Nosey Barbon, who wants to be Jimson's protégé, greets Jimson at HM Prison Wormwood Scrubs, but Jimson tries to discourage Nosey from pursuing painting for a living. Jimson goes to his houseboat, which his older lady friend Coker has been maintaining in his absence. Jimson tries to borrow money from Hickson and Coker.

Later Sonny confided in Scully about what his stepfather, had done to Adela. The next day, Scully decided to "take care of" Deke, making sure Sonny had an alibi. On Scully's orders, Vince had arranged for Officer Deke Woods to be in an alley beside a nightclub when he went off duty. The club was owned by a lady friend of Scully's, who was not in the mob, but was obviously connected.

"Old John Robertson" is a song by the American rock band the Byrds, written by band members Chris Hillman and Roger McGuinn, and first released in July 1967, as the B-side to the non-album single "Lady Friend". It was also later included on the band's 1968 album, The Notorious Byrd Brothers. The version of "Old John Robertson" featured on the single is a substantially different mix from the version that appeared on The Notorious Byrd Brothers.

He encounters two muggers in Central Park and attacks them with lethal doses of electricity from his gauntlets. The Vigilante meanwhile, continues to cut a bloody swathe of bodies in the name of justice. He breaks into Charles McDade's limousine and shoots McDade and his lady friend Mona Simpson to death. That evening, Vigilante learns that the Electrocutioner is back in town and is in fact targeting the same criminal element that the Vigilante himself is.

History of The Byrds provides a chronological survey of the band's career from 1965 to 1971, a period when they were signed to Columbia Records. It begins with the Byrds' debut single on Columbia, "Mr. Tambourine Man", and culminates with their final single release for the label, "America's Great National Pastime". The album features the first appearance on an LP of the non-album single "Lady Friend" and the 1965 B-side "She Don't Care About Time".

A new stereo remix of the song, without the drum overdubs, was released on The Byrds box set in 1990. Former medical student Melvin has dropped out and now works (after a fashion) in a planning office of an unnamed city. The office supervisor is his big sister, who "mothers" him instead of making him perform well. Melvin accidentally makes telephone contact with an old friend, and they decide to meet for dinner that evening. The friend arrives early for drinks with a lady friend; by the appointed time, four people are involved, each connected somehow to at least one of the others.

That money, combined with the rent he had received, made him one of the wealthier farmers in the area. His wife died of cancer a few years after the war ended, and he died of a heart attack while "enjoying the company" of his new lady-friend, Eloise Granche, a few months before the 1941 war began. A similar, but not equivalent, concept is the more ambiguous "lady friend" - a companion of the female gender who is possibly less than a girlfriend but potentially more than a friend. Using meticulous planning and split-second timing, Pike, along with his associates, the erudite 'Professor' and tough-guy scrapper 'Doc', attempt to find proof that will clear Gerry and identify the real culprits.

In this film, Max is a little boy, placing "A Very Goofy Christmas" chronologically before all other titles Max appears in. The direct-to-video computer animated film Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas (a sequel to Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas) is currently Max's latest appearance in any Disney media produced. In the segment titled "Christmas Maximus", Max has grown up into a young adult. He brings his lady friend Mona (whom Max hopes to make his girlfriend) home for Christmas to meet his father.

Together with his classmates, he torments his teachers Crey and Bömmel and headmaster Knauer with adolescent mischief. His lady friend Marion unsuccessfully tries to persuade him to give up his foolish charade and return to his writing career. Eventually, he falls in love with the headmaster's daughter Eva and discloses his identity after masquerading as his teacher Crey in school. Having initially been mixed in mono for its release as a single in 1967, "Lady Friend" wasn't released in stereo until its inclusion on the 1987 compilation album, Never Before. However, this version of the song also featured the addition of overdubbed drums, played by an unnamed session musician. Reaction to the new drumming on the song among fans was almost universally negative, with many feeling that the addition of then-modern sounding drums was completely inappropriate and incongruous. Subsequently, this doctored version of the song has not appeared on any other album release.

Younger Than Yesterday was issued on Compact Disc for the first time by Edsel Records in 1987. It was later reissued by Columbia in the U.S. in 1989 and in the UK in 1993. It was then remastered at 20-bit resolution and reissued (with three of its tracks remixed) in an expanded form on April 30, 1996, as part of the Columbia/Legacy Byrds series. The Columbia/Legacy reissue featured six bonus tracks, including "Lady Friend" and "Old John Robertson", which had both been issued on a non-album single in July 1967.

