However, as the convention drew near, the City of Los Angeles revoked the license for this lot when they learned it would be used for public events, forcing Devolver to cancel some events and squeeze other presenters, including their Megabooth, into the tight spaces between the private lot and their allotted convention floor space. Devolver has had a history of confrontation with ESA, and Devolver's co-founder Mike Wilson had accused the ESA of being involved with the city's revocation of the license, but ESA denied it had that type of influence within the city.
