matt was born in Stans, the administrative capital of the Nidwalden, a small rural German- speaking canton on the south side of Lake Lucerne. His father, also called Hans von Matt (1869-1932), was a book dealer and local magistrate who took up politics and became a CVP member of the Swiss parliament. After successful completion of his schooling, in 1918 Hans von Matt enrolled in the class of Joseph von Moos at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts on the far side of the lake. The next year he moved further afield, entering the École des Beaux-Arts (as it was known at that time) in Geneva.
PRISP funding can be used to pay hiring incentives, such as a recruitment bonus or reimburse previous educational expenses for individuals who already possess the necessary skills (language, specialized scientific or geographical area expertise), or to provide additional education or training for those selected for the program. There is a service obligation of 18 months. IC agencies' websites should be consulted for specifics on any particular agency's PRISP program participation. The brainchild of University of Kansas anthropologist Felix Moos, who was advocating it as early as 1995,The Chronicle of Higher Education, 25 March 2005, Cloak and Classroom PRISP was originally a $4m pilot project funded under section 318 of the 2004 Intelligence Authorization Act. In the pilot phase, between 100 and 150 students received funding.
The construction in the Erdinger Moos area had a large impact on the water budget of the region, since the groundwater levels in the marshy landscape had to be greatly reduced by creating drainage ditches. Existing watercourses, such as small streams, were not interrupted, but redirected so that they now run either around or underneath the property, limiting the effects of groundwater reduction to only the areas in which the airport is located. The wastewater from the airport and the collected rain water are both returned to the natural water cycle. In order to accomplish this, 100 km of sewer lines were laid, and seven pumping stations, a water treatment plant and four rainwater sedimentation tanks were built and put into operation.
Starting in 2011, the game was referred to as the "Heroes Game" and the Heroes Trophy was awarded to the winner of the game. The Heroes game, which is sponsored by Hy-Vee, is used to recognize individuals from each state for acts of heroism in their communities. In 2017 it was announced by the Big Ten Conference that in 2020 and 2021, the game would not take place on the Friday following Thanksgiving. After significant opposition from fans, Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos made it a priority to restore the game to the Friday after Thanksgiving; accordingly, the Big Ten has scheduled the Iowa-Nebraska game for the Friday after Thanksgiving for all future post-2021 games through 2025.
According to the 14th-century Bozner Chronicle, the first parish church Maria Himmelfahrt of Bozen was consecrated in 1180 and built in Romanesque style. According to legend, a Bozner coachman found a miraculous shrine of Mary, Mother of God at the later location of the church. This figure, known as Liebe Frau vom Moos (German Our Lady of the Bog), is said to have been in the marshland of the Eisack, whose riverbed was then much closer to the cathedral than it is today. Dating from the 12th century, the statue is housed in the baroque Chapel of Grace behind the high altar of the church. The mediaeval church was built on the remains of an early Christian basilica from the 6th century.
Today, the school is a part of the University Academic Health Center, which also includes the UofM Medical School, College of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, and School of Public Health. As part of the Center, one of the most comprehensive education and research facilities for health professionals in the nation, students and faculty reap the unique benefits of being part of an exceptionally broad range of professional health education, research and treatment efforts. The school is primarily located in the Malcolm Moos Health Sciences Tower in the "Health" area of the East Bank section of the campus in Minneapolis. The School of Dentistry is the only dental school in the state accredited to teach dentistry procedures, and the only dental school between Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Seattle, Washington.
Although MOOs are virtual spaces — basically computer objects in a database — they are usually organized around a central spatial metaphor. For Diversity University that metaphor was a physical university campus, with buildings that represented the subject fields of the participants, along with other types of buildings that you might find on a typical university campus. In his master's thesis on "Design in Virtual Environments Using Architectural Metaphor," Dace A. Campbell used Diversity University's campus as an example of virtual architecture; one can see DU's "campus" structure as Figure 1.3 in that thesis. Guests who connected to Diversity University landed in a "room" in the "Student Union," in a kind of orientation space, while registered characters would land in whatever "room" was their virtual home in that environment.
