At that time, Max uses Nina as a human shield for escape, but someone repeatedly knocks unconscious and kills him using a spade. Carminha swears about the murder of Max and is sentenced three years. The later series shows Carminha returning from jail and reconciling to Nina.

Tony uncovers that the Spymaster was the one who sold Tony's designs to his rival Justin Hammer. Iron Man goes after the Stilt-Man, who is attempting to break into a high-rise office building. Stilt-Man is easily defeated when Iron Man chops off one of his legs, and he renders the armor inoperable with a "negator pack" which destroys Stark circuitry within. A short time later, Iron Man battles the Controller whom he knocks unconscious in front of a crowd and negates his armor.

While showering, Jamie starts to cry, until her shower is unexpectedly shut off, making call for Hadley to repair her water heater. With her back turned, Hadley knocks unconscious and takes her back to his home, which now fortified with a security system and deadly booby traps. Rick and Mike, a father/son burglary duo, try to break into Hadley's home, after hearing about his life insurance policy that he has. Rick breaks in and communicates withe Mike on a radio that he can't get out.

Nick is attacked by a zombie driver, Al (Timothy Whitcomb), whom he knocks unconscious. He and Hank (Russell Hornsby) take Al to the spice shop, where Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) state that to cure him, they have to stimulate the central nervous system through the use of a substance. Eric meets with Renard to discuss his mother and asks Renard to come with him to Europe. While inspecting a car that was left in the road, Nick senses something and notices containers at the port.

During a friendly soccer match between the two, Rui Xi gets knocks unconscious and so Quan aids by taking her to the school's doctor, Mei Tian. Mei Tian, being gay, detects that Rui Xi is a girl. As Quan grabs Rui Xi to carry her to the sick bay, he also discovers that she is in fact a girl. He keeps her identity a secret from everyone, including Rui Xi. Unbeknown to Rui Xi, before her arrival Quan had given up high jumping after a road accident whilst trying to save his high school friend from being run over.

Later, Peter investigates the lab of his science teacher, Dr. Curt Connors, who was reported missing, and discovers he was experimenting on himself with a lizard DNA serum in the hopes of regrowing his right arm, only to transform into the ferocious Lizard. After the Lizard attacks him, Spider-Man pursues him into the sewers, discovering that numerous other people have also been transformed into lizard, and the villain's plot to release these lizards into the city. While Spider-Man defeats the Lizard and thwarts his schemes, he escapes further into the sewers. Upon returning to the city, Peter is attack by the New Goblin, whom he defeats and knocks unconscious before taking him to the hospital to recover.

In 2005, Avatar Press began to release Texas Chainsaw Massacre comics, set in the continuity of the 2003 remake of the original film, but serving as prequels to the film. The comics had a multitude of variant covers, such as "Gore", "Terror" and "Die Cut". The final release by Avatar Press, the one-shot The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Fearbook, had text written by Antony Johnston with art by Daniel HDR and Mauricio Dias. The premise of this one-shot involves a quartet of friends in the midst of a cross-country trip who run afoul of Sheriff Hoyt, who forcibly takes them to the Hewitt house, where Leatherface kills them all except one, a girl named Lucy, whom he knocks unconscious; Leatherface, when Lucy awakens, puts on a mask created from her boyfriend's face and hammers one of his own masks onto her before forcing her to dance with him as she succumbs to her injuries.