After a final single for Polydor, a cover version of The Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses", the band split up. The band also recorded two David Crosby songs, "It Happens Each Day" and "Lady Friend", for the album Time Between - A Tribute to the Byrds under the name Static in 1991, receiving a 'thanks to' credit on the back cover. Gilles and Shedden were also in the band 13 Frightened Girls with singer Sumishta Brahm, releasing a sole single, "Lost at Sea" in 1991. Scott went on to join Horse Latitudes.

However, Gillespie is soon appointed as the acting Sheriff of Newton County when Nathan McComb suffers a heart attack and is too ill to continue his duties. This new appointment for Gillespie angers several on the city council. They want an investigation, which is upsetting and hurtful for Harriet. Other cases involve a nine-year-old girl being killed because of a drunk driver (Hagman-directed), the return of Parker's stepfather, Roy Eversole (Pat Hingle, first seen in Season 6) and his lady friend Miss Roda (Anne Meara).

Her candy got stuck, he tries to hit it loose with no avail, so he puts in money to get it to go out for her. Eventually this patient goes to see Sheldon again, saying he is getting better and has a lady friend named Alyssa. Sheldon thinks it's the little girl that went missing but has no proof. As the sessions go on, things seem to be going wrong with “Alyssa” and Sheldon goes to the cops saying he knows he's breaking protocol but he thinks his patient has the missing girl.

Mount Ida is an abandoned town located in the Goldfields-Esperance region in Western Australia. It is found between Mount Magnet and Leonora Named after a geographical feature situated about 21 km south of the town which was named by the explorer John Forrest while on expedition in the area in 1869. It is thought to be named after a lady friend of Forrest. Gold was later discovered in the area in the 1895 resulting in a gold rush and by 1896 the town boasted a population of 200.

In less than a month after LaPage's execution, a tip came from Saint-Alexandre, Quebec, that he most likely had murdered a mother and daughter there. According to George Fountie, his wife and 16-year-old daughter Minnie had been murdered by LaPage on October 12, 1867. The pair had gone to the village, about two and a half miles away from their home, for trading purposes. In May 1929 the first 27-page hand-booklet detailing how Habonim was to function was published by Aron with help in the mimeographing from Norman Lourie and his lady friend Nadia, who he later married. Vivian must babysit her adult cousin, making sure she gets to nursing school and avoids pills and booze. But Vivian has her own problems: she's curious about sex, likes an apparently twenty- something neighbor, Eliot, has inherited her mother's ample breasts, and wants a family that doesn't embarrass her. Vivian's older brother Ben aspires to a show business career, while her dad aspires to feminine companionship but would not give in to wealthy lady-friend Doris Zimmerman's desire that he send his kids back East to live with his ex-wife. Nigel Fisher wrote that this was not so, but that Macleod would have resigned if Butler had done so. As of 20, this augmented version of "Old John Robertson" remains unreleased. Two tracks that have not appeared on any other release, however, are the stereo remix of "Lady Friend", featuring newly recorded drumming, and The Notorious Byrd Brothers outtake, "Flight 713". Never Before is currently out of print, but remains sought after by Byrds collectors due to the presence of these two tracks.

Sach develops an uncanny ability to sing, after having his tonsils removed, and Slip convinces Louie to turn his sweet shop into a night club, The Bowery Palace, after unsuccessfully trying to get Sach a singing job at a neighboring club, The Rio Cabana. After Sach's singing makes him a star, Rick Martin (Craig Stevens), the owner of the now-rival club, tries to hire him away but is unsuccessful. Rick gets his lady friend, Lola (Adele Jergens), to get Sach to sign a contract with him, using the pretense that she is asking for his autograph. Rick then goes after the Bowery Palace's other star, Sally Dolan (Phyllis Coates).

When a lady friend rebuked him for this on the basis that Eldon was now over eighty, Landor replied unmoved with the quip "The devil is older". He had several other publications that year besides Pericles, including "Letter from a Conservative", "A Satire on Satirists" which included a criticism of Wordsworth's failure to appreciate Southey, Alabiadas the Young Man, and "Terry Hogan", a satire on Irish priests. It is possible that Ianthe was living at Bristol, but the evidence is not clear, and in 1837 she went to Austria, where she remained for some years.

