Telefunken Blues is recommended for the set with Morgan, Benton, and Wiggins, although the session with the Count's men does offer several pleasures".

According to jazz critic Gary Giddins, the album was Rollins' "ultimate statement on the middle ground he sought between traditional constraints and free jazz—a disciplined howl of joy that seemed to steady him for the inevitable task of building a postfusion repertory". Jazz historian Scott Yanow was more reserved in his praise, writing in a review for AllMusic that Rollins is "in good form, saying little that it is new but delivering passionate messages with his typical spirit".

Mallett had not been in good form in this new format of cricket; in two matches earlier in the season, he had conceded 82 runs from his 10 overs, approximately twice the high as the average of that era. Despite his poor track record, Mallett took 3/34 from eight overs, removing Edrich, Keith Fletcher and John Hampshire as England were dismissed for 190. Australia went on to complete a five-wicket victory. Mallett took 4/40 and 2/85 in the Fourth Test at Sydney in the 1970-71 Ashes series, but Australia lost by 299 runs to go down 1-0 down and he was dropped immediately after the Test.

Grant remained in League One after leaving Crewe, and signed a two-year contract with nearby rivals Port Vale in June 2015. He started the 2015–16 season in good form, and was described by local press as the club's outstanding player during Vale's unbeaten run of six games to open the campaign, whilst captain Carl Dickinson said that "I can't see why he isn't playing higher". However his combative style of play left his with ten yellow cards before the new year, and as a result he was suspended for two games. He went on to collect 15 bookings and so was suspended for the final three matches of the campaign.
Graham started the 2007–08 season in good form, and was the division's top goalscorer from August until October, including one against his former loanee club Leeds United. However, after his goal on 13 October 2007, Graham did not score again until 2 February 2008. He made his 100th career appearance playing for Carlisle United against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on 3 March 2008, scoring the winning goal in a 1–0 victory, in a match broadcast live on Sky Sports. He returned to the first team in good form during the 1930–31 season, scoring 19 goals in 37 appearances. The signing of Arthur Crompton in February 1932 signalled the beginning of the end of Berry's time at Griffin Park and after making just one appearance during the early months of the 1932–33 season, he left the club in November 1932.
Strong performances for SANFL club saw Hartigan promoted to the Crows senior list during his first season, as cover for injured defender Brent Reilly. Hartigan subsequently made his AFL debut against in round 18, and went on to play three matches as a key defender, looking comfortable at AFL level. He played seven matches in 2014 before being dropped, and was in good form in the SANFL before suffering serious internal injuries in a collision with teammate Ben Rutten, which ruled him out for the rest of the season. In 2015, Hartigan established himself in Adelaide's young backline with 18 matches, during which he stood some of the most dangerous key forwards in the AFL.
Anderlecht defender Jean Thissen was shown a yellow card before the end of the half for a late tackle on Liverpool striker Kenny Dalglish. Anderlecht began the second half the better of the two sides as they pushed forward in an attempt to extend their lead. Rensenbrink, in particular, was in good form as he caused numerous problems for Liverpool defender Emlyn Hughes, who started because of an injury to Phil Thompson after being absent himself for a lengthy period. Liverpool replaced David Johnson with midfielder Steve Heighway in an attempt to get back into the match but it was to no avail as Anderlecht extended their lead late in the second half when Rensenbrink scored.
Maloney started the 2010–11 season in good form with goals against St Mirren, Hearts and a brace against Hamilton. Benfica started the season in good form, winning the first game, but this performance was not continued through the following matches. In September, the team dropped the first points, lagging behind in the title race, and lost the 1991 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira replay final against Porto on penalties, despite a two-goal advantage. The results did not improve as the season progressed, and an away loss to Sporting CP (the first in eight years) caused Ivić to be sacked days later and replaced by Toni. The effect was not immediate as the team suffered a compromising loss against Porto, which opened a four-point gap at the top of the league standings.

