Throughout history one can find countless examples of these communities intermarrying with each other. Women from other Rajput clans that had marital relations with the Mughals were disallowed from marrying with the Sisodias. The Sisodias cultivated an elite identity distinct from other Rajput clans through the poetic legends, eulogies and visual arts commissioned by them. James Tod, an officer of the British East India Company, relied on these works for his book Annals and Antiquities of Rajast'han, or the central and western Rajpoot states of India (1829-1832). His widely read work further helped spread the views of the Sisodias as a superior Rajput clan in colonial and post-colonial India.

Paul Rutherford formed 1980s pop band Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Peter Clarke became known as Budgie and joined Big In Japan, Slits, and Siouxsie and the Banshees, later marrying with Siouxsie Sioux in 1991. The original version of the single was originally issued without a picture sleeve, but it was later added for the German edition in 1978. The A-side of the single explained about the life of a Northern Irish immigrant in England, who escaped from the British occupation of his country, and lived poor working-class conditions. Golmaal 3 () is a 2010 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty and the sequel to the 2008 film Golmaal Returns and the third film in the Golmaal series. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Khemu, Shreyas Talpade, Kareena Kapoor, Johnny Lever, Ratna Pathak Shah and Mithun Chakraborty. Principal photography for the film began in March 2010 in Mumbai, Goa and Hyderabad. It is an adaptation of Basu Chatterjee's 1978 movie Khatta Meetha which itself was based on the 1968 movie Yours, Mine and Ours, starring Ashok Kumar and Pearl Padamsee in lead roles and played an old couple marrying with children from their previous marriages.

Successive migrations to Allen from other islands that are near Allen were characterised by several waves. Malays from the neighbouring Bicol Peninsula in what is now Sorsogon crossed what is now the San Bernardino Strait using small sailing barges, trading with the locals before settling in, and inter-marrying with the local Malays many years after. These settlers soon branched into two tribes, the first became known as the "people of the river" (or 'taga-ilog'/ Tagalog), which developed a more sedentary, agricultural society built on the fertile plains fed by the Pasig and around the area of Laguna Lake; while the second hugged the shores of Manila Bay and therefore called the "people of the coast" ('ka-pampang-an'/ Pampanga), primarily engaged in fishing. Margaret Fenwicke of Betchworth Castle left £200 to buy lands, to provide for apprenticing children, and for marrying [with a small dowry] maidservants "born in Betchworth and living seven years in the same employment", the surplus, if any, to go to the poor. St Martin's church, Dorking has plaque to Abraham Tucker, author of A Picture of Artless Love and The Light of Nature Pursued, who lived at his estate of Betchworth Castle until his death in 1774. In the 19th century, people saw little practical use for castles, and this one was outshone by a newer, bigger house in the larger grounds so soon abandoned, in the 1830s. The castle was bought by banking dynasty co-heir Henry Thomas Hope to add to his Deepdene estate in 1834, who demolished part of it to reuse the building material elsewhere.

Despite that, the Cham in many areas do live side by side with the locals, speaking the Khmer language, and even inter-marrying with the majority Khmers as well as the minority Chinese and Vietnamese. The diverse ethnic and cultural practices of Cambodians began to deteriorate with the rise of the CPK in 1972, when the Cham were prohibited from practising their faith and culture: Cham women were required to keep their hair short like the Khmers; Cham men were not allowed to put on the sarong; farmers were made to put on rudimentary dark or black clothing; religious activities like the mandatory daily prayers were curbed. Vickery notes that the Cambodian Cham were discriminated against by the Khmer before the beginning of the war "in some localities," partly because the Cham were stereotyped as being practitioners of black magic. But in other localities, the Cham were well- assimilated within the host communities, speaking the Khmer language and marrying Khmers, Vietnamese, and the Chinese.
