In the late 19th-century the Ket-Kas Canal connected the Ket with the Greater Kas River which flows into the Yenisei. This project made the Ket a part of a waterway system connecting the Ob River basin with the Yenisei. But the canal - shallow, long, inconveniently located, and frozen for the greater part of the year - proved uncompetitive with the Trans- Siberian Railway, and was abandoned around 1921. The name of Menkauhor is a departure from those of other kings of the Fifth Dynasty. Menkauhor, whose name means "Eternal are the Kas of Horus", is the first pharaoh in 80 years whose name does not refer to the sun god Ra. The name of Menkauhor instead finds its peers among the princes of the Fifth Dynasty with, for example, prince Khentykauhor "The forces of Horus are at the fore", a son of Nyuserre Ini, and prince Neserkauhor, a son of Djedkare Isesi.

Kas (born 27 November 1966, Uithoorn) is associate professor in the Department of Translational Neuroscience, Brain Center Rudolf Magnus, at the University Medical Center Utrecht, where he leads a work group entitled "Translational Behavioral Genetics" that researches cross-species behavioral genetics to better understand origins and develop treatments for psychiatric disorders. He is president of the Dutch Behavioural Genetics Association, board member and treasurer of the Dutch Neuroscience meeting and the Dutch Neurofederation, and executive committee member of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology.

Arturas Barysas Artūras Barysas "Baras" (May 10, 1954 – January 28, 2005) was a Lithuanian "counter-culture" actor, singer, photographer, and filmmaker, known as the father of modern Lithuanian avant-garde. His works were declared "apolitical and immoral" by the cultural nomenklatura of the Soviet Union. He was a vocalist of an avant-garde band I.V.T.K.Y.G.Y.G. When Geb is represented as his father, Nehebkau's mother is considered to be the harvest goddess Renenutet: the ‘good snake’ who ensured bountiful fields, harvests and kitchens for the living and nourished the kas of the dead. Willemstad, 1885 Many Dutch colonists grew affluent from the slave trade, building impressive colonial buildings in the capital of Willemstad; the city is now designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Landhouses (former plantation estates) and West African style kas di pal'i maishi (former slave dwellings) are scattered all over the island. In 1795, a major slave revolt took place under the leaders Tula Rigaud, Louis Mercier, Bastian Karpata, and Pedro Wakao. Up to 4,000 slaves on the northwest section of the island revolted, with more than 1,000 slaves taking part in extended gunfights.

Kas Vidruk was a Grey Cup champion Canadian Football League player. He played on both offense and defence as a centre, guard, tackle and linebacker. When only 17 years old, and just out of high school, Vidruk signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1942 for $50 (making him perhaps the youngest player and first Lithuanian in the history of the CFL.) The Bombers suspended operation in 1943 (becoming the Winnipeg RCAF Bombers) and Vidruk enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy. Upon his return in 1945 he rejoined the Bombers.

Rusokastro Rock (, ‘Skala Rusokastro’ ska-'la ru-so-'kas-tro) is a twin rock at the north entrance to McFarlane Strait in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica extending in northwest–southeast direction and wide, with its two parts separated by a wide passage. It is situated northeast of Pyramid Island, northeast of Williams Point on Livingston Island, and northwest of Duff Point on Greenwich Island. The area was visited by early 19th century sealers. The rock is named after the settlement and medieval fortress of Rusokastro in southeastern Bulgaria.

Kas Oosterhuis studied architecture at Delft University of Technology from 1970 to 1979. His final studio project, the "Strook Door Nederland" under the mentorship of Rem Koolhaas was a proposal for a radical urban scheme concentrating all future building activities in the large 5 km wide and 200 km long strip, leaving the rest of holland to develop into a jungle. His first commission was to design a 1:20 scale villa with LEGO bricks. In 1991 he completed his first housing project the Patiowoningen at the Dedemsvaartweg, and urban design scheme by OMA.

He moved to Montreal in 1948, playing for the Montreal Alouettes and beginning studies at McGill University that would lead to his Physical Education degree. Kas Oosterhuis (1951) is a Dutch architect, professor and co-founder of the innovation studio ONL together with visual artist Ilona Lénárd. He was a professor at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) from 2000 to 2016 and has been a professor at Qatar University since 2017. His office, ONL, has realized a number of innovative, contemporary architecture projects including the Salt Water Pavilion at Neeltje Jans, the Web of North Holland at the 2002 World Expo in Haarlemmermeer, the A2 Cockpit in the Sounder Barrier at Leidsche Rijn, Utrecht and the Liwa Tower in Abu Dhabi.

I. pinfoldi was initially known only from teeth, which were found in the Eocene locality Ganda Kas, Pakistan. Upon their discovery, I. pinfoldi was placed within the Family Mesonychidae, a group of terrestrial mammals from which cetaceans were previously thought to have evolved. Due to morphological distinctions from other mesonychids, I. pinfoldi was later acknowledged and described as an archaeocete, making it the first Pakicetid to be described. Cranial and postcranial material of I. pinfoldi have also been found in the Kuldana Formation, Pakistan, from the early-middle Eocene, and from the Subathu sediments of Jammu and Kashmir, India.

