Goth looks down on Nocturna and the humans, because a human subjected him to scientific experimentation, and believes Zotz is the true master.

In some states of the print, a woman standing back from the window looks down on him, suggesting that his soaking is not accidental.

Though Alex looks down on Alan M. and insults his intelligence, Alan M. has more common sense than Alex does. Despite being one of the six main characters, he appeared less often in the comics in the 1980s onward. As he finally manages to get outside and get into the car, he drives off, only to be rammed by the demon and seriously injured. As he crawls out of the car, the demon looks down on Adam before calling him "Papa".
During their journey back to school, Erich and Juli run into a man named Siegfried, who Juli is horrified to see and quickly runs away from. That night Erich and Juli spend the night at Juli's house, consisting of his snobby grandmother, sweet mother, and sickly sister. One day, Bran visits her, accompanied by his new fiancé Lady Nimiar Argaliar and the Marquis of Shevraeth, who is preparing to take the throne of Remalna. Now accustomed to the fine fashions of court, Bran expresses dismay at finding Mel dressed in old clothes - she never before cared about her appearance. Mel becomes shy and embarrassed about her lack of courtly finesse and grace, and avoids the visitors, especially Shevraeth, who she fears looks down on her.

Pete's father criticizes everything about Peter, including his choice of profession, Trudy, and the neighborhood (83rd and Park) where Trudy would like to live. The purpose of Pete's visit becomes clear--despite his misgivings, he is there to ask his father for money for a down payment.
London is a very spoiled, selfish, rich teenager with her own private suite at the Tipton Hotel in Boston, complete with floors full of closets (each with its own obsequious talking mirror), and a kitchen that takes up most of the floor. Her best friend is Maddie Fitzpatrick, whom London is essentially bribing to spend time with her. She is also very good friends with Zack and Cody. Though London can often be seen as a superficial snob who looks down on lower-class people, she does make exceptions for those whom she really cares about and has been shown to be loyal to her friends.
The walkway on the roof still looks down on the dyeing trenches cut into stone in the courtyard below, which can be seen to this day from the tower ramparts above. The traditional way of dyeing leather or garments was to trample barefoot on the garments which were awash in the liquid dye in these trenches. Herleva, legend goes, seeing the Duke on his ramparts above, raised her skirts perhaps a bit more than necessary in order to attract the Duke's eye. Titanium Dax (voiced by Dax Shepard) is a Subtopian warrior who is Titanium Rex's older brother (a spoof of General Zod and Black Adam with some elements of Ocean Master). He appears younger than Titanium Rex due to the aging differences between those who live on the surface and those who live in Subtopia. In Season Two, he comes to the surface in search of his lost younger brother whom he at first assumes has conquered the surface world for Subtopia. Though he is shown to care for his younger brother, he is appalled by his brother's aged appearance and looks down on non-Subtopians.
With other staff and help, Karen is deliberately patronizing, referring to them solely by their title both in conversation and to their faces: "Driver", "Butler", "Private Detective", "Pharmacist", "Back-Up Pharmacist", et cetera, and even refers to Will as "Lawyer" on occasion. She does this even when they are doing other jobs ("Cook sometimes cleans, Cleaner sometimes cooks, Driver sometimes provides an alibi ..."). This rude tone is not limited to her employees, as she looks down on or openly mocks most people she meets, even her friends. Karen is often cruel to her staff at home, training them to run when she enters a room.

Purificacion is not only one of the richest women in Venezuela, but she's also got General Gomez's ear.
However, Chief Maid looks down on the sisters since their presence would bring trouble with the Crimson Scholar. Furthermore, she considers them "insects" for allowing life harsh realities to control their fate rather than overcoming it and control their own lives as human beings and not thinking and planning their future. :Upon asking the Chief Maid to teach them to become proper humans, they are taken unto her guard, working as assistant maids. Thanks to the education given to them, Big Sister Maid becomes knowledgeable about the different lives and social classes of human society while Little Sister Maid becomes an expert with food and drinks.
