Abid Rogers Bhatti in his book A Textbook of Soteriology writes about the meaning of metanoia/μετάνοια. In the Urdu Bible, the word for “repentance” is “toba.” Toba means regret, grief, and sorrow over sinful deeds that lead to a change of mind and life. Hologram was formed in the summer of 2011 by multi- instrumentalists Dan Hotten and Matt Wilson. Drummer Charlie Morrison joined the band soon after, having been involved in Wilson's previous band Metanoia. After the demise of the Christian doom metal band Paramaecium (later inExordium), Jayson Sherlock and Sheldon D'Costa formed Revulsed in 2010. The band wrote their debut album for five years with Justin "Yowie" Smith formerly of fellow Australian Christian death metal band, Metanoia, still in search for a vocalist. For a brief time they had Peter Ball of Those Who Endure as their vocalist; it was not a good fit and Ball left. He was replaced by Konstantin Lühring of Defeated Sanity and they finished recording their debut album.

Alongside acts like Adomaa, Fu and Ria Boss, the group released their first album, Mother of Heirs in July 2017. Cina Soul performed at the Allianz Awards, the Goethe Institut in December 2017 alongside Nana Yaa at the "Ghana Goes Germany", the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in 2017. She also hosted her own concert, 'Metanoia X'. Earlier in 2018, Cina Soul released her first single after her EP, '00:01' which led to her being signed by the Universal Music Group. The doctrine of repentance as taught in the Bible is a call to persons to make a radical turn from one way of life to another. The repentance (metanoia) called for throughout the Bible is a summons to a personal, absolute and ultimate unconditional surrender to God as Sovereign. In order to awaken the consciousness correctly, Aun Weor stated it was necessary to annihilate the ego. He taught that one's ego is really not one but many, or a multitude of independent, contradictory desires. Likewise, each person's ego is said to actually contain many "I’s," many "egos," many "aggregates." Each desire is an "I" and each "I" has its own specific causes and conditions that lead to its personification at a particular time. This is the mechanism behind what is commonly called "changing one’s mind" (metanoia) because when one "I" changes to another a literal exchange of personified psychological aggregates has taken place.

During the war years, however, Tanabe wrote and published little, perhaps reflecting the moral turmoil that he attests to in his monumental post-war work, Philosophy as Metanoetics. The work is framed as a confession of repentance (metanoia) for his support of the war effort. He was a founding member of the band Sneaker Pimps, and is now active with his solo project IAMX. He moved from London to Berlin in 2006, where he set up his IAMX studio for music and visual work. Carmina Burana 16, a famous poem about Fortune, mentions Kairos in this way: "verum est quod legitur, fronte capillata, sed plerumque sequitur occasio calvata"; which means "As it is read, it is true that that a forehead may have hair, but it is usually followed by the arrival of baldness". Several representations of Kairos survive; a relief (about AD 160) is kept at the Museum of Antiquities of Turin (Italy); another relief was kept (now lost) at Palazzo Medici in Florence; an onyx gem (originally from the collection of the Duc de Blacas, 1st-2nd century AD) with an incision of the god Tempus with attributes of Kairos is kept now at the British Museum; a marble relief showing Kairos, Bios (the Life), and Metanoia (Afterthought, the female Latin Paenitentia) is in the cathedral of Torcello (11th century); a monochrome fresco by Mantegna at Palazzo Ducale in Mantua (about 1510) shows a female Kairos (most probably Occasio) with a young man trying to catch her and a woman representing Paenitentia.
