The highway extends approximately to an interchange with Interstate 90 (I-90) at the north edge of the town of Whitehall. The route traverses largely agricultural land in the Jefferson River valley.

The terrain is a rural and largely wooded, post- glacial landscape with sparse viewpoints, deep ravines, and a few bare mountain summits. The trail follows the western edge of this plateau in a northerly direction, then jogs east along the Massachusetts/New Hampshire border before turning north again to reach Mount Monadnock.
The district of Schölerberg is located in the south of Osnabrück. The only stream running through this district is the Riedenbach, flowing in a northerly direction and almost completely canalised up to a short section between the Waldpark Schölerberg (Schölerberg Forest Park) and the Vila-Real-Platz. The following districts surround Schölerberg in a clockwise direction (starting from 12 o’clock): Innenstadt, Fledder, Voxtrup, Nahne, Kalkhügel and Wüste.
SR 123 begins at an intersection with SR 167 just south of Hartford. The roadway continues as Geneva CR 61. From this point, the highway travels in a northerly direction where it intersects SR 52 in the central business district of Hartford. From Hartford, SR 123 travels in a northeasterly direction before turning to the north upon entering Houston County and intersecting SR 103.
König Glacier () is a glacier, long and wide, flowing in a northerly direction from the north side of Neumayer Glacier to the head of Fortuna Bay, South Georgia. It was first surveyed in 1928–29 by a German expedition under Kohl- Larsen, who named it for Austrian mountaineer Felix König, who took part in the Second German Antarctic Expedition, 1911–12, under Wilhelm Filchner.
SR 295 begins at its intersection with US 43 just south of Grove Hill. The route progresses in a northerly direction past the Grove Hill Memorial Hospital just prior to reaching its intersection with US 84. SR 295 continues in its northerly track through the central business district of Grove Hill prior to intersecting US 43 at its northern terminus north of the town.
Berners Street runs approximately 195 metres in a northerly direction from the junction of Oxford Street and Wardour Street to join up with Mortimer Street (formerly Charles Street) and the former Middlesex Hospital (now called Fitzroy Place). The street lies in an area known as Fitzrovia and is considered historically to be in East Marylebone. Twenty one trees were added to Berners Street in 2012.
The highest point of the municipality (80m above mean sea level) lies in Huetter Wohld, on the boundary to Ivendorf. The terrain falls northeast from this point over Huetten (35m) to the mouth of the Waidbach at 22m. The largest tarn in the municipality, resulting from peat extraction is to be found here. The terrain then rises to Parkentin (26m) and then falls in a northerly direction.
The Muota is a river in the Swiss canton of Schwyz and a tributary of Lake Lucerne. It has a length of . The Muota rises on the Ruosalp, an alp to the north of the Glatten on the border between the cantons of Schwyz and Uri. Initially, it flows in a northerly direction through the tiny Bisistal before turning west to the villages of Muotathal and Ried.
Ichilo River has its source in Manuel Maria Caballero Province in Santa Cruz Department at an elevation of 2,437 m at the foothills of the Racete range, where it is named Alto Ichilo (Upper Ichilo). In its course, after joining San Matéo, it is called Ichilo, flowing in a northerly direction, where it forms the border between the Cochabamba Department and the Santa Cruz Department.
Farm to Market Road 949 (FM 949) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Texas. The two-lane highway starts at FM 102 northwest of Eagle Lake in Colorado County, heads in a northerly direction across Interstate 10, swings northeast through the small communities of Bernardo and Cat Spring and ends at State Highway 36 (SH 36) near Peters in Austin County.
Most of the route is in Kings County. The route's eastern terminus is in Loch Lomond on the east bank of Loch Lomond, where it is known as Barnesville Rd. It travels in a northerly direction to Baxters Corner. From here, the road travels mostly northeast to Second Lake, Third Lake, and Primrose. The route continues to Barnesville, crosses the Back River, and continues along the north bank to Upham.
The Flushing area is dominated by the Flint River Valley. The Flint River flows in a northerly direction along the southern and western portions of the city and continues north bisecting Flushing Township. The valley is characterized by rich sandy loam ideal for the growth of vegetation. As a result, the valley is characterized by dense woodlots containing many varieties of trees and providing scenic and natural settings for the area.
The source of the brook is on the edge of the Nottinghamshire Wolds, near Old Dalby, Leicestershire. It initially flows in a northerly direction, and then turns west passing through the villages of Widmerpool, and Bunny. It crosses Bunny and Ruddington moor, and then flows north between Clifton and the village of Ruddington. The brook joins the River Trent near Silverdale, on the outskirts of Nottingham near Clifton Bridge.
Salmon Glacier in British Columbia, a popular tourist destination. Stewart, British Columbia immediately borders Hyder and is accessible by road via International Street. Outside of the town site, NFD-88 heads in a northerly direction winding through the Tongass National Forest, and enters the outer extent of Stewart's municipal limits continuing as Granduc Road. There are few local roads, and no roads connect Hyder to any other Alaskan communities.
The road begins at Junction 4 of the widened M2 (since 2003) where it travels in a northerly direction towards Gillingham. About along the route there is a roundabout, with road links to Hempstead and Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre on the left, and Wigmore on the right. The A278 continues as a dual carriageway travelling northwards. The route is generally surrounded by trees for much of its length.
The Nullagine River is a river in the Pilbara of Western Australia. The headwaters of the river rise South of Bonney Downs and then flow in a northerly direction. The river crosses the Marble Bar road at Nullagine and continues to flow in a north-easterly direction until it merges with the Oakover River to form the De Grey River. The river is bounded by the Chichester Range in the South.
It then continues in a northerly direction to its outlet on the rue Grange-Batelière. This was imposed by the irregular pattern of the three plots on which the passage was built. This last part of the passage is particularly narrow, leaving room only for the corridor and a shop. The Passage des Panoramas opens as a continuation of the passage Jouffroy on the other side of the Boulevard Montmartre.
SR 209 began at its intersection with SR 58 in the central business district of Centreville. The route continued in a northerly direction past the Bibb County Courthouse prior to turning in a northwesterly direction, along SR 25, en route to its northern terminus at US 82/SR 6/SR 25. The highway followed the following streets: Market Street, Court Square, Valley Street, and (while concurrent with SR 25) Montevallo Road.
The Rock Island stretched across Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Texas. The easternmost reach of the system was Chicago, and the system also reached Memphis, Tennessee. To the west, it reached Denver, Colorado, and Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Southernmost reaches were to Galveston, Texas, and Eunice, Louisiana, while in a northerly direction the Rock Island got as far as Minneapolis, Minnesota.
South Run looking downstream from Buckwheat Hollow Road South Run begins in a broad valley near Hickory Knob in Monroe Township. It flows in a northerly direction for several tenths of a mile before turning northwest as its valley narrows. After several tenths of a mile, the stream turns north for several tenths of a mile before turning northwest and then north again. It then reaches its confluence with Bowman Creek.
The Abba River is a river in the South West of Western Australia. The headwaters of the river rise in the Whicher Range in the Millbrook State Forest then flow in a northerly direction. The river crosses the Vasse Highway and then through Wonnerup Siding before discharging into the Vasse Estuary East of Busselton and finally the Indian Ocean. The river was named in 1834 by Frederick Ludlow.
The Hennops River starts in Terenure, Kempton Park, and flows in a northerly direction towards Tembisa township. It then flows past Olifantsfontein and meets the Sesmyl Spruit which flows out of the Rietvlei Dam. The river then turns north-west flowing through the centre of Centurion. The river continues in this direction flowing through the foothills of the Magaliesberg before flowing into the Crocodile River (Limpopo) on its right bank.
The area is suitable for hiking and backpacking. The Northville-Placid Trail has its southern terminus in Benson at the southern edge of the area and runs through the center in a northerly direction, crossing the northern boundary near Piseco Lake. Although this trail has some use by hikers, the foot trail from the vicinity of Hamilton Lake to the top of Hamilton Mountain is a more popular trail.
The Aripuanã State Forest is in the municipality of Apuí, Amazonas. It has an area of . The forest is bounded by the border with the state of Mato Grosso to the south, the Aripuanã Sustainable Development Reserve to the east and the Guariba Extractive Reserve to the west. The Paxiúba River, a tributary of the Aripuanã River enters the forest from the south and flows across it in a northerly direction.
The Rot during a period of flooding The Rot near Achstetten The Rot is a southern tributary of the river Danube in the region of Upper Swabia in Baden- Württemberg in Germany. It has a length of 56 km. The Rot runs in a northerly direction parallel to the river Iller to the east, and Westernach to the west. Both these rivers are also tributaries to the Danube.
