A farmer's market is held each Monday by the West-End Food Co-op, selling local produce, meat, baked goods, soaps and services. The market is held outdoors except in winter, when it moves inside the field house. After Halloween, neighbourhood residents bring their jack-o-lanterns for display for the one night following Halloween in the annual "Pumpkin Parade". The pumpkins are placed around the paths of the park and number in the hundreds.

The event several times set world records for the largest simultaneous number of jack-o'-lanterns on display. The New Hampshire Pumpkin Festival (also known as the Keene Pumpkin Festival from 1991 to 2014, and the Laconia Pumpkin Festival in 2015; often referred to as Pumpkin Fest) is a pumpkin festival that is held in Laconia, New Hampshire, United States before Halloween. Each year, New Hampshire residents and citizens attempt to amass the largest number of lit jack-o'-lanterns in one place, trying to meet or beat the world record, which the city of Keene, New Hampshire—the festival's former venue—held for many years. The 2014 festival gained notoriety when parties held by Keene State College students in the area led to riots a relatively short distance away from the festival grounds. This resulted in the Keene City Council rejecting the festival's annual permit for the following year.

The 1891 Victorian home located at 748 Beech Street is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was once visited by President Grover Cleveland. In recent years it has become known as The Pumpkin House, because of the more than 3000 hand-carved Jack-o-Lanterns which owner Ric Griffith, the town's previous mayor and current pharmacist, adorn it with each Halloween season.
