Unlike most lensed galaxies, the shape of the lensed light of this background galaxy appears shaped like a horseshoe. The foreground galaxy, LRG 3-757, is found to be extremely massive, with a mass a hundred times that of our galaxy. It is notable because it belongs to a rare class of galaxies called luminous red galaxies, which has an extremely luminous infrared emission. The system was discovered in 2007 by an international team of scientists using the comprehensive Sloan Digital Sky Survey and is greatly studied by the Hubble Space Telescope.
A light source passes behind a gravitational lens (point mass placed in the center of the image). The aqua circle is a source as it would be seen if there was no lens, white spots are the multiple images of the source. The foreground lens is a galaxy. When the background source is a quasar or unresolved jet, the strong lensed images are usually point-like multiple images; When the background source is a galaxy or extended jet emission, the strong lensed images can be arcs or rings.

Also of significance was the single lens giving the indications in multiple head interlocking signals in a fixed location with regard to the mast and the other signal heads, this not being the case with multiple lenses color light signals. In time the costs of the significantly more expensive searchlight signal's relay began to outweigh the savings from its compact size and single bulb when compared with the simple multiple lensed color light signal. By the end of the 1980s the searchlight had lost its position as the most popular signal style in North America. To overcome the issues of associated with moving parts, new solid state, single-lensed signals have been developed.
In 2000, four independent groups published the first detections of cosmic shear, and subsequent observations have started to put constraints on cosmological parameters (particularly the dark matter density \Omega_m~ and power spectrum amplitude \sigma_8~) that are competitive with other cosmological probes. For current and future surveys, one goal is to use the redshifts of the background galaxies (often approximated using photometric redshifts) to divide the survey into multiple redshift bins. The low-redshift bins will only be lensed by structures very near to us, while the high-redshift bins will be lensed by structures over a wide range of redshift. This technique, dubbed "cosmic tomography", makes it possible to map out the 3D distribution of mass.

Galaxies have random rotations and inclinations. As a result, the shear effects in weak lensing need to be determined by statistically preferred orientations. The primary source of error in lensing measurement is due to the convolution of the PSF with the lensed image. The KSB method measures the ellipticity of a galaxy image.
The staff of Variety magazine said of the film, "William Cameron Menzies' production has an off-the-beaten path design that helps generate the melodramatic mood desired. The shear is proportional to the ellipticity. The objects in lensed images are parameterized according to their weighted quadrupole moments. For a perfect ellipse, the weighted quadrupole moments are related to the weighted ellipticity. KSB calculate how a weighted ellipticity measure is related to the shear and use the same formalism to remove the effects of the PSF.
For a light source of infinite area, intensity does not decrease at all. Generally, a soft light source does not drop in intensity as quickly as a point light source would (as distance increases). Certain lensed lighting instruments (e.g. ellipsoidal reflector spotlights) have a good deal of "throw" and do not lose much intensity as distance increases.

He lensed more than 50 features and shorts over the course of his career, and also racked up several credits as a camera operator.
Most myriapods bear stemmata - that is, single lensed eyes which are thought to have evolved by the reduction of a compound eye. However, members of the chilopod genus Scutigera have a compound eye, which is composed of facets and not, as earlier interpretations had it, of clustered stemmata. that were thought to grow in rows, inserted between existing rows of ocelli.
Fratricide concerns began during the Persian Gulf War, when 35 American troops were killed by friendly fire. During this period, soldiers often used low-tech methods to communicate, such as painting inverted "Vs" on allied vehicles or waving red-lensed flashlights. Army requirements for a combat identification system were recognized by the DoD’s Joint Requirements Oversight Council in March 1992.
The company was also offering their "Dynabeam" lensed follow spot, and fresnels from 100 to 2000 watts. In that era of patch panels and small numbers of high wattage dimmers, Kliegl Brothers offered its "Safpatch" patch panels, and "Rotolector" rotary power switches, both developed by Herbert Kliegl. Both products interlocked the electrical contacts with a circuit breaker, preventing arcs while switching or patching.
The film was made for $15,000, money borrowed from the Duplass's parents. All of the film's actors were paid $100 a day, with extensive improvisation used. It was lensed with Panasonic AG-DVX100. The scenes set in North Carolina were actually filmed in the small town of Milbridge, Maine, hometown of Katie Aselton; in fact, the filmmakers stayed with Aselton's parents during production.

Set during the Iran Iraq war, the film is an early example of Sacred Defence cinema.
In 2005, R. L. Simone gave a detailed anatomical description. A. gigas has a long extensible snout with two eyestalks (also known as ommatophores) that originate from its base. The tip of each eyestalk contains a large, well-developed lensed eye, with a black pupil and a yellow iris and a small slightly posterior sensory tentacle. Amputated eyes completely regenerate.
Observations from the Gemini South Telescope has shown that ESO 146-5 has gravitationally lensed two galaxies, a galaxy 2.7 billion light years away, and the other, 5.1 billion light years away. Using Einstein's theory of general relativity, it was measured to be approximately 30 trillion solar masses, making it the one of the most massive galaxies in the known universe.
Memories of India reflects Matthew's mixed background, as she was born in England, raised in India and now is living in America. The images are a time warp, revisiting the sights, sounds, and smells of her childhood impressions of her cultural homeland, India. The images are captured by the use of a simple plastic-lensed Holga camera, that makes images with a dreamy quality.
SDSSJ0946+1006 gravitational lens SDSSJ0946+1006 is an unusual gravitational lens system consisting of three galaxies at distances of respectively three, six, and eleven billion light years from Earth. In a report presented at the 211th meeting of the American Astronomical Society, researchers Raphael Gavazzi and Tommaso Treu of the University of California, Santa Barbara described the discovery of a double Einstein ring produced by the gravitational lensing of light from two distant galaxies. The observations were made using the Hubble Space Telescope. The main lens lies at redshift , with the inner ring at with an Einstein radius and magnitude , the outer ring is at with and magnitude arXiv preprint: 2-Feb-2008 The lensing galaxy is also known as SDSSJ0946+1006 L1, with the nearer lensed galaxy as SDSSJ0946+1006 S1, and the farther lensed galaxy SDSSJ0946+1006 S2.
Supernova explosions produce such heavy elements, so hot, large, Population III stars which will form supernovae are a possible mechanism for reionization. While they have not been directly observed, they are consistent according to models using numerical simulation and current observations. A gravitationally lensed galaxy also provides indirect evidence of Population III stars. Even without direct observations of Population III stars, they are a compelling source.
On the eastern wall, above the elevated altar area, is an angled plain white surface used for magic lantern shows, generated using a replica of the double-lensed acetylene gas powered lanterns of the period, mounted in the aisle of the main seating area. Off the western end of the hall is the vestry, featuring a small library and communion sets from Trimdon Colliery and Catchgate.
Galaxy cluster MACS J2129-0741 and lensed galaxy MACS2129-1. Kaiser, Squires and Broadhurst (1995), Luppino & Kaiser (1997) and Hoekstra et al. (1998) prescribed a method to invert the effects of the Point Spread Function (PSF) smearing and shearing, recovering a shear estimator uncontaminated by the systematic distortion of the PSF. This method (KSB+) is the most widely used method in weak lensing shear measurements.
