Meanwhile, the other kid gets caught by the private investigator hired by the rich father to find his only son, as the faces match of both the brothers.
She discovers hidden secrets in the Mehta family and exposes Moksh's sister, Siddhi, as the culprit. It is revealed that Siddhi was siphoning off funds from a family run NGO and when her father threatened to report her to the police, she killed him and buried his body. However, this is witnessed by Moksh who then meets with an accident and loses his memory. Siddhi starts giving Moksh the wrong medicines so he would remain mentally challenged.

Smith became pregnant by DeGraff, but their child died at birth.

Krishnan was born in Bangalore, to Palakkad Malayali parents Raju Krishnan and Nalini Krishnan. Krishnan's passion for social work became manifested when, at the age of eight years, she started teaching dance to mentally challenged children. By the age of twelve, she was running schools in slums for underprivileged children.

Karl bonds with Linda, Vaughan, and their friends. He also warns Karl about Doyle's violent demeanor as well as his fears that Doyle might hurt or kill Linda and Frank.

Kliszko Zenon Kliszko (Łódź, December 8, 1908 – September 4, 1989, Warsaw), was a politician in the Polish People's Republic, considered the man of Polish United Workers' Party (PZPR) leader Władysław Gomułka. Kliszko graduated from Warsaw University and joined the Polish Communist Party in 1931. He was arrested in 1934 for anti-state agitation and released after the courts established that he was mentally challenged. Kliszko took part in the Warsaw Uprising during Nazi German occupation of Poland and escaped capture by swimming across the river.

While Budoy was building as special school for children, Grace once again ruins the moment, as she abducted her own grandson and this time, she became very insane and claims that Benjo is BJ. In the end, Budoy provided education for mentally challenged children.

K. Rajagopal (born 21 September 1965) is a Singaporean film director and screenwriter. He co-wrote and directed the social drama film A Yellow Bird, which was selected to be screened at the International Critics' Week, 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Before he found filmmaking, he worked in the hotel industry and was also teaching in a school for mentally-challenged people. Besides filmmaking, he has also worked onstage and collaborated with many notable theatre directors on projects such as Medea, Mother Courage and Beauty World.

Marin's efforts came to the notice of state officials and, in 1992, she was appointed the chief of Legislative Affairs for the Department of Developmental Services by Governor Pete Wilson. The movie is set in the village of Kizhrajakularaman in Rajapalayam district. Vedigundu Murugesan (Pasupathy) is a small-time guy who breaks the law occasionally but is a Good Samaritan in the eyes of the local judge (Nirmala Perisamy) as he provides shelter and looks after a mentally challenged girl named Ponni (Deepa Shankar), who was deserted by her parents. Parallel narration is the comedy track of Alert Aarumugam (Vadivelu), a petty and clever thief. Murugesan earns his living fetching water for factories and hotels in his village.

Pathelin directs Aignelet to say only "Baaa" (like a sheep) when anyone questions him in court in the hope that the judge will find Joceaulme's case groundless, as it will appear that he has taken a mentally-challenged person to court. At the trial Joceaulme instantly recognizes Pathelin. It has been in operation since 1983 and it was founded and still operated by the Tennessee Jaycee Foundation. In 1971, the ARC asked the Jaycees to open a Foster Grandparent Program. Two years later, the ARC returned and asked to start another program for the mentally challenged, afterwards the Tennessee Jaycees Foundation was established in 1977 with John Germ as President.

Mutholath is a public speaker and prepares homilies based on Sunday Bible Readings and on the feasts of saints that he makes available to priests, preachers and Bible students through his website. While in the United States, Mutholath served as hospital chaplain and parish priest. As social worker, he personally donated land and building for Agape Bhavan for physically and mentally challenged (differently abled), Good Samaritan Resource Centre for the Blind and Deaf, and Mutholath Auditorium to financially support the projects for the Agape and Good Samaritan centers at Cherpunkal. He has also been supporting missionary dioceses in Northeast India.

