It opens with "dreamed double encounters," followed by "the looped abyss of eyes within eyes, a mosaic of multiplying greetings" ("I'm Adam Gibson"), a looped descent, a montage of Schwarzenegger's reaction shots (slowed), and a pulsing screen atop a screen in which "even the frames are replicating". The manipulation stops with the arrival of the Sabbath, when "the videomaker rests," and the Schwarzenegger of his creation appears to be perimitted to speak angrily for himself, demanding that he be left alone. The videomaker replies, calling his creation a "Frankenstein", and exults in his own powers to digitally re-create him yet again.

After the Toronto incident from early September, security for the rest of the 2008 shows cracked down to disposing personal belongings. After the start of the summer tour, it loosened up, noticeably at the Slane Castle shows where many thousands of people had passed security gates without being searched, urging many other people who had not paid to see the band attend as well. The Wembley Arena, London (16 October) gig was broadcast live in the United Kingdom and Ireland on MTV One and on 24 October Oasis broke ticket sales for a single day in the UK selling over 500,000 tickets in 7 hours. On 2 February Oasis performed in Milan, Italy in front of a crowd of 12,000 for the first time in more than three years.

Shazam was essentially the Move's 1969 stage act captured on record. A mixture of California psychedelia, heavy metal riffs, thundering drums, and interpolations from classic composers, the album was generally praised by critics—Rolling Stone gave a glowing review in the spring of its release year—and is generally regarded as the band's best LP. The band had spent most of 1969 on the cabaret circuit in England, much to the delight of lead singer/crooner Wayne and to the chagrin of guitarist/composer Roy Wood. When the group finally toured the United States in the autumn for the sole time in their career, they loosened up their performance and played at a louder volume. Shazam is a classic example of one side of originals and another of covers, typifying a band wrestling with split musical directions.
