The victims' dead bodies – often undressed and placed in empty cement bags – were wheeled out at night and buried in unmarked graves, leveled out afterwards in the vicinity of different Warsaw cemeteries: in Służew (till mid 1948), the Mokotów and the Powązki cemeteries, or in open fields, in around Pole Mokotowskie, Kabacki forest and Okęcie.

The Great Synagogue was destroyed by the invading Germans either in September 1939, at the very beginning of World War II (according to Polish online Virtual Shtetl),Łomża, Virtual Shtetl, Museum of the History of Polish Jews (Muzeum Historii Żydów Polskich) 2010 or in September 1941 (according to Pinkas haKehilot), soon after the German attack on the Soviet Union and the creation of the Łomża Ghetto for the Jews from surrounding villages and towns. Most likely the Great Synagogue was destroyed in stages, first burned down, and leveled out later. At present, only a memorial plaque marks the site of the former synagogue, with an inscription in Polish and Hebrew, which reads: > From July 1941 to November 1942 in the streets: Dworna – now 22-go Lipca, > Senatorska, Woziwodzka, Zielona, Żydowska – now Zatylna, and Rybaki, the > Nazis set up a ghetto, where they exterminated 9,000 Poles of Jewish > ethnicity. 3,500 of them were shot in the woods near the villages of > Giełczyn and Sławiec.

The other candidates who had been in the top ten of polling—Christie, Huckabee, Paul and Kasich—all leveled out at roughly 3% or less, while the five remaining candidates outside the top ten—Santorum, Jindal, Pataki, Graham and Gilmore—were consistently polling below 1%. By the third debate in late October, Bush and Fiorina's numbers were also beginning to fade, while Cruz was on the rise and began coming in fourth by most poll averages. The third debate only solidified these numbers: Bush and Fiorina remained in low digits as both were considered lackluster, while Cruz was widely held as the winner and rose even further. Throughout this period, both Trump and Carson had pulled well ahead of the rest of the field and with Trump often registering in the low 30s and high 20s and Carson in the low 20s, the two of them combined often made up well over 50% of the electorate in a vast majority of national polls.

Around 2:00 pm PDT (2100 UTC), Felicia intensified into a hurricane. Early the next morning, the storm continued to intensify and attained Category 3 status with winds of 115 mph (185 km/h). Maintaining a well-defined eye, Felicia neared Category 4 status and hours later, the storm attained winds of 140 mph (220 km/h) and a pressure of 937 mbar (hPa; 27.67 inHg) during the evening hours, making it the strongest Pacific storm east of the International Date Line since Hurricane Ioke in 2006 and the strongest in the eastern Pacific basin since Hurricane Daniel of 2006. Around 5:00 pm PDT (0000 UTC August 6) Felicia reached its peak intensity with winds of 145 mph (230 km/h) and a minimum central pressure of 935 mbar (hPa; 27.61 inHg). After slightly weakening throughout the day on August 6, Felicia leveled out with winds of 135 mph (215 km/h) and a 23 mi (37 km) wide eye as the storm developed characteristics of an annular hurricane, which would allow Felicia to maintain a high intensity over marginally warm waters.
