Joplin stated being deeply inspired by these intimate events. In 2007, Jaywalker and music journalist Thomas 'thomaxe' Goze organized a Euro Tour for ex-Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers guitarist Walter Lure. The line up for the tour consisted of Walter Lure (lead guitar and vocals), Dee Jaywalker (lead guitar and vocals), Paolo Serlino (drums), Rine Reginna (bass and backing vocals), and Annette Gucci (guitar and backing vocals). The last show of the tour was recorded and released as a live album in 2008.

The Way I See It is a 2020 American documentary film directed and produced by Dawn Porter, revolving around Pete Souza, the former Chief Official White House Photographer. Laura Dern serves as producer under her Jaywalker Pictures banner. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2020. It was released in a limited release on September 18, 2020 by Focus Features, followed by broadcast on MSNBC on October 16, 2020.

The band did three European tours, and released a live album, Alive, on Rawk- A-Hula Records in 2002. The band released the album Legends Bleed in 2002 on Thirsty Ear Records and did a world tour from 2002 to January 2003. Five 7-inches came out from 2002 to the end of 2003, including a split single with Texas Terri. The common practice of car-centric traffic-signal synchronisation produces green waves for motorists but not necessarily for pedestrians, who may encounter little or no conflicting traffic at cross streets where signals instruct them to wait. Pedestrians may dislike using crossing at intersections for other reasons, such as discomfort dealing with traffic from several directions (whereas a jaywalker at a location distant from an intersection only needs to observe two directions of traffic), or wanting to avoid the extra air emissions generated by vehicles stopping and starting (given that vehicular emissions are significantly less when vehicles are moving at steady speeds). In rural and suburban areas, people may jaywalk due to a lack of sidewalks.

Most sources indicate that the term "jay driver" came before "jaywalker" there being numerous article headlines from 1905 through the next decade that include the term "Jay Driver." Peter Norton's book Fighting Traffic on 78 indicates that in 1922 use of the term "jay driver" was an attempt by George A. Davies to use the known meaning of "jay walker" and apply it to drivers of vehicles. However, an opinion piece attributed to "A MAN BOOSTER" from the January 17, 1907 Salt Lake Telegram titled "Oh yes, there's the 'Jay Driver'" describes in it both jay walkers and jay drivers. However, another article from November 11, 1919 in The Pittsburgh Gazette Times cites from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer the text: "There are so many jay walkers and so many jay drivers that it hardly behooves any driver to talk about jay walkers, or any walker to mention jay drivers," clearly demonstrating that the term existed prior to that time.