The interactive Son-O-House in Son en Breugel, the NetherlandsEdwin van der Heide collaborated extensively with architects. Together with Victor Wentink, he conceived a generative and interactive sound environment for both the freshwater part by NOX (Lars Spuybroek) and the saltwater part by ONL (Kas Oosterhuis) of the Water Pavilion (1997), part of the Deltapark at the artificial island Neeltje_Jans. The approach was not to have a building with separate content inside but to create a true integration of architecture, sound and light. Zipline's core team, Nathan Mackintosh and Rhys Waters, were previously students on Peter's Documentary Film and Television Degree course, who were still working locally and in the process of setting up their own company. Mackintosh and Waters based themselves in a small unit near Tredegar where they built a large green screen with enough space for a car to be wheeled in front. While studying at the Deree College in Athens, Greece Nikolija started performing in local nightclubs as a dancer and MC. In 2011, she released an EDM-oriented song, titled "Crazy 2 night", featuring DJ Kas, but without any significant success. After graduating from college, she returned to Serbia with an intention to release another song, but without planning to pursue an actual music career there. This four-line poem was created by Bronius Kazys Balutis (1879–1967) and became the motto of Bell of Freedom, a newspaper published by one of the partisan groups.

The Tokuz-Oguz tribes were in a privileged position not only in respect to the tribal union, but also vis-a- vis the Basmyls and Karluks, who in battles were always "sent in front", because they were less valued and protected. In Dzungaria, the Basmyls lived next to the Karluks and Bayïrku, who were apparently one of the numerous tribes which in 747 battled against the Uyghurs on the side of the Basmyls. Another neighbor east of the Türgeshes were the Ograk, one of the aborigional tribes of Dzungaria, still known in the 1st century BCE as Uge. A community of Yduk-kas ("Holy People"), a reference to a Christian community, are mentioned as the Uch-Yduk ("Three Yduks") in the Orkhon inscriptions also resided within Basmyl territory.

In 1998 he became the official composer of Spanish designer Jesús del Pozo's fashion shows, and in 1999 he published the EP Música para el Desfile de la Colección de Otoño-Invierno 1999–2000 de Jesús del Pozo. By that time he had already collaborated with his music for Volkswagen Polo and Bitter Kas ads. In January 2000 his second album Luna de Miel was issued: an interesting work where 10 female voices give some warmth to the compositions. Kelly was enagaged in an intense racing schedule, even by contemporary standards, having competed 34 times from the beginning of the season to 1986. He later explained this as partly due to the influence of Jean de Gribaldy, who reasoned that he might as well race if he was going to have to train on his bike if he didn't compete, and because of new sponsor Kas, a Spanish soft drink manufacturer, who were primarily concerned with success in Spain, and uninterested in winning the classics, meaning Kelly had to compete in both types of races. He finished on a podium in a grand tour for the first time when he finished third in the 1986 Vuelta a España, winning two stages along the way. Kelly missed the 1986 Tour de France due to a serious crash in the last stage of Tour de Suisse.

The Laghman massacre was a war crime perpetrated by the Red Army in April 1985 in the villages of Kas-Aziz-Khan, Charbagh, Bala Bagh, Sabzabad, Mamdrawer, Haider Khan and Pul-i-Joghi in the Laghman Province, during the Soviet-Afghan War. Between 500 and 1,000 civilians were murdered in was what described as Soviet reprisals against civilians for anti-communist resistance members and their military actions aimed against the Red Army. The Soviet troops arrived with 200 tanks and armored personnel carriers on 11 March 1985 in the said villages in search for the Mujahideen, rejecting an offer from the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan to send their own troops to reduce the number of fatalities. According to the reports from Laghman, children were disfigured by the soldiers, while a hung baby was stabbed by a bayonet on a tree, and later its parents were killed.

Gargish is the language of the gargoyles of Britannia and the language used in spellcasting within the game. Unlike the runic script, which is usually used simply as a visual cipher for English, the Gargish script encodes a genuine constructed language, based on (but expanding greatly upon) the magical words of power that first saw use in Ultima V, as well as the mantras for each of the Shrines of Virtue, which had remained consistent since Ultima IV. The lexicon mostly comprises deformed or truncated Latinate stems (flam "fire" ← Latin flamma; lap "stone" ← Latin lapis; leg "to read" ← Latin legō), but other origins are also apparent (uis "wisdom" ← English wise; kas "helmet" ← French casque).

IVSI cockpit display (monochrome) EHSI cockpit display (color) A traffic collision avoidance system or traffic alert and collision avoidance system (both abbreviated as TCAS, and pronounced ; TEE-kas) is an aircraft collision avoidance system designed to reduce the incidence of mid-air collisions between aircraft. It monitors the airspace around an aircraft for other aircraft equipped with a corresponding active transponder, independent of air traffic control, and warns pilots of the presence of other transponder- equipped aircraft which may present a threat of mid-air collision (MAC). It is a type of airborne collision avoidance system mandated by the International Civil Aviation Organization to be fitted to all aircraft with a maximum take- off mass (MTOM) of over or authorized to carry more than 19 passengers. CFR 14, Ch I, part 135 requires that TCAS I be installed for aircraft with 10-30 passengers and TCAS II for aircraft with more than 30 passengers.