Bad End Kingdom's Three Commanders are formerly Märchenland pixies whom Joker corrupted by exploiting their grudges against being mistreated by their peers, acting out their resentment on others while gradually being pushed to the edge by Joker from being continuously defeated by the Precure. In episode 45, after being forced to use a black Akanbe nose on themselves to assume stronger forms, the three Commanders are purified to their original forms and return with Candy and Pop to Märchenland. ; : : An anthropomorphic gray wolf with violet eyes and white hair who wears a blue leather biker's outfit, violently bitter and rude in personally. He looks down on peoples' hopes and dreams, expressing disgust towards the Precures' ideals.
Once, when Joy orders film actress Nileena Mehndi (Shilpi Sharma) to inaugurate his shop, he shows off and looks down on Davy for not being able to do the same. Enraged by this, Davy decided to kidnap and coerce the one responsible for helping Joy get Davy, Rent-A-Star Mansoor (Sudeesh), Nileena Mehndi's assistant. When Davy and their gang finally do succeed in capturing Mansoor, no matter how much they force him, he refuses to tell Nileena to back off the deal made with Joy (for which advance of 30 lakhs are collected). Infuriated, Davy barks at Sudeesh violently, forcefully stating that he was calling upon Nileena for an inauguration, and not for fornication.
Lucas cares only about doing excellent medical work, and frequently clashes with other doctors who he considers incompetent, including his wealthy best friend Alfred Boone (Frank Sinatra). Kris, Alfred, and Lucas' mentor Dr. Aarons (Broderick Crawford) try to humanize him and teach him that all doctors sometimes make mistakes. Lucas looks down on doctors who focus on making money, and after completing his internship, he accepts a position working with Dr. Dave Runkleman (Charles Bickford) in his busy practice in rural Greenville, where many patients lack the money to pay. Runkleman has a life-threatening heart condition, so he hired Lucas to help with the workload and perhaps take over the practice.
He has many redeeming qualities: he is essentially brave, loyal and industrious, generally kind-hearted beneath the bluster and unfailingly patriotic. Mainwaring believes in following rules and orders, sometimes to a ludicrous degree and is class-conscious and a snob. Being educated at the local Grammar School – as a scholarship student – he considers himself middle class and looks down on anyone he considers beneath him, which may be because he struggled to rise above his working class background. He claims to be the son of a successful tailor in Eastbourne, but Lance Corporal Jones reveals that Mainwaring's father was actually a poor draper who sold badly-made workmen's trousers and Barry Mainwaring confirms this.
Several years later, Ana (the daughter of the deceased couple), who grew up locked up in a boarding school in the United States, returns to Mexico accompanied by Sandy, her companion in the boarding school and has become her great friend. Ana returns to her grandpa and aunt's house and has grown up into a woman looking physically identical to her mother. This similarity causes Miguel to feel remorse for not having listened to his daughter when she was alive and wants to fix his mistakes by welcoming Ana and giving all of his grandfatherly affection to her. On the other hand, Paola looks down on her niece with contempt for having the failed love that took her sister.

To the north Dry Brook Ridge appears as a single peak rather than a long ridge, with Bearpen, highest peak in New York outside the Forest Preserve, visible in clear weather. Westward Woodpecker Ridge and the eastern summit of Mill Brook Ridge are closest, and in the distance the view looks down on the lower peaks in eastern Delaware County, with Mount Pisgah, home to Ski Bobcat, standing out above most of them. South the view takes in the Beaver Kill Range, with Peekamoose, Table and Red Hill and its fire tower also visible.
This lack of responsibility led to his carefree and cowardly personality, and a fear of responsibility. Langris eventually becomes the Vice Captain of Golden Dawn,the squad deemed to the strongest, and looks down on Finral and the Black Bulls. Finral eventually starts helping out his comrades in combat as well, primarily using his power to trick their opponents and conduct surprise attacks, and his ability to manipulate and change the spatial location of his comrades as he wishes proves crucial in several of their battles against powerful opponents. Finral was gravely injured during the Royal Knight Selection Exam by Langris, and he was saved from being killed by the Black Bulls.
