Waterbird Regional Preserve is a regional park located in Contra Costa County, California, adjacent to the city of Martinez, CA. It is part of the East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD). It primarily consists of an area known as McNabney Marsh, which lies alongside Interstate 680 near the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and between two large and active oil refineries. The marsh drains into Suisun Bay via Peyton Slough. The area provides habitat for a wide variety of waterfowl and shorebirds for resting and feeding.

Lake Errock is an unincorporated settlement on the northwest shore of the lake of the same name, which is located in the Upper Fraser Valley region of the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada. It lies alongside BC Highway 7 and the tracks of the Canadian Pacific Railway between Deroche and Chehalis. Part of both the Mission phone exchange and British Columbia School District No. 75 (Mission), it is largely oriented towards Mission rather than eastwards to the Municipality of Kent, which lies east of Chehalis.

Frog Wood Bog is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the Teesdale district of County Durham, England. It lies alongside Bedburn Beck, approximately 3.5 km west of the village of Bedburn. The site mainly consists of mire vegetation, of two distinct varieties, one characterised by an abundance of bog mosses, Sphagnum spp, the other dominated by soft rush, Juncus effusus, and hare's-tail cottongrass, Eriophorum vaginatum. There are also areas of grassland and a secondary woodland of downy birch, Betula pubescens, with a groundcover of rush, bog mosses and purple moor-grass, Molinia caerulea.

The Woolhampton Reed Bed, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, lies alongside the River Kennet within the parish and to the south east of the village.Magic Map Application The dense reed bed, with smaller areas of tall fen vegetation and carr woodland, is notable for its nesting passerine bird populations and for the diversity of insects it supports. Upper Woolhampton in Bucklebury has long been in that larger parish ecclesiastically and secularly. it is on the same wide escarpment and has approximately the same amount of housing and population as Woolhampton itself.

Village Sign in Heckington The £2.5 million village bypass, built by Reed & Mallik Ltd of Salisbury, was opened by Lynda Chalker on 14 December 1982, and the former route of the A17 is now the B1394, which also leads to Billingborough via Great Hale across a level crossing over the partially single-track railway near the railway station. The village has three level crossings. Another linear settlement of East Heckington lies alongside the A17 road east of Heckington. To the north is Howell, which is part of the parish.

Benda is a village in the Brebes regency of Central Java,Dafter Guru - Jawa Tengah (1) with 4,000 inhabitants. There are seven neighborhoods in Benda: Benda I, Benda II, Karang Tengah, Karang Mulya, Kratagan, Bulawungu, and Jetak. Benda is about 400 meters above sea level and lies alongside a valley, which means that the climate in the village is a little cooler than the lowland cities along the coast of Java. Most of the villagers are farmers or small vendors, and rice fields extend on all sides of the village proper.

The park is located at the northeastern extremity of the Water of Leith's plain. The northern and eastern sides of the park are bounded by forested hills, part of the foot of Signal Hill. Another well-known monument in Finzean is the Dardanus Stone, which lies alongside the B976 road at Corsedardar. This standing stone was uncovered at the end of the 18th century and has been held together by iron bars since being broken in two by workmen in about 1850. Pow Hill Bog is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the Wear Valley district of County Durham, England. It lies alongside Derwent Reservoir, approximately 2 km north-west of the village of Edmundbyers and adjacent to the Edmundbyers Common portion of the Muggleswick, Stanhope and Edmundbyers Commons and Blanchland Moor SSSI. The site contains two types of mire, a valley mire and a soligenous mire, the former a scarce habitat in County Durham. There are also areas of heathland and semi-improved grassland, as well as small plantations of larch and spruce.

Also in the area is the Thorpe House housing estate, a popular development built in the 1930s. The tree-lined roads generous sized gardens, and numerous 3 bedroom semi detached house with gardens are popular with families of all ages through to retired people. The Brindley council housing estate also lies alongside Warminster Road, built in 1976–1977. Unlike numerous other examples of council housing, built with row after row of identical houses, this estate was built with curving roads, open communal areas and footpaths and so was popular with tenants.

The station buildings have been demolished but the main approach road on the north side of the line is still clearly visible. A loop line allows up trains (those towards London) from the South Wales Direct line to be moved aside while faster trains overtake them; there is no connection to this loop from the Bristol line. The approach road on the south side gives access to a Foster Yeoman stone distribution depot. The limestone arrives by train from the Mendip Hills and a siding serves the depot, alongside a single- ended siding that lies alongside the main line.

Llyn Ogwen is a ribbon lake in north-west Wales. It lies alongside the A5 road between two mountain ranges of Snowdonia, the Carneddau and the Glyderau. Somewhat unusually, the county boundary at this point is drawn so that the lake itself lies in the county of Gwynedd, but all the surrounding land (excluding the outflow) lies in Conwy County Borough. Llyn Ogwen lies at a height of about 310 metres above sea level and has an area of , but is a very shallow lake, with a maximum depth of only a little over 3 metres.

