In 1951, the narrator of Compositeurs et Chansons de Paris hums the song and he also hums "La Chanson du Maçon", "Le Régiment des mandolines", and "C'est si bon". In 1953, the melody of the song is played by an orchestra in Soyez les bienvenus in which the melodies of "C'est si bon", "Maître Pierre", and "Rien dans les mains, rien dans les poches" are also played. These four songs were composed by Henri Betti and recorded by Yves Montand.

He subsequently became the protégé of the poet Robert de Montesquiou (1855-1921), the countess Metternich and the princess Rachel de Brancovan. He gave recitals, but also wrote compositions for piano, including Soirée d'amour (1895), Quintette des fleurs (1896), Mandolines à la Passante and Cinq Fantaisies, and a Concerto (1898) and a Konzertstück for piano and orchestra. In 1894 he came into contact with Marcel Proust; they became friends, and he set one of Proust's poems, "Mensonges" (Lies) to music. Delafosse dedicated compositions to both Montesquiou and Proust.

Reuven is also a member of Ensemble Maktub, an ensemble aimed at the performance of Classical Arabic and Middle-Eastern music. Reuven has been invited to perform with orchestras such as The Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, and be a leading artist in festivals including the Festival Mandolines de Lunel. Those are among other recitals and festivals abroad (mostly Europe). During his studies Reuven had won twice the academy's prestigious Concerto Competition, which marked the beginning of his career, and In 2004, Reuven won first prize in the distinguished International Plectro Rioja competition in Spain and has become internationally known.

Lily Fayol (12 June 1914, Allevard, Isère, 15 May 1999, Saint-Raphaël, Var) was a French singer. The artistic career of Lily Fayol began shortly before World War II. Acquainted with talent manager Johnny Stark she had a series of hits from the 1940s including La Guitare à Chiquita, Le gros Bill, Le Régiment des mandolines, Le Chapeau à plume, Les Trois bandits de Napoli, La Cane du Canada, La Bouteille, etc. In 1950 she was the star of the operetta Annie du Far-West alongside Marcel Merkès at the Théâtre du Châtelet. Lily Fayol also starred in several films including La Tournée des Grands-Ducs (1953) and La Gueule de l'autre (1979).

The conservatory of the Pietà hospital was the only hospital to remain active until approximately 1830. All the other hospitals completely closed their musical activity during the first years of the nineteenth century. From an instrument inventoryPio Stefano book dated 1790 we learn that during that year the Pietà hospital had still “four violins with used bows, four cellos, seventeen violins, two marine trumpets [this may in fact refer to violino in tromba marina, six small violas, two viola d’amore, two mandolines, two lutes, one theorbo, four hunting horns with accessories, two psalteries with harmonic box, two cymbals, three flutes, two big cymbals with spinets, six spinets. Jean-Jacques Rousseau's account of 1770 conveys his impressions but has been over-generalized as a description of the institution over an entire century.

In 2002, he created, with Gregory Morello and the help of many other actors, the Mandol'in Ariège festival. Since 2004, he has been a member of the Nov' Mandolin ensemble (Beer-Demander - mandolin, mandola and mandocelle, Fabio Gallucci - mandolin and mandola, Gregory Morello - guitar, Marilyn Montalbano - guitar and acoustic bass guitar, Cécile Valette - mandolin) who has given numerous concerts with Mike Marshall (in particular in 2006, at the Mandolines Festival in Lunel, and who has brought to the stage or recorded several compositions by Beer-Demander. In 2005, Beer-Demander participated, with Karin ten Cate, Robert Eek, Grégory Morello, André Perpigna, Jean-Paul Sire, and Florence Vételet, as part of the Opéra Mosset event, in the eight convivial performances "Tapas y canto" which attract more than 4,000 spectators. Since 2007, he has directed, with Alexandre Boulanger, the Plectrum Orchestra of the Academy of Mandolins and the Conservatory of Marseille.
