Paulina Remixes is the first remix album by Mexican recording artist Paulina Rubio. It was released on January 16, 2007 through EMI Music. Nerdcore Rising is the official debut album by nerdcore rapper MC Frontalot. The album was first released on August 27, 2005 at the Penny Arcade Expo. It consists of 16 tracks; six new tracks and ten "classic megahits" that Frontalot had previously made available through his website. Vocals for each of the old songs have been re-recorded, and production on these tracks range from slight variation on the original to drastic revisions.

Between 2000 and 2007 Delago was working as live and studio drummer for various Austrian bands such as HotchPotch, Zabine, Michael Tschuggnall, Nadine Beiler, Bluatschink and Jazzwerkstatt Wien. In 2006, after playing together in different bands, Delago and Christoph Pepe Auer founded the first Hang and Bass Clarinet duo in the world called Living Room. The duo has released two albums and a YouTube series called Hang & Bass Clarinet Megahits. The singer-songwriter Ricky commenced his musical profession when a friend introduced him to A.B. Quintanilla who at the time was auditioning members for a new musical concept. Barely two days after a brief telephone audition, A.B. flew him to Texas to start recording the songs that would then become megahits for the band. After spending 4 years travelling the world, playing sold-out shows and collaborating with many great musical minds including A.B., Melissa Jiménez on "Rica y Apretadita" and Flex on "Por Ti Baby" and "Besos de Amor", he decided it was time to venture out on his own and as such, teamed up with former Kumbia Kings lead singer, after the two discussed the idea while on a trip to Bolivia. The song "It's All Been Said Before" was originally chosen as the first single, and assigned a release number by Motown, but was withdrawn at the last minute, and replaced by "He's My Man". Amy Phillips of Pitchforkmedia noted, following M.I.A's performance of "Galang" mashed up with "Lip Gloss" by Lil' Mama at the Terminal 5 club, CMJ Music Marathon, KALA Tour, how "Galang" served as a reminder of how much the mainstream pop, dance, rap musical landscape had shifted since M.I.A first appeared in 2004 with songs from Arular, highlighting megahits such as Fergie's "London Bridge" as having come to resemble M.I.A's sound. The uploading of "Galang" on social networking site MySpace in 2004 and its video's subsequent release and propagation led to the song and "Sunshowers" becoming the web's first viral successes and have contributed towards M.I.A's reputation as being "several miles" ahead of the pack in the music industry.

Sandra Des Vignes-Millington – more commonly known as Singing Sandra – stands as Calypso's biggest female icon thanks to her achievements in and contributions to an art form that was once dominated by men and machismo. Although it is challenging to state just one song as her most famous due to the nature of the progression of her music and popularity, it is certainly easier to say that she has indeed come a long way since her debut at Sparrow's Young Brigade tent in 1984. While at Young Brigade, she earned both the local National Calypso Queen and St Maarten Queen of the World titles in 1987 with “Sexy Employees”, more popularly known as “Die with My Dignity”. The song mirrored Sandra's image and spiritually strong moral standing, and was an immediate hit with women in society who identified with the images of male chauvinism in the workplace. Sandra moved onto greater accomplishments and won the National Calypso Monarch in 1999 by singing her two megahits “Song for Healing” and her trademark rendition “Voices from the Ghetto”.