He began as a Professor at the Académie Colarossi and, in 1905, became one of the first group of Professors at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, founded by Alice Dannenberg and Martha Stettler. As a teacher, he became very popular, especially among foreign artists studying in Paris. His students included Kathleen O'Connor (Australia),Janda Gooding,"Chasing shadows: the art of Kathleen O'Connor" Craftsman House, 1996 Edwin Holgate (Canada),AAVV, Edwin Holgate, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts 2005 and Alice Pike Barney and Ellen Ravenscroft (USA). Listening to Music (1900s) In 1913, he held a major exhibition at the Galerie Moos, a venue for modernist art in Geneva, where he presented some of his Spanish paintings from a brief visit home in 1910.
A group of young historians documented the history of the Swiss labor movement, but their publication had failed at two publishers, which is why the team of authors decided to do it themselves and established their own publishing house. Limmat Verlag, named after the local river Limmat, was founded on 19 March 1975 as Limmat Verlag Genossenschaft, a cooperative that was registered in the Swiss commercial register, based in Zürich nearby Zürichhorn in its early years. Its first publication was Schweizerische Arbeiterbewegung, a documentation that still is handled as a standard reference work related to the Swiss labour movement. Among the founding members were Hans Jürg Fehr, Pierre Bachofner, Heidi Witzig, Heiner Spiess (1948-2006), Jacques von Moos, Jean-Pierre Kuster and Peter Aeberli.
The Neckar () is a river in Germany, mainly flowing through the southwestern state of Baden-Württemberg, with a short section through Hesse. The Neckar is a major right tributary of the Rhine. Rising in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis near Schwenningen in the Schwenninger Moos conservation area at a height of above sea level, it passes through Rottweil, Rottenburg am Neckar, Kilchberg, Tübingen, Wernau, Nürtingen, Plochingen, Esslingen, Stuttgart, Ludwigsburg, Marbach, Heilbronn and Heidelberg, before discharging on average of water into the Rhine at Mannheim, at above sea level, making the Neckar its 4th largest tributary, and the 10th largest river in Germany. Since 1968, the Neckar has been navigable for cargo ships via 27 locks for about upstream from Mannheim to the river port of Plochingen, at the confluence with the Fils.
Diversity University was the first MOO dedicated specifically for education. Like other MUDs, it was an online realm that allowed people to interact in real time by connecting to a central server, assuming a virtual identity within that realm, "teleporting" (in other words, transporting your character) or "walking" to virtual rooms, and holding text-based conversations with others who had entered the same virtual room. The MOO server kept track of which characters were in each virtual "room," so that the comments of each character would be sent back to the computers of every other person whose character was "in" the same virtual "room." What distinguished Diversity University from other MOOs was its central structuring metaphor as a virtual university campus, as well as its pioneering use for actual online classes.
The primary buildings and landscape features, including the Montgomery Palmetum, Bailey Palm Glade, Allee and Overlook, Vine Pergola, Amphitheatre, Gate House, Montgomery Library and Museum, 14 lakes, stone terracing walls, irrigation systems, Moos Sunken Garden, and Nell Montgomery Garden House auditorium were built in the first 15 years. Later buildings included the Davis House (1953), Hawkes Laboratory (1960), Robbins Plant Science Building (1967), Rare Plant House (1968), Corbin Education Building (1972), Jean duPont Shehan Visitor Center (2002), and various additions over the years. In 2010 there was a groundbreaking ceremony for a new complex of buildings including the Paul and Swanee DiMare Science Village, Dr. Jane Hsaio Tropical Research Laboratories, Clinton Family Conservatory, and Burns Building. The Science Village complex opened December 2012 and was designed by Miami architect Max Strang.
Gersau purchased its liberty from the counts of Habsburg in 1390 for the sum of 690 Pfunds in pfennigs. The fate of the Vogtei and whether or not the municipality pledged to the Confederacy was then in the hands of Lucerners John, Peter and Agnes von Moos; as a result, the jurisdiction, Vogtei and tax rights went to the courtiers of Gersau, allowing a free municipality without being mortgaged to some other power. In Basel, in 1433, Gersau received original confirmation of the ancient freedoms, rights and privileges from Emperor Sigismund, thus becoming a Reichsunmittelbar municipality under the direct protection of the Holy Roman Emperor, with its own courts, covering an area of . During the French Revolutionary Wars Gersau was annexed into the Helvetic Republic, becoming a district of the canton of Waldstätten.