The Matthew Lourey State Trail runs along Minnesota's eastern boundary. It starts in Chengwatana State Forest, runs northeasterly along the St. Croix River through the St. Croix State Park and into the St. Croix State Forest, and then in a northerly direction through the Nemadji State Forest before terminating near Holyoke. This segment of the trail is unpaved, and is intended for snowmobile, motorcycle, ATV, horseback riding, and mountain biking.
As SR-44 approaches the western edge of the recreation area, it starts to turn in a northerly direction overall, descending in a series of turns as it approaches the southwestern tip of Flaming Gorge Reservoir and passes through Sheep Creek Gap. From this point, the route turns north, exits the recreation area, and continues a few miles further before it ends at the intersection of SR-43 in Manila.
The Limmen Bight River is a river in the Northern Territory, Australia. The headwaters rise at the base of the Favenc Range near O.T. Downs and Broadmere Stations. It then flows in a northerly direction, with many smaller tributaries feeding the river which forms a series of braided channels across the plains. It flows past Sculthorpe Pound and through Limmen Gate hemmed to the east by the Tawallah Range.
The river rises in the Pinnacle Ranges below Mount McBryde near Pinevale, southwest of Mackay. The river flows in a northerly direction into the , one of Australia's richest sugar cane areas. At the river flows to the east before reaching its mouth and emptying into the Coral Sea at Mackay. The river is joined by ten tributaries including Cattle Creek, with the other major tributary being Blacks Creek.
Catlin Brook begins in an unnamed lake atop Bartlett Mountain in North Branch Township. It flows in a northerly direction for a short distance before entering another unnamed lake. The stream then turns north-northeast for a few tenths of a mile, beginning to descend Bartlett Mountain. It then turns north for several tenths of a mile before crossing Devil's Elbow Road and reaching the bottom of the mountain.
SC 395 begins at an intersection with SC 194 (Denny Highway) at a point northeast of Saluda and west of Lake Murray, within northeastern Saluda County. From this intersection, the roadway continues southeast as Sports Road. SC 395 travels to the north and curves to the northeast before crossing the Saluda River, where it enters Newberry County. It travels in a northerly direction and curves to the north-northeast.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 40.6 square miles (105.1 km2), of which 40.5 square miles (105.0 km2) is land and 0.1 square mile (0.2 km2) (0.15%) is water. The Black River flows through the town in a northerly direction, receiving a number of small streams. It enters east of Potters Pond. It continues northeast, then east to the village of Irasburg.
The Henry River is a river in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The headwaters of the river rise between High Range and Barlee Range. It flows in a northerly direction close to the western edge of the Barlee Range Nature Reserve, through Minnie Springs and discharges into the Ashburton River south- east of Nanutarra. There are five tributaries of the river including; Discovery Creek, Telfer River and Wannery Creek.
In the unincorporated town of Alaska, WIS 42 again turns east towards Lake Michigan to follow the shoreline into Algoma as Lake Street. In downtown Algoma, WIS 42 turns north onto 4th Street and crosses the Ahnapee River. On the north bank of the river, WIS 42 turns northwest onto North Water Street and follows the river in a northerly direction to Forestville in Door County, where it becomes Forestville Avenue.
Louisiana Highway 650 (LA 650) ran in a southeast to northwest direction between Gray and Schriever, Terrebonne Parish. From the southeast, LA 650 began at an intersection with LA 316 (Bayou Blue Road) at a point just east of Gray. It proceeded in a northerly direction along Bayou Blue Bypass Road. LA 650 briefly jogged to the east then back to the north, separating from Bayou Blue Bypass Road.
Chautauqua Creek is a tributary of Lake Erie, approximately long, in the southwestern corner of New York in the United States. The headwaters of the creek rise in the town of Sherman, in Chautauqua County, and flow in a northerly direction through the town and village of Westfield where they empty into Lake Erie. For much of its length, the creek serves as the boundary line between the towns of Westfield and Chautauqua.
Thomas Heftyes gate is a street in Oslo, Norway, that runs from Gabels gate via "Gimletoppen", before crossing Elisenbergveien and Bygdøy allé and continuing in a northerly direction to Frogner plass. It lies within an area formerly part of Frogner hovedgård. In 1891 the street was named after the banker Thomas Heftye (1822–1886), who had bought a large part of Frogner. In 1858-59 he had Villa Frognæs built on the ridge overlooking Frognerkilen.
It is located on the shores of the artificial lake, Cana Brava, created after a dam was constructed on the Tocantins River. This important river, a tributary of the Amazon, flows out of the lake in a northerly direction. The distance to the state capital, Goiânia, is 513 km. The Shaw River is an ephemeral river in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It was named by explorer F.T. Gregory on 21 August 1861 after Norton Shaw, Secretary of the Royal Geographical Society. The headwaters of the river rise below the Chichester Range near Emu Springs and flow in a northerly direction through Hillside. The river is braided and has many islands in the riverbed including Long Island and Rocky Island.
The Rottum is formed at the confluence of the Bellamonter Rottum and the Steinhauser Rottum (also known as Lower Rottum) within the borders of the city of Ochsenhausen from where it flows in a northerly direction towards the river Danube passing Goppertshofen. It then flows through Reinstetten and Schönebürg towards Mietingen. Between Schönebürg and Mietingen an unnamed tributary empties its waters into the Rottum. This tributary is supplied from ponds belonging to former Heggbach Abbey.
Liberty Bay is a narrow inlet extending about 4 miles in a northerly direction from the northwest part of Port Orchard, adjacent to the Kitsap Peninsula in Western Washington. The southeastern half of Liberty Bay is very narrow. The shores are low and wooded, and the shoreline is sand and gravel. There are mud flats at the head of the bay and in the small bight on the south side of the bay.
The river rises near Deadman Hill in the Ophthalmia Range about 30 km south of Newman. The river flows in a northerly direction parallel with the Great Northern Highway until it crosses the highway just south of the Marble Bar turn-off. The river then runs north-west then west crossing the Great Northern Highway again, north of the Auski Roadhouse. Approximately north of Newman, the river flows through the Fortescue Marsh, an important wetland.
Farm to Market Road 1160 (FM 1160) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Texas that remains within Wharton County. The highway starts at State Highway Loop 523 (Loop 523) in Louise, intersects with Future Interstate 69/U.S. Route 59 outside Louise and continues in a northerly direction for most of its length. Before its end at State Highway 71 (SH 71) near New Taiton, the highway turns directly to the east.
The source of the river is in the Mourne Mountains on the slopes of Ott Mountain. The river then flows in a northerly direction into Fofanny Dam. It continues its flow in a north- easterly direction into Tollymore Forest Park where the tributary Spinkwee River and Trassey River join it. The Shimna finally flows to the east, then takes a south easterly direction toward Newcastle where at one point it flows through Tipperary Wood.
Gordon Glacier () is an Antarctic glacier of at least in length flowing in a northerly direction beginning in the Crossover Pass, flowing through the Shackleton Range to finally meet the Slessor Glacier. The glacier was first mapped in 1957 by the CTAE, and named after George Patrick Pirie-Gordon, 15th Laird of Buthlaw (died 4 April 2011), who was a member of the Committee of Management and treasurer of the CTAE between 1955 and 1958.
The southern terminus of SR 241 is located at its intersection with US 278 in Whitehouse. From this point, the route travels in a northerly direction to its northern terminus at its intersection with SR 237 in Shady Grove. SR 241 shares a brief concurrency with SR 172 while it travels through Allens Factory. The route was originally made for farmers in the region to have a short cut around surrounding farms.
Cabramatta Creek rises in the rural/residential suburb of Denham Court, east southeast of Leppington, within the Liverpool local government area. From here the creek flows in a northerly direction under Camden Valley Way towards Hoxton Park, and its junction with Hinchinbrook Creek. Substantial residential development has occurred in these areas, particularly to the west of Cowpasture Road. A number of detention basins have also been constructed in conjunction with the development.
The lowest point (6m) is to be found on the northeast municipality boundary to Bargeshagen on the B105. The Rotbach also traverses the municipality at this point. At the western edge, on the boundary to Bad Doberan there is a 78 Hectare part of the Walkmueller Holz. The Stege, which is formed by the Waidbach south of Parkentin, flows in a northerly direction through the 3.3 km-long linear village of Bartenhagen.
From about 1900 there was a great need to relieve the railway lines in Berlin from an increase in freight traffic. The establishment of a bypass line around Berlin was also considered of strategic importance. Starting from Jüterbog on line runs via Seddin to Potsdam Wildpark station where the line joins the Berlin–Potsdam–Magdeburg Railway. A few kilometres further west, the route branches off in a northerly direction through Golm to Wustermark and Kremmen.