Black immediately negotiated a contract with Barrow, at £60-a-week less than his basic Lancaster City deal, but the difference was more than made up by a lump sum signing-on fee to be paid in three instalments. He started his Barrow career in good form; scoring three goals in his first six games and playing in his favoured central role alongside loanee Tom Pope. A red card in an FA Trophy defeat at Worcester City, for elbowing Dennis Pearce, led to a three match ban which derailed Black's progress. He returned to the starting line-up two months later but was sent-off again, much to the fury of his manager Phil Wilson.
Arsenal began the 2001–02 season in good form and a win against Liverpool in December 2001 – having gone down to ten men in the first half, helped them move second in the table. A draw against Southampton on 2 February 2002 started a run of 13 consecutive league wins – a new record, beginning against Everton. Jim Harrington from Mercury News reviewed the show at SAP Center, saying Lovato was "in good form" throughout the show and called the "Warrior" performance as a highlight. Jason Bracelin of Las Vegas Review-Journal called the show as a "night of full-throated pop pathos" and praised Lovato for sharing her emotional struggles during the concert. Similar thoughts were echoed by Ashley Naftule of Phoenix New Times who observed the inspirational speech during the "Warrior" performance. "Not only could she do pull off half a dozen costume changes, dance, sing her ass off, play the piano, and run around the arena like she was on a treasure hunt, Lovato could also deliver inspirational talks that were meaningful and moving," she wrote.
Leeds began the season in good form, with a Tony Yeboah hat-trick giving them an away win over AS Monaco in their UEFA Cup opener. But their European campaign was short-lived, and with the league title soon looking like an unrealistic target, their best hope of success was in the Coca-Cola Cup. They reached the final to claim their first cup final appearance since the 1975 European Cup Final, only to be defeated, losing 3–0 to Aston Villa. The Wembley defeat triggered a six-match losing run in the Premier League, and drew 0–0 with Coventry on the final day of the season, avoiding matching their own club record run of league defeats and gifting survival to their opponents.
The defending champions began the 2009 campaign in good form, winning six of their first eight matches. However, a major loss came as the Steelers lost Troy Polamalu in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. Troy came back in Week 6 against the Browns and played until Week 10 against the Bengals when he reinjured himself in the game. This effectively ended the rest of Troy's season. But starting in Week 10, things crumbled as Pittsburgh dropped five in a row, including losses to Kansas City and Oakland, two of the league's weakest teams. The ultimate disaster came in Week 14, when an unprepared, injury-compromised Steelers team lost to the 1–11 Cleveland Browns for the first time since 2003.

He subsequently received a three match ban and £5,000 fine from the Football Association.

The songs "Darkness" and "Lullaby" had actually been debuted on his recent tours before being committed to tape. She also possesses a good serve that combines power, with accurate placement to either get a head-start into the point or to win the point from the serve, with her being capable of serving several aces in a match; a tendency to take risks on her second serve, however, can lead to a relatively high number of double faults. Due to the aggressive nature of Pavlyuchenkova's game, she often accumulates high numbers of both winners and unforced errors. When Pavlyuchenkova is in good form, she is extremely dangerous - in her fourth round win against Angelique Kerber at the 2020 Australian Open, Pavlyuchenkova hit 71 winners to 36 unforced errors. As of 2020, her clothing sponsor is Lacoste, and her racquet sponsor is Wilson.
Myskina was a baseline player who combined excellent defensive skills with aggressive shot-making abilities. Her two-handed backhand was powerful, and was hit flat and with consistent depth, and was responsible for many of the winners she accumulated on court. Her forehand was also strong, especially when hit inside-out, and could be devastating when Myskina was in good form, but a lack of control sometimes led to a high number of unforced errors when employing this shot. Her serve was reliable, although not particularly strong, with her average first serve being delivered at 95 mph (153 km/h), meaning that she did not ace frequently, although her serve speed had been recorded as fast as 107 mph (172 km/h).

He was fined two weeks wages and the following day issued a full apology stating that he had "loved his time at the club" and would do everything in his power to regain a first-team spot. McDermott later stated that he was happy to draw a line under the recent events and that Guthrie still had a future at the club. Guthrie began the 2013–14 season in good form, scoring twice against Birmingham City and earning a Championship Player of the Month nomination, although he eventually lost out to Ipswich Town striker David McGoldrick.
Spitz injured his ankle that spring, and while he remained in good form the injury gave him on-and-off trouble. He was forced to scratch from the annual meet of his own club, the New York Athletic Club, in early June. But he managed to return in time for the Olympic Trials, and after he jumped 2.03 m (6 ft 8 in) in workouts ahead of the Trials and 1.99 m (6 ft in) in the competition itself, tying for first with Bob Van Osdel and Corny Johnson, he was again considered the leading Olympic favorite. At the Olympics, however, the injured ankle bothered him again and he only managed to place ninth, clearing no higher than 1.90 m (6 ft 3 in).