In 2011, the original was demolished due to water damage and, ironically, insect infestation. Francis was redesigned, fabricated and donated by self-taught Staten Island artist Lenny Prince. Francis "2.0" is crafted from over 50 pieces of sculpted metals, including sheet metal and stainless steel, various sized muffler pipes, re-bar and other found metal objects. The realistic multi-lensed eyes are crafted from catalytic converters.
He would be tucked all the way back over and just above the rear wheel. His right elbow would be down while his left up as opposed to having them near perfectly level. This along with his red and white Hutch uniform and helmet with mirrored lensed goggles gave an impression of the comic book superhero Spider-Man swinging on his web.Go July 1991 Vol.
A microlensing event in the Twin Quasar gravitational lensing system was observed in 1996, by R. E. Schild, in the "A" lobe of the lensed quasar. It is predicted that a 3-Earth-mass planet in the lensing galaxy, YGKOW G1, caused the event. This was the first extragalactic planet candidate announced. This, however, is not a repeatable observation, as it was a one-time chance alignment.
Millipede eyes consist of several simple flat-lensed ocelli arranged in a group or patch on each side of the head. These patches are also called ocular fields or ocellaria. Many species of millipedes, including the entire orders Polydesmida, Siphoniulida, Glomeridesmida, Siphonophorida and Platydesmida, and cave-dwelling millipedes such as Causeyella and Trichopetalum, had ancestors that could see but have subsequently lost their eyes and are blind.
Abell 1835 is a galaxy cluster in the Abell catalogue. It is a cluster that also gravitational lenses more-distant background galaxies to make them visible to astronomers. The cluster has a red shift of around 75,900 km/s and spans 12′. In 2004, one of the galaxies lensed by this cluster was proposed to be the most distant galaxy known, Galaxy Abell 1835 IR1916.
Such quasars are called blazars. The hyperluminous quasar APM 08279+5255 was, when discovered in 1998, given an absolute magnitude of −32.2. High-resolution imaging with the Hubble Space Telescope and the 10 m Keck Telescope revealed that this system is gravitationally lensed. A study of the gravitational lensing of this system suggests that the light emitted has been magnified by a factor of ~10.
The skin is naked and covers the body like a loosely fitting sock. They have cartilaginous skulls (although the part surrounding the brain is composed primarily of a fibrous sheath) and tooth-like structures composed of keratin. Colors depend on the species, ranging from pink to blue-grey, and black or white spots may be present. Eyes are simple eyespots, not lensed eyes that can resolve images.
Neither spoke much French and Schley was nearly blind if not wearing his thick-lensed eyeglasses, but he impressed the maquisards with his immaculately tailored military uniform. Both proved to be effective instructors.Braddon, pp. 176-185, 236 Wake said that she and Tardivat initiated a series of attacks on German convoys and fought off an attack on their camp by the Germans in which seven French maquisards were killed.
Scutigera is a centipede genus in the family Scutigeridae. Member of the genus have pseudofaceted eyes. This type of eye consists of a cluster of numerous ocelli on each side of the head, organised in a way that resembles a true compound eye, a type of eye found in arthropods. Most myriapods bear stemmata - that is, single lensed eyes which evolved by the reduction of a compound eye.

This was the first production use of KernerFX's Kernercam stereoscopic 3D camera rig. When the project was brought to Kerner Studios, Kerner requested that a number of features previously considered 'tricky' for 3D capture be included in the film including fire, crystal glass and motion. "Butler's in Love" was lensed by Peter Anderson, ASC, the famous 3-D Cinematographer that had originally designed the Kerner 3-D rig for his filming of "Godzilla 3-D".
John Hannavy: Encyclopedia of nineteenth-century photography, Volume 1. From Google Books Retrieved 10 February 2010. The idea of using a photograph instead of a printed visiting card came from France where it was patented by André Adolphe Eugène Disdéri in 1854 with a four-lensed camera which could take from eight to twelve photographs on the same glass negative. As the prints could be collected in albums, the technique became extremely popular.
Jay Weissberg from Variety (magazine) states in 2009, "The power of desire has rarely been so ravishingly lensed" but "without dialogue and awash in naked male-on-male couplings", it would be difficult to sell the film to audiences. Armond White from New York Press on 10 June 2009 noted "[Director] Hernández further develops his ideas on form, romanticism and spirituality. His images are beautiful and intriguing enough to win the popular audience he deserves".
" (The New York Times) "The worst major studio film we've seen in recent memory." (Santa Monica Outlook) " Blue City is fictionally set in Florida, but was lensed entirely in California, thus managing to shame the citizenry on one coast and the film making industry on the other, all at the same time." (Daily Variety) Filmink said "The music score is genuinely great. Nelson isn’t entirely comfortable in the role, to put it kindly.

Last accessed: February 13, 2011. Variety also received the film favorably: "Director-cowriter James Foley has given this near-perfect adaptation of a Jim Thompson novel a contempo setting and emotional realism that make it as potent as a snakebite...Lensed in the arid and existential sun-blasted landscape of Indio, Calif, the pungently seedy film creates a kind of genre unto itself, a film soleil, perhaps."Variety. Film review. Last accessed: February 13, 2011.
Dogtooth was met with critical acclaim, winning the Un Certain Regard award at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. Film critic Roger Ebert praised Bakatakis' cinematography for resembling "a series of family photographs of a family with something wrong with it". In 2010, Bakatakis lensed Athina Rachel Tsangari's directorial debut Attenberg. Tsangari had served as a producer on Kinetta and an associate producer on Dogtooth, and the film also features Lanthimos in an acting role.

She also exhibited her work in Copenhagen, often participating in person as she did in 1888. In 1899, she started to produce enamel jewelry and cufflinks embedded with photographs using direct positives produced with a four-lensed multiplicator camera. She had made special arrangements for the equipment to be imported from the United States to facilitate the work. The jewelry was shown at a Christmas exhibition at Copenhagen's Industry Association, attracting the attention of the royal family.
This kind of focussing is well known when it comes to optical lenses, and hence the corresponding gravitational effect is called gravitational lensing. The geometry of such situations is explored in chapter 23 of . Observational astronomy uses lensing effects as an important tool to infer properties of the lensing object. Even in cases where that object is not directly visible, the shape of a lensed image provides information about the mass distribution responsible for the light deflection.
The Birth of a Nation (1915), Hearts of the World (1918) and Broken Blossoms (1919) were partially or fully lensed at the studio. The sets for Intolerance (1916) were erected across the street where the Vista Theatre stands. In 1915, Thomas Ince's Kay-Bee Pictures, Mack Sennett's Keystone Studios, and D. W. Griffith's Reliance-Majestic studio were combined to form the Triangle Film Corporation, which was headed by Harry and Roy Aitken. In 1927, Tiffany Pictures acquired the lot.
Abell 2218 is a cluster of galaxies about 2 billion light-years away in the constellation Draco. Acting as a powerful lens, it magnifies and distorts all galaxies lying behind the cluster core into long arcs. The lensed galaxies are all stretched along the cluster's center and some of them are multiply imaged. Those multiple images usually appear as a pair of images with a third — generally fainter — counter image, as is the case for the very distant object.
Warby Parker designs its product in-house, and sell directly to consumers through its website and stores. The company orders its own materials, such as acetate, from Italy and then manufactures frames at the same Chinese factories as competitors such as Luxottica. This manufacturing process enables Warby Parker to offer lensed glasses at competitive prices. On average, a Warby Parker customer completes more than one order per year and buys an average of 1.5 units per order.