The Coongan River is an ephemeral river in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The headwaters of the river rise below the Chichester Range. The river flows in a northerly direction past Marble Bar then through the Gorge Range before discharging into the De Grey River, of which it is a tributary, at Mulyie Pool near Mount Woodhouse. The town of Marble Bar also draws approximately 180ML scheme water from the river's alluvium per year.
In the center of the hamlet, US 9 and NY 23 encounter a complex intersection that features a total of four routes. At the junction, US 9 continues to the southwest while NY 82 continues southeast along NY 23's course. NY 23, meanwhile, picks up US 9's routing, overlapping with NY 9H in a northerly direction that takes both highways across Taghkanic Creek and into the equally rural town of Claverack.
Hangors crew did, however, manage to predict the warships' movements. At midnight of 2/3 December 1971, Hangor, remaining submerged in a northerly direction, investigated radio transmissions intercepted from the warships belonging to the Western Naval Command of the Indian Navy that would launch a first missile attack on Karachi. The headwaters of the river are on the northern edge on the eastern side of the Mitchell Ranges near where the Central Arnhem Road crosses the Range. The river flows in a northerly direction though uninhabited country until it discharges into Buckingham Bay and the Arafura Sea. The estuary formed at the river mouth is tidal in nature and in near pristine condition.
After leaving the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality, it enters the Sarah Baartman District Municipality (previously Cacadu District Municipality) heading in north-north-west direction and then heading north-west. It intersects with the R336 to Kirkwood and goes through Kleinpoort. Shortly after Kleinpoort it intersects with the R329 to Willowmore and heads in a northerly direction. It intersects with the R400 (to Riebeek East and Makhanda) and heads north-west again going through Jansenville.
The Goromuru River is a river, located in the Northern Territory in Australia. The headwaters are found in the valleys of the Frederick Hills in Arnhem Land and flow in a northerly direction through uninhabited country for a distance of until discharging into Arnhem Bay and eventually the Arafura Sea. The catchment area of the river is . The estuary formed at the river mouth is tidal in nature and in near pristine condition.
In World War II several munitions and armaments factories were opened, which resulted in construction of two new industrial branch lines in the Woodville area. The Finsbury line was opened in September 1940 and departed from the main line at Woodville. It headed in a northerly direction and serviced a wartime munitions works at Cheltenham Park and a Government Supply Depot at Finsbury. The line continued through Pennington to join the Dry Creek-Port Adelaide railway at Gillman Junction.
The basal diameter of the edifice is , the basal surface , and the volume of the edifice is . Lava flows reaching lengths of extend in a northerly direction from the summit crater of Olca. There appear to be older lava flows on the western side of Olca that reach lengths of and that have been buried by younger flows. Other lava flows on the northern and western sides of the volcano were erupted from vents farther west of Olca.
The line then parallels the Main Western line to Blacktown station. The line branches off in a northerly direction from the Main Western Line at Blacktown station, and Blacktown platforms 1 and 2 (an island platform) serve the Richmond Line tracks. The line then heads north as a double track electrified line, passing the Blacktown Control Box and Blacktown train sidings to Marayong station, which has an island platform. The line continues north to Quakers Hill (island platform).
The southern terminus of SR 227 is located at the Etowah–DeKalb county line to the southwest of Hendrixville. From Hendrixville, the route travels in a northwesterly direction en route to Crossville. From Crossville, it travels in a northerly direction to Geraldine where it again resumes its northwesterly track. Upon entering Marshall County, it takes a more westerly route before turning towards the south en route to its northern terminus at US 431 in downtown Guntersville.
Alternating beds of light grey to dark greenish grey siltstone and greenish grey to light olive grey sandstones which weather to light orange grey. The siltstones frequently contain both symmetrical and asymmetrical ripple surfaces which indicate that paleocurrents traveled downstream in a northerly direction. Desiccation cracks which are infilled by fine sandstone are also found. The sandstones are fine-grained and mainly tabular, indicating that deposition of these sandstones was in a low-energy fluvial environment.
The highway begins at a diamond interchange on I-15 heading east and quickly turns north into Main Street. It continues in a northerly direction through the center of the town of Beaver for about . In the main part of town, it intersects with SR-21 to the west and SR-153 to the east. After leaving town to the north, the route turns back to the west and ends at another diamond interchange with I-15.
Johnston River is a river in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The Johnston River rises on Ruby Plains Station, flows in a northerly direction for 46 km and discharges into the Elvire River in Elvire Gorge to the east of Halls Creek. The first European to see the Johnston River was the surveyor, Harry Johnston, who surveyed the river in 1884. The river was named after him by another surveyor Charles William Nyulasy, in 1887.

The headwaters of the river rise at the base of the Foster Range near the southwestern edge of the Drysdale River National Park. Emmen is a terminus railway station located in Emmen, Netherlands. The station was opened on 1 November 1905 and is located on the Zwolle–Emmen railway. Train services are operated by Arriva. The line continues for a short distance to a headshunt where trains can wait before returning, formerly the line continued onwards in a northerly direction with stations at Weerdinge, Exloo and Buinen, to a junction with the now closed line between Assen and Stadskanaal at Gasselternijveen.
The Arawhata River (often spelt with the Ngāi Tahu Maori dialect spelling Arawata River) is in the West Coast region of the South Island of New Zealand. The river has its headwaters in the Mount Aspiring National Park. It drains the western side of the Southern Alps and heads in a northerly direction for , flowing into Jackson Bay. A small lake, Lake Ellery, drains into the river near its mouth, via a short tributary, the Jackson River.
The 132kV power line, begins at the 132kV substation at Tororo, in Tororo District, in the Eastern Region of Uganda. The Gilliat River is a river in the Gulf Country region of Queensland, Australia. The headwaters of the river are under Mount Edna in the Swords Range, it then flows in a northerly direction and crosses the Landsborough Highway near Hutt Mill and then continues north west. It then forms a series of braided channels as it continues through the mostly uninhabited Gulf Country savannah. The river crosses the Flinders Highway approximately west of Julia Creek.
The highway returns into Rochester and enters Lakeville between Little Quittacas and Great Quittacas Ponds. Route 18 joins Route 105 for a concurrency, running along the western shore of Assawompset Pond. Route 105 then shoots off in a northeasterly direction into Middleborough through the town’s center and, after its intersection with U.S. Route 44, turns in a northerly direction through East Middleborough, going past Oak Point along the way. Chambal River near Kota, Rajasthan The long Chambal River originates from the Singar Chouri peak on the northern slopes of the Vindhyan escarpment near Mandav, South-West of Mhow in Indore District, Madhya Pradesh state, at an elevation of about . The river flows first in a northerly direction through Madhya Pradesh (M.P.) for about and then in a generally north-easterly direction for through Rajasthan. The Chambal flows for another between M.P. and Rajasthan and a further between M.P. and Uttar Pradesh(U.P.).
For about three or four days Hansons activities went smoothly until she came upon a group of fleet tugs towing dry docks in a northerly direction. On 6 May 1971, Hanson collided with one of the Soviet Navy's fleet tugs. Hanson was following the Russian tugs towing floating dry docks. The tugs were headed north, perhaps to a Russian port, when one of the tugs (said to be the Diomede,) fell back and came along the starboard side of Hanson.