The Eagles 2007 pre-season was the most turbulent in the club's history, with midfielder Daniel Kerr charged with assault for two separate incidents, and former captain (and 2005 Brownlow Medallist) Ben Cousins suspended from the club indefinitely after continued breaches of team rules, most notably not turning up to training, leading to massive amounts of speculative reporting in the media. Despite this, the Eagles started the season in good form, winning their opening 6 matches, including another one-point victory over the Sydney Swans. However the Eagles of 2007 were nowhere near as dominant as those of 2005 or 2006. Instead, the Eagles spent much of the year in the bottom part of the top four, even slipping out of the top four at times.
However, in the lead up to the 2008 Olympic Games, she shifted her focus solely to the 100 m hurdles. This decision paid off, with Pearson claiming the silver medal in a dramatic final, where the favourite Lolo Jones stumbled and a photo finish was required to decide the minor medals. After the announcement of the official results a jubilant Pearson celebrated enthusiastically with bronze medal winner Priscilla Lopes-Schliep, and gave an emotional trackside interview. Pearson was in good form during the 2009 European season, winning five out of seven races and breaking the Australian and Oceanian record in the 100 m hurdles at the Herculis meeting in July, with a time of 12.50 seconds; 0.03 faster than the area record she had set on the same track a year earlier.

Stevenage's defence was, once again, particularly strong, with only league champions Charlton Athletic conceding fewer goals. He started in Stevenage's first game of the 2012–13 season, a 3–1 victory over AFC Wimbledon in the League Cup on 14 August 2012, and kept successive clean sheets during the month as Stevenage started the season in good form. Despite the club being unbeaten in their first nine league games with Day in goal, he was dropped by manager Gary Smith in favour of pre-season signing Steve Arnold following Stevenage's 2–2 draw with Bury on 29 September 2012. He was subsequently second choice goalkeeper for most of the remainder of the season, although briefly returned to first-team action after Arnold had been unavailable due to suspension.

On 24 May 2018, Daniel signed a two-year contract with League One side Peterborough United; manager Steve Evans said that "we have had to be patient as the kid has taken, quite rightly in my opinion, time to speak to a number of clubs that I would see competing at the top end of League One next season." He started the 2018–19 season in good form at left-back but was guilty of giving away too many penalties and slipped behind Tyler Denton and Daniel Lafferty in the pecking order. He featured 25 times for the "Posh" before he was dropped from the first-team and given permission to leave London Road on a free transfer following a 2–0 defeat at Barnsley on Boxing Day.

