Swift is then seen walking to the lobby accompanied with several thunderclouds, one of which is in the form of a snake that tries to swallow her up but turns to dust upon doing so. The video cuts to a scene where a suit-clad Swift dances with her backup dancers, who are holding office bags. Urie looks out onto the street from the apartment and jumps down the balcony on an umbrella Mary Poppins-style wearing a floral print suit. He lands on the roof of a building with a unicorn-shaped eave, where Swift is seen sitting at the edge with a pink dress that turns to a waterfall.

As part of the Orc party that infiltrates Lake- Town, Fimbul relays back to Bolg that Thorin himself has left and gone to the Lonely Mountain with most of the company from inside a small wooden boat, when another orc jumps down into the boat's opposite end from the balcony above; this launches Fimbul into the air, where his head is removed by the longknives of Legolas. Grinnah (portrayed by Stephen Ure) is the goblin who introduces the Dwarves to the Great Goblin and is ordered to search through their possessions. He is stabbed through the chest by Kili as the dwarves and Gandalf make their escape. Narzug (portrayed by Ben Mitchell) is one of Azog's Hunter Orcs.

Qu Xiaofeng (Peng Xiaoran), the beloved princess of the Western Liang Kingdom, is promised to the Crown Prince of Li Dynasty in a political marriage between the two countries. Under the deliberate arrangement by Gu Jian (Shawn Wei), fifth prince Li Chengyin (Chen Xingxu) disguises himself as an ordinary tea merchant by the name Gu Xiaowu, and meets Qu Xiaofeng. They fell in love with each other as Li Chengyin tried to gain her trust to infiltrate Dan Chi, the kingdom ruled by Xiaofeng's grandfather, in order to gain war merits to become the new Crown Prince. After discovering the truth behind Li Chengyin's intentions, she jumps down the River of Forgetfulness to forget the painful memories.

Purdy, the last of Williams' men, jumps down from the hole in the roof and makes it to the top of the dark stairway just as Williams finally gets the door open and immediately shoots the figure in the dark, killing Purdy. As the dead man falls down the stairway, Larsen/Kincaid retrieves the man's gun and uses it to kill Williams. When Mark and others finally arrive at the scene, one of the men looks at the wounded and unconscious Larsen/Kincaid, then at the wanted poster he is holding, and says, "Thats him, all right." Mark then says, "Well maybe, maybe not", and says as they carefully take him to a doctor that he will testify for him at the trial.

Special effects show some parts where the people have skulls for faces. At the end of the video, when the last person jumps down the cavern, the camera zooms out from the band, showing that the hole the people were jumping into was actually the eye of the bands recognizable logo from the Avenged Sevenfold album cover, the "Deathbat". The band stated in an interview with Fuse host Steven Smith on Steven's Untitled Rock Show that the inspiration for the video came from a Wendy's commercial they saw in Asia in which a large crowd is running toward the same hamburger. M. Shadows then said "wouldn't it be cool if we (Avenged Sevenfold) were playing in a fiery blaze and a bunch of people were running towards us," an idea that would eventually become the video.

The film features Bosko working on a construction site with a goat and several small mice (all of which bear a strong resemblance to Mickey Mouse; Harman and Ising had worked with Walt Disney for several years before joining Warner Bros.). After several minutes of relatively uneventful working (marked mainly by a song and dance sequence in which one of the mice is temporarily decapitated), Bosko spots his girlfriend, Honey, working in a nearby office building. After some brief flirtation, Bosko jumps down into Honey's office, pulls out a piece of sheet music, places it in Honey's typewriter, and begins playing the typewriter like a piano (Bosko types the words "Don't Hold Everything" before launching into the song). Meanwhile, back at the construction site, the goat eats a steam-powered machine and begins to float upward.

A scene in which Craig's character rides a horse alongside a ravine and jumps down it onto a spacecraft emulated many scenes in American Western films where cowboys rode along a moving train and jumped on it. Favreau said the scene referenced the one in the film Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) where Indiana Jones chases a truck and noted that a similar scene existed in the film Stagecoach (1939), saying "We're constantly referencing back to our roots." Cowboys & Aliens also make multiple references to Close Encounters of the Third Kind, such as the introduction to the aliens through the bright lights on their aircraftFavreau, 0:28:30-0:29:30 and an upturned paddle steamer in the middle of the desert.Favreau, 0:44:00 The film also "tease[s]" monster movies, and the scenes in the paddle steamer were a deliberate homage to Alien.