The river continues north running parallel to the Gregory Range until merging with the Nullagine River to form the De Grey River. The river flows through many permanent pools on its journey including; Toocoonaragee Pool, Carawine Pool, Yilgalong Pool and Ngumberramooring Pool.
The Bode is a river in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, a left tributary of the Saale. It rises in the Harz mountains and drains them in a northerly direction. After it discharges into the Saale at Nienburg. The river is named after a legendary giant, the wild, rampaging, Bohemian, Prince Bodo, who, according to the Rosstrappe legend changed into a marauding dog that guarded the crown of Princess Brunhilde in the Kronensumpf ("crown marsh") in the present-day Bode Gorge ().

The Cordillera Central (Spanish for central mountain range) is part of the Andes in Peru. The George River is a river in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The river was named on 16 July 1861 by the surveyor and explorer Frank Gregory, who was conducting an expedition in the area. It is not known after whom he named the river. The river rises in the Chichester Range and flows in a northerly direction through the Millstream-Chichester National Park and cutting across the North West Coastal Highway before discharging into the Little Sherlock river east of Roebourne.
SR 171 begins at its intersection with US 43 in Northport. From this point, SR 171 travels in a northerly direction through rural portions of northern Tuscaloosa County en route to Fayette. In Fayette, SR 171 intersects SR 159 and US 43 near its central business district and both SR 129 and SR 102 on its north side. The route continues in its northerly track and intersects US 78 and I-22 en route to its northern terminus at SR 17 in Hamilton.
A tiered boardwalk was constructed along the northern edge of the lake where the town center exists. A country club dominates the boardwalk near the dam at the waterfall at the outlet which is the source of the Wallkill River that created the lake. The Napfspitze lies north of St. Peter in the Tauferer Ahrntal valley and south of the Zillergrund bottom. The long ridge of Riblerkamm branches from the main chain of the Zillertal Alps at the Napfspitze heading in a northerly direction. He had realized the normal magnetic compass would not furnish accurate readings owing to the large iron ore deposits of the area. The rim is not quite circular, and appears somewhat polygonal-shaped with outward bulges along the edge, most notably to the west. Cárdenas was dispatched in September 1540 by the general stationed in Cíbola with the express mission of locating such a river and returning within 80 days. Pedro de Sotomayor accompanied him to record the event as a cronista. After some twenty days of marching in a northerly direction, he was successful; but his band found difficulties in reaching the river (called the River Tizon), owing to the sheer vertical distance down from their position. They were standing on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
The cadastral community lies in the Upper Pinzgau at the southern foot of the 2,225 m high Wildkogel in the municipality of Bramberg and west of the municipality of Hollersbach im Pinzgau. A stream of the same name flows through Mühlbach and it is one of the few tributaries in the Upper Pinzgau that empties into the Salzach river from the north. Rausch Creek begins at the confluence of the tributaries East Branch Rausch Creek and West Branch Rausch Creek in between two mountains in Hegins Township. RECAAP reported that all the 11 pirates were armed with machetes and pistols, and might be trying to sell the oil illegally in Vietnam. A report received by the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) stated that a company called "Petimax" will receive the oil from the tanker.

The O'Connell River is a river in North Queensland, Australia. The headwaters of the river rise in a valley under Mount Millar in the Clarke Range, part of the Great Dividing Range, just north of the Eungella National Park. It flows in a northerly direction parallel with the Bruce Highway passing Kamo and Caping then discharging into the Repulse Fish Habitat area near Covering Beach and onto the Coral Sea. The river has a catchment area of of which an area of is composed of estuarine wetlands.

Traveling along Second Street, the highway makes two 90 degree curves: one to the northwest, passing Sweeny Community Hospital, then to the northeast, leaving town in a northerly direction. New Rochelle Harbor is the name of a harbor located along Long Island Sound in the city of New Rochelle in Westchester County, New York. The Davenport Neck peninsula off the mainland divides New Rochelle's waterfront into two bays; the westerly referred to as New Rochelle Harbor and the easterly as Echo Bay. The upper portion the harbor lying behind Davenport’s Neck is known as "New Rochelle Creek". It extends in a northerly direction about a mile from the main entrance to the harbor east of Glen Island.

Caton is 5 miles north-east of Lancaster on the road to Hornby in the valley of the River Lune. It covers over 8,000 acres of which 4,000 were moorland where stone was quarried. The township is hilly, Caton Moor in the east rises to over 1,000 feet (361 metres) above sea level and to the south rises to Clougha Pike at 1,355 feet (413 metres) and Ward's Stone at 1,841 feet (561 metres). The Artle Beck flows in a northerly direction towards the wider flatter valley of the River Lune.
FM 1464 begins at a traffic signal on SH 99 about north of the intersection of SH 99 and U.S. Route 90A (US 90A). The location is also a short distance to the north of a railroad underpass. The Brinkworth Brook rises at Broad Town, just north of Broad Hinton, near Royal Wootton Bassett. It flows first in a northerly direction, and then just south of Royal Wootton Bassett it is joined by minor tributaries from Westlea in Swindon and a reservoir at Tockenham Wick. The stream then passes under the M4 motorway and turns to the west past Brinkworth, joined on the right by the Thunder Brook near Dovey's Farm. Because both projects derive their sources from the Sacramento River further north, pumping results in a reverse flow in the Old River as water flowing through the Delta Cross Channel is drawn southward through the Delta and up the Old River. (Naturally, the Old River would have flowed in a northerly direction). During dry summers, this often results in saltwater intrusion from San Francisco Bay. The reverse flow also confuses migrating salmon in the San Joaquin River which may have contributed to the decline of the species in the 20th century.
The King Edward River is a river in the Kimberley of Western Australia. The headwaters of the river rise below Poonjurra Hill and flows in a northerly direction almost parallel with the Kalumburu Road and eventually discharges into Deep Bay then Napier Broome Bay and finally the Indian Ocean. The start of the course is on the Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage next to the iconic Messeturm. Upon reaching the Platz der Republik the course turns left into Mainzer Landstrasse. After a lap of the Taunusanlage athletes return to the start of the course and continue onwards to the Bockenheimer Warte, before going to the Alter Oper via Bockenheimer Landstrasse. The course then continues along Reuterweg and Bremer Strasse in a northerly direction as far as the Westend Campus at the University of Frankfurt, before returning to Opernplatz via Eschersheimer Landstrasse and the Bockenheimer Anlage.