In the following game, away to Manchester United, Westwood made a 'magnificent double save' to deny Wayne Rooney and Patrice Evra, but United won 1–0. Despite Sunderland struggling for results, which saw Steve Bruce sacked on 30 November, Westwood remained in good form. However, after missing Sunderland's 1–0 victory over Manchester City on New Year's Day 2012, Westwood found himself second choice to Mignolet for the remainder of the season. Westwood remained behind Mignolet in the pecking order at the start of the 2012–13 season, with the Belgian playing in Sunderland's first two league games, although Westwood did play in Sunderland's League Cup victories over Morecambe and Milton Keynes Dons before a 1 – 0 defeat to Middlesbrough in the fourth round, a game in which Westwood also played.
Sayers started his cricket career, after switching from baseball, playing grade cricket with Woodville Cricket Club. Early on, he suffered from stress fractures in his back and was forced to play as a batsman, but he fought through his injuries to become a pace bowler and rise to Woodville's top-level team along with his brother Aaron. In the 2006–07 season, Sayers was the leading wicket-taker in South Australian grade cricket, with 55 wickets at an average of 14.65, and he fell one point short of winning the Bradman medal for the best grade cricketer of the season. As he was in good form in grade cricket, Sayers was given a rookie contract with South Australia's state team for the 2007–08 and 2008–09 seasons.
He also came close to scoring against Northampton Saints in the semi-finals of the Anglo-Welsh Cup; he made a clean break after the Scarlets declined a kickable penalty, only to be brought down by a covering defender 10 metres short of the try line. Following his impressive end to the season, the Scarlets extended Fenby's contract by another year. Fenby missed just eight games of the Scarlets' 2012–13 campaign, and finished the season as the region's top try-scorer, ahead of Welsh international wing George North. He started the season in good form, scoring five tries in the first four games, and only missed out on scoring in all four matches because of a controversial tackle by Ospreys flanker George Stowers as he was in the process of grounding the ball.
An almost capacity crowd of around 50,000 at the long Motodrom Halbemond saw local favourite Egon Müller became the first German rider to win the World Championship. As of 2016 he is the only German to have obtained the honour. Australian Champion Billy Sanders, in career best form and always at his best on the longer tracks like those in his native Australia, scored his best ever World Championship placing by finishing second, with England's 1980 World Champion Michael Lee finishing third. With both Sanders and former champion Lee in good form, and with the winner of the previous two World Finals Bruce Penhall having retired from speedway while on the podium at the 1982 World Final, the 1983 final was expected to be one of the most open in years.
Bennati then dropped out of the Eneco Tour and proceeded to the Vuelta a España in good form – where Pozzato was also a team leader. The Liquigas team won the first stage, a team time trial, with Pozzato crossing the line first and donning the leader's jersey. Bennati served as a domestique for Pozzato during the second stage, but when Pozzato did not retain the leader's jersey he was able to ride for himself. He was 2nd to Boonen the following day, and then won the fourth stage, ahead of Boonen but dropped out after the 9th stage. Bennati was not named to the Italian team for the UCI Road World Championships, and his bad luck in Paris–Tours, the sprinters’ classic, continued; he finished 8th in a race won by Philippe Gilbert.
She was selected for the Ethiopian squad for the 2010 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships and her sixth place finish helped her team mates Dire Tune and Feyse Tadese to the silver medals. After this point she began to focus more on professional marathon racing. Meseret set a new best of 2:30:45 to place second at the Florence Marathon at the end of 2010, though her next outing at the Rome City Marathon (2:33:40 for eighth) was less successful. She did not compete between May 2011 and March 2013 but returned in good form with a win at the Two Oceans Half Marathon a new best came two weeks later at the Pyongyang Marathon, at which she was the third-placer with 2:29:22 hours.
The other runners were Nuovo Record (Yushun Himba) Satono Aladdin and Staphanos from Japan, Criterion (Queen Elizabeth Stakes) and Lucia Valentina (Turnbull Stakes) from Australia and Free Port Lux (Prix Dollar) from France. A Shin Hikari broke quickly from his draw on the outside and took the lead soon after the start, setting a strong pace before accelerating three lengths clear of the field early in the straight. He stayed on in the closing stages to win by a length from Nuovo Record in a race record time of 2:00.6. Yutaka Take commented "The horse was in very good condition, so I had much confidence going into the race. The horse sometimes has a difficult temperament, but he’s in good form so I thought he had a very good chance".
After a disappointing first season back in the Third Division, Brentford chairman Jack Dunnett allowed manager Malky MacDonald significant funds for new signings. £18,000 was spent on inside forward Jimmy Bloomfield (who returned to Griffin Park after a decade away) and Newport County's journeyman forward Joe Bonson. The team began the season in good form, winning six and drawing one of the first 9 matches to sit atop the Third Division table. The early season goalscoring form of Joe Bonson meant that Billy McAdams, previously a regular scorer for the team, became surplus to requirements and was sold to local rivals Queens Park Rangers for £5,000. While the club established itself in the promotion places, £29,000 was spent on forwards Billy Cobb and Ian Lawther in October and November 1964.
However Hope struggled despite Bury being in good form – winning automatic promotion at the end of the 2014–15 season – and scored only one goal in his first 32 appearances since joining permanently; Flitcroft tried to accommodate him on the wings before bringing in veteran winger Chris Eagles and stated that Hope "has been a victim of the fine form of Leon Clarke, Tom Pope and Danny Rose". On 22 October 2015, Hope joined Carlisle United on a one-month loan deal. He made three appearances for the "Cumbrians", scoring in a 2–0 win over Plymouth Argyle on 7 November to take them into the second round of the FA Cup. He picked up an ankle injury during the game and was sidelined for two months, but nevertheless had his loan spell extended until 22 January.
Although the qualities of the show hunter are based on those of the field hunter, the modern show horse is somewhat different from its counterpart in the field. Show hunters prioritize perfection whereas field hunters reward efficiency and durability. A show hunter is supposed to make its movements look effortless; and maintain a long, low, ground-covering stride with a swinging shoulder, and a low head and neck set. They are expected to never stop at a fence, cause a knockdown or a rub, and take every fence in good form and hitting every planned stride in between While these characteristics are important for a field hunter, as a knockdown or a rub could result in a fall for the rider, the way of going is not as important for the field hunter as for the show hunter.
Coltman was a member of the New Zealand Under-20 side which won the 2010 IRB Junior World Championship held in Argentina, scoring 1 try in 5 matches. He was called up to the All Blacks squad to provide injury cover for Nathan Harris during the 2016 Rugby Championship, but didn't get any game time during the tournament as Dane Coles and Codie Taylor remained fit and in good form. However, during the 2016 end-of-year rugby union internationals, he made his debut, coming on as a 65th minute replacement for Codie Taylor in a 68–10 victory against in Rome. Coltman failed to make the field for the All Blacks during 2017, due to injury, but was re-selected for the three-test 2018 Steinlager series against France after an outstanding Super Rugby season.
Ahead of the season, Malky Mackay handed Eustace the captaincy, after USA international DeMerit was released on a bosman transfer. He started the season in good form, scoring Watford's first goal of the season in a 3–2 win at Norwich City, followed a week later with an over-head finish in a 2–2 draw against former club Coventry which turned out to be 2010/11 goal of the season. Eustace kept the captain's armband following the managerial appointment of Sean Dyche in June 2011 and signed a new two-year contract until 2013 at the end of July despite interest from Derby County. In June 2013, Eustace was offered a new contract with a player/coach role, which Eustace declined, stating that he was not ready to turn away from playing just yet, therefore leaving the club as a free agent.
According to what Colonel del Canto expressed, the active labor and perseverance of Körner gave a great impulse to the formation and organization of the congressional troops. The war carried out with these well-instructed troops developed itself in good form for the congress and it opened the doors for the central area to where their forces were transferred to give the coup de grace to the government of the President Balmaceda. The recently named Colonel Körner (July 1) planned and materialized a disembarking at the north of Concón approaching by means of columns to enemy positions. On August 26, 1891 the Battle of Concón was developed where besides serving as Chief of Staff, Körner was given the command of the first brigade and the corresponding responsibility to effect the attack in the west wing of the offensive.
Failing to qualify for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia and the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Brown announced her retirement from competitive swimming. However, the chance to swim at a home Olympic Games was too good an opportunity pass up. So, Brown made a pact with her then fiancé, now husband, medley swimmer Zane King that they would put everything into making the team for Sydney. For Brown this meant moving to Melbourne to link up with her former coach, Michael Piper leaving the Australian Institute of Sport-based King behind. She was in good form leading up to the Olympics trails taking the gold in the 200 metre breaststroke at the 2000 FINA Short Course World Championships as well as 4th in the 100 metre breaststroke and 5th in the 50 metre breaststroke.
Dellacqua, on the other hand, defeated former World No. 7 Patty Schnyder and former No. 1 Amélie Mauresmo en route to the fourth round of the Australian Open, a feat which would cause her to surpass Samantha Stosur as the Australian No. 1 and place her in good form. Junior Jessica Moore replaced Pratt in the team after increasing her ranking by four-hundred places to within the top 300 following a successful Australian Open campaign. They were placed in Pool A alongside India, New Zealand, and Indonesia. They played the New Zealanders in the first tie, with Dellacqua winning the first rubber after Sacha Jones retired due to cramp, Marina Erakovic winning the second after Molik retired suffering from a calf strain, and Dellacqua and Stubbs defeated Leanne Baker and Erakovic in doubles, 7–5, 6–2.