Summit Lake, elevation 710 m (2329 ft), is a lake in the Central Interior of British Columbia, Canada, located to the north of the city of Prince George. It is the namesake of the community of the same name, which lies alongside the John Hart Highway to the south of the community of McLeod Lake (Fort McLeod). It is at the head of the Crooked River, which flows north to McLeod Lake. Summit Lake is situated at the divide between the Fraser and Peace basins and so is at the divide between the Pacific and Arctic drainages.

The area that was to later become the park was initially the Stockade railway station, which was first opened in 1857 and built to service the colony's prisoner camp (then known simply as "The Stockade"). After a century of service, the station was closed in 1961, and the train line's terminus was moved back to the Northfield railway station and the area redeveloped. Dunwood Park lies alongside the Oldham and Rochdale Metrolink Line and has a children's play area, bowling green, and over a mile of wooded pathways along the base of a forested hillside. The land that forms Dunwood Park was presented to Crompton Urban District Council by Captain Abram Crompton JP on 22 June 1911, and opened as a park by him on 14 September 1912. It was redeveloped with a new park and bowling green for its 2012 centenary after winning a £1 million grant from the National Lottery. High Crompton Park is in High Crompton and is home to a tennis court, bowling green, children's play area, and gardens.

Meikleour Beech Hedges Meikleour Beech Hedges in early spring The Meikleour Beech Hedge(s) (European Beech = Fagus sylvatica), located near Meikleour, Perth and Kinross, Scotland, was planted in the autumn of 1745 by Jean Mercer and her husband, Robert Murray Nairne on the Marquess of Lansdowne's Meikleour estate. It is said the hedge grows towards the heavens because the men who planted it were killed at the Battle of Culloden. The hedge lies alongside the A93 Perth-Blairgowrie Road, and can be viewed by visitors all year round. The hedge is noted in the Guinness World Records as the tallest and longest hedge on earth, reaching in height and in length.

Corrigasleggaun () at , is the 35th–highest peak in Ireland on the Arderin scale, and the 45th–highest peak on the Vandeleur-Lynam scale.Mountainviews, (September 2013), "A Guide to Ireland's Mountain Summits: The Vandeleur-Lynams & the Arderins", Collins Books, Cork, Corrigasleggaun is situated in the southwestern sector of the Wicklow Mountains range, and is part of the large massif of Lugnaquilla , Wicklow's highest mountain. Corrigasleggaun lies at the head of the glen of the easterly flowing Carrawaystick River, which includes the scenic corrie lake of Kelly's Lough near its summit, and Carrawaystick Mountain at its base. Corrigasleggaun also lies alongside Lugnaquilla's South Prison, from which the River Ow flows south to the Aghavannagh Bridge.

The parish of Great Wilbraham has been occupied for thousands of years; a Neolithic camp was excavated in the west of the parish in 1976, and a Bronze Age barrow, where up to eight burials were discovered in 1852, lies alongside the Fleam Dyke in the southern corner of the parish. A possible Roman dwelling was also located in woodlands. The medieval history of Great Wilbraham is tied up with that of neighbouring Little Wilbraham, and they were first distinguished in the 13th century when it was also known as King's Wilbraham. Listed as Wilburgeham in the 10th century, and Wiborgham in the Domesday Book, the name "Wilbraham" means "Homestead of a woman called Wilburh".

Topographic prominence is a more difficult to estimate than topographic elevation, requiring surveys of each contour line around a peak, and therefore lists using prominence are subject to revision. Although many of the islands' largest mountains, including Ben Nevis, Carrantuohill, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, are Marilyns, many other large peaks such as Cairn Gorm, a number of Munros, and well-known hills such as Bowfell, the Langdale Pikes and Carnedd Dafydd, are not Marilyns because they do not have sufficient height relative to the surrounding terrain (i.e. they have taller "parents"). Not all Marilyns are even hills in the usual sense: Crowborough () sits in a town, whilst Bishop Wilton Wold highest point of the Yorkshire Wolds () lies alongside the A166 road.

Sam Yan Intersection is where Rama IV (which runs in a roughly east-west direction) meets Phaya Thai Road to the north and Si Phraya Road to the southwest. Between 1711 and 1719, as part of measures to drain the land now occupied by the Field of Mars, it was cleaned, deepened and renamed the Summer Canal () or the Summer Garden Canal (), after the Summer Garden, which lies alongside the canal's eastern bank. The Red Canal was dug to the west of the Field of Mars, also with the purpose of draining the land. The sides of the canal were reinforced with wooden piles, and possibly also lined with wooden railings about this time, as a 1761 document refers to their repair.

The next day, hidden amongst the smaller asteroids around Los Alamos 235, the Carthage and her crew watch the space surrounding the Black Asteroid, where an entire fleet of military ships have arrived to retake the station only to be wiped out by a powerful energy surge launched from the asteroid's entry point, draining the station of all external power and lowering its defences. The Carthage moves towards the station, entering unnoticed through the entry point as Call wonders whether the Predators have already made it here and if Ripley is still alive. Inside, Ripley lies alongside a Predator on the ground in a field of orange smoke as a monstrous super soldier crouches over them, bearing the appearance of a dark blue, muscular, bald humanoid with red eyes, fangs, clawed hands and biomechanical 'veins' at its neck and wrists.