Even accounting for the magnification, the quasar is an extremely powerful object, with a luminosity of 1014 to 1015 times the luminosity of the sun. Subsequent observations with the Hubble Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph confirmed the presence of a third faint image between the two brighter images. Each component has the same spectral energy distribution and is an image of the quasar. Gravitational lensed systems with odd numbers of images are extremely rare; most contain two or four.
Mark Shannon (born Manlio Cersosimo; 8 December 1939 – 2018), sometimes also billed as Mark Shanon or Mark Channon, was an Italian pornographic actor active mainly from 1979 to 1988 and cast - often as protagonist - in more than 30 Italian adult films, many of which were produced, lensed and directed by Joe D'Amato. He was the first Italian male protagonist in Italian cinema performing non-simulated sex on screen and has been called the first Italian "pornodivo".
A multiple-image quasar is a quasar whose light undergoes gravitational lensing, resulting in double, triple or quadruple images of the same quasar. The first such gravitational lens to be discovered was the double-imaged quasar Q0957+561 (or Twin Quasar) in 1979. An example of a triply lensed quasar is PG1115+08. Several quadruple-image quasars are known, including the Einstein Cross and the Cloverleaf Quasar, with the first such discoveries happening in the mid-1980s.
Its scientists use both simulations of galaxy formations, radiative transfer simulations, and observations of gravitationally lensed galaxies to understand and investigate the Universe beyond our own galaxy. Observations are carried out with the Hubble Space Telescope and the Nordic Optical Telescope among others. The group is also a key player in the COMAP carbon monoxide intensity mapping experiment. The Rosseland Centre for Solar Physics combines theory, numerics and observations to provide insights into the solar atmosphere.
As suggested by the exhibition title, a select group of artists was given a choice of photographs lensed by a featured photographer, to interpret as they wished. Terry O’Neill was the featured photographer of the inaugural Reworked exhibition in 2010. Mylne was chosen as one of six artists to collaborate with the renowned photographer for Terry O'Neill, Reworked. The artist opted for a vintage photograph of Sean Connery as his James Bond character, shot during filming of Diamonds Are Forever.
Webster completed an MSc at the University of Sussex in 1980 and, in 1985, completed her PhD on Gravitational Lensing and Cosmology at Cambridge University. She then undertook a postdoctoral position at the University of Toronto focussing on the Einstein Cross, a gravitationally lensed quasar. In 1992, Rachel Webster returned to the University of Melbourne, where she received a grant for research related to the Parkes Quasar Survey. She was primarily concerned with how galaxies bend light, known as gravitational lensing.
Abell 2218 was used as a gravitational lens to discover the most distant known object in the universe as of 2004. The object, a galaxy some 13 billion years old, is seen from Earth as it would have been just 750 million years after the Big Bang.NBC News: "Galaxy ranks as most distant object in cosmos" The color of the lensed galaxies is a function of their distances and types. The orange arc is an elliptical galaxy at moderate redshift (z=0.7).
The reception of the film was polarized, but more positive than Herschell's previous films. The violence & gore was seen by some as excessive and acting was criticized as well. However, the film's themes on sex-positivity, Vietnam War trauma, & modesty were seen to have merit. Allmovie wrote, "Herschell Gordon Lewis' final feature is so crudely lensed and unrelentingly violent that it's tempting to believe the whole thing was made solely as a prank", calling it "a fascinatingly sick swan song".
The DASI was a compact interferometer made up of 13 small telescope elements in a pattern with three lines of symmetry. Zilberman directed, co-wrote and produced A Late Quartet which starred Philip Seymour Hoffman, Christopher Walken, Catherine Keener, Mark Ivanir and Imogen Poots. The film premiered in the Special Presentation program at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. Inspired by and structured around Beethoven's Opus 131, the film follows the world-renowned Fugue String Quartet after its cellist Peter Mitchell (Christopher Walken) is diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Cinematographer Frederick Elmes lensed the film and composer Angelo Badalamenti composed the score for the film.
Classily lensed in widescreen and tighter than a rattler's tail, this should be a steady rental earner (and possible cult movie) in mature markets—where the cast of U.S. video regulars will strike chords among buffs—with some theatrical business elsewhere. Plot springs some surprises both in its outlandishness and in not respecting casting conventions. Otherwise, it's purely formulaic, referencing any number of bigger-budgeted predecessors in look and content. Roberts, surprisingly good, and Van Dien handle the dialogue best, and Catherine Oxenburg, as Renart's wife, worst.
CL 1358+62 (ClG 1358+62) is a galaxy cluster located at z=0.33 redshift. Behind the cluster (which itself lies at a distance of about 3.9 billion light years), lensed into a red arc is an infant galaxy (CL 1358+62 G1) that was the farthest object in the observable universe for a few months. It had a record redshift of z=4.92 and was discovered on July 31, 1997 by M. Franx and G. Illingsworth. It is located approximately 26 billion light years from Earth.
170px Francis "Frank" Rossitano (Judah Friedlander; Fred Armisen in select scenes of "Live from Studio 6H") is a writer at TGS of Sicilian descent. After Liz, Frank is the most prominently- featured and prolific writer of the show-within-a-show. Frank is habitually slovenly and childish; he lives with his mother and is an aficionado of video games, comic books and figurines, and pornography. He wears a variety of trucker hats with humorous phrases (which Friedlander also wears in real life) and large, thick-lensed glasses.
The Lynx Arc was discovered in 2003 and is considered to be the hottest known star-birthing region in the Universe as of October 2003. It is located at . It is located in the constellation Lynx, 12 billion light years away (z=3.357R. A. E. Fosbury et al. The pilot is shot with the Sony F55 in 4K raw in a distributed aspect ratio of 16:9. Preacher cinematographer John Grillo spoke of his love of the pilot, which was lensed by Bill Pope. For the pilot, Grillo liked how Pope was able to balance all the comic book elements, which include dark comedy, gore, horror and drama, while stating Pope's work on the pilot was a big influence, although Grillo wanted to bring his own ideas to the visuals in the future episodes.
In 1967, both of the Schicks were hired by Pittsburg State University, at the time known as Kansas State College at Pittsburg. In 1969, she went back to the idea of putting her body through one of the sculptures of David Smith. Instead of the flat two-dimensional pieces she had made up to that time, she molded a brass headpiece with tubes on which she welded blue-lensed glasses at eye- level. Nicknaming the piece Blue Eyes, Head Sculpture changed the focus of her work from metalwork jewelry to wearable sculpture.
She lensed several episodes of the TV series Legion (2017–2019) and the films The Intervention (2016), Slumber (2017), and Spinning Man (2018). The British Film Institute said for Slumber, Morgan "created nightmarish visuals", and for The Intervention, she provided an "intimate, intense look". The BFI said of her cinematography in the latter, "The relaxed aesthetic [gives] way to sharper angles and deeper shadows as the story evolves and motivations are revealed." In 2018, Morgan became a member of the ASC, having been recommended by Goi, Dean Cundey, and Robert Primes.