The Care Penalty is the term for the sacrifices one makes when performing care work. Nancy Folbre describes the term care penalty in depth in her book The Invisible Heart. Care penalties can refer to an array of sacrifices, whether it's a loss of personal time, money, or experiences missed out on while providing care. The care work in question can be provided to children, animals, the elderly, the sick, the mentally challenged, the learning incapable, and others of like disability. Providing care work limits a person's ability to compete with those who don’t have to provide such care.
All mental homes of this type were closed on 13 August 2001, and more than 500 inmates were placed under government's care. As per Supreme Court directions, a commission headed by N. Ramdas was set up to enquire into these deaths. The commission recommended that care of mentally ill people is to be improved, that anybody wishing to set up a mental home to acquire a license, and that all inmates be unchained. In 2007, the owner of the Badsha Home for the Mentally Challenged, his wife and two relatives were sentenced to seven years imprisonment by a magistrate Court.

Krishna Menon is reported to have built and donated over 100 houses for the slum dwellers in Thrissur. He has been involved with the Laksham Veedu Project and M. N. Laksham Veedu Restoration Project of the Government of Kerala. He was a patron and a major supporter of Adarsh Charitable Trust, a non governmental organization based in Tripunithura in Kochi, which runs various programs including a school for the mentally challenged children. He is also associated with the activities of the School of Bhagavat Gita, Thiruvananthapuram and is known to have donated a mosque to the Muslim community.

The first published report of a boy with a 48,XXYY karyotype was by Sylfest Muldal and Charles H. Ockey in Manchester, England in 1960. Miracle in Cell No. 7 (; lit. "A Gift from Room 7") is a 2013 South Korean comedy-drama film starring Ryu Seung-ryong, Kal So-won and Park Shin-hye. The film is about a mentally challenged man wrongfully imprisoned for murder, who builds friendships with the hardened criminals in his cell, who in return help him see his daughter again by smuggling her into the prison. It is based on the real-life story of a man who was tortured and pleaded guilty under duress to the rape and murder of a 9-year-old girl on September 27, 1982 in Chuncheon before being finally exonerated in November 2008.
Home and Hope, Rourkela () is a non-profit organization that has been working to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights for the handicapped and people with disability. The special school for the welfare of mentally challenged children provides boarding and lodging facility in the school, maintaining the children with care. The school works with 'Parents Association for the Welfare of the Mentally Retarded' (PAWMR), Rourkela. The main objective of Home and Hope is the physical and socio-economic rehabilitation of the physically disabled, especially the resource-less, so they may lead a life of dignity and become productive members of the community.
RK and Madhu are dead in the bomb blast. RK' mother escapes with RK and Madhu's infant 'Madhubala' and raises her without the shadow of cinema industry as it would become a threat for Junior Madhubala. Radha gets unwell and, Their grown-up daughter Madhubala looks like just Madhu and works for Abhay Kapoor who makes her fall in love with him. They announce their marriage, but Abhay gets Madhubala married to Raja, a mentally challenged and second look-alike of RK. Abhay reveals he wanted to avenge the death of his father Harshvardhan who committed suicide after being incriminated for killing RK and Madhu.

The film was predominantly shot across the hill country settings in Ooty throughout late 2010, with a chocolate factory being constructed as a set by art director Santhanam. Scenes were also shot within Chennai, with the Chennai High Courtroom being reproduced for a scene in the film. The team of the film returned to Ooty in February 2011 to complete the final schedule, after which the film was completed. In order to perfect his portrayal of a mentally challenged adult with the maturity of a five-year-old boy, Vikram visited Vidya Sagar, a school for children with special needs, to learn and study the behavior of such children.

Robert "Bobby" Boucher, Jr. is a socially inept, stuttering thirty-one year-old somewhat mentally challenged water boy of the University of Louisiana football program. He lives with his overprotective and extremely religious mother, Helen, and believes his father, Robert Sr., died of dehydration in the Sahara while serving in the Peace Corps back in the end of the 1960s. As the players constantly bully Boucher, the Cougars' head coach, Red Beaulieu, fires Boucher, claiming that he has been disruptive during the 18 years of his employment. Bobby approaches Coach Klein of the South Central Louisiana State University Mud Dogs and is hired as the team's water boy.
Spokane and the Spokane Police Department have received national publicity and scrutiny in the 2000s and 2010s due to many officer-involved shootings and allegations of excessive force. The most high-profile of these incidents was the 2006 death of Otto Zehm, a mentally challenged man who was initially suspected of theft at a convenience store. Zehm was later found to have committed no crime, but was struck with batons by several officers and tasered. The increased pressure on the SPD prompted an independent review by a commission of the organization's use-of-force policies, an internal culture audit, and the purchase of body cameras.