At Marion, SR 183 begins an approximately concurrency with SR 5 through the town and then begins another approximately concurrency SR 14 at the eastern end of Marion through Sprott. From Sprott, SR 183 continues on its northeasterly course through the Talladega National Forest en route to its northern terminus at US 82 in Chilton County.
Northam airport, at the junction of Great Eastern Highway and Northam–Pithara Road Great Eastern Highway continues past The Lakes in a northerly direction, reduced to a single carriageway with one lane in each direction. later, the highway encounters the north-eastern end of Old Northam Road, and subsequently winds its way through a reverse curve. It travels in between Acacia Prison and Wooroloo Prison Farm and then alongside Wooroloo Brook, for , before crossing the waterway. The highway then heads in a north- easterly direction, passing to the south of , through , and reaching after .
Puerto Rico Highway 250 (PR-250) is the main and longest highway located in Culebra, Puerto Rico. Formerly known as PR-998, it runs from the Port of Culebra (pier) near the Dewey town square in a northerly direction until it intersects with the PR-251 in the Clark Community in front of Benjamín Rivera Noriega Airport. From this point, it extends to the east, bordering the north side of Ensenada Honda, reaching the Zoni Beach. This road has direct access to the Sardinas, Mosquito, Larga and Tórtolos beaches in the Flamenco neighborhood.
FM 359 begins at a traffic signal on US 90A northeast of the Brazos River bridge at Richmond. The highway immediately crosses the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and heads north through Pecan Grove. At the traffic light at Farmer Road, FM 359 turns in a westerly direction for to a traffic signal at FM 723\. This intersection is just north of John and Randolph Foster High School in Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. After proceeding northwest, FM 359 passes through the rural community of Foster and turns in a northerly direction.
Throughout August, September and October, the party passed through the desert country of the Gibson and Great Sandy Deserts. At first, the terrain was largely flat, and consisted almost entirely of spinifex and sand (hence the name Spinifex and Sand for Carnegie's published account of the expedition). Later, the flatness of the land was broken up by regular sandridges, running in an east-west direction. Since the party was travelling in a northerly direction, they had to cross these sandridges at right angles, and this made travel even more difficult.
It divides here in such a way that the two left stripes on the left lead past a bridge pier and the right strip on the right. At the gap in the Eifel is still not closed, is displayed on the A 1 from Saarbrücken in northern direction as the long-haul destination Cologne. The bypass of the gap is signposted from the triangle Vulkaneifel on the A 48 to the cross Koblenz, then from there on the A 61, which meets again in a northerly direction on the A 1.
SH 67 starts at SH 6 and proceeds in a northerly direction until the intersection with SH 67A. There the road turns right and crosses the Buller River to enter the township of Westport. Once in the CBD, the highway turns right and proceeds in an easterly direction until it crosses the Orowaiti River. The road passes through alternating areas of farmland and temperate rainforest vegetation as it passes the settlements of Waimangaroa (turn right here for Denniston), Granity (turn right here for Millerton, Stockton and Stockton Mine), Ngakwau and Hector.
It is also possible that, in early settlement times, these rivers formed a canoe route between the Illinois River and Wabash River, with a portage through the marshes near Roberts. This may explain why the two rivers have the same name. The north-flowing Vermilion flows in a northerly direction from its origin in Livingston and Ford counties in north central Illinois, eventually emptying into the Illinois River, near Oglesby. Perhaps it is best known for its stretch of whitewater between Lowell and Oglesby, Illinois, which is one of few found in Illinois.
The wreck of Yongala was in length. The bow points in a northerly direction (347°), and although she lies listing to starboard at an angle of between 60° and 70°, the vessel's structural integrity has been retained. The depth of water to the sea floor is approximately ), with the upper sections of the wreck below the surface. Yongalas ship's bell The sea floor surrounding the wreck is open and sandy, so the wreck has become an established artificial reef, providing a structurally complex habitat for a diverse range of marine life.
The headwaters are located on the sandstone plateau fed by springs in Arnhem Land at an elevation of and flows in a northerly direction through mostly uninhabited lands and eventually discharges into Junction Bay and the Arafura Sea. The only tributary of the river is the Gumardir River. The estuary formed at the river mouth is in near pristine condition and occupies an area of of open water. It is riverdominated in nature with a tide dominated delta having a single channel and is surrounded by an area of covered with mangroves.
Rosebank (or the Rosebank Peninsula) is a peninsula and industrial suburb of Auckland City, New Zealand, forming the westernmost part of the city at the edge to Waitakere City, and jutting out into the Waitemata Harbour. The peninsula runs from the southeast in a northerly direction, with the Whau River on its west. Pollen Island and Traherne Island lie nearby in the harbour on the north-eastern side of the peninsula. Traherne Island is connected to the peninsula by a causeway that is part of the Northwestern Motorway.
The Sherlock River is a river in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It was named on 11 July 1861 by the surveyor and explorer Frank Gregory while on expedition in the area. The headwaters of the river rise from numerous springs on the Abydos Plain below the Mungaroona Range near the western edge of the Mungaroona Range Nature Reserve then flows in a northerly direction past the Chichester Range and then continuing North. The river crosses the North West Coastal Highway near Mount Fraser before discharging into Sherlock Bay and the Indian Ocean.

Oruwal Oya and Diyaeli Oya joins the Attanagalu Oya in Gampaha. The river then flows in a northerly direction and joined by Kimbulapitiya oya and Mapalan Oya in Madawala ( near Katunayake) and forms Dandugam Oya, Attanagalu Oya-Dandugam Oya river system then finally discharges into Negombo Lagoon in Dandugama Area where Muthurajawela meets Negombo Lagoon.
Preston had a railway station called Preston Platform briefly between 1911 and 1914. The entrance to the platform (now bricked up with grey breeze blocks) can be found on the footpath that runs in a northerly direction below the railway bridge at the bottom of Seaway Road. Preston Platform was the only halt ever built between the Torquay and Paignton railway stations. Preston has a primary school, Preston Primary, which technically is in the Livermead suburb of Torquay, with the boundary between the towns of Paignton and Torquay running through the school grounds.
From the south, LA 136 begins at an intersection with LA 134 in the small community of Fairbanks. At this intersection, LA 134 turns east away from Fairbanks while LA 136 proceeds straight ahead in a northerly direction and crosses the Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi Railroad (ALM) line at a point known as Fowler. LA 134 parallels Bayou De Siard along a sharp bend to the west at Guthrie. It reaches its eastern terminus soon afterward at an intersection with US 165 and LA 2 at the eastern edge of Sterlington.
The Vasse River is a river in the South West of Western Australia. The headwaters of the river are in the Whicher Range below Chapman Hill and it flows in a northerly direction through the City of Busselton until discharging into the Vasse Estuary and then the Indian Ocean via Wonnerup Inlet and Geographe Bay. The river is named after French seaman Thomas (Timothée) Vasse, who disappeared in the area in June 1801 during Nicolas Baudin's expedition. It is estimated that 81.5% of the Vasse River catchment has been cleared.
The story begins with the children already on their way to their next destination. They have to find a bend in a river in the shape of an M. The River is in a northerly direction from their camp, and as they are flying, they see a bush fire in the distance and some people in distress. They land and rescue a man and a woman and some small animals. The woman is desperate for them to go after her daughter, who has left the farm in search of her horse Victory Stride.

Yea River Conservation Reserve Jan 2020 The Yea River rises in the Toolangi State Forest north-east of and northwest of Mount Tanglefoot, part of the Great Dividing Range. The river generally flows in a northerly direction, generally aligned with the Melba Highway which crosses the river in its lower reaches. The river is joined by six tributaries including the Murrindindi River, flows east and north of the town of before reaching its confluence with the Goulburn River, near Ghin Ghin Bridge. The river descends over its course.
NC 5 starts at a three-way intersection at Malcolm Blue Farm and progresses through downtown Aberdeen, where it crosses US 1/US 15/US 501/NC 211/Sandhills Boulevard and continues northwest towards Pinehurst. It comes to its northern terminus at NC 211 at the Pinehurst/Taylortown city limits border. All the NC 5 shields east of Sandhills Boulevard have no directional plates; this is because at NC 5's southern terminus, the route is heading in a northerly direction. NC 5's central segment parallels a railroad owned by Norfolk Southern.
The railroad Zeitz-Camburg was set aside in 2000. Adjacent communities like Droyssig have spoken out on political grounds for a bus (in the whole region bus (in parallel) transport and railway lines to set the agenda), the (very small and often congested) bus service is made public, business and traffic point of view not much longer so portable, it is an association for the promotion of the railway line to be established. Connects to highway 180 to Zeitz and Naumburg (Saale), it is 4 km in a northerly direction.