Gomez first teased "Fetish" through a short clip which debuted at the end of the music video for her previous single, "Bad Liar". Before the teasing, it was speculated rapper Gucci Mane would appear as the featured artist on a future release, with Mane confirming the collaboration during an interview with 99 Jamz radio station. Gomez followed with several cryptic images tied to the forthcoming song on her Instagram account. The image for the single cover was shot by fashion photographer Petra Collins, who also lensed her artwork for "Bad Liar".
Gertsman's first film of note was Jungle Captive; he shot the final two Sherlock Holmes movies starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce, Terror by Night and Dressed to Kill, and the final Rondo Hatton vehicle, The Brute Man. At American International Pictures he photographed the horror satire How to Make a Monster, while at United Artists he lensed Invisible Invaders and The Four Skulls of Jonathan Drake. In 1959, he became the cinematographer on the television series Adventures in Paradise. His film work became far less frequent after 1960.
APM 08279+5255 was initially identified as a quasar in 1998 during an Automatic Plate Measuring Facility (APM) survey to find carbon stars in the galactic halo. The combination of its high redshift (z=3.87) and brightness (particularly in the infrared) made it the most luminous object yet seen in the universe. It was suspected of being a gravitationally lensed object, with its luminosity magnified. Observations in the infrared with the NICMOS high- resolution camera on board the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) showed that the source was composed of three discrete images.
Tran was inspired to make the film after visiting Hanoi during a break in the filming of Cyclo during the Christmas holidays in 1994. This drama was lensed in Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, as well as in Hạ Long Bay and the village of Luoi Ngoc, Quảng Ninh Province. The film's original score is composed by Tôn-Thất Tiết. Additionally, three songs of the noted Vietnamese songwriter Trịnh Công Sơn are interspersed through the film, as are songs by The Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, Arab Strap, and The Married Monk.
Buckminster Fuller wore thick-lensed spectacles to correct his extreme hyperopia, a condition that went undiagnosed for the first five years of his life.Thomas T. K. Zung, Buckminster Fuller: Anthology for a New Millennium Retrieved June 13, 2016 Fuller's hearing was damaged during his Naval service in World War I and deteriorated during the 1960s. After experimenting with bullhorns as hearing aids during the mid-1960s, Fuller adopted electronic hearing aids from the 1970s onward. In public appearances, Fuller always wore dark-colored suits, appearing like "an alert little clergyman".
French Empire gilt scissors-glasses c.1805 Scissors-glasses (or binocles- ciseaux) are eyeglasses, normally used to correct distance-vision, mounted on scissoring stems rather than on temple stems as modern eyeglasses are. The invention of scissors-glasses solved the problem of the single lensed monocle or "quizzing glass", thought to be tiresome to the eye, by providing two lenses on a "Y" shaped frame. They usually had a ring in the end of the handle so that they could be worn on a ribbon or gold chain around the neck.
Its prostomium is wider than long, with 4 coalescent lensed eyes arranged trapezoidally; anterior eyespots are absent. It counts with pyriform antennae with bulbous bases and elongated tips, its median antenna measuring 40 µm long, while lateral ones measure 33 µm, which is longer than its prostomium and palps together. Its median antenna is inserted between its anterior pair of eyes, the lateral ones attached on the anterior margin of its prostomium. The animal's palps are ventrally-directed, fused along their length and with a dorsal notch and few small papillae.
CLASH Survey Brightest Cluster Galaxies and Simulations. As of November 2012, the CLASH has surveyed 20 clusters out of the 25. The following year he and coworkers extended Abraham H. Taub's solution to the Einstein field equation obtaining the Taub–NUT space. He also generalized the Kerr metric developed by Roy Kerr to include a charged body, resulting in the Kerr–Newman metric. In 1973 he advocated the use of complex numbers in relativity, and consideration of complex spacetime. Some of his most interesting recent work has involved the problem of reconstructing the gravitational field within some region from observations of how optical images are lensed as light rays pass through the region.

Shinin' On is the eighth studio album by American rock band Grand Funk Railroad. The album was released in March 1974, by Capitol Records. Although not as successful as its predecessor, We're an American Band (1973), it peaked at #5 in the US and was certified gold, and its first single, a cover of "The Loco-Motion" topped the U.S. charts.Grand Funk Railroad, "The Loco-Motion" US Chart Position Retrieved March 24, 2015 The original cover was done in bi- visual 3-D and included the required blue and red lensed glasses to view it.
The following year, he shot the music video for Radiohead's song "Identikit", from their album A Moon Shaped Pool. This marked yet another work with Lanthimos, who directed the video. Later that year, Bakatakis lensed another directorial debut, Benedict Andrews' drama Una, before again collaborating with Lanthimos for the 2017 film The Killing of a Sacred Deer. Film critic Mark Kermode praised how the film's cinematography "accentuates the sense of dread as his cameras creep and crawl through hospital corridors, like the lurking spirits in The Shining – all low-angle prowls and ghostly high glides".
The player, as the game's protagonist, receives the cursed "Diary of Faces" in an unmarked package. Upon seeing the first page through a dual- lensed variant of the "Camera Obscura" (the 3DS outer cameras), the player is taken into an old house. Maya encounters and stops the player from entering one of the doors, and they are brought out of the house and back into the player's world. Upon returning, Maya explains that the person beyond the door is the "Woman in Black", who takes the faces of people who become trapped by the diary.
Martinus Willem Beijerinck: Dutch father of industrial microbiology. (SIM News 46(2):69–72) In 1676, Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, who lived most of his life in Delft, Holland, observed bacteria and other microorganisms using a single-lens microscope of his own design. He is considered a father of microbiology as he pioneered the use of simple single-lensed microscopes of his own design. While Van Leeuwenhoek is often cited as the first to observe microbes, Robert Hooke made his first recorded microscopic observation, of the fruiting bodies of moulds, in 1665.
Dody Jane Dorn (born April 20, 1955) is an American film and sound editor, best known for working with director Christopher Nolan on several films including Memento (2000). Dorn was nominated for the Academy Award for Memento, which Variety described as a "...beautifully structured puzzle..." that "...deconstructs time and space with Einstein-caliber dexterity in the service of a delectably disturbing tale of revenge ... Dody Dorn's editing is top-notch as pic -- scripted, acted and lensed with precision -- smoothly toggles back and forth between sequences in B&W; and in color."Nesselson, Lisa (2000). Original members Carey Howe and Michael Olivieri returned in 2007 and Leatherwolf re-issued World Asylum with Olivieri's vocals in place of Wade Black as New World Asylum, again mixed by Hansen. In the fall of 2007, Leatherwolf embarked on a short European tour, highlighted by a headline appearance at the 9th edition of Germany's Keep It True festival. Guitarist Geoff Gayer was let go at the end of the trip and replaced by Greg Erba with whom the band lensed a video clip for "Dr. Wicked (Rx O.D.)" with Karpis Maksudian at the helm once again.
Kinnison sends a lensed thought to Mentor and asks what an Arisian is doing leading Boskone? Mentor's explanation satisfies Kinnison so he never realizes that in actuality, he has just defeated and destroyed Gharlane of Eddore, the entity who, as Nero, Gray Roger, and many others, was responsible for most of the death and misery in Earth's history. Mentor has used his mental power to make Kinnison see what he thinks is an Arisian instead of Gharlane's actual form. The time has not yet come for any member of Civilization to see what the ultimate leaders of Boskone actually are.
