McEwen was born in Adelaide, South Australia, and attended St Joseph's Primary School Hectorville, and St Aloysius College in the city. The daughter of a school teacher mother and an accountant father, after leaving school McEwen went on to work in clerical and administrative positions within both the private and public sectors. During the 1980s, McEwen undertook tertiary study as a mature age entry student at the University of Adelaide, graduating in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in politics and English literature. In her spare time, McEwen enjoys trekking and bushwalking.

The First Four Years is an autobiographical novel by Laura Ingalls Wilder, published in 1971 and commonly considered the last of nine books in the Little House series. Stratton in January 2015 Stratton made his AFL debut against Western Bulldogs in round 3 of the 2010 AFL season. Despite being a mature-age rookie, Stratton was awarded the AFL Rising Star nomination for round 14, against the Bulldogs once more. Keith Ernest De Lacy, AM (born 7 August 1940) is a former Australian politician and Company Director. He was born in Cairns and grew up on a tobacco farm in the Mareeba/Dimbulah district. He received a Diploma of Agriculture from Gatton College and then aBachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland as a mature age correspondence student. He held various jobs, including as an underground miner, tobacco farmer, College Principal in PNG, newsagency proprietor, as well as serving in the Citizen Military Forces from 1958 to 1959. In 1970 he joined the Labor's Cairns branch, and in 1983 he was elected to the Queensland Legislative Assembly as the member for Cairns.

The midfielder was drafted by the Adelaide Crows in the 1996 AFL Draft from East Fremantle (WAFL) as a mature age recruit. He played 23 games for the Crows, 11 in 1997 including the premiership game, playing as a small forward for most of the year. Daniel Harris (born 10 May 1982) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the North Melbourne Football Club and Gold Coast Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He played as a midfielder and has been noted as one of the best centre clearance players in the league. Camille Rosalie Claudel (; 8 December 1864 19 October 1943) was a French sculptor known for her figurative works in bronze and marble. She died in relative obscurity, but later gained recognition for the originality and quality of her work. The subject of several biographies and films, Claudel is well known for her sculptures including The Waltz, and The Mature Age. The national Camille Claudel Museum in Nogent-sur-Seine opened in 2017, and the Musée Rodin in Paris has a room dedicated to her works. Sculptures created by Claudel are also held in the collections of several major museums including the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.

But his second film, C.I.D., released in 1956 set the ball rolling and the young director never looked back.

The Mature Age (1900) is usually interpreted as an allegory of the three stages of life: the man who represents Maturity is drawn into the hands of the old woman who represents Old Age and Death, while the young woman who represents Youth tries to save him. Her brother interpreted it as an allegory of her break with Rodin. Angelo Caranfa comments that "The life that was, is, and will be in Maturity contains within its movement both the relentless movement of Clotho and the rhythmic, graceful, whirling movement of Fortune, generating a single and sustaining movement or image out of the differences within" . According to Caranfa, Clotho (1893) and Fortune (1905) represent the two ideas of life: life in Clotho is portrayed as closed, hopeless existence and "consummated in an unending death"; life in Fortune is celebrated as the madness of eternal present with ups and downs, its "rapture or total harmony" (Fortune itself is a variation of the dancing woman in The Waltz).
