Felix René Mederos Pazos (20 November 1933 - 24 September 1996) was a prominent Cuban poster artist and graphic designer. Mederos, a self-taught artist from Sagua la Grande, began work in a Havana printshop in 1944 and was appointed Chief Designer for Cuba's principal television station in 1959. In 1964, at the beginning of the new wave of Cuban graphic design, Mederos began creating his first posters as head of the design team of the propaganda organization Intercommunications. In 1969 Mederos was assigned by DOR (The Department of Revolutionary Orientation) to travel to Vietnam to paint scenes of the war.

Telephonics provides intelligence, surveillance, and communications solutions that are deployed across a wide range of land, sea, and air applications. The direct sequel to Wax or the Discovery of Television Among the Bees is called The Telepathic Motion Picture of THE LOST TRIBES, an experimental, mythopoetic fiction based on 25 years of research, production, and writing. This second major project is supported by awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, US/Japan Friendship Commission with Blair as a visiting artist in Tokyo in 1995, Japanese Ministry of Culture, Tokyo University with Blair as a special visiting artist in 1996-7, and New York State Council for the Arts. It has also been supported by commissions from NTT InterCommunications Center in Tokyo, Culture Capital Europe in Copenhagen, and Animate Projects in London.

On 25 January 1991, VQ-4 took delivery of its first E-6A Mercury aircraft and in November 1992, changed homeport to Tinker AFB, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. On 20 September 1999, VQ-4 took delivery of its first E-6B. The E-6B contains upgraded systems that enable it to perform the USSTRATCOM Airborne Command Post (ABNCP) “Looking Glass” mission. Upgrades include: a Battle staff module to provide enhanced command, control and communications for the Nation’s nuclear arsenal; the Airborne Launch Control System to permit airborne launch and control of ICBMs; UHF C3 Radio Subsystem; Digital Airborne Intercommunications Switching System; MILSTAR Airborne Terminal System (Satellite communications) and a High Power Transmit Set for enhanced communications.