In honor of Turlington's fortieth birthday, W magazine put together a collection of notable images from her career, from runway shots from the late eighties to today. In 2008, casting agent James Scully said regarding Turlington: Turlington was one of the faces to land in one of the fourteen covers of V magazine September 2008 issue. Each cover boasts a head shot of a famous model, either from the new crop of leading models or the supermodel era, it was lensed by duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. She featured in the Bally spring/summer 2009 campaign alongside Oriol Elcacho.
Akshamsaddin (Turkish scientist) mentioned the microbe in his work Maddat ul-Hayat (The Material of Life) about two centuries prior to Antonie Van Leeuwenhoek's discovery through experimentation: In 1546, Girolamo Fracastoro proposed that epidemic diseases were caused by transferable seedlike entities that could transmit infection by direct or indirect contact, or even without contact over long distances. Antonie Van Leeuwenhoek is considered to be the father of microbiology. He was the first in 1673 to discover and conduct scientific experiments with microorganisms, using simple single-lensed microscopes of his own design.Payne, A.S. Boyd's feature directorial debut, Well Wishes, was a 2013 quarter- finalist of Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope Screenplay Contest before entering production in October 2013. The film was lensed at 65 locations across North Carolina over a period of 29 days with a production budget of only $300,000, qualifying it for the now-defunct North Carolina Film Incentive 25% refund. Boyd won Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Feature Narrative for the film at the 2015 Williamsburg International Film Festival. He is currently writing a follow-up feature film, an international crime drama concerning 3D printing.
For M.A.D., Alessandroni, an engineer, provided the funding, while his son acted as producer on set. Donatella Donati, the daughter of Ermanno Donati, became D'Amato's assistant and constant collaborator, usually acting as production secretary and assistant director. The two companies were the main vehicles for D'Amato's film production of this period. From 1980 until 1982, D'Amato produced 14 hardcore pornographic films through both companies (Cinema 80: 9 films, M.A.D.: 5), 10 of which he directed and lensed himself, while 3 of the films (Blue erotic climax, Labbra vogliose and Le porno investigatrici) were directed by Claudio Bernabei.

Nagel was represented by numerous modeling agencies from 1980–1989, including Parker- Sed, Ford Models and Click Model Management. She appeared on magazine covers in Germany and Italy and in fashion magazines including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Madamoiselle and Brides and worked with photographers including Bruce Weber, Patrick Demarchelier and Joyce Tennyson. Nagel appeared in campaigns for fashion brands including Calvin Klein [lensed by Bruce Weber], Pringle of Scotland and Triumph International as well as in advertisements for retailers including Macy's, Bloomingdales and Karstadt. In 1992, Nagel moved to Los Angeles and started acting in American and German productions.
Telescopefish are presumed to be solitary, active predators, frequenting the mesopelagic to bathypelagic zones of the water column, from 500 to. 3,000 m. By using their tubular, large-lensed eyes--which are adapted for optimal binocular light collection, at the expense of lateral vision-- telescopefish are likely able to spy their prey's weak bioluminescence from a distance, as well as (by looking skyward) resolve the outlined silhouettes of prey against the gloom above. Their eyes may also help telescopefish to better judge distance of prey; these visual adaptations are typical of deep-sea fish (barrel-eye, tube-eye).
Using single-lensed microscopes of his own design, van Leeuwenhoek was the first to experiment with microbes, which he originally referred to as dierkens, diertgens or diertjes (Dutch for "small animals" [translated into English as animalcules, from Latin animalculum = "tiny animal"]). Through his experiments, he was the first to relatively determine their size. Most of the "animalcules" are now referred to as unicellular organisms, although he observed multicellular organisms in pond water. He was also the first to document microscopic observations of muscle fibers, bacteria, spermatozoa, red blood cells, crystals in gouty tophi, and blood flow in capillaries.
The Dance Again World Tour was filmed in 3D for an upcoming theatrical film, entitled Dance Again. The film's producer, Simon Fields, described it as a "high energy documentary" that will "combine 3D concert performances with 2D-lensed documentary content, which will be shot during Lopez's world tour on stops in Europe, Asia and Australia". According to Fields, the documentary portion of the film will follow both Lopez's personal and professional life, including "her reflections on her romantic happiness" following her divorce from Marc Anthony. Ality Technica will be handling the 3D production for the movie, while Ted Kenney will direct the 3D shoots.
It has no hands, but rather uses three concentric pairs of stacked annular disks—one pair each for hours, minutes and seconds—slotted and lensed to allow the selective escape of light from an enclosed, continuously lit set of light emitting diodes. The arrangement of slots in each disk, along with the rotation of the foremost disk of each pair, creates a Vernier effect, producing the illusion of lights rotating at various speeds about three concentric circumferences on the clock's face. The pendulum speeds up, slows down, and sometimes stops, but returns to the correct time every five minutes. Taylor designed the clock to remind himself of his own mortality.
Bosley Crowther of The New York Times wrote that the film was a faithful adaptation of the comic strip, and that the best part were the epic action scenes. He observed that the film would satisfy younger viewers. Variety wrote: "Although the picture comes in a bit overlength at 100 minutes, the direction and Dudley Nichols' scripting combine to bring it off acceptably against some rather dazzling settings, including authentic castles actually lensed in England". A rave review in Harrison's Reports called it "one of the most exciting and thrilling action-filled romantic adventure melodramas ever brought to the screen", and called Wagner "a human dynamo" in the title role.
Abell 1835 was discovered by French and Swiss astronomers of the European Southern Observatory, namely Roser Pelló, Johan Richard, Jean-François Le Borgne, Daniel Schaerer, and Jean-Paul Kneib. The astronomers used a near-infrared instrument on the Very Large Telescope to detect the galaxy; other observatories were then used to make an image of it possible. The Observatory, in conjunction with the Swiss National Science Foundation, the French Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, and the journal Astronomy and Astrophysics, issued a press release on 1 March 2004 announcing the discovery. It was believed to be more distant than the galaxy lensed by Abell 2218.
One of the galaxy clusters, MACS J0647+7015 was found to have gravitationally lensed the most distant galaxy (MACS0647-JD) then ever imaged, in 2012, by CLASH. The first statistical study of X-ray cavities in distant clusters of galaxies was performed by analyzing the Chandra X-ray observations of MACS. Out of 76 clusters representing a sample of the most luminous X-ray clusters, observers found 13 cut and clear cavities and 7 possible cavities. A new radio halo, as well as a relic applicant, were found in MACS, with the help of the Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope and the Karoo Array Telescope-7.
Writing on 12 May 1965, "Whit," a reviewer for Variety, said that Mutiny in Outer Space "stacks up as a suitable minor entry." But he went on to praise "Grimaldi's direction of the Arthur C. Pierce script" and said that the film was "deftly lensed" by cinematographer Archie R. Dalzell and that "George White's editing is a plus." Modern American film scholar Gary Westphal praises the film for making "important points about the dangerous effects of prolonged life in space." However, he writes, it better "recalls more fanciful films," such as The Green Slime, than it does the more documentary-like 1950s films Project Moon Base and Conquest of Space.
When ordered by temperature and when duplicate classes were removed, the spectral types of stars followed, in order of decreasing temperature with colors ranging from blue to red, the sequence O, B, A, F, G, K and M. (A popular mnemonic for memorizing this sequence of stellar classes is "Oh Be A Fine Girl/Guy, Kiss Me".) The luminosity class ranged from I to V, in order of decreasing luminosity. Stars of luminosity class V belonged to the main sequence. In April 2018, astronomers reported the detection of the most distant "ordinary" (i.e., main sequence) star, named Icarus (formally, MACS J1149 Lensed Star 1), at 9 billion light-years away from Earth.