Avenham has always been a populous community at the heart of Preston, be it the age of back-to-back terraced housing, or the current mix of multi-occupancy homes, new build flats, old style high-rises, and low income houses. Avenham contains some of Preston’s oldest streets, as well as the shining new build which followed city status. The Town Centre ward has the River Ribble and Frenchwood at its southern base, moving through in a northerly direction through Avenham, the city centre, and to the borders of the UCLaN campus.
Aguas Zarcas has an area of km² making it the eighth district of the canton by area and an elevation of metres. It is located at an elevation range of 100 to 2100 meters above sea level. This great variation of altitude is due to the fact that in the South of the district are the mountain foothills of the Central Mountain Range, whereas in a northerly direction, the territory follows a clear descent towards the plains of San Carlos. It is located in the northern region of the country.
Until the early 1970s, the road ran from a junction with the A57 road at Bold Heath, four miles west of Warrington. The road currently begins at junction 7 (Rainhill Stoops) of the M62 motorway in Merseyside, and runs in a northerly direction as a dual carriageway through the centre of St Helens, meeting the A58 road, then the A580 road to the north of the town. The road continues in a north-westerly direction, bypassing Rainford to dual carriageway standard. It crosses the border into Lancashire, before reaching junction 3 of the M58 motorway.
Thunder Creek is a stream located entirely within North Cascades National Park and the Ross Lake National Recreation Area in the US state of Washington. Thunder Creek runs in a northerly direction most of its route starting from just north of Park Creek Pass in the south district of North Cascades National Park and ending at Diablo Lake in Ross Lake National Recreation Area. Prior to the construction of the Diablo Dam, Thunder Creek emptied into the Skagit River. A popular hiking trail parallels Thunder Creek its entire length.
Drysdale River is a river in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The river rises in the Caroline Ranges, flows in a northerly direction and discharges into Napier Broome Bay near Kalumburu. The river contains several permanent pools some of which have several examples of Indigenous Australian art known as Bradshaw paintings that can be found along the cliff faces. Notable waterfalls on the river are the Eagle Falls - which are regularly visited by Kimberley coastal cruise ships, Solea Falls north of the Johnston Creek fork and Bango Falls on the tributary Bango Creek.
IL 50 begins in Kankakee at an intersection with Southeast Avenue (US 45/US 52) and heads north as Schuyler Avenue. The four-lane road crosses the Kankakee River and then turns east onto East River Street before turning north onto a one-way pair of Harrison Avenue northbound and Indiana Avenue southbound. While on this one-way pair, IL 50 crosses two railroads, then turns east onto Fair Street and crosses a third. After crossing the railroads, the roadway curves in a northerly direction and becomes Hobbie Avenue before it enters Bradley.

Rodney, who had left StEustatius earlier that day in Sandwich with the 74-gun and the hurriedly repaired Russell, met with Hood on 11May between St Kitts and Antigua. The reunited fleet turned south, putting into Barbados on 18May.
The river Sado () is a river in Southern Portugal; it is one of the major rivers in the country. It flows in a northerly direction (the only major Portuguese river to do so) through from its springs in the hills of Ourique before entering the Atlantic Ocean in an estuary in the city of Setúbal. The estuary is the habitat of a large community of bottlenose dolphins; there are 31 members of the pod, each of whom has been named (2007). The river is dammed in several places, chiefly for irrigation of rice, maize, and other vegetables.
The Kiwalik River flows on the north side of Seward Peninsula. Its origin is in a low ridge that divides the Kiwalik catchment, flows for a length of about in a northerly direction, and finally debouches into Spafarief Bay; this bay protrudes from the Kotzebue Sound in a southeasterly direction. Its traverse further lower down for stretch of , through the flat lowland areas, is through a wide expanse of many miles; the river, however, has a narrow stretch of about in river stretch of a few miles, upstream of Candle. Beyond the Candle, it forms into a lagoon.

The Line D connects to the station in a northerly direction and follows Düsseldorfer Straße to Platz der Republik, while the tracks of the Line B branch off to the west. The existing tunnel stump is currently being used as a turning facility for the U5 line, and is due to be extended to Europaviertel by 2019. The D-Tunnel continues to follow the Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage, where after a short time the underground station Festhalle / Messe is reached. The station was equipped with an extremely wide platform, taking into account the expected number of passengers at fairs.
This large and densely wooded nature park was founded in 1959 within the borders of the now defunct district of Münden. It is just under in area and runs almost from the eastern edge of the town of Kassel and border of Hesse in a northerly direction through the northern part of the Kaufungen Forest via Hann. Münden to the Bramwald and Dransfeld Town Forest. It lies south, east and northeast of the confluence of the Fulda and Werra rivers with the Weser and borders in the south and southeast on the Meißner-Kaufungen Forest Nature Park.
The Ravensbourne is 11 miles (17 km) in length with a total catchment area of 180 km2. It flows through the London Boroughs of Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich. The Ravensbourne rises at Caesar's Well, Keston, four miles south of Bromley town centre, and flows initially in a northerly direction. For the initial third of its length the river flows across common land (including Hayes Common and Bromley Common) until it reaches the southern outskirts of Bromley town where it is joined by the Ravensbourne South Branch and the Ravensbourne East Branch, which substantially increase the flow.
The Woodbridge Brook rises at Midgehall Copse, just north of the M4 motorway, in the parish of Lydiard Millicent. It flows first in a northerly direction, and then to the west through Webbs Wood, passing to the north of Brinkworth. Continuing westwards through Garsdon Wood it begins to turn to the south and is joined on the right bank by two unnamed streams which have their sources at Braydon Wood and Charlton respectively. The stream now flows almost due south to Crab Mill Farm and then turns west again to join the Bristol Avon, just above Cowbridge to the east of Malmesbury.
The source of the river is a series of springs that occur on the northern flank of Cleeve Hill, on the edge of the Cotswold Hills. These springs occur where the permeable Jurassic limestone, meets the impermeable Upper Lias mudstone and clays that underlie most of the Isbourne catchment. The river flows from Cleeve Hill in a steep valley in a northerly direction through the hamlet of Postlip, before reaching the town of Winchcombe which it passes along its eastern side. Beyond the town, it continues northwards to Toddington, through the grounds of Toddington Manor, and then past the village of Wormington.
Rounding Algiers Point A downbound ship and other vessels on the Lower Mississippi River, with Algiers Point to the right The course of the Mississippi River past and through New Orleans is in the shape of a crescent. As the river reaches the downriver end of that crescent, flowing by then in a northerly direction, it makes a sharp "right-hand" turn to the east. The French Quarter, Faubourg Marigny and Bywater lie on the outside of the bend on the river's left descending bank. The point of land on the river's right descending bank is, and has historically been, called Algiers Point.
Mill Creek is formed by a series of streams on the eastern flanks of North Mountain along Frog Hollow Road (Virginia Secondary Route 654) in northern Frederick County, Virginia. Mill Creek crosses into Berkeley County, West Virginia, and continues its flow in a northerly direction along the eastern flanks of the mountain, parallel to County Route 51/2. Along its course, Mill Creek is fed by a number of smaller spring-fed streams. Mill Creek then turns to the northeast towards the historic hamlet of Gerrardstown, where it then meanders and heads east along Gerrardstown Road (West Virginia Route 51).
The Foster- Lambert dial is another movable-gnomon sundial. In contrast to the elliptical analemmatic dial, the Lambert dial is circular with evenly spaced hour lines, making it an equiangular sundial, similar to the equatorial, spherical, cylindrical and conical dials described above. The gnomon of a Foster-Lambert dial is neither vertical nor aligned with the Earth's rotational axis; rather, it is tilted northwards by an angle α = 45° - (Φ/2), where Φ is the geographical latitude. Thus, a Foster-Lambert dial located at latitude 40° would have a gnomon tilted away from vertical by 25° in a northerly direction.
In preparation for the construction of the Pitt Street Mall, in February 1987 the sections between Hunter Street and Martin Place, and Martin Place and King Street were converted to two-way cul de sacs to allow the Martin Place plaza to be extended. This was later reverted and today the Circular Quay to King Street section is one-way throughout in a southerly direction. From Goulburn Street to Park Street was converted to become one-way in a northerly direction. The Market Street to Park Street section initially remained as a southbound street, but was later converted to run northbound.
The major tributaries of the Tongue are Pumpkin Creek, Otter Creek, Hanging Woman Creek, Prairie Dog Creek and Goose Creek. All these tributaries enter on the eastern side of the river, and all flow in a northerly direction. Pumpkin Creek enters the Tongue about above the mouth of the river, and extends for into the Custer National Forest; the small community of Sonnette, Montana is at the headwaters. Otter Creek enters the Tongue River near Ashland, Montana, about upstream of the mouth of the river, and its headwaters are near the Wyoming- Montana state line about to the south.
In early times the Meare Pool collected the waters of the rivers Brue and Sheppey, and discharged in a northerly direction into the Lower River Axe. In the later years of the 12th century the Abbey diverted the Brue to flow westwards, perhaps largely through natural channels, from Meare Pool to join the river Parrett. Further reclamation was carried out in stages between about 1620 and 1740, with the "new Cutts" (or Decoy Rhyne) being built about 1660. The rivers Sheppey and Hartlake were canalised into the River James Wear and Division Rhyne sometime in the late 1730s.
They believed the outer section of the right wing was torn away when the aircraft was south of its intended flight path, heading in a northerly direction, and at a height between . They believed this occurred at a time when the aircraft should have been at about , heading west and passing over a radio navigation aid nine miles away. It was necessary for the investigation to find a rational explanation as to why the aircraft was so far from where it should have been. Accident investigators studied a scientific report titled The Thunderstorm published in the USA in 1949.
445 Today the base for an ascent of the Schlieferspitze is the Warnsdorfer Hut to the south in the upper Krimmler Achental valley at 2,336 metres. The normal route to the top heads in a northerly direction to the southwest arête and then continues up a steep gradient classified, according to the literature as a UIAA grade II- climb to the summit cross. The journey time is about 3½ hours. From 1904 to 1934 climbing routes were opened up the faces and flanks of the Spitze; however these are no longer used due to the high risk of rockfalls.
Caundle Brook is a tributary of the River Lydden that flows through Blackmore Vale in Dorset, England. Its headwaters rise at the foot of Dogbury Hill near Cosmore, the brook then flows in a northerly direction past the villages of Middlemarsh and Tiley until it collects The Cam and a second tributary that drains Caundle Marsh. Here it turns east, and is then crossed by Cornford Bridge and then the A3030 near Bishop's Caundle, it continues past Rowden Mill south of Stourton Caundle before being crossed by the A357 at Warr Bridge beyond which it joins the Lydden near Lydlinch.
This should be accompanied by the extraction of the Danube and Alpine provinces from the recently enlarged German state, and the re-establishment of an independent Austria, which should also incorporate Bavaria, thereby extending in a northerly direction all the way to the River Main. In the end, there were around 300-400 members, many of whom had been taught by Scholz at the monastery school an hour's walk downriver from Vienna. The group was also networked with other resistance groups, notably in former Czechoslovakia, and maintained contacts with agents of the allied powers. Such contacts were not without their own risks, however.

