In the girl's room he finds a strange nest made from twigs and straw, and a depiction of the burial mound drawn onto a wall with the word "home" below it.

Twelve years later, a bickering couple, Vietnam veteran Burt (David Anders) and his wife Vicky (Kandyse McClure), are driving near Gatlin, planning their second honeymoon, when a boy named Joseph (Remington Jennings) stumbles out of the roadside corn in front of their car. After running Joseph over, Burt realizes the boy's throat was slashed. Wrapping and placing the body in the trunk, Burt tells Vicky to wait for him while he looks around. In the cornfield, Burt finds Joseph's bloodied suitcase.

He starts looking into mirrors, and other reflective objects, seeing himself as a monstrous entity once again with deathly eyes and a gaping hole with menacing teeth for a mouth twice, walking through various places, including a street where he pushes through everyone in front of him. It ends with his meeting a woman in a bar, only to find her looking just like the monster. He then gets frightened and yells, proceeding to overturn a table and throw a chair through a window. Gontier finds out it was all a dream, but his bedroom is seen in shambles as he looks around in wonder.

First airing on January 10, 1984, the Wendy's commercial portrayed a fictional fast-food competitor entitled "Big Bun", where three elderly ladies are served an enormous hamburger bun containing a minuscule hamburger patty. While two of the women are commenting on the size of the bun, they are interrupted by an irascible Peller, who looks around in vain for customer assistance while making the outraged demand: "Where's the beef!"Where's The Beef Commercial, Remembering Matters, February 23, 2008 Sequels featured a crotchety Peller yelling her famous line in various scenes, such as storming drive-thru counters,Where's The Beef – Drive-Thru Commercial or in telephone calls to a fast-food executive attempting to relax on his yacht, the S.S. Big Bun.Time Magazine, "Prime Ribbing", March 26, 1984 Peller's "Where's the beef" line instantly became a catchphrase across the United States and Canada.