At the end of the series, alongside Soushi, Masaki moves to Spain to rejoin with his father and stays there permanently while Soushi decides to return back to Japan six months later. :;Live-action ::In the Japanese TV series, Masaki, who is renamed as Masashi, is Soushi's older brother and takes up the characteristics of Soushi in the manga (having black hair, wearing glasses, etc.) as well as his personality. Serious and no- nonsense, he constantly criticizes and laments Soushi's immaturity and indifference when handling the family pastry business, of which he takes up the seat of vice-chairman. He also looks down on Riiko because of the latter's low social standing and general unprofessionalism in the job.
They appear in the pilot episode at the spearhead of the massive, but unsuccessful, Sky Knight attack on Cyclonia. They make another appearance in "The Code", where their leader, Harrier (voiced by Scott McNeil), takes a Phoenix Crystal which Aerrow and Piper had worked hard to retrieve. Harrier initially looks down on the Storm Hawks, disregarding them as children and refusing to return the crystal, so Aerrow challenges him to a duel between their squadrons. The Guardians, being sticklers to their personal Sky Knight Code, cheat the Storm Hawks out of victory through various technicalities (Piper, having actually read the rules, wins her event), though the Storm Hawks come out on top in every event.
In Part 1 he is presented as the more assertive of the two, being the "mastermind" of both the Gads Hill robbery and its comeuppance. In this respect Poins is an ambiguous figure, who is both part of the criminal underworld and also of the superior social world that looks down on it and undermines it. In Philip IV on Horseback (1634–35), the king is represented in profile in an image of imperturbable majesty, demonstrating expert horsemanship by executing an effortless levade. The large The Surrender of Breda (1634–35), also painted for the Palacio, is Velázquez's only extant painting depicting contemporary history.Carr et al. 2006, p. 38. Its symbolic treatment of a Spanish military victory over the Dutch eschews the rhetoric of conquest and superiority that is typical in such scenes, in which a general on horseback looks down on his vanquished, kneeling opponent.
In 1987, a young guitarist called Euronymous forms a black metal band called Mayhem, the first of the genre in their country of Norway, with Necrobutcher on bass, and Manheim on drums. Manheim leaves and is soon replaced by new drummer Hellhammer and they recruit a new vocalist from Sweden called Dead, who exhibits self-destructive behavior, during their live shows cutting himself and bleeding on the audience and throwing pig heads at the "posers". At a show filmed by their friend Metalion, the band meets a fan named Kristian, whom Euronymous initially looks down on. While home alone, Dead uses his personal knife to cut his arms and throat, and then uses Euronymous' shotgun to shoot himself in the forehead, leaving behind a suicide note.
Beginning in 2008, the novel tells the story of two mixed- race, black and white, girls who meet in 1982 in a tap class in London. The unnamed narrator, who has a white, working-class father, and a mother of Jamaican descent is immediately drawn to the precocious Tracey, who has a white mother and a black father in prison, as they have the same skin colour and are the only black children at their dance lessons. Despite the fact that the narrator's semi-intellectual mother looks down on Tracey, the two become best friends as they live in neighbouring estate flats. While the narrator's dance career is hampered by her flat feet, Tracey is something of a prodigy and goes on to win many awards.
The unit uncovers the crimes of Shogo Makishima, a prolific criminal mastermind. Makishima is – a person persistently assessed by the Sibyl System as having a low crime coefficient despite all actions and attitudes, thus protecting him from Dominator harm. Tsunemori is accompanied by veteran Inspector Nobuchika Ginoza, a strict man who looks down on Enforcers; Tomomi Masaoka, a middle- aged Enforcer who used to be a detective; Shusei Kagari, a carefree young man who was marked as a latent criminal in childhood; and Yayoi Kunizuka, a former musician turned into a latent criminal stemming from a relationship with a terrorist. The unit starts hunting Makishima, but it is Kogami who is most invested, having lost a friend at the hands of the villain.
