The man who parked the vehicle on the tracks, Juan Manuel Alvarez, was apprehended and charged with 11 counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances, including murder by train wrecking. Finally, left turn lanes would be constructed at NY 9L and CR 7 (Bay Road).