Each of the two feature films, lensed between April and October, gave him three scenes with some well-defined medium shots. Walt Disney's family drama, Those Calloways, directed by Norman Tokar, billed him eighth, behind Brian Keith, Vera Miles, Brandon deWilde, Walter Brennan, Ed Wynn, Linda Evans and Philip Abbott. Playing Linda Evans' father, a wise and compassionate small-town shopkeeper, he provided supportive advice to his daughter and the object of her affection, played by Brandon deWilde. The other feature, The Satan Bug, a doomsday thriller about the theft from a bacteriological lab of a deadly virus capable of causing immense casualties, was directed by John Sturges and scripted by James Clavell from the novel by Alistair MacLean.
J1000+0221 was the most distant gravitational lens galaxy known (up until the discovery of the IRC 0218 lens galaxy), and remains the most distant quad- image lens galaxy discovered so far. The measured distance the light has traveled, including the lensed deflection, is 9.4 billion light years. A very recent discovery by a group of astronomers led by Dr Arjen Van der Wel from the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany, the results of which are accepted for publication on October 21, 2013 in the Astrophysical Journal Letters (arXiv.org). Using NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, the astronomers discovered this quadruple gravitational lens dubbed J1000+0221 which would provide a further test for Einstein's theory of general relativity.
Hoffman and Thompson rise above the sometimes obvious story arc, and the result is a surprisingly tender and appealing love story." Joshua Rothkopf of Time Out New York rated the film three out of five stars and commented, "If anything can be said to be wrong with so benign an affair, it’s simply that Last Chance Harvey doesn’t feel much like cinema. Little excites the material visually; the film’s dully lensed Blighty lends nothing to the drama. But to watch Hoffman and Thompson work the lines is to witness two extremely unlikely stars recapture the essence of their appeal: The tiny neurotic is suddenly Romeo again, while the cool Brit melts in the light of affection.
Upon release of the song, the group celebrated the release with an exclusive photoshoot lensed by British fashion photographer Rankin, along with a featured spread in Hunger Magazine. Mushroom Records handled the release in Australia, which included the song being sent to radio stations for airplay. Scherzinger also released a TikTok video of her washing her hands to "React" on March 16, 2020, the feature covered by the Official Charts Company was part of a drive by celebrities to increase awareness of hygiene as part of tackling the COVID-19 pandemic. On April 3, 2020, the Cash Cash remix of "React" was released to digital outlets, and an exclusive acoustic performance was released by Hunger Magazine and Vero.
An American inventor, Charles Francis Jenkins, also pioneered the television. He published an article on "Motion Pictures by Wireless" in 1913, but it was not until December 1923 that he transmitted moving silhouette images for witnesses; and it was on 13 June 1925, that he publicly demonstrated synchronized transmission of silhouette pictures. In 1925 Jenkins used the Nipkow disk and transmitted the silhouette image of a toy windmill in motion, over a distance of 5 miles (8 km), from a naval radio station in Maryland to his laboratory in Washington, D.C., using a lensed disk scanner with a 48-line resolution."Radio Shows Far Away Objects in Motion", The New York Times, 14 June 1925, p. 1.
Counting Michael Bay among its producers, this South Africa–lensed production might tempt adventure-seeking viewers to plunge into its crystal-blue waters, but despite some handsome aspects, the show ultimately proves as hollow as its CGI-rendered ships". Emily VanDerWerff of The A.V. Club said, "Black Sails is a handsome illusion at times, but it rarely finds its way beyond that." The second season of the show currently holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 8 reviews, with an average rating of 8.7/10. Neil Genzlinger of The New York Times said, "Starz knows the formula for these costume-heavy action dramas from experience with shows like Spartacus and Camelot.

Measuring the aberrations of point-like stars enables corrections to be applied to the images of galaxies during processing. Since cosmic shear cannot be measured for a single galaxy and can only be detected statistically from many galaxies, the level to which cosmic shear can be measured depends on the amount of available galaxies being lensed. If a large number of galaxies with intrinsically random oriented ellipse directions can be observed in the same region of the sky, there will be less of an error on the final measurement for the cosmic shear. However, if there exists an intrinsic ellipse direction for a particular group of galaxies in a region of the sky, it can yield an artificially high value for the cosmic shear in that region.

Gene Callahan (November 7, 1923—December 26, 1990) was an American art director as well as set and production designer who contributed to over fifty films and more than a thousand TV episodes. He received nominations for the British Academy Film Award and four Oscars, including two wins (in 1962 and 1964). A native of Louisiana, Eugene F. Callahan had a lifelong association with the state. He kept a home in the capital, Baton Rouge, where he began his designing career in the 1940s as a student at Louisiana State University, and his penultimate film assignment was as production designer on Steel Magnolias, lensed in Natchitoches in 1989. Callahan was a prolific contributor to early television, starting with the first full-schedule broadcast season in 1948–49.
Stewart was delighted that he was taking her music to a new audience. The album features many other traditional Scottish singers, including Lizzie Higgins and Scottish Gaelic singer Flora MacNeil, as well as Michael Marra narrating an English translation of psalm 118 in the track Liberation. In Bennett's sleeve notes for Grit, he wrote, “In recent years so many representations of Scotland have been misty-lensed and fanciful to the point that the word ‘Celtic’ has really become a cloudy pigeon hole. This album was a chance for me to present a truthful picture, yet face my own reflection in the great mirror of all cultures.” The album skillfully interweaves old and new sounds and has been "credited with starting the musical evolution of Celtic fusion".

It is the only process known that can produce such high power over a very long term. (Stellar explosions such as supernovas and gamma-ray bursts, and direct matter–antimatter annihilation, can also produce very high power output, but supernovae only last for days, and the universe does not appear to have had large amounts of antimatter at the relevant times). Gravitationally lensed quasar HE 1104-1805 Animation shows the alignments between the spin axes of quasars and the large-scale structures that they inhabit. Since quasars exhibit all the properties common to other active galaxies such as Seyfert galaxies, the emission from quasars can be readily compared to those of smaller active galaxies powered by smaller supermassive black holes.
Although spectroscopic measurements are necessary to obtain a high-precision redshift, spectroscopy is typically much more time-consuming than imaging, so the selection of candidate galaxies via the Lyman-break technique greatly improves the efficiency of high-redshift galaxy surveys. The issue of their far-infrared emission is still central to the study of Lyman-break galaxies to better understand their evolution and estimate their total star formation rate. So far, only a small sample has been detected in far-infrared. Most of the individual results rely on an information gathered from lensed Lyman-break galaxies or from the rest-frame ultraviolet, or from a few objects detected by the Herschel satellite or using the stacking technique that allows researchers to obtain averaged values for individually undetected Lyman-break galaxies.