Kolmodin was born on 17 January 1896 in Bromma Parish, Stockholm, Sweden, the son of Professor Adolf Kolmodin (1855–1928) and his wife Nelly (née von Post) (1858–1944). He was the brother of Colonel Gustaf Kolmodin (1893–1975) and Diplomat Johannes Kolmodin (1884–1933). Kolmodin passed studentexamen in Uppsala in 1914 and was commissioned as an officer in the Swedish Coastal Artillery in 1916 with the rank of fänrik. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1918. Kolmodin attended the general course of the Royal Swedish Naval Staff College from 1921 to 1922 and the senior course of the Artillery and Engineering College from 1922 to 1924. He served as an Adjutant in the staff of the commanding officer of the Swedish Coastal Artillery from 1925 to 1928 and as a mathematics, physics and artillery teacher at the Royal Swedish Naval Staff College and the Swedish Coast Artillery School (Kustartilleriets skjutskola, KAS) from 1927 to 1937.

In April 1996 a boxed double compilation CD - Vague - Now & Then - was released, its accompanying booklet detailing the history of the club. The night ended after Vague celebrated its third birthday at the Warehouse on 14 September 1996. The organizers then went on to pursue other careers in creative industries, Nick Raphael left to become label manager at FFRR Records and is now president of Capitol Records UK, Paul Fryer moved to London and worked for Fendi as Musical director from 2000 to 2005, he has since carved out a highly successful career as an artist with his work collected by Damien Hirst and Karl Lagerfeld, Suzy Mason partnering Kas Shaw continued in Club Promotion with a similar styled mixed night - called "I-Spy" held at Club NATO in Leeds city centre, the pair then transferred back to the Warehouse on 12 April 1997, soon afterwards it was renamed "Speed Queen," which ran for eleven years before closing in 2008. Speed Queen at the Warehouse was one of three clubs featured in a November 1997 BBC local documentary about Leeds nightlife.

The J class were primarily designed to provide a mixed traffic locomotive more powerful than the AB class that was capable of running on the lighter secondary lines of the New Zealand Railways network, but was equally capable of running express passenger trains on main routes which were being operated by the larger K Class locomotives and the in-production KA class and KB classes. As the NZR workshops were already busy with the production of the KAs and KBs, the North British Locomotive Company were engaged to build the class of 40 locomotives. The J class incorporated a number of similar features with the contemporaneous KA and KB classes, such as roller bearing axles, hydrostatic lubrication and twin Westinghouse brake pumps; however they used bar frames instead of plate frames, and were equipped with Baker Valve-gear instead of Walschaerts. They also featured a Vanderbilt tender, and were outshopped with distinctive bullet-nosed streamlining which bears similarity to the Norfolk and Western Railway class J (1941) and the later NSWGR 38 class.

Bangalore-based Indian company Navika Electronics has designed GNSS/GPS SoC (System on Chip) chipsets based on ARM core processors under its own brandname for portable applications like receiving/down conversion and amplification of GPS and Galileo signals. The Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE), IISc, Bengaluru, in collaboration with KAS Tech, a Bengaluru-based electronics manufacturing company, has developed 'Ocean', a highly integrated and portable chemical vapour depositor that can commercially produce various two dimensional materials including graphene, in an easy 'plug and grow' approach which can have various novel applications in the ESDM sector, for both academia and industry alike. Concepción notes that because confronting internalized oppression often creates a paradox for people having to see themselves as both a victim and perpetrator of that oppression, a major factor in addressing internalized oppression is being able to confront false narratives while at the same time employing self-forgiveness. Marc Weinblatt and Cheryl Harrison emphasize that one must acknowledge that race is a social category with real implications while at the same time reject the falsehoods behind racist attitudes. Because finding this balance can be difficult, it is often helpful to have separate spaces for those who experience internalized oppression and those who experience internalized privilege.

The TR4 had a number of racing successes in America, primarily through the efforts of the Californian engineer Kas Kastner and his top driver, Bob Tullius. In 1961 the TR4 won first in class and thirtieth overall at Sebring. That car was driven by George Waltman and Nick Cone. The serial number of that TR4 is CT 7L. In 1962 the TR4 won the E production national championship, following which the SCCA reclassified the car to D production, and Tullius won that class title in 1963 and '64. Soon after the TR4 was introduced, Kastner along with Mike Cook, who was in the advertising department at Triumph in New York City, convinced the company to provide three new TR4s to race in the 12 Hours of Sebring race in 1963. Beginning in September 1962 the cars were prepared in California, where Kastner was service supervisor for Triumph. The cars were then flown to Florida for the endurance race in March 1963. These cars were driven by Mike Rothschild and Peter Bolton from England, Bob Tullius, Charlie Gates, Ed Deihl, Bob Cole, Bruce Kellner and Jim Spencer and finished overall 22nd, 24th, and 35th of 65 entries, and first, second and fourth in the 2.5 GT class.