The expedition endured an extremely rough voyage and in one of his diary entries Tasman credited his compass, claiming it was the only thing that had kept him alive. On 13 December 1642 they sighted land on the north-west coast of the South Island, New Zealand, becoming the first Europeans to sight New Zealand. Tasman named it Staten Landt "in honour of the States General" (Dutch parliament).
Looking Glass Hill Road Highway 49 (MT 49) in the U.S. State of Montana is a route running in a northerly direction from a junction with U.S. Route 2 in the town of East Glacier Park. The highway extends approximately to an intersection with U.S. Route 89 at a location known as Kiowa. Highway 49 is near the southeastern corner of Glacier National Park, and is heavily used by tourists during the summer months. A spur road heading west from Montana 49 four miles (6 km) north of East Glacier provides access to the Two Medicine area of the park.
The Murg valley is one of the largest and deepest valleys in the Black Forest (up to over 700 metres deep) and generally runs in a northerly direction. It separates the precipitation-rich main crest of the Northern Black Forest, including the Hornisgrinde (1,164 m), to the west, from the densely forested bunter sandstone plateaux in the east. The Murg originates from 2 large headstreams in the western part of the municipality of Baiersbronn. Below the Schliffkopf at about , the main headstream of the Right Murg (Rechtmurg) is formed by the Schurbach stream and Tränkenteich pond, a little above the Murgursprung ("Murg Source").
State Route 193 runs north The southern terminus of SR 193 is located at the western terminus of the Fort Morgan ferry in eastern Dauphin Island. From this point, the route travels in a westerly direction before turning to the north off the island across the Gordon Persons Bridge spanning the Mississippi Sound. From this point, the route travels across Mon Louis Island, over Fowl River, and continues onward in a northerly direction, where it has a full cloverleaf interchange with I-10 at exit 17 before reaching its northern terminus at US 90 in Tillmans Corner.
The McRae River is a river in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The river rises in the Whately Range and flows in a northerly direction through the Prince Regent National Park until it discharges into the Glenelg River. It was first located on 14 May 1865 by a party led by government Assistant Surveyor James Cowle, during an exploration expedition from Camden Harbour to the south of the Glenelg River. It was named after one of the exploration party, Camden Harbour Pastoral Association member Alexander Joseph McRae, who had sailed from Melbourne to settle the region.
The upper Enz, however, has the wider valley and maintains its direction of flow. The upper reaches of Nagold run predominantly east and southeast as far as the town of Nagold, where it swings almost completely around, to head to Pforzheim, mainly in a northerly direction. The Nagold has formed numerous loops and 'meander hills' (Umlaufberge), for example at Pfrondorf (Bettenberg), in Wildberg, at Hof Waldeck (Schlossberg hill and Waldeck Castle), near Tannenberg (Rudersberg, with hillfort) and in Weißenstein. The source of the Nagold is a spring called the Nagoldursprung at Urnagold in the municipality of Seewald, on the territory of Besenfeld.
The Beat Bank Branch Canal was an abortive canal near Manchester, England. It was to leave the Stockport Branch Canal in South Reddish and it was to be lock free but with a short tunnel. It was to follow the contour above the right bank of the River Tame, firstly in a northerly direction and then easterly as it followed the meandering course of the river upstream. It was to terminate at or near to the coalmining hamlet of Beat Bank in Denton where it could also secure supplies of coal from nearby mines at Haughton Green.
The town landscape has changed a little from the Edwardian era – with the "Gunn Street Extension" pushing the main road from the Top Pub on Gunn Street straight through what used to be railway land toward Bruce Street and the centre of the town. Giles Corner (formerly Giles' Corner) (Postcode 5411) is the name of the intersection of Main North Road (now called Horrocks Highway) and the Barrier Highway, halfway between the towns of Tarlee and Rhynie. The Barrier Highway branches off from Horrocks Highway at this location, heading north towards Riverton, Burra and eventually Broken Hill. Horrocks Highway continues in a northerly direction, on to the towns of Rhynie, Auburn and Clare. There is also an unsealed back road starting just north of the junction which heads west and ends at the road between Balaklava and Owen, approximately 20 kilometres away.
Christopher Williams (1918) Mametz Wood was the objective of the 38th (Welsh) Division during the First Battle of the Somme. The attack was made in a northerly direction over a ridge, focussing on the German positions in the wood, between 7 July and 12 July 1916. On 7 July the men formed the first wave intending to take the wood in a matter of hours. However, strong fortification, machineguns and shelling killed and injured over 400 soldiers before they reached the wood. Further attacks by the 17th Division on 8 July failed to improve the position.
The Frew River is an ephemeral river in the Northern Territory of Australia. The headwaters of the river are located in the Davenport Range near the southern boundary of the Iytwelepenty / Davenport Range National Park and the river flows in a northerly direction through the park passing through a series of waterholes including; Junction Waterhole, Old Police Station Waterhole, Burrabelly Waterhole, Rooney Waterhole and Woodenjerrie Waterhole and eventually discharges in Walkabout Creek. The only tributaries to the creek are Lennee Creek and Mia Mia Creek. Epenarra Station has of river frontage including some seasonal lagoons along Frew River.
The headwaters rise east of Shadforth Hills and flows in a northerly direction through mostly uninhabited country, past the small community of Gamardi before discharging into Boucaut Bay. The catchment occupies an area of and is situated between the Liverpool River catchment to the west, the Goyder River catchment to the east and the Roper River catchment to the south. It has a mean annual outflow of , The Cadell and Blyth Floodplains are located at the lower reaches of the river and occupy an area of . The estuary formed at the river mouth is tidal in nature and in near pristine condition.
By 09h00, A and B Companies had regrouped and were ready to commence the main assault on Cassinga. Instead of attacking eastwards as initially planned, the two companies attacked the base in a northerly direction. Initially, they encountered very little resistance, though this changed dramatically once the paratroopers neared the centre of the base. Heavy sniper fire was directed at the paratroopers from a number of trees inside the base, they were subjected to B-10 recoilless rifle fire, and some SWAPO guerrillas had regrouped, using houses as cover from which to fire at the paratroopers, critically wounding two paratroopers.
The United States Hydrographic Office, South America Pilot (1916) states: :Fallos Channel has an average breadth of from 1½ to 2 miles, is deep and clear of rocks, and abounds in anchorages for small vessels. :From The Knick, where Ladrillero Channel terminates, Fallos Channel trends in a northerly direction for 65 miles, where it joins the Gulf of Penas. It has the great disadvantage of having no anchorage for large vessels near the entrance from that gulf, in case of meeting a northwest gale. :The esteros of Don Jose, Artigas, Sofia, Corto, and Triple have their mouths in Fallog Channel.
The Hotham River at Pumphreys Bridge, between Narrogin and Wandering The Hotham River is one of the major tributaries of the Murray River in Western Australia. It is about long with its upper reaches being the Hotham River North, which begins in the Dutarning Range and joins the Hotham at its crossing of the Great Southern Highway near Popanyinning. A long southern tributary, Hotham River South begins near Cuballing and flows generally northerly before joining the Hotham near Yornaning. From Narrogin, the merged river flows in a northerly direction through the Cuballing district and Dryandra Woodland before heading west through Wandering and Boddington.
Investigators with the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), the predecessor of the NTSB, determined from the evidence at the site and the survivors' testimony that the aircraft had first struck the tops of three small pine trees while the aircraft was flying in a northerly direction. The lowest tree was struck at an elevation of above sea level. Flight 21 then apparently continued across a small valley in the same direction in level flight for about before the right wing tip struck the top of a poplar and the aircraft crashed into a thick grove of pine trees. Captain Rickenbacker testified that he first felt a slight bump.
Avalonian terranes that constitute Avalonia are the following modern-day regions: northern France, Belgium (the Ardennes), England, Wales, southeastern Ireland, eastern Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, southern New Brunswick and some coastal parts of New England. The basement consisted of Late Precambrian age arc rocks, and is believed to come from the margin of Gondwana, sometime in the Early Ordovician. Avalonia rifted from Gondwana, during the onset of igneous activity in the Ardennes, Wales, and SE Ireland that consumed the Tornquist Sea oceanic crust. It drifted in a northerly direction and probably collided with Baltica in the Late Ordovician, and then with Laurentia in the Late Devonian.
The river passes under the A 149 road and skirts around the north of the village Castle Rising, where it passes under Babingley Bridge. In the fields on the other side of the bridge once was the village of Babingley, now lost, although the remains of the church of St Felix can still be found. The river now crosses into fen and marshland and passes under the disused railway bed of the line that runs from King’s Lynn to Wolferton and once carried many members of the royal family on their way to Sandringham. The river now meanders in a northerly direction towards The Wash.
After war broke out, in September 1939, the group was renamed, becoming the "Austrian Freedom Movement" ("Österreichische Freiheitsbewegung"). The River Effra ran alongside the current Elder Road, in a northerly direction, and was prone to flooding. The area was over a mile from the nearest parish church (at St Leonard, Streatham), so St. Luke's was provided under the Waterloo church scheme and completed in 1825. The houses in the parish at that period consisted largely of substantial villas along the main roads and more humble cottages mainly situated between Knights Hill and the High Street. The South Metropolitan Cemetery was laid out in 1837 to provide burial facilities largely for the population of crowded areas that were closer to the centre of London.
In the 1st millennium BC the land close to the confluence of the Whitelake River River Brue was the site of the Meare Pool which was located on low-lying levels just north of Meare. Its precise boundaries varied according to season, and, over the longer term, as efforts were made to drain the area. In early times the Meare Pool collected the waters of the rivers Brue and Sheppey, and discharged in a northerly direction into the Lower River Axe. In the later years of the 12th century the Abbey diverted the Brue to flow westwards, perhaps largely through natural channels, from Meare Pool to join the river Parrett.
After curving back to the north-northwest, the highway leaves the community. It winds its way in a northerly direction and intersects the western terminus of CR 55\. After a crossing of Sweetwater Creek is an intersection with the eastern terminus of CR 16\. The highway travels through Wayne and then intersects the western terminus of CR 30\. US 43 continues its winding path through rural areas of the county. It intersects the southern terminus of CR 47\. The highway has an intersection with the southern terminus of CR 33, before entering Linden. In the southern part of the city is a second intersection with SR 69\.
SR 708 begins at its junction with SR 235 in Washington Township, at the northwestern corner of the Russells Point Honda manufacturing plant. SR 708 heads east from that intersection, brushing the northern portion of the production facility's property, then following a sweeping curve to the northeast, amidst which the highway intersects Roughton Road. Now traveling in a northerly direction, the highway meets World Class Drive, which forms the northerly leg of the intersection between SR 235 and SR 708, and virtually acts as a loop that comes back around to meet SR 708. North of there, SR 708 curves to the northeast, and enters into Russells Point.
The headwaters of the river rise on the Barkly Tableland and flow in a northerly direction across mostly uninhabited plains, crossing Highway 1 then past the Seven Emu homestead before eventually discharging into the Gulf of Carpentaria approximately east of Borroloola. The estuary at the river mouth occupies an area of and is in near pristine condition. It is river dominated in nature with a wave dominated delta and has an area of covered with mangroves. The drainage basin occupies an area of and is wedged between the catchment areas for McArthur River to the west and Calvert River to the east and the Barkly to the south.
Singhbhum is drained by three river systems - Subarnarekha, Baitarani and Brahmani. The watersheds of these three systems originate near Gamharia in the Kolhan and radiate north-west, south-west and east respectively from their common, centre. These watersheds divide the Subarnarekha and its feeders from the Baitarani and its tributaries, and the latter again from the South Karo and Deo rivers, which feed the Brahmani through the South Koel. The tunnel on the South Eastern Railway divides the Subarnarekha and Brahmani systems, and at this point the watershed leaves the Kolhan, continuing in a northerly direction through Porahat and finally merging in the Ranchi plateau between the Bicha and Tatkora hills.
Lake Conococha, at an altitude of 4,050 m above sea level and at , is considered the headwaters of the Santa River. Lake Conococha itself is fed by small streams from the Cordillera Negra in the west and the snowcapped Cordillera Blanca in the east. The main tributary of the lake is Tuco River which has its source at Lake Tuco () about 5,000 m above sea level at one of the glacier tongues of mount Tuco. The Santa River emerges from Lake Conococha and for 200 km runs in a northerly direction between the Cordillera Negra in the west and the Cordillera Blanca in the east, forming the fertile Callejón de Huaylas.