The quiet life of Oxford professor James Westgate (Bob Peck) is shattered when he is introduced to Penny (Miranda Richardson), the wife of his crass new colleague (Barry Foster). Westgate recognises her as his childhood sweetheart "Patch", and the two resume their friendship. Westgate is bored with his mundane college life, including his German friend Boris who experiments on animals in the lab, and his lady friend Amanda, as well as the attentions of a shy male student who claims to be in love with him. He is only too happy to be diverted into joining Penny in her search for missing archaeologist Pilkington (a fellow Oxford colleague).

In series four, Diana's financial situation collapses and Tom discovers that his room is infested with damp. Tom forces Harvey to upgrade him to a new apartment in Bayview and allow Diana to live with him as his lady friend. By series five, the two become engaged along with Harvey and Jane, who first get together as part of a cynical scheme to get Harvey accepted into an exclusive country club. When the plan fails, and Jane responds by quitting her job to begin the process of becoming a nun, Harvey realises that he has come to enjoy Jane being in his life and the two go through with their vows.

The original cast at the Ballet Club on the 5 March 1933 consisted of Frederick Ashton as A Personage, Alicia Markova as His Lady Friend, Pearl Argyle as His Wife, Walter Gore as Her Lover, Elisabeth Schooling and Betty Cuff as Two Young Girls and Anna Brunton, Elisabeth Ruxton and Tamara Svetlova as Three Ladies with Fans. At the premiere the music was played by Helen Gaskell, Cecil James and Charles Lynch. Poulenc's Trio for oboe, bassoon and piano was composed in Cannes in 1926, dedicated to Manuel de Falla, and premiered in Paris on 2 May that year. The three movements are marked Presto, Andante and Rondo.

In the song, Hillman recalls the children of the town and their cruel laughter at this colorful figure, as well as the combination of awe and fear that he elicited in the townsfolk. During the recording of the song, Crosby switched instruments with Hillman to play bass instead of his usual rhythm guitar. The track also makes liberal use of the studio effects known as phasing and flanging, particularly during the song's orchestral middle section and subsequent verse. The version of "Old John Robertson" found on the B-side of the "Lady Friend" single is a substantially different mix from the version that appears on The Notorious Byrd Brothers album.

Mlle. Caumont as Virginie ;Act I At a girls' school in Brighton on the south coast of England, the French mistress, Virginie Touchet, when not teaching French, surreptitiously indulges in an irresistible and ruinous addiction to gambling. She has befriended the young dancing teacher, Nancy Joye, under her wing. When Nancy uses her modest savings to help Virginie out, the latter promises her a huge reward if she wins the enormous cash prize with her latest "investment", a ticket for the Panama Lottery. The ticket wins, but nobody discovers the fact except for Widdicombe, the school butler, who throws over his previous lady-friend, Jeanie, the school's tuckwoman, and pursues Virginie.

However, as the boy grows older, he spends less time with the tree and tends to visit her only when he wants material items at various stages of his life, or not coming to the tree alone (such as bringing a lady friend to the tree and carving "Me +Y.L." (her initials, often assumed to be an acronym for "young love") into the tree. In an effort to make the boy happy at each of these stages, the tree gives him parts of herself, which he can transform into material items, such as money (from her apples), a house (from her branches), and a boat (from her trunk). With every stage of giving, "the Tree was happy".

However, this latter track also received newly overdubbed drums. "Lady Friend" had only ever been released in mono and both Hyde and Dickson wanted to take the opportunity to issue the song in stereo for the first time on Never Before. However, Michael Clarke's drumming on the track was not deemed strong enough to stand being exposed by the new stereo mix and so, an unnamed session drummer was brought in to give the track a more powerful drum sound. This newly overdubbed drum part proved to be controversial among fans of the band, however, with many feeling that the addition of modern sounding drums (by 1980's standards) was completely inappropriate and incongruous to the mid-60s recording.

Before relocating to Southern California in 2003, Howes began recording his CD Lady Friend in Hoschton, GA, releasing it in 2004. The title track was written by David Crosby and originally recorded by The Byrds in 1967; the CD's cover art featured a Honda Super Cub motorcycle. While in California, Howes performed as a member of San Diego garage-pop band The Shambles and occasionally with Pat DiNizio of The Smithereens, while continuing to play solo and band shows of his own material. Howes also collaborated on a side project, Hautewerk, who recorded and released the disc Stop Start Again, and, in April 2009, licensed three songs to the Rockband video game.