Houli was subject to racial vilification during the following week's match, with radio broadcaster John Burns later apologising publicly for yelling slurs from the stands at Houli while attending the round 5 match between Richmond and . On 29 August it was reported that Sunderland had accepted a bid from Stoke City for Collins (despite this, he was an unused substitute when the two sides played each other the next day) As expected, he signed for Stoke on 1 September for £2.75 million rising to £3.5 million. Collins made his Stoke debut in a 2–1 defeat at home to Chelsea in the following match against Bolton Wanderers Stoke were leading up until the 88th minute when Collins fouled Sam Ricketts in the penalty area costing Stoke three points. Jan Ullrich wearing the race leader's yellow jersey as the Tour passed through the Vosges mountains The Prologue was won by Time Trial Specialist Chris Boardman giving him the Yellow Jersey for stage one with Ullrich just two seconds behind. Defending champion Bjarne Riis, who had been preparing for and seeking a repeat victory with Ullrich acting as his Super-Domestique finished outside the top 10 but was in no way concerned as he had come into the Tour in good form. The first four stages were flat stages, the first two of which were won by the infamous Italian sprinter Mario Cipollini with the third going to Erik Zabel and the fourth being won by Nicola Minali. Cipollini would wear the Yellow Jersey following the first few stages due to bonus seconds during the sprint finishes.
Hewett began the 1893 season in good form, reaching his half-century in each of his first three matches for the county, including a total of 94 against Oxford University in late May. Hewett missed most of the match against Kent shortly after, returning to Taunton due to the death of his brother-in-law, during which time George Wood replaced him as a substitute. In July 1893, the touring Australians played Somerset at Taunton for the first time since 1882, when both the ground and the county team were barely established. After the success of the 1892 season, and because talented, Australian-born Sammy Woods was playing for Somerset, the match was eagerly anticipated. Thousands arrived in Taunton for the match, but after overnight torrential rain, the umpires inspected the pitch at 11:00 and abandoned play for the day.
Leroy Lita's shot for example was comfortably saved and Michail Antonio's left-footed shot went just over the bar. Radosław Majewski could have scored again for Forest at the other end of the pitch after fantastic play from a corner. Leroy Lita had another header and shot stopped by the opposition defence, while in the last few minutes Michail Antonio had his long range effort excellently blocked by Blackstock. The game finished in a loss for Sheffield Wednesday – their first for two-months, as they dropped to four-points adrift of the relegation zone. One-day off exactly a year since Dave Jones took charge in his first full game at Sheffield Wednesday (the 4–1 win against Bury), the Owls faced an away game against third in the league Watford – who were inevitably in good form.
Andrew Mueller of Uncut felt that the concert was well-translated onto a home video release, and praised the political aspects of the film, but called the final song of the film—"Moment of Surrender"—an "[i]ll-chosen closer" and "overlong and under-realised". Entertainment Weekly called the concert set "groundbreaking", and ranked U2360° at the Rose Bowl at number one on "The Must List" for the week prior to its release. The Associated Press felt the video release of the concert was much better than its original live stream on YouTube, and stated that the concert showed the band "well-rehearsed and in good form", although criticized how Bono's voice was "audibly hoarse" in several songs. The Sydney Morning Herald said that the concert's songs from No Line on the Horizon "stand out for freshness" and referred to the performances of "MLK" and "One" as a "lovely interlude".
Striker Robbie Keane was then signed on loan from Inter Milan and this, combined with a 4-0 win over Manchester City marked a turning point for Leeds and with key players including David Batty and Harry Kewell returning from injury Leeds began charging up the table with Robbie Keane in great scoring form. Leeds then qualified for the quarter final of the Champions League with more positive results, including a win against Belgian side Anderlecht, and after a 2-0 win over Sunderland Leeds were back in the top 3. Days later a win over Deportivo La Coruña saw Leeds reach the semi final of the Champions League but their cup run finally came to an end against Spanish giants Valencia who beat Leeds 3-0. Domestically, Leeds were ending the season in good form but a 2-1 loss to Arsenal would mean Leeds ended the season finishing 4th.
His captaincy started well enough with a two test home series win against England but Australia were well beaten in the 1988 Bledisloe and in 1989 lost the series to the British Lions. His temperament under pressure was questioned, though he was the subject of particularly nasty and provocative foul by opposite number Robert Jones, who in an effort to unsettle him, stamped a studded boot onto the top of Farr- Jones' right foot, which had recently been injured. More pressure followed in 1990 after the Wallabies were down 2–0 in the Bledisloe series it seemed certain he would lose the captaincy but the side won the final test 21–9 in Wellington and he celebrated with a naked swim in Wellington Harbour. The 1991 Bledisloe series was closely fought, ending in a tie and the Wallabies arrived in the British Isles in good form for the World Cup.
Mutai again used the Lisbon Half Marathon as preparation for a spring Marathon in 2009 and he proved to be in good form, setting a personal best of 1:00:45 hours. At the 2009 London Marathon he posted his third sub-2:07 time, but again this left him in fourth place in the perennially fast race while Samuel Wanjiru broke the course record. He gained his first international selection that year as he was chosen for the marathon at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics. He remained among the leading pack and the race came down to a duel between Mutai and Abel Kirui in the latter stages. It was Kirui who took the lead to claim the title, but Mutai took the silver medal in a time of 2:07:48 hours, which was the second fastest ever run at the event.
From Round 14 the Panthers only loss of the season was a 14–12 away loss to Cronulla-Sutherland in Round 20.1990 Penrith Panthers at Rugby League Project During the season he was selected at fullback for NSW in Games I and III of the 1991 State of Origin series, only missing Game II at the Sydney Football Stadium through injury. Despite his good form for Penrith and NSW and the absence of Gary Belcher through injury, Alexander was overlooked for the first test of mid-season Trans-Tasman Test series against New Zealand in favour of boom Brisbane and Qld fullback Paul Hauff, while he also missed selection in the final two games when selectors chose Andrew Ettingshausen. With Origin halfbacks Ricky Stuart and Allan Langer also in good form (Langer played) and Des Hasler in the team as a utility reserve, Alexander was only considered a chance of playing fullback in the tests.
It would go on to play in the Europa League for second year in a row, exiting the competition in the third qualifying round after losing to Sporting CP 2–1 aggregate, which had also eliminated Nordsjælland from Europe the previous season. left FCN started the new season in good form, peaking as high as second in the Superliga, and an undefeated run at home in all competitions until the 30 October, including an impressive 0–0 draw with Portuguese side Sporting CP, making the start of the 2011–12 campaign one of its best starts in recent years. For the first time in club history, a total of five players were called up to the Denmark national team to face Sweden and Finland in November: Mikkel Beckmann, Andreas Bjelland and debutantes Tobias Mikkelsen, Jesper Hansen and Jores Okore. FCN ended the season as Superliga champions for the first time in its history.

