The lateral sepals and the petals hang down against the ovary. The labellum is inclined upwards, is red- striped, has a smooth edge and a glandular tip. In the centre of the labellum is a band of deep purple-red calli. Flowering occurs between August and early November and is followed by a non-fleshy, dehiscent capsule containing a large number of seeds.

Trachinus draco is an elongated and laterally flattened fish with upstanding eyes and a distinct superior mouth that is inclined upwards. The lower jaw is longer than the upper jaw. The head is compact flat and relatively big and the eyes sit almost on top of it. The upper rim of the eye has two to three small spines, in front of each eye.

The unlined chamber is 10–15 cm wide and 5–7 cm high. Both the tunnel and egg chamber are inclined upwards, which is thought to minimize water entry into the chamber and to help the flow of waste material out of the nest. The generation time is approximately 4.2 years. A typical clutch size is 3-7 eggs, averaging to around 5 eggs per clutch.

These signals were semaphores, whose arms had a circle on their right-hand end, and were painted white with red edges (occasionally the colours were reversed). There would be at least one arm, which meant "stop" when aligned horizontally and "proceed" when inclined upwards at 45 degrees. Up to two additional arms could be mounted below for different routes. They were inclined at 45 degrees upwards when a diverging route was to be taken, and aligned vertically when the main route was set.

The second sacral rib is flatter, and tilts diagonally so that its tapering rear edge is positioned higher than its front edge. A groove is present along the outer edge of this rib, roughly where it would connect to the ilium. The sacrum in general is similar to that of the rauisuchid Stagonosuchus, except for having thinner neural spines. The caudals (tail vertebrae) near the hip were tall and generally similar to the dorsals, except that their zygapophyses were inclined upwards at a higher angle.

The major difference was in the brake rods of which there were two inboard of the wheels. The earlier SO and 562 locomotives had four pull- rods, the outer ones being outside of the wheels. The 1915 batch (Classified 52 and 502) had direct motion, without rocker arms, driving inclined piston valves, and Robinson superheater. The only external difference was that the shaft and reversing rod were a little higher which resulted in the rear of the left hand side sandbox rod being inclined upwards from the centre sandbox back to the firebox.

The tunnel to the north of the central bore was much shorter and inclined upwards, leading to the passenger terminal at Crown Street and a coal depot. Bonomi BS.7 photo from L'Aerophile June 1932 The fuselage was a triangular cross-section, plywood covered box beam, inclined upwards to place the triangular tailplane at the same height as the wing, strut braced on top of a trapezoidal fin. The fin carried a deep, unbalanced rudder, rectangular except at the bottom where it was cropped to match the bottom line of the beam. It worked in a notch between the two otherwise rectangular elevators, also unbalanced. The completely exposed pilot's seat was on the upper surface of the forward end of the beam, just under the leading edge, where a narrower forward extension carried the rudder bar and, on its underside, the front end of a landing skid that reached below and behind the pilot.

Cerroni and colleagues conducted a phylogenetic analysis to determine the affinities of Tralkasaurus. They found that it possesses synapomorphies of the Abelisauridae: a maxilla with a deep body, low ascending process, and reduced maxillary fossa, covered by foramina and rugosities; fused lining the inside of the maxillary tooth row bearing strong vertical ridges; the subdivision of the infradiapophyseal fossae by the posterior paradiapophyseal laminae; a connection between the transverse processes and parapophyses by the dorsal paradiapophyseal laminae; large transverse processes strongly inclined upwards on the caudal vertebrae; and a thin pubic shaft. They also identified the forward-inclined front margin of the antorbital fenestra and its excavation of the body of the maxilla, the rod-like parapophyses, and the low paradiapophyseal laminae as autapomorphies of Tralkasaurus. Within the Abelisauridae, the position of Tralkasaurus was more poorly resolved.

F. echinata has much in common with the other two species of the section Anhebecarpaea (F. westae and F. nordenstamii), which all have more than two whorls of involucral bracts, white ligulate florets with a purplish wash on the rear, pappus hairs of equal length and the surface of the cypselas of the ligulate florets bold, while the surface of the cypselas of the disc florets is covered in short bristly hairs. F. westae however has narrow lancet-shaped leaves of at most 1½ cm (0.6 in) wide that are inclined upwards and pressed against the stem, while in F. echinata the leaves are narrowly egg-shaped, about 3 cm (1¼ in) wide and curved outward from the stem. F. nordenstamii has long involucral bracts with dense long hairs, while F. echinata has 1 cm long involucral bracts with stiff bristly hairs, later becoming bold.
