The project was riddled with budget problems, an unfinished, nonsensical script of debauchery, drug use and paranoia.

When Milhouse's parents hear their son will play Fallout Boy, they buy expensive items because they expect to "start living in the fast lane" now that their son is a Hollywood movie star.

Around two miles north-west there is a grade separated staggered junction for the B759 road to Cambuslang/Kirkhill and Carmunnock and the road reduces to a 40-mile-per-hour speed limit. The junction can be dangerous due to the speeds involved, and the fact that the traffic for Cambuslang queues in the fast lane at busy times and crosses the southbound lanes, as does traffic from the B road onto the northbound carriageway. Fatalities have occurred and the construction of a new residential development in the adjacent fields led to safety measures being proposed in 2017. The road continues after another roundabout where an unclassified road for Cathkin joins.

The band began in 1977 when schoolmates Jeff Wolfe and Gregg Embrey decided to take to take matters into their own hands and start a band that rocked back to their roots of rockabilly, British mods, and California surf music. Donald Hugh Henley (born July 22, 1947) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and the only remaining founding member of the Eagles. He was the drummer and co-lead vocalist for the Eagles from 1971 until the band broke up in 1980, and has reprised those duties for the group's reunions since 1994. Henley sang the lead vocals on Eagles hits such as "Witchy Woman", "Desperado", "Best of My Love", "One of These Nights", "Hotel California", "Life in the Fast Lane", "The Long Run" and "Get Over It". After the Eagles broke up in 1980, Henley pursued a solo career and released his debut album I Can't Stand Still, in 1982.

Metal Allegiance's next release was a digital only covers EP entitled Fallen Heroes, released on August 12, 2016, as a tribute to then-recently deceased singers Lemmy, David Bowie and Glenn Frey. The EP includes covers of Motörhead's "Iron Fist", Bowie's "Suffragette City" and the Eagles' "Life in the Fast Lane", with vocals provided by Troy Sanders, Mark Osegueda and Alissa White-Gluz respectively. In honor of all of music's Fallen Heroes, Metal Allegiance performed a special "Fallen Heroes" tribute concert at The Grove in Anaheim, California on January 20, 2017 where they exclusively covered music from all of their personal musical heroes whom have passed on. Metal Allegiance released their second album, Volume II: Power Drunk Majesty, on September 7, 2018.

In late 1994, Flip left UK shores and relocated to Huntington Beach, California, US, the "heart" of world skateboarding. Along with other team members, Rowley, Scott and Glifberg, Penny exerted a significant impact on the skateboarding sub-culture with his small part in the Flip industry section in 411VM's "Issue 11"; his switch frontside flip at the Carlsbad Gap; and a five-trick downhill run that ended in a backside tailslide on a nine-stair handrail. By the end of 1995, Penny had received acclaim from notable professional skateboarders, such as Tony Hawk. During his time in the US, Penny released video parts in the mid-1990s, such as Etnies' Hi-Five, Transworld Skateboarding's Uno, TSA's Life in the Fast Lane, Balance in the World of Chaos and Dope Clothing's Time for Tea.

Plagued for years by internal strife, the band had reached a breaking point by July 31, 1980, when it performed a concert in Long Beach, California that served as a fund-raiser for then-Senator Alan Cranston's campaign. The version of "Life in the Fast Lane" for Eagles Live was recorded at this show, which was most notable for a dispute between bandmates Frey and Don Felder that culminated backstage, when they nearly came to blows.

The same year Marjoe was published, Gaines became editor of Circus, a national teeny-bopper rock and roll magazine, and he also began a six-year run as the "Top of the Pop" columnist for the New York Sunday News, on alternate Sundays, dual positions that gave him a catbird seat in the fast lane of the rock and roll business during the golden era of the seventies. Gaines spent a year on the road living with Alice Cooper, and in 1976 he published "Me, Alice," by Alice Cooper with Steven Gaines, the first autobiography of a rock star. Published only in hardcover, the book has since become a collectors' item and sells for up to $2500 a copy.
