Moses Fellows (November 7, 1803 – September 25, 1879) was an American politician who served as the fourth mayor of Manchester, New Hampshire. Fellows was born to Simon and Dorthy (Bartlett) Fellows in Brentwood, New Hampshire on November 7, 1803. While he lived in Brentwood, until he resigned in 1827, Fellows was a Sergeant in the New Hampshire Militia. Fellows was Chairman of the Manchester Board of Selectmen in 1842-1843 and 1846, also in 1846 a member of the Manchester board of Aldermen, and a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 1847–1848.

He also owned and operated a small business. Luxenberg served on the Manchester Board of Education where he introduced the first Connecticut municipal level, “Achievement Gap” task force designed to address disparities in educational outcomes.

Baines served two terms on the Manchester Board of Schools Committee in the early 1970s. He was a member of the 39th Army Band, New Hampshire National Guard from 1970 to 1976, and was awarded the New Hampshire Principal of the Year in 1990. 1996 saw him receive the Educator of the Year award from the Manchester Chamber of Commerce. In 2004 and 2005, he was named one of New Hampshire's "Ten Most Powerful People" by Business NH Magazine.

From 1947 to 1974 NHS services in Cumbria (which did not then exist) were managed by Newcastle Regional Hospital Board which covered Cumberland, and the part of Westmorland covered by the Borough of Appleby and the North Westmorland Rural District and the Manchester Board which covered the remainder. In 1974 the boards were abolished and replaced by regional health authorities. The whole of the newly created Cumbria came under the Newcastle RHA. Regions were reorganised in 1996 and North Cumbria came under the Northern and Yorkshire Regional Health Authority.

Peter M. Sullivan is a Democratic former member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives and a former member of the Board of Aldermen in the city of Manchester, New Hampshire. He served as a New Hampshire state representative from Hillsborough County, from 2001 until 2006, during which he served on the House Committees on Criminal Justice and Public Safety and State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs. From 2008 to 2010, Sullivan served as a member of the Manchester Board of Aldermen from the city's downtown Ward 3. He served in the New Hampshire House again from 2012 through 2014.

A resolution by the county justices followed, in which they declared their intention in future to refuse > "indentures of parish Apprentices whereby they shall be bound to Owners of > Cotton Mills and other works in which children are obliged to work in the > night or more than ten hours in the day." In 1795 the Manchester Board of Health was formed, which, with fuller information, more definitely advised legislation for the regulation of the hours and conditions of labour in factories. In 1802 the Health and Morals of Apprentices Act was passed, which in effect formed the first step towards prevention of injury to and protection of labour in factories. It was directly aimed only at evils of the apprentice system, under which large numbers of pauper children were worked in cotton and woollen mills without education, for excessive hours, under wretched conditions.
