On March 30, 2010, three female employees launched a class action gender discrimination lawsuit against Bank of America and Merrill Lynch. The suit, which was filed by Judy Calibuso, a Miami financial adviser in Merrill Lynch, and Julie Moss and Dianne Goedtel, former financial advisers at Bank of America, inculpated the companies of providing the male counterparts of the suing employees with "bigger bonuses and better opportunities". Filed in the US District Court in Brooklyn, it further detailed that one of the female employees was verbally scolded when she confronted the officials. According to Reuters, "At the end of [January 2012], 270-year-old Wegelin said it had moved most of its employees, along with clients and assets of 21 billion Swiss francs, to Notenstein Privatbank," just a week prior to being inculpated, on 3 February 2012. It is not known what chemicals were being stored at the site. On 17 August, the deputy director of the public security bureau's fire department told CCTV: Ammonium nitrate, which is predominantly used as an agricultural fertilizer, oxidizing agent in explosive compositions, and in manufacturing of other chemicals, has been inculpated in a number of other fatal industrial explosions. A fire department spokesman confirmed that firefighters had used water in combating the initial fire, which may have led to water being sprayed on calcium carbide, releasing the highly flammable gas acetylene.

A single auto de fe was brought in 1695 against 11 dead people and one living woman (who was reconciled). Also, in the 18th century, the Inquisition carried out two individual trials: in 1718, Rafel Pinya spontaneously inculpated himself and was reconciled, and in 1720, Gabriel Cortès, (also known as Morrofés) fled to Alexandria and returned formally to Judaism; he was burnt in effigy as the last person condemned to death by the Majorcan Inquisition. There is no doubt that these last cases are anecdotal; with the trials of 1691 came the end of the Crypto-Jewry of Majorca.