Miracle in Cell No. 7 is a 2019 Philippine drama film directed by Nuel Crisostomo Naval and starring Aga Muhlach and Bela Padilla. The film is based on the 2013 South Korean film of the same name directed by Lee Hwan-kyung. The film revolves around Lito (Aga Muhlach), a mentally challenged man who was wrongfully accused of killing the daughter of Secretary Yulo (Tirso Cruz III) as well as his attempt to maintain relations with his own daughter Yesha (Xia Vigor) through the help of his fellow inmates. Distributed and produced by Viva Films, the film premiered on December 25, 2019 as one of the eight official entries to the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival.
At the beginning of the summer, Heather arrives in a small unnamed town to stay with her grandmother, Maude Chalmers, whose house—a former funeral home—has recently been converted into an inn. Maude's husband, James, an undertaker, has been missing for several years, and she has been forced to make a living selling artificial flower arrangements in town; she hopes to supplant her income by opening the home to traveling guests. Super-Duper are a group of low-powered (and in some cases, mentally challenged) teens who function more as a support group for the disabled living in a group home than as the sort of sadistic revelers comprising the rest of the Vought-American "heroes." Their uncharacteristically benign natures confuse Butcher, and Hughie befriends them when a deadlier new captain, Malchemical, is assigned to them as punishment for his actions in "The Innocents." They are a loose satire on the old- fashioned Legion of Super-Heroes, hopelessly inept and vulnerable in the corrupt world of the Boys. Team members consist of: Auntie Sis, Ladyfold, Stool Shadow, Kid Camo, Klanker, Black Hole, and Bobbie Badoing.
The show centred on a group of four superhuman brothers who attempt to fight crime from their base, RIPCOT (the Really Impressive Prototype City Of (Next) Tuesday): Crag, Rip, Slab, and Chunk Nuggett, Crag being the leader. Friends of the four include Jimmy The Idiot Boy, a mentally- challenged drooling child, and their foster mother He-Mom (the name speaks for itself). The villains range from the Indigestible Wad (a wad of gum who sucks moisture out of people), to the evil Euroslavian dictator Citrocett, to Flathead (an invertebrate in search of a spine), to their own underpants. Each episode was usually tagged with a short episode which Kricfalusi says was composed of "left overs".

Rajakrishnan. The film released on 15 July 2011 along with a dubbed version in Telugu titled Nanna.

Robert Munsch, a renowned Canadian author of children's books, discussed his experience of being walked to the grave of Helen Betty Osborne one year before her perpetrators were captured. He discussed how this single incident led to a complete evolution not only in his writing as a children's author, but also in his investment into culture, the direction of his philanthropy, and especially in his philosophy of life. The Osborne case is a considered an influence on Tomson Highway's The Rez Sisters (1986). The character Zhaboonigan Peterson, a mentally challenged young woman, performs a monologue in which she describes being raped by two white men with a screwdriver (Osborne was stabbed 56 times with a screwdriver).

Under a flickering Aurora Borealis, they meet their wacky neighbors from the invisible house next door, the opera singing Matron and her mentally challenged son Playboy who can only say "Coo" and is a compulsive masturbator. Mac, Matron’s gigantic husband who communicates through grunts, and his diminutive interpreter are also part of the surreal world.
Vikram then also shot briefly for a third successive shelved project directed by Boopathy Pandian for the same producer, featuring him in the role of an investigative cop; however the film failed to progress and instead Natarajan financed Vikram's next film. His 2011 release Deiva Thirumagal, directed by A. L. Vijay, saw Vikram portray a father with a developmental disability having the mental maturity of a seven-year-old. To prepare for the role, Vikram visited homes for the mentally challenged such as Vidya Sagar and Vidya Sudha for a month, watching their body language and taking notes. He also communicated with the patients, to pick up the nuances of people with impaired speech.

The episode explored the criminal records of some Creep Catchers members, looked at the possible unreported revenue generation and interviewed an Edmonton Police Service member of the Integrated Child Exploitation ICE team, regarding the Lloydminster chapters' interference with one of their investigations. The Creep Catchers movement was strongly criticized in 2017 after it was revealed that one of its targets was a developmentally delayed and mentally challenged 21-year-old, Jaxson Jacoe. The CBC reported that Jacoe joined a dating site after deciding he was ready for his first girlfriend.
In 1997, David Dove began developing a unique approach to music education based on creativity and diversity through his work with adolescents at MECA (Multicultural Education and Counseling Through the Arts). In 2000, he founded Deep Listening Institute Houston (a branch of a New York organization founded by Pauline Oliveros), to bring world-class artists to Houston and further his teaching goals. In 2006, under Dove’s direction, Deep Listening Institute Houston became Nameless Sound, an independent Houston-based 501(c)3. That same year, Nameless Sound expanded to include two classes for people with special needs (the mentally-challenged and autistic) and a Creative Kids Ensemble (grades K though 8th) in addition to its Youth Ensemble, public school workshops, and homeless shelter workshops.

