The fault zone is truncated to the SE by the 48 Ma Cooper Mountain batholith, which also obliterates its intersection with the southern continuation of the Pasayten fault. South of this batholith, only a narrow, discontinuous shear zone is on strike with the Foggy Dew fault and similar units lie on both sides of this projection of the RLFZ.

Several settlements lie on or near the reservoir. The largest is its namesake, the community of Perry, located on the Delaware River a few miles south of the dam. Ozawkie lies on the western shore at the lake's northern end. To the east and south of Ozawkie, a number of unincorporated communities lie on both sides of the lake.

Just west of the mortuary, Forest Preserve District of Cook County (FPDCC) picnic groves lie on both sides of the road. The Des Plaines River flows southward beneath a concrete bridge. The First Avenue cutoff allows westerly traffic to avoid the Chicago Central & Pacific R.R. diagonal grade crossing and turn right to head north on First Avenue (Illinois Route 171). FPDCC Miller Meadow lies north of the cutoff and extends one mile to Roosevelt Road.

Diplazium is a genus of ferns that specifically includes the approximately 400 known species of twinsorus ferns. The Greek root is diplazein meaning double: the indusia in this genus lie on both sides of the vein. These ferns were earlier considered part of either the Athyriaceae, Dryopteridaceae, Aspleniaceae, or Polypodiaceae families or recognized as belonging to their own taxonomic family. The Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016 (PPG I) places the genus in the Athyriaceae.

Grade II listed timber framed buildings dating from the seventeenth-century lie on both sides of the river, Maplestone Farmhouse to the north and a barn associated with Conster Manor Farm to the south. Just before the next bridge is Beckley Furnace Farm. Between 1578 and 1770, this was the site of an iron works, which produced cannons for the Royal Navy. The bellows for the charcoal furnaces were water- powered, but the works was unable to compete with furnaces located near to coalfields, which used coke for fuel.

Although Eastern Norway has a number of rivers, none of these flow into the ocean at Oslo. Instead Oslo has two smaller rivers: Akerselva (draining Maridalsvannet, which flows into the fjord in Bjørvika), and Alna. The waterfalls in Akerselva gave power to some of the first modern industry of Norway in the 1840s. Later in the century, the river became the symbol of the stable and consistent economic and social divide of the city into an East End and a West End; the labourers' neighbourhoods lie on both sides of the river, and the divide in reality follows Uelands street a bit further west.

The 10 kilometer wide Ross Lake fault zone (RLFZ) is part of a 500 kilometer long zone of high-angle faults in the North American Cordillera of Washington and Canada. The RLFZ consists of two major sets of faults. The eastern set of the Hozameen and Slate Creek faults and more southerly North Creek fault form the western boundary of the Jurassic-Cretaceous Methow River basin and in part separate it from metamorphic equivalents of Methow strata. Minor structures along the North Creek fault record dextral strike-slip events that occurred between approximately 88 and 50 Ma. The same formations lie on both sides of the faults, implying modest slip (10s of km?).

Aside from the growth of the government district, three urban developments radically changed the appearance of Wilhelmplatz between 1871 and 1914 more than anything. Palais Borsig on the corner of Voßstraße (left) and Wilhelmstraße, around 1881 In 1871, the Deutsche Baugesellschaft (German Construction Company) came into possession of the buildings and land of the Palais Voß. Out of speculative reasons, they developed a plan to tear down the Palais and make the grounds into a cul-de- sac, which would be accessible to Königgrätzer Straße, today's Ebertstraße. The parcels, which would lie on both sides of two new trafficked arteries of the city would be sold at a handsome profit to investors, who could build shop buildings there.