Brewster was unable to find in Britain an instrument maker capable of working with his design, so he took it to France, where the stereoscope was improved by Jules Duboscq who made stereoscopes and stereoscopic daguerreotypes, and a famous picture of Queen Victoria that was displayed at The Great Exhibition. Almost overnight a 3D industry developed and 250,000 stereoscopes were produced and a great number of stereoviews, stereo cards, stereo pairs or stereographs were sold in a short time. Stereographers were sent throughout the world to capture views for the new medium and feed the demand for 3D images.E2 3-D – history of 3-D Cards were printed with these views often with explanatory text when the cards were looked at through the double-lensed viewer, sometimes also called a stereopticon, a common misnomer.
Poly has endorsed and appeared in advertisements for fragrances including Givenchy's Ange ou Demon, Gucci by Gucci Fragrance, and Jimmy Choo Flash. Poly was one of the faces to headline one of the fourteen covers of V magazine's September 2008 issue. In 2008, she was scouted at the San Francisco State University campus bookstore for the 11th cycle of America's Next Top Model. After being selected as a cast member, she was consistently one of the top five finalists to be called out first at the end of each episode, her portfolio frequently garnering much praise from the judges. On the second episode, she was called out first for portraying the political issue of immigration during the voting-themed photo shoot lensed by Mike Rosenthal. Marjorie excelled in the seventh episode: her high-fashion take on the "Hunchback from Notre-Dame" impressed Tyra Banks during the Signature Pose Challenge, winning her diamonds at Rafinity Jewelry valued at 12k, which she chose to split evenly with friend and contestant Analeigh Tipton.
During the time he spent on the snow-covered mountains while often hiding in caves or in camouflaged shelters under the omnipresent Iraqi aerial bombardment, he tried his hands at sketching portraits and script-writing, drawing from what little knowledge he had acquired from reading superhero comics (Tarzan, Superman, Batman) and from watching spaghetti Westerns back in Zakho. Two years later (1976) he received political asylum in the United States. Rosebiani acquired the knowledge of filmmaking at NOVA community college in the mid eighties while managing movie theaters and making experimental videos for a cable television in Northern Virginia. Rosebiani’s film debut, "Dance of the Pendulum" (1995) a parody to exploitation in Hollywood b-movies, was lensed entirely in the house of the late Liberace in Studio City, California, doubled as a mountain cabin.
Hyper luminous Infrared Galaxies (HyLIRG), also referred to as HiLIRGs and HLIRGs, are considered to be some of the most luminous persistent objects in the Universe, exhibiting extremely high star formation rates, and most of which are known to harbour Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN). They are defined as galaxies with luminosities above 1013 L⊙, as distinct from the less luminous population of ULIRGs (L = 1012 – 1013 L⊙). HLIRGs were first identified through follow-up observations of the IRAS mission. IRAS F10214+4724, a HyLIRG being gravitationally lensed by a foreground elliptical galaxy, was considered to be one of the most luminous objects in the Universe having an intrinsic luminosity of ~ 2 × 1013 L⊙. It is believed that the bolometric luminosity of this HLIRG is likely amplified by a factor of ~30 as a result of the gravitational lensing.
On some company's lines, a 3-aspect semaphore prevailed and these showed an intermediate 'Caution' aspect and thus bore a three-lensed spectacle. In 1911, the Metropolitan Line was first to use an upper quadrant semaphore, the idea being brought over from the United states. Following nationalisation in 1948, British Railways standardised on upper quadrant semaphores and all regions gradually adopted that mode, replacing lower quadrant signals gradually except that the Western Region stayed with their well-proven and nicely proportioned lower quadrant semaphores with eventually, a heavy cast iron spectacle bearing circular coloured glasses, replacing the former thinly bordered cast spectacle frame with shaped coloured glasses, the main arms being 4ft long and subsidiaries 3ft with other subsidiaries 2ft long. Previous GWR 5ft arms placed if higher than 26ft above rail level, were changed to 4ft.
Head of Polistes with two compound eyes and three ocelli, circled A simple eye (sometimes called a pigment pit) refers to a form of eye or an optical arrangement composed of a single lens and without an elaborate retina such as occurs in most Vertebrata. In this sense "simple eye" is distinct from a multi-lensed "compound eye", and is not necessarily at all simple in the usual sense of the word. The terminology is not rigid, and must be interpreted in proper context; for example, the eyes of humans and of other large animals such as most Cephalopoda, are camera eyes and in some usages are classed as "simple" because a single lens collects and focuses light onto the retina or film. By other criteria, the presence of a complex retina distinguishes the vertebrate camera eye from the simple stemma or ommatidium.
Sesso nero (literally: "Black sex"; internationally: Sexy Erotic Love; United States DVD release: Exotic Malice) is a 1980 Italian adult drama film starring Mark Shannon, Annj Goren, Lucia Ramirez, and George Eastman, who also wrote the screenplay. It was produced, lensed and directed by Joe D'Amato. The film is most notable for being the first Italian hardcore pornographic film to be shown in Italian theatres, and one in a series of four hardcore pornographic films D'Amato shot back-to-back in the second half of 1979 in the Dominican Republic, the others being the porn/horror crossover films Erotic Nights of the Living Dead and Porno Holocaust, and the pornographic thriller Hard Sensation. Although Sesso Nero was the last one of these films to be shot, it was the first to be distributed and shown in Italian theatres.
The first key project for the SPT, completed in October, 2011, was a 2500-square degree survey to search for clusters of galaxies using the Sunyaev–Zel'dovich effect, a distortion of the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB) due to interactions between CMB photons and the Intracluster medium in galaxy clusters. The survey has found hundreds of clusters of galaxies over an extremely wide redshift range. When combined with accurate redshifts and mass estimates for the clusters, this survey will place interesting constraints on the Dark Energy equation of state. Data from the SPT-SZ survey have also been used to make the most sensitive existing measurements of the CMB power spectrum at angular scales smaller than roughly 5 arcminutes (multipole number larger than 2000) and to discover a population of distant, gravitationally lensed dusty, star-forming galaxies.
Stages in the evolution of the eye (a) A pigment spot (b) A simple pigment cup (c) The simple optic cup found in abalone (d) The complex lensed eye of the marine snail and the octopus The eye is frequently cited by intelligent design and creationism advocates as a purported example of irreducible complexity. Behe used the "development of the eye problem" as evidence for intelligent design in Darwin's Black Box. Although Behe acknowledged that the evolution of the larger anatomical features of the eye have been well-explained, he pointed out that the complexity of the minute biochemical reactions required at a molecular level for light sensitivity still defies explanation. Creationist Jonathan Sarfati has described the eye as evolutionary biologists' "greatest challenge as an example of superb 'irreducible complexity' in God's creation", specifically pointing to the supposed "vast complexity" required for transparency.
Phase 3 Peugeot 306 3-door Peugeot 306 Break Peugeot 306 sedan Models from mid-1999 saw further improvements and exterior modifications, including clear lenses on the headlamps, round and clear lensed foglamps, complete colour-coding of the exterior trim, removal of the black plastic strip on the lower edge of the tailgate, flush glass seal to rear windscreen, a redesigned tailgate rear badge, different rear wiper and new paint colours. Interior upgrades were more minor, with the gearknob becoming rounder and silver topped, while the instrument binnacle received a silver background and white instrument needles in place of the previous red versions. XSi, XT and D Turbo models all received the GTi-6's bodykit and interior styling additions but not the cyclone alloy wheels. In the diesel variants, the ageing XUD engine was replaced by the newer, HDi engine, which featured common rail injection.
