Ikumi had run a project researching self-driving car technology years ago, but Ikumi's father, as chairman, refused her proposal at the time. Kokone has a final dream of Ancien and Peach's adventures, but unlike earlier dreams, Kokone appears as a separate bystander rather than as Ancien. Ancien seeks to empower one of the giant robots with her magic tablet over the objections of the captain.
Originally the school educated only up to age 16, Fifth Form, and to go to Oxbridge a pupil had to transfer to the main King Edward's School, at the time in New Street. However, MacCarthy's successor, Mr Barker, introduced a Sixth Form. During the Second World War, the Headmaster at the time, Mr Dobinson, decided to evacuate the school to Monmouth, and the boys attended Monmouth School, the two staffs sharing the teaching. This meant that all the staff and pupils were lodged in the town, and could only keep in contact with family via correspondence; Mr Dobinson was able occasionally to visit Birmingham.

Three scientists on board the transcontinental flight have been summoned to a classified meeting at the Pentagon, concerning the "beta bomb", a new bomb design and the rocket to deliver it. Mid-flight, the Douglas DC-6 airliner mysteriously begins to climb, to over 10 miles high. Back at the airline headquarters, Operations Manager Hank Norton (John Bryant) tries to keep in contact with the flight, but is sure that nothing can be done to save the passengers and crew. The engines stop, and passengers pass out due to lack of oxygen.

Climate change models predict changes to the sea ice leading to loss of the sea ice habitat, elevations of water and air temperature, and increased occurrence of severe weather. The loss of sea ice habitat will reduced the abundance of seal prey for marine mammals, particularly polar bears. Initially, polar bears may be favored by an increase in leads in the ice that make more suitable seal habitat available but, as the ice thins further, they will have to travel more, using energy to keep in contact with favored habitat.
Watashitachi no Tamura-kun's main story revolves around the title character Yukisada Tamura, who is in his third year of junior-high school when the story begins. Before she is locked in with Tomizawa, Fuyuko and the rest of the hostages in the fifth floor lobby, Yuriko runs off with Gotō running after her. At the police station, Niimi and chief detective Genji Morozumi (Yukiya Kitamura) keep in contact with a hiding Tanada.

The Australian stockwhip is said to have originated from the English hunting whip, but has evolved into an entirely new type of whip. It was designed to move mobs of cattle by making it crack, which would encourage the mob to keep moving. It is not usually used for sheep. Throughout Australia stockmen and drovers have used the stockwhip since the early 19th century and it is still the preferred whip used by Australian cattlemen and women today. It is not known whether Mr Beames was able to make the mounting or not.

Throughout "Fugitives," Micah, using the name "Rebel," has used his powers to keep in contact with several other posthumans in danger of elimination, including (but not limited to) assigning Claire Bennet to help other endangered posthumans start over, as well as hacking a government computer to send Peter Petrelli a video feed of the anti-posthuman operation to use as leverage. In 1952 the Lonsdale's worked as a support act for Laurel & Hardy during their 9-month-long tour of the United Kingdom through 28 towns and cities, performing an average of 14 shows a week. As well as always opening the show with their “Rhythm” dance routine and performing after the shows interval the Lonsdale's would also work as the Great Cingalee's assistants in his magic act. As well as the Lonsdale Sisters there were 7 other acts on the programme with the final act being a comedy sketch performed by Laurel & Hardy entitled “A Spot of Trouble” During the long tour Laurel & Hardy developed a close friendship with the Lonsdale Sisters. When the tour came to an end Laurel & Hardy returned to America but would keep in contact with the girls often sending them hand written letters & signed photos with personal messages to Pauline, Florence & their families.