At the center, Dr. Levin (Malcolm Stewart) explains they help mentally challenged patients with experimental processes to boost their intelligence; Olivia observes one set of patients uses pens as they are unable to cope with digital devices. When Olivia and Charlie discuss the victims with Dr. Levin, he is able to identify their culprit as Milo (Michael Eklund), a patient taking an experimental drug to boost his IQ exponentially. Though released to care of his sole remaining family member Madeline (Kacey Rohl), he was scheduled to return to reverse the process for his own health and safety. Dr. Levin identifies all three victims as those charged to return Milo to the center, the last victim only having been selected the day before.
Guest star Bryan Cranston came up with the idea of Dr. Whatley taking a hit of the nitrous oxide before giving it to Jerry. Casting for Whatley's two hygienists specifically called for actresses with experience in nude modeling, to add realism to a (deleted before broadcast) scene in which Kramer and Jerry recognize one of the hygienists in a nude photo in Penthouse. Mel Tormé's performance of "When You're Smiling" was done in a single take before a live studio audience. Tormé's acting in the episode was so convincing that many who watched it, including Jason Alexander (who plays George), suspected that Tormé had not been fully briefed on the plot and was under the mistaken impression that Kramer actor Michael Richards really was mentally challenged.
James unsuccessfully tries to talk him out of it, and Joel reveals that he's angry at James for dating Lisa P., when James is already in love with Em. James, riddled with guilt, confesses to Em about his date with Lisa P. After hearing of this, Em goes to Connell's mother's home to end their affair. The park's mentally challenged parking attendant, prompted by Frigo, tells James that one night he saw Em and Connell doing "pushups without any pants on" in the back of Connell's car. Frigo drives James to Connell's mother's house, which is where Lisa had earlier told him that Connell takes girls to have sex. James already knows the location of the house after heading there with Connell some time before.
Sihua then expresses her exasperation at Lin's continued involvement with the group, stating that he was the only one who didn't want to see the monster die, and that he could have released the monster at any time, mocking him for being meaningless as he wanted to be "the good guy" but never possessing any courage to actually do anything. Lin later takes out his anger on a mentally challenged convenience store clerk, wrecking the store and stealing his money. The older ghoul begins systematically hunting down individuals wearing the school's uniform, regardless of their involvement with her sister's predicament. Her attacks include ambushing a student getting a drink at a vending machine, and slaughtering a bus full of students.

Danny and Joseph are friends, but Danny falls deeper into drugs, debt and failed money- making schemes. Eventually he persuades Joseph to begin fighting for prize money, in an effort to dissuade his criminal-world accomplices and bosses from exacting their revenge for his unpaid debts. Danny falls for a prostitute he has started to see and Joseph starts to see a mentally challenged woman who he saves from a group of teenage bullies and starts to drag himself away from the money-making fights that Danny needs him to participate in.

It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on 14 September 1999 and won the FIPRESCI Prize. Though only the second directorial work by Zhang and the third production of Imar Film, Shower was selected for numerous film festivals, including San Sebastian Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and Seattle International Film Festival, where it received many awards. Written by Zhang and a team of young scriptwriters, the film revolves around a family-run bathhouse in Beijing. An aged father and his younger, mentally challenged son have been working hard every day to keep the bathhouse running for a motley group of regular customers.
An aged father known to everyone as Old Liu' (played by Zhu Xu) and his younger, mentally challenged son Liu Erming (Jiang Wu) run and live in a traditional bathhouse for men in an old district in Beijing. The bathhouse provides a variety of peripheral services, including haircut, massage, shaving, fire cupping, even old-style pedicure, to a motley group of regular customers, many of whom are retired old Beijingers. The patrons usually spend their entire day, day after day, in the bathhouse, engaging in a game of Chinese chess or cricket fighting. As such, they have formed close bonds not only with one another, but also with Old Liu, who is manager, staff, mediator in squabbles, and marriage consultant all in one.