For example, at a dinner party for senior officers the night after Jeremy attempted suicide, she intentionally brought up the subject, much to Frank and Denise's embarrassment. She often looks down on enlisted men's wives, mainly Roxy and Pamela, and would treat them in condescending manner in front of Claudia Joy, who was known for breaking tradition and befriending other army spouses regardless of their spouses' ranks or status. However, Lenore has confessed to Claudia Joy that she envies the fact that she is eloquent, educated and has a circle of close friends and a family man for a husband. In Season 1 Lenore continuously spread rumors about the Holdens in hopes that her husband would be considered over Michael for a promotion.
Thanks to his father, Paul looks down on her too. His father, busy with a new wife and baby, ignores his calls and finally tells him to go away. He feels responsible for being a surrogate man of the house for his mother, who is clingy and insecure. This is far too much pressure for Paul, and only drives him away from confiding in his mother about anything happening in his life. Binky knows the score from way back, and knows it wasn’t that much easier on David Blanco, son of the school janitor. When David’s dog is found killed, the school population tacitly blames David, because it’s easier than figuring out which one of the children of privilege is the corrupt one.

"Down in the Depths (on the Ninetieth Floor)" is a torch song written by Cole Porter, for his 1936 musical Red, Hot and Blue, in which it was introduced by Ethel Merman. The lyric scheme juxtaposes images of high and low: it is a lament from the point of view of a rich woman in a penthouse apartment higher than any building but the Empire State Building, who looks down on the busy city life below her but nevertheless feels she is at the lowest and poorest point of her life because she is lonely. Porter's melody is musically intertwined with the lyric scheme in a similar manner to his classic song "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye". The song was a late edition to the show only being added during the Boston tryout.
After his wife Jane (Helen Westcott) admits to an extramarital affair, Iowa attorney David Trask (Gary Merrill) abandons her and their daughters and heads for Los Angeles. His flight is delayed, and while waiting in the airport restaurant he meets a few of his fellow passengers. Troubled alcoholic Dr. Robert Fortness (Michael Rennie), haunted by his responsibility for a car accident in which a colleague, Dr. Tim Brooks (Hugh Beaumont) was killed, is returning home to his wife Claire (Beatrice Straight) and teenage son Jerry (Ted Donaldson), and plans to tell the district attorney the truth about the accident. Aspiring actress Binky Gay (Shelley Winters) is hoping to free her husband Mike Carr (Craig Stevens) from the clutches of his domineering mother, former vaudevillian Sally Carr (Evelyn Varden), who looks down on Binky.
He believes in reason and materialism, eschewing all religion and superstition, believing them to be impediments to human evolution; he looks down on anyone who does not hold his beliefs as inferior and exploitable, especially his Catholic neighbors. In the Ohrid region there are several Neolithic settlements: Dolno Trnovo in Ohrid and Zlastrana in the village of Gorno Sredorece (Debarca), as well as the Kutlina site in the village of Velmej (Debarca), which dates back to the Eneolithic period. At the centre of Velmej is a high bell tower of St Nikolas church. There is another church, St. George which looks down on northwards part of the village. Also, an impressive fountain called ”Istok” (East) which disposes large amount of water running through 18 sources is situated at the western part of the village. As of August 2016, the U.S. portion of the highway is paved from the Taylor Highway junction almost as far as Chicken, Alaska, and again for the final 10 kilometres from the Eagle turnoff to the Canada–United States border at Little Gold Creek. The paved Canadian sections are from kilometre 0 (at Dawson) to km 9 (mile 0 to mi 5.4), km 74 to 76 (mi 46.0 to 47.2), km 79 to 82 (mi 49.1 to 51.0), km 83 to 94 (mi 51.6 to 58.4) and km 99 to 104 (mi 61.5 to 64.6) at the Canada–US border. The highway is so named because, along much of its length, it skirts the crest of the hills, giving looks down on the valleys.
Leventhal initially regards Allbee, who looks down on his luck, with a mixture of alarm and pity, but is swiftly put on guard, for Allbee's stream of false courtesy is barbed with anti-semitism, and it emerges that Allbee holds Leventhal responsible for his having lost his job at some point in the past. In post-war America, a train carrying the president of the United States is scheduled to make a stop in the small town of Suddenly, California. Claiming to be FBI agents checking up on security before the president’s arrival, three men arrive at the home of the Bensons: Ellen, a widow, her young son “Pidge,” and her father-in-law, “Pop” Benson. The house is on top of a hill that looks down on the station where the presidential train is scheduled to stop, making it a perfect perch from which to shoot the president when his train stops. However, it soon becomes clear that the men are not Government agents but assassins, led by the ruthless John Baron (Frank Sinatra), who take over the house and hold the family hostage, planning to shoot the president from a large window in the home.