On 18 January 2018, Hannant signed an 18-month contract with EFL League Two side Port Vale after being signed for an undisclosed fee – reported to be a low five-figure sum – by Neil Aspin, his former manager at Gateshead. Despite being a newcomer to the English Football League, he was described as "a rare positive for the Valiants in a difficult start to 2018", and credited his good start to his career to the support of fellow midfielders Michael Tonge, Antony Kay and Danny Pugh. On 17 March, he scored his first goal in the Football League with curling effort from outside the box in a 2–2 draw with Stevenage at Vale Park; he went on to say that "I was a bit speechless when it went in". He began the 2018–19 season in good form on the left-side of midfield, scoring two goals in the opening five games, including a brilliant curling free-kick away at Carlisle United.
At the inaugural 1983 World Championships in Athletics he defied the more favoured East Germans, Udo Beyer and Timmermann, by leading the competition with an opening throw of 21.04 m. He then consolidated his lead with a throw of 21.39 m and won the gold medal to become the first ever shot put world champion. He came runner-up in the contest for Polish sportspersonality of the year for his achievement, finishing behind fellow track and field athlete Zdzisław Hoffmann who won the triple jump at the World Championships. He remained in good form the following year, setting a season's best of 20.89 m in Seville, but was excluded from the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics as the competition was boycotted by the Eastern Bloc countries. His final major competition came in 1986: he won the Polish indoor title and represented his country at the 1986 European Athletics Indoor Championships, finishing in fifth place.
Sydney City started the season in good form, but fell off after winning their first ten games, whilst Brisbane (with Allan Langer putting in some strong performances) dominated early but as had become their custom, lost ground mid-season during the Origin period. North Sydney, with a powerful forward pack and skillful goal-kicking half Jason Taylor feeding a superb set of outside backs, were expected to make the Grand Final, but as had become their habit in the 1990s they lost the preliminary final, this time to St. George. The 20-team competition in 1995 and 1996 caused frequent jackpots in FootyTAB's "Pick The Margins" and after three successive rounds without a single winner, on 8 July 1996 after a last-minute Sydney City penalty goal, one punter received an all- time record for any form of sports betting in Australia: $2,006,217. This year Canterbury-Bankstown back Terry Lamb set new record for most first-grade premiership games at 350 before retiring at the end of the season.

