Henry Francis Lyte The Reverend Henry Francis Lyte. Anglican cleric and hymnwriter was born in Ednam. He wrote the hymns - Abide With Me and Praise My Soul the King of Heaven. Reverend John Burleigh, minister at Ednam wrote the book Ednam and its Indwellers The poet John G. Smith, of Ednam, published a long-form poem The Old Churchyard, apparently inspired by the inscriptions found there.

Burghs were centres of basic crafts, including the manufacture of shoes, clothes, dishes, pots, joinery, bread and ale, which would normally be sold to "indwellers" and "outdwellers" on market days. In general, burghs carried out far more local trading with their hinterlands, on which they relied for food and raw materials, than trading nationally or abroad.J. The brothers restored the Welsh monks of Llanbadarn, who had been displaced by monks from Gloucester brought there by the Normans who had controlled Ceredigion. By late September 1136 a vast Welsh host gathered in Ceredigion, which included the combined forces of Gwynedd, Deheubarth, and Powys; and met the Norman army at the Battle of Crug Mawr at Cardigan Castle. The battle turned into a rout, and then into a resounding defeat of the Normans.

In Daoist physiology, the human body contains many indwellers besides the Three Corpses. Nèishén 内神 "internal spirits/gods" and shēnshén 身神 "body spirits/gods" are Daoist terms for deities inhabiting various parts of the body, including the wǔzàng 五臟 "the five viscera: heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys", liùfǔ 六腑 "the six receptacles: gall bladder, stomach, large intestine, small intestine, triple burner, and bladder", and qīqiào 七竅 "the seven apertures in the human head: eyes, ears, nostrils, and mouth". These "body residents" (Huang 2011: 57) were either health threats or health protectors, and said to engage in constant struggles with one another. The upper, middle, and lower dantian energy- centers contained both the Three Corpses/Worms and the counterpart guardian gods called the sanyi 三一 "Three Ones" (Maspero 1981: 356).