Olivia and Fitz now embrace being a couple, going public with their relationship, thus leading to Olivia taking on many more of the First Lady-established roles in the White House. She continues managing Olivia Pope & Associates, which Marcus Walker (Cornelius Smith Jr.) becomes a part of, even using it to spin her image once the world looks down on her due to her new relationship with the President. However, by the midpoint of the season she feels too suffocated in this new life, and so she leaves Fitz, the White House, and secretly has an abortion. Olivia returns to her old life, dealing with the aftermath of her and Fitz's break up, and Rowan gets out of jail and reclaims Jake as his lapdog, while Fitz starts sleeping around and is put in his place by Abby.
She looks down on him, and even demands money for their encounters, which—as she candidly tells her friends—are just about sex. But, in his turn, Masuo has no respect for Yoshino, whom he feels is beneath him.
At the dinner at which Bree is given the Business Woman of the Year award, Lynette learns that the secretary, Stu, at her old company Partcher and Murphy, is now owning his own company and in charge of the advertising campaign for Bree. Upset at the thought Stu is now such a huge success, Lynette becomes drunk at the ceremony and accuses Bree of looking down on her, before leaving through the emergency exit setting off the fire alarm. Lynette later apologizes for her behavior and confides in Bree that she looks down on herself and feels jealous at Bree's success. Bree claims there is nothing successful about her as her friends think she's going to drop them, her partner resents her and Orson is now sleeping in the guest room. Lynette expresses her support to Bree’s career and she assures Bree that she will resolve her problems.
Worko (Zvika Hizikias), is a 27 year old failed musician with sexist attitudes from Israel's marginalized Ethiopian community, who lives in Tel Aviv and gets in trouble with loan sharks. He escapes to Beit Shemesh, where he grew up, there he finds work in a community center while presenting as a woman named Titi, whose job is to facilitate women's empowerment workshops for Ethiopian women. He faces several challenges in this work: For one, he falls in love with his co-worker, Alsech (Elsa Almo), and must deal with the Ashkenazi director of the center (Lirit Balaban) who pretends to be a committed advocate for the Ethiopian community, cut in reality looks down on the people she is supposed to serve, and is condescending towards them. Worko is very successful in this work, and becomes a leader to the women, and an object of hope.

Although an 1842 Spanish land grant map clearly names the range of hills between the Suscol (Napa Valley) and Suisun Ranchos, and extending as far north as the Howell Mountain area as the "Sierras de Suscol" (Suscol Hills), this name is somewhat interchangeable today with "Sierra de Napa" (Napa Hills) and applies generally to the southernmost part of the range that looks down on the towns of Vallejo and Benicia. With the transformation of the northern Napa Valley into a premier wine-producing area and tourist attraction, names for the range such as the Howell Mountains and Mt. Howell Mountain is named after John Howell, who, with a partner in 1856, opened at St. Helena the first blacksmith shop in Napa County.
From Jaques' magazine work, in 1955 curator Edward Steichen selected three of his photographs for the world-touring Museum of Modern Art exhibition The Family of Man that was seen by 9 million visitors. In one close-up, three Canadian girls with grim expressions stand at a wire fence against a field that extends to a high horizon on which, in front of an overcast sky stands a house as square and simple as a child's drawing. Another, also shot in Canada, shows a late night in a bar with bentwood chairs stacked in the foreground in silhouette, and at the bottom of the frame sit two men drinking, one of whom throws back his head in laughter while a painting of a bare-breasted woman looks down on them. The third shows a broad tree-lined path in a Colombian park that is lit with dust-filtered low slanting light against which, at centre, appears a park labourer who kneels in prayer as a priest in a cassock passes, his sun umbrella held aloft by his male companion.