He was likely to share leadership of Etixx-Quick Step with Zdeněk Štybar, who was also in good form with a victory at Strade Bianche and second place at E3 Harelbeke earlier in the classics campaign. Bradley Wiggins riding the 2015 Paris-Roubaix Former Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins was riding the event as his final race for before moving to his new squad to begin his preparations for a return to track racing at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He was expected to share leadership of Sky with Geraint Thomas, winner of E3 Harelbeke, and Ian Stannard, winner of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Other likely contenders for victory included Sep Vanmarcke (Team LottoNL-Jumbo), the runner up in the 2013 edition of the race, John Degenkolb (Team Giant-Alpecin), the runner up of the 2014 edition, Lars Boom (Astana Pro Team) who won Stage 5 of the 2014 Tour de France which featured some of the Paris-Roubaix cobble sectors, Greg Van Avermaet (BMC Racing Team) and Peter Sagan (Tinkoff-Saxo).
The 2004–05 season was slightly hit and miss, with Brew only making 17 appearances and scoring just two tries before an injury to his groin (which seemed to be pretty common amongst the Welsh squad during this period with such players as Shane Williams and Barry Davies having similar operations) in March which ruled him out for the rest of the season. Brew returned to the Dragons side just before Christmas 2005 in good form; he scored four tries in the 12 appearances he made that season and earned himself a late call-up to the Welsh squad for their tour of Argentina. After being deployed mainly as a winger for the majority of his Dragons career, Brew moved into the centre for most of the 2006–07 season where he demonstrated perhaps that this was his best position. It was his ability to create space from the centre that helped Brew scored all of his five tries that season, as well as landing one drop goal in an EDF Energy Cup match against the Northampton Saints.
Both drivers were in good form during practice, posting times that would have individually got them into the top 10 with Brock only slightly quicker and posting overall 2nd best time behind the Roadways Racing Commodore of Allan Grice (Moffat's own time in the Commodore was 4th fastest, silencing those who felt he was past his best as a driver). Then early in Friday's qualifying session Moffat, in what turned out to be his only serious crash at Bathurst, put the 05 Commodore into the wall at the top of the mountain. This unfortunately caused the car to miss the Hardies Heroes Top 10 run off the next day as the car could not be repaired in time, its place in the top 10 being taken by the Commodore of former motorcycle racer Graeme Crosby. This meant that the Brock/Moffat car would start 11th on the grid. According to the team the car was repaired 'better than new' and Brock recorded a 2:18.80 lap in Saturday afternoon's practice. The race though only gave the Brock/Moffat team 5th place after they lost some 7 minutes in the pits bypassing a leaking oil cooler.