Like D-Peptides and β peptides, peptoids are completely resistant to proteolysis,Susan M. Miller, Reyna J. Simon, Simon Ng, Ronald N. Zuckermann, Janice M. Kerr, Walter H. Moos, Comparison of the Proteolytic Susceptibilities of Homologous L-Amino Acid, D-Amino Acid, and N-Substituted Glycine Peptide and Peptoid Oligomers Drug. Dev. Res. (1995), 35, 20-32 and are therefore advantageous for therapeutic applications where proteolysis is a major issue. Since secondary structure in peptoids does not involve hydrogen bonding, it is not typically denatured by solvent, temperature, or chemical denaturants such as urea (see details below). Notably, since the amino portion of the amino acid results from the use of any amine, thousands of commercially available amines can be used to generate unprecedented chemical diversity at each position at costs far lower than would be required for similar peptides or peptidomimetics.
After finishing the obligatory schools in 1924, Remo continued the studies at the high school of Sankt Michael in Zug and in 1925 he was a pupil of professor Joseph von Moos at the Kunstgewerbeschule of Luzern. The essential phase of his training was during the studies in Milano from 1926, where he enrolled at the Accademia di Brera where in 1926 he followed the drawing courses of Contardo Barbieri and the anatomy courses of professor Biaggi, but refused to follow the sculpture lectures of Wildt. At the same time he worked in the private workshop of Ernesto Bazzaro (1859–1937) and followed courses at the architectural high school at the Castello sforzesco under the guidance of professor Mariani. His first works were evidently impregnated by an academic style: first of all the large sculpture Memento mori (1930).
He was also accused of practicing P'ikareum, a ritual where female devotees have sex with the male messianic figure in order to achieve purity. Park was arrested for fraud four times, although he initially managed to obtain lenient sentences, according to Moos due to his good relations with president Syngman Rhee, to whom the Olive Tree offered the votes of its followers. With the decline of Rhee’s power and his eventual exile from Korea, however, Park had to spend longer periods in jail, both for deceiving his followers with false healing claims and defrauding them of their money (which was then not declared to the tax office), and for illegal electoral practices supporting pro-Rhee candidates. Park was in jail from December 27, 1958, to March 26, 1960, and from January 27, 1961, to January 10, 1962.
From 1976 until 1981, Heller played major roles in various international movies. In the late 1960s, Heller joined as a financier in the film, Moos auf den Steinen, with Erika Pluhar in one of the main roles, for which he claims to have used up his inheritance. It was not long before he was in front the camera as an actor: Heller played the leading roles in Hans-Jürgen Syberberg's Hitler: A Film from Germany, in ' by Radu Gabrea, in Doktor Faustus by Franz Seitz, and in Peter Schamoni's ', a supporting role in Maximilian Schell's 1979 film, Geschichten aus dem Wienerwald, which is based on Ödön von Horváth's play. In 1969, Heller participated in a televised version of Arthur Schnitzler's tragicomedy, Das weite Land, directed by Peter Beauvais; with O. W. Fischer (as Friedrich Hofreiter), Ruth Leuwerik (Genia Hofreiter), Walther Reyer (Dr.
The massive pillars that support the façade, an architectural rarity, give the front of the building a somewhat cumbersome aspect that contrasts with the airy look of the high apse windows. Another noteworthy detail of the building's exterior, testament to the troubled History of Jews in Alsace, is the presence of two "Judensäue", one in the shape of a gargoyle, the other as a corner sculpture of a portal.Assall, Paul: Juden im Elsass, Elster Verlag Moos, 1984, In the spacious interior, whose furniture had suffered bitter losses during the French Revolution, the most remarkable features are the exuberant Baroque organ case of 1755, (the mechanism and the pipes themselves, originally built by Johann Andreas Silbermann, were completely replaced in 1979), as well as the ambulatory, a unique feature in Alsatian churches. The many chapels that surround the choir display several medieval altars and statues.