Set in a post-perestroika, post-Soviet Moscow, Luna Park follows the main character Andrei Leonov (Andrei Gutin) in his struggles to figure out who he is. At the beginning of the film, we see him as a young antisemitic skinhead bodybuilding leader of a group called "The Cleaners" who are set on purging Russia of anyone they deem unsuitable to the Russian bloodline, including, Jews, homosexuals, foreigners and mentally challenged individuals. The opening scene depicts a crowd of skinheads waving Russian flags and fighting a gang of bikers who they believed have succumbed to western influence and ideology. "The Cleaners" live in Luna Park, an amusement park, with wild roller coasters, and distorting mirrors and regularly head out into Moscow to cause chaos and destruction.

The movie has Navya Nair as Yamuna who is preparing for the big day in her life that is for her marriage. In comes a letter from her psychiatrist Ravi Varman (Suresh Gopi), who had treated her for schizophrenic disorder, three years ago. Ravi Varman now wants to meet her, as she is soon to witness some critical of the circumstances. Ravi Varman, according to his unsatisfied wife Jyothi (Shweta Menon), is more like a mentally challenged person than most of his patients, treating only one patient at a time, that too in an alien hill bungalow. Though the mental issues and associated unsettling hallucinations faced by Yamuna are confusing, Ravi Varman finds the root causes of continuous ‘vulture episodes’ through his travels into the subconscious mind and starts his treatments, finally to get the girl disowned by even her parents.
It is also shown that Kevin is probably mentally challenged, as he often has difficulties with performing the simplest of tasks, such as making himself a bowl of cereal, forgetting what he was talking about the instant after saying something, or even realizing that he was hungry, yet at times throughout the series makes very well-articulated statements about certain aspects of society, culture, politics, and education, possibly indicating Kevin is a savant. Throughout the series, Kevin almost never speaks, aside from during dream sequences and occasional one-sentenced outbursts. Instead, the show's narrator (voiced by Lawrence) speaks for Kevin; that is, he describes what Kevin is saying, thinking, and how Kevin reacts to the world around him. His parents, Anastasia (voiced by Thomasin Langlands) and Percy (voiced by Lawrence), are also alcoholic, cough syrup-addicted chain-smokers.
Kevin finally breaks down, demanding the parking spaces back, claiming that "some people have to park really far away and walk all the way to the office, and some people sweat too much for comfort." Kevin's later success in resolving the parking space problem in Dunder Mifflin's favor gives him the small victory that he really needed."The Chair Model" In "Job Fair", Kevin's zeal to gamble during a trip to the golf course with Jim, Andy and a prospective customer implies that his gambling may be a compulsive behavior rather than just a casual hobby, as he takes money from petty cash in order to turn it into "this month's rent." In "Goodbye, Toby", Dwight tells the office's new HR representative Holly that Kevin is mentally challenged and that he got his job at Dunder Mifflin through a special program.

On June 16 and 17, 1974, five people gathered at the invitation of Pastor Jim Siefkes at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Rev. Siefkes, a straight ally, then Director for Discovering Ministries in the American Lutheran Church (ALC), had been given a grant by the ALC to hold a national meeting of homosexual persons and resource persons for the purpose of discussing their sexual orientation and its effect on their relationship with society and the church. The ALC’s purpose was to open a dialogue so that the church would become "less a source of oppression," according to Siefkes. At that meeting were Allen Blaich (student, University of Utah), Howard Erickson ( Minneapolis Star Tribune reporter and contributor to The Advocate), Diane Fraser (assistant professor at Gustavus Adolphus College), Marie Kent (instructor in a Minneapolis home for the mentally challenged) and the Rev.

After searching the meadow Tommy is unable to find the stash of money and sets off on a quest to steal the amount needed and save his father. During his journey, Tommy discovers that he has 5 half-brothers: Mexican burro rider Ramon (Rob Schneider) whose innkeeper mother had a fling with Frank; mentally challenged yet happy-go-lucky Lil' Pete (Taylor Lautner) whose strong neck makes him immune to hanging; feral mountain-man Herm (Jorge Garcia) who speaks incomprehensibly and helped his mother sell their moonshine; Drunkard, Danny (Luke Wilson), Abraham Lincoln's former bodyguard who is guilt-ridden from accidentally leading John Wilkes Booth to murder the president; and African-American saloon pianist Chico (Terry Crews) who confesses to being half-White.