Then-academy manager Tony Humes described Lapslie as a "dynamic central midfielder" who is a "leader in the [youth] team". During the 2013–14 season, Lapslie featured regularly in the successful under-18 side, helping his team to a Youth Alliance South East league title and Youth Alliance Cup double, starting in the 4–2 final victory over Bradford City at Valley Parade on 29 April 2014. Lapslie first travelled with the Colchester United first-team squad in December 2012, travelling to Bournemouth for their League One fixture, and travelled again in the 2014–15 season for a trip to Crewe Alexandra in September 2014, having been in good form for the under-21 development squad. Lapslie made his professional debut for Colchester on 2 January 2015 in their FA Cup third round tie with Cardiff City at the Cardiff City Stadium, where he came on as a 64th-minute substitute for George Moncur in the 3–1 defeat. He then made his full debut and home debut on 24 January, starting and playing the full 90 minutes in Colchester's 2–0 relegation battle victory over Leyton Orient.
As his team was on its winter break, Müller was left to reflect on what he described as "an almost unbelievable first year as a pro". Müller began the second half of the season in good form, but was involved in an altercation with teammate Arjen Robben, who was angered when Müller showed his displeasure at a poor free-kick Robben took during a 3–1 win at Werder Bremen. Müller again played in every game of the season and scored 19 goals (12 in the league), but the season was less successful for Bayern, as they finished third in the league, and were knocked out of the DFB-Pokal in the semi-finals by Schalke 04 and in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League by Inter Milan; Bayern had won 1–0 at the San Siro, and Müller scored 31 minutes into the second leg to make it 3–1 on aggregate, but Inter levelled the score at 3–3 in the 88th minute to go through on the away goals rule. Müller's mentor Van Gaal was increasingly criticised for inflexibility in tactical, transfer and selection policy, and ultimately lost his job, being replaced with Jupp Heynckes.
Boucher started his 2007 Cricket World Cup campaign in good form with a 21-ball half century, the then fastest in World Cup history (before being beaten by Brendon McCullum's 20-ball effort six days later) – scoring 75 not out against the Netherlands as South Africa scored 353 for 4 wickets in a rain-shortened World Cup match. However, this was overshadowed by Herschelle Gibbs's six sixes in an over, the 3rd time ever in world cricket and first time in a One Day International match, and thus in the World Cup.SA vs NET, World Cup 2007 Cricinfo retrieved 25 February 2008 He became the first wicketkeeper in the history of test cricket to reach the milestone of 400 dismissals when he caught Danish Kaneria off the bowling of Makhaya Ntini on 10 October 2007 in the second test of the Bank Alfalah Test Series against Pakistan at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.Pakistan v South Africa at Lahore, 08-12 Oct 2007 Cricinfo retrieved 25 February 2008 Mark Boucher training at the Sydney Cricket Ground in January 2009 Despite being South Africa's consistent wicket-keeper for a long time, age meant that batsman AB de Villiers was given a chance with the gloves and he impressed.
Born in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, Djaló was brought up through Sporting CP's prolific youth system, and made his Primeira Liga debut on 16 September 2006, playing the second half of a 0–1 home loss against F.C. Paços de Ferreira. He proved himself a quality player, often coming off the bench, and also appeared in the club's campaign in the UEFA Champions League, renewing his contract during the season until 2013. On 6 April 2008, after a four-month absence due to injury, Djaló scored both goals in a 2–0 home win over S.C. Braga, having also found the net the previous week as a substitute in a 4–1 away defeat of Associação Naval 1º de Maio. He finished the season in good form, netting the only goal in a win at Paços de Ferreira which proved crucial in helping the side to retain their second place in the league; in the Taça de Portugal, he scored twice in a thrilling 5–3 semi-final win against city-rivals S.L. Benfica. On 16 August 2008, Djaló scored both goals in Sporting's win against defending league champions FC Porto to claim the Portuguese Supercup for the second year in a row.