Between 1975 and 1977, he wrote the screenplay and lensed the film on various locations around Poland, as well as Crimea, the Caucasus Mountains and even the Gobi Desert. In spring 1977, however, the project came to a sudden halt with the appointment of the hardline ideologue Janusz Wilhelmi as the Vice-Minister of Culture. Perceiving the Selenites' battle against the Szerns as a thinly veiled allegory of the Polish people's struggle with totalitarianism, Wilhelmi shut down the filming, which was 80% complete and ordered all materials destroyed. Andrzej Żuławski, who wrote that he was in despair over the loss and waste of so much artistic effort, went back to France, but the reels of unfinished film, instead of being destroyed, were preserved, along with costumes and props, by the Polish film studio and archives and by members of the film's cast and crew.
1992 Ford Sierra MkII Azura (UK) 1990 Ford Sierra MkII CLX dashboard After the major facelift of 1987, and the introduction of the DOHC engines in 1989, further changes to the Sierra were superficial. Some detail styling changes were made in 1990, when the dashboard styling was freshened up, the front was given clear-lensed indicators, the rear given smoked rear lamp lenses, the steering wheel redesigned and a new front grille was added, together with fuel injection as standard, 15-inch wheels and rear disc brakes. UK production of the Sierra ceased in 1990 with right hand drive production moving to Belgium. For the 1991 model year, the 1.6 litre Pinto engine was finally dropped and replaced by a CVH unit of similar capacity, marking the end of the venerable Pinto unit after it had been introduced in the Cortina/Taunus some 21 years earlier.
S. Ravindranath and L. C. Ho - Magellan Spectroscopy of the Galaxy Cluster RX J1347.5-1145: Redshift Estimates for the Gravitationally Lensed Arcs (2002) In 2013, one study found eight cases of the same object resulting from the intense gravitational bending of light, which makes it possible to identify a series of remote galaxies located inside the galaxy cluster with calculations from the photometric method between 5.5 and 7.5.F. Köhlinger and R.W. Schmidt - Strong lensing in RX J1347.5-1145 revisited (2013) That study made use of data from Cluster Lensing and Supernova survey with Hubble (CLASH) as well as other sources. The colors in the galaxy cluster are known to correspond with the level of brightness, or the number of electrons trapped in the examined wavelength range of the cluster, with the colors Red, Orange, and yellow as light, Blue-Green, Green-Medium-Light, Blue, and Violet dark, and is considered one of the brightest objects that is known by X-ray.
" In a reservation, Weissberg wrote that Sokurov's "established fans" will be "the only audience for this largely impenetrable though undeniably impressive indulgence". Regarding the visuals, he noted the unexpected collaboration between the cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel and Sokurov, and wrote: "[W]hile the stillness that marks the first films of his quartet (self-lensed) is little in evidence, visuals here are striking in their mottled gray tonalities. ... The influence of Flemish and Dutch painting on Sokurov's work has never been clearer than in Faust, with its deep debt to the witchcraft paintings of artists such as David Teniers and Herri met de Bles." Manohla Dargis of The New York Times wrote: "...and bliss out the next on the delirium that is “Faust,” the latest from Alexander Sokurov (“Russian Ark”). An eccentric interpretation of the Goethe play, “Faust” is mesmerizing, at times predictably if divertingly bewildering and beautiful, with images that burn into your memory, like that of an embracing couple falling into a lake in a vision of desire and the abyss that invokes “L’Atalante” but is definitely Sokurovian.
For example, the fruit fly's compound eye is made of hundreds of small lensed structures (ommatidia); the human eye has a blind spot where the optic nerve enters the eye, and the nerve fibres run over the surface of the retina, so light has to pass through a layer of nerve fibres before reaching the detector cells in the retina, so the structure is effectively "upside-down"; in contrast, the cephalopod eye has the retina, then a layer of nerve fibres, then the wall of the eye "the right way around". The evidence of pax-6, however, was that the same genes controlled the development of the eyes of all these animals, suggesting that they all evolved from a common ancestor. Ancient genes had been conserved through millions of years of evolution to create dissimilar structures for similar functions, demonstrating deep homology between structures once thought to be purely analogous. This notion was later extended to the evolution of embryogenesis and has caused a radical revision of the meaning of homology in evolutionary biology.
The album's single "Desperation" recorded in duo with Parmisano won 1st prize at the 18th Annual USA Songwriting Competition. In April 2013, Hal Leonard Books (one of the biggest US publishing houses) released “The Great Jazz Guitarists” encyclopedia, the most comprehensive guide to jazz guitarists ever published (from Django Reinhardt to Les Paul, Jeff Beck and beyond) with information about Roman Miroshnichenko. The Great Jazz Guitarists In 2014, Steve Vai with Roman Miroshnichenko's rock-band and the 80-piece Russian Philharmonic performed in Russia. Next year, double disc DVD “Stillness in Motion: Vai Live in L.A.Stillness In Motion" was released with a bonus disc premiering “The Space Between the Notes", a revelatory video diary consisting of more than three and a half hours of footage, lensed around the world on-stage, off-stage and behind-the-scenes, rehearsal and the show moments of Steve's joint performance with Roman Miroshnichenko and orchestra during Vai’s "Story of Light" World Tour. In 2015 "War & Peace", The Opera was presented at the World Of Guitar Festival in Russia.
The popularity of the vehicle inspired Mitsubishi to create three limited editions (with the intention to build up to 1000 units of each limited edition), two of which were named the Pajero Jr. McTwist, and Pajero Jr. Lynx, which were exhibited at the 32nd Tokyo Motor Show in 1997."Mitsubishi Motors 32nd Tokyo Motor Show Exhibits" , Mitsubishi Motors press release, October 15, 1997 Both of these limited edition models shared the same base specification as the ZR-II, with the addition of a wood-effect insert on the dashboard and upgraded interior trim (grey on the McTwist, beige on the Lynx). External differences were that the McTwist model (built from October 1996 to June 1998) sported a plastic A-frame bullbar with 6" (15 cm) spotlights, and the Lynx model (built from May 1997 to July 1997) sported a stainless steel bar upon which two small 5" (12 cm) spotlights were mounted. The yellow lensed spotlights on both of these models were sourced from Robert Bosch GmbH and were supplied with black removable grilles displaying "BOSCH" in white text.
The galaxy was identified in the Hubble telescope Reionization Lensing Cluster Survey (RELICS) and companion S-RELICS Spitzer program and is at the limits of Hubble's detection capabilities.(January 11, 2018) NASA's Great Observatories Team Up to Find Magnified and Stretched Image of Distant Galaxy Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California, Retrieved 2019-06-10 As a consequence of the effect of a gravitational field of a galaxy cluster of an extremely large size, SPT-CL J0615-5746, (abbreviated to SPT0615), situated at a distance closer to earth, light from SPT0615-JD located at a further distance, is amplified and distorted (lensed - Einstein 1936; Khvolson 1924; Link 1936) on its motion to the Hubble telescope. This distortion causes the light from the galaxy to arrive as an image lengthened to an arc of about 2 arcseconds long. "JD" is short for "J-band Dropout" (the galaxy is not detected in the so- called J-band (F125W)Daniel Coe with CLASH (PI Marc Postman) - Hubble Spies Most Distant Galaxy Yet Retrieved 2019-06-10 The observed image is of 13.3 billion years ago, indicating the galaxy existed when the universe was about only 500 million years in existence.