High Wired: On the Design, Use, and Theory of Educational MOOS Pg 246 He created a performance in 1996 called Net Seduction this was one performance that was part of the series and was staged in ATHEMOO, the performance "is set in an Internet chat room and meeting place, with a bar, dance floor, and people to meet". Schrum talked about this performance at a recent online cyposium, and this allowed for "cyberformers to discuss their online performances with other artists, researchers and interested participants" speaking about this performance created in 1996 in relation to today's vast amount technology and new performance platforms that have been created to allow artists to further develop cyberformance's, that are no longer text based, but allow for the creation of avatars. A new performance that Schrum is working on is a performance in Second Life in which Schrum aims to "model Antonin Artaud's Theatre of Cruelty" through the exploration of technology and performance.

Carl Ernst Fürst Fugger von Glött was the oldest of seven children and one of four sons of Ernst Graf Fugger von Glött, Lord of Oberndorf and Lord of Kirchheim (14 August 1821 – 11 February 1885) and Maria Luise Alexandra, Freiin von Künsberg (5 Juni 1834-9 Oktober 1901). He visited the clerical residential schools in Metten und Feldkirch/Vorarlberg and studied laws at the universities Munich, Würzburg and Erlangen. As a jurist he was working in Donauwörth, Passau, Bamberg and Lindau. On 1 November 1891 he married in Moss near Lindau the daughter of count Friedrich zu Moos, Elisabeth countess of Quadt-Wykradt-Isny (11 September 1862 – 16 August 1940). With her he had three children: Anna Friederike Elisabeth Maria, Countess Fugger von Glött (10 February 1893 – 25 December 1962), Maria Countess Fugger von Glött (29 April 1894 – 1935) and Joseph-Ernst Graf Fugger von Glött (26 October 1895 – 13 May 1981).
The 1972 Washington State Cougars football team was an American football team that represented Washington State University in the Pacific-8 Conference (Pac-8) during the 1972 NCAA University Division football season. In their fifth season under head coach Jim Sweeney, the Cougars compiled a in the Pac-8, tied for 3rd), and outscored their opponents 274 to 241. The team's statistical leaders included Ty Payne with 1,349 passing yards, Ken Grandberry with 833 rushing yards, and Brock Aynsley with 344 receiving yards. Cyberformance refers to live theatrical performances in which remote participants are enabled to work together in real time through the medium of the internet, employing technologies such as chat applications or purpose- built, multiuser, real-time collaborative software (for example, UpStage, Visitors Studio, the Waterwheel Tap, MOOs, and other platforms). Cyberformance is also known as online performance, networked performance, telematic performance, and digital theatre; there is as yet no consensus on which term should be preferred, but cyberformance has the advantage of compactness. For example, it is commonly employed by users of the UpStage platform to designate a special type of Performance art activity taking place in a cyber-artistic environment. Cyberformance can be created and presented entirely online, for a distributed online audience who participate via internet-connected computers anywhere in the world, or it can be presented to a proximal audience (such as in a physical theatre or gallery venue) with some or all of the performers appearing via the internet; or it can be a hybrid of the two approaches, with both remote and proximal audiences and/or performers.

The event was first held on 1 May, 1962, as Rund um den Henninger Turm Frankfurt, starting and finishing in Frankfurt's city centre. Brothers Hermann and Erwin Moos sought to promote the Henninger Tower, a grain silo belonging to the Henninger Brewery, which opened in 1961. Henninger served as main sponsor of the cycling event from the inaugural race until 2008. Rund um den Henninger Turm received a status upgrade in 1967 when Paris–Brussels, organised in late April, was removed from the calendar due to traffic problems and the event became the pre-eminent one-day cycling race in West Germany. The now demolished Henninger Tower (pictured in 2005) in Frankfurt am Main served as the race's name sponsor from 1962 until 2008. The race's first winner was Belgian Armand Desmet in 1962. Barry Hoban became the first British winner in 1966 after a 50 km solo ride to the finish, holding the chasing pack at one minute. Legendary cyclist Eddy Merckx won the race solo in 1971. Sprinter Erik Zabel held the record for most victories in the race with three (1999, 2002 and 2005) until Alexander Kristoff in 2018 added a fourth victory to his 2014, 2016 and 2017 wins, and therefore becoming sole record-holder.