Doc, voiced by Kris Kristofferson (VI) and Jeff Bennett (TV series), is a nomadic elderly dinosaur. In his first appearance, he saves Littlefoot shortly after arriving in the Great Valley, and Littlefoot idolizes him thereafter as the legendary "Lone Dinosaur", who purportedly saved the Great Valley from a particularly powerful Sharptooth long before; Doc's own statements about having visited the Great Valley before, as well as a large scar on his face resembling one of the legend, support Littlefoot's ideas. At the end of the film, after Doc and Grandpa Longneck defeat two marauding dinosaurs together, Doc leaves the Valley. He appears again in the TV episode "The Lone Dinosaur Returns," in which he now has a lady-friend.

After the release of their debut album CSN won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist of 1969. Neil Young joined the group for live appearances, their second concert being Woodstock, before recording their second album Déjà Vu. Meant to be a group that could collaborate freely, Crosby and Nash recorded three gold albums in the 1970s, while the core trio of CSN remained active from 1976 until 2016. CSNY reunions took place in each decade from the 1970s through the 2000s. Songs Crosby wrote or co-wrote include "Lady Friend", "Why", and "Eight Miles High" with the Byrds and "Guinnevere", "Wooden Ships", "Shadow Captain", and "In My Dreams" with Crosby, Stills & Nash.

When hot charcoal was piled on the bowl, the rats would "gnaw into the very bowels of the victim" in an attempt to escape the heat. Rat torture appears in the famous case study of a patient of Sigmund Freud. The Rat Man obsessed that his father and lady friend would be subjected to this torture. Younger Than Yesterday also features the jazz-tinged Crosby ballad "Everybody's Been Burned", which critic Thomas Ward has described as "one of the most haunting songs in the Byrds' catalogue, and one of David Crosby's finest compositions." By mid-1967, McGuinn had changed his first name from Jim to Roger as a result of his interest in the Indonesian religion Subud, into which he had been initiated in January 1965. The adoption of a new name was common among followers of the religion and served to signify a spiritual rebirth for the participant. Shortly after McGuinn's name change, the band entered the studio to record the Crosby- penned, non-album single "Lady Friend", which was released on July 13, 1967.

The etymology of bayan can be traced back to the word "bahayan", meaning a "community", or literally "a place with many households." The majority of these early "bayan" were economically complex communities situated river deltas where rivers exit out into the ocean, and featured a compact community layout which distinguished them from inland communities, thus the name. Grace Odal-Devora traces the etymology of the term "Bayan" to the word "bahayan," meaning a "community", or literally "a place with many households (bahay)." She notes that its root word, "Ba-y" or "Ba-i", is linguistically related to other Philippine words for shoreline and perimeter (both "baybay"), woman ("babai" or the Visayan term "ba-i" meaning great lady), friend (the Visayan term "bay"), and writing (baybayin).

Although Clark helped to co-write the song, he had left the Byrds by the time it was recorded and therefore does not appear on the track. "Old John Robertson", which had already been issued some six months earlier as the B-side of the "Lady Friend" single, was another country-tinged song that looked forward to the band's future country rock experimentation. The song was inspired by a retired film director who lived in the small town near San Diego where Hillman grew up. John S. Robertson was something of an eccentric figure around the town, regularly wearing a Stetson hat and sporting a white handlebar moustache, which gave him the appearance of a character out of the old American West.

Three Psychedelic Filberts tracks were released – a cover of The Byrds' "Lady Friend" on the Obscure Independent Classics Volume 2 album; a cover of The Beatles' "Rain" which was included on Yeah Yeah Noh's final release, the Temple of Convenience EP; and "Atlantis 1968", which appeared on the He Didn't Even Draw A Fish on My Shower Curtain compilation album. Beavan was at the same school with Butler and shared the same passion for West Coast music and then joining up with Butler and Smith in The Filberts. Rick Willson was a young guitar player and had his own studio in Barkby Road where the band started a long period of writing and recording. During this time they amassed a large number of songs, honing their skills and trying to get record label attention.

In 2016, the Plano Star Courier published a story about an article in the October 2016 issue of Southwestern Historical Quarterly (a scholarly journal published by the Texas State Historical Association) profiling Sam Rayburn's "lady friend" who was a woman named Margaret Fallon (Peggy) Palmer, the widow of former U.S. Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer, and her close relationship with Rayburn. In 1956, Rayburn was baptized by Elder H. G. Ball in the Primitive Baptist Church, also known as Old Line Baptist or Hard Shell Baptist Church. One of his greatest, most painful regrets was that he did not have a son, or as he was quoted as saying in The Path to Power, Robert Caro's biography of Lyndon B. Johnson, "a towheaded boy to take fishing".The Path to Power, p. 333.

Carlos Alberto's parents ignore the situation even though Adriana surprised even the nerves and mood swings from Carlos Alberto, he and Victor would ask for a loan then Inés Cuervo (Maria Margarita Giraldo), a lady friend of Victor's father to believe that the 4 million had disappeared. Despite the bribe given to "The Senate" and his assistant, they are killed by 'The Janquiz' (Carlos Arango), a private detective working for Acero and Milton (head of security "Concorde") and then the detective threatens to kill Adriana and kills Mrs. Inés lender saw Carlos Alberto was hiding the whereabouts of Susan de Acero. Not withstanding the situation, Carlos Alberto makes Victor hides Adriana and in turn would tell the truth to Acero claims it would not have called him, the police or an ambulance.

The film begins with the first of many musical numbers that showcases the three men and their desire to gain monetary appreciation and security. After being continuously denied for pitches, Al receives a letter from Paris, which he assumes is another debt collector, but is actually a letter from his aunt's attorney written in French giving him the great news that he is actually a part owner in a dress salon located in Paris, France. The three men and their "lady- friend" Bubbles, the person who funds their lengthy trip, then eagerly set on a journey to Paris in hopes of profiting from the sale of Al's share in the shop. To their dismay, the men are met with a bankrupt shop, that is in no shape to have shares sold.

After an unfortunate series of events puts the Grand in financial jeopardy, John's younger brother, Marcus (Mark McGann), a very intelligent but seemingly heartless businessman with shady connections to the underworld, offers to save the day by becoming a partner in the hotel—but are his motivations genuine, or does he have an ulterior motive? Also featured are John's stuffy mother, Mary, and Marcus' "lady friend," the beautiful Ruth Manning (Amanda Mealing in the first series, Victoria Scarborough in the second) who appears to be every bit Marcus' equal when it comes to cold- hearted calculation. Jacob Collins (Tim Healy) is the all-seeing hall porter, seemingly in total control, yet plagued by demons of his own. Mrs Harvey (Christine Mackie) is the housekeeper who rules over the chambermaids with the iron hand of a prison guard.

Randall is offered by a dodgy Irish friend to take part in a money salvaging operation whereby £500,000 of old money is to be burnt, but is replaced with newspaper pieces. Neither informing the police nor accepting any part in the crime, Randall watches from a nearby street and is caught by the police and held in custody. His lady friend lawyer tracks down his dodgy friend at his London club finding the real culprits are his lady dancers, who attempt to fly to France in escape. However, leaving it to the ghost Marty, who is able to manipulate their navigational equipment and get them to return to an airfield in Surrey, they are captured, freeing Randall. Back at the police station Marty informs Jeff that Elizabeth is driving O’Malley home, to which Jeff realising what she is like, tells Marty what she is about to do. The episode ends showing Elizabeth’s car in a field, where inside Elizabeth and O’Malley are kissing, about to have sex.

His reputation within the band deteriorated even more following the commercial failure of "Lady Friend", the first Byrds' single to feature a song penned solely by Crosby on its A-side. Tensions within the band finally erupted in August 1967, during recording sessions for The Notorious Byrd Brothers album, when Michael Clarke quit the group over disputes with his bandmates and his dissatisfaction with the material that the songwriting members of the band were providing. Session drummers Jim Gordon and Hal Blaine were brought in to replace Clarke temporarily in the studio, although he continued to honor his live concert commitments with the group. Then, in September, Crosby refused to participate in the recording of the Goffin–King song "Goin' Back", considering it to be inferior to his own "Triad", a controversial song about a ménage à trois that was in direct competition with "Goin' Back" for a place on the album.

In particular, Crosby was adamant that the band should record only original material despite the recent commercial failure of "Lady Friend", a Crosby-penned single that stalled at No. 82 on the American charts following its release in July. McGuinn and Hillman dismissed Crosby in October after he refused to countenance the recording of a cover of Goffin and King's "Goin' Back". While Crosby contributed to three compositions and five recordings on the final album, his controversial menage-a-trois ode "Triad" was omitted; Jefferson Airplane released a Grace Slick-sung cover on Crown of Creation (1968); three years later, Crosby released a solo acoustic version on Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's double live album 4 Way Street (1971); the Byrds' version appeared decades later on the 1988 Never Before release and later on the CD re-release of The Notorious Byrd Brothers. In 1973, Crosby reunited with the original Byrds for the album Byrds, with Crosby acting as the album's producer.