The Nimrod Glacier is a major glacier about 135 km (85 mi) long, flowing from the polar plateau in a northerly direction through the Transantarctic Mountains between the Geologists and Miller Ranges, then northeasterly between the Churchill Mountains and Queen Elizabeth Range, and finally spilling into Shackleton Inlet and the Ross Ice Shelf between Capes Wilson and Lyttelton. It was photographed from the air by USN Operation Highjump, 1946–47. The name, given by US-ACAN, is in association with Shackleton Inlet and is for the Nimrod, the ship of the British Antarctic Expedition (1907–09) under Ernest Shackleton.
147 Meanwhile, at 06:00 on 8 November the 4th Light Horse Brigade horses were watered at the Sheria water tower and rations and forage issued. Orders were received at 07:30 for the brigade to advance at 09:00 in a northerly direction up the Wadi Sudeh. After briefly halting at 13:00 they reached Huj at 17:30, while a regimental escort sent back for the rations wagons arrived at 02:00 on 9 November. The pursuit by the Anzac and Australian Mounted Divisions north across the southern Palestine maritime plain, eventually ended some north, after the Ottoman line of defense had been broken at Sheria.
The River Leine flows from Friedland via Göttingen and Northeim to Einbeck through the Leine trough (Leine-Ilm Basin), an important north-south orientated geological rift valley. On the hilltops along the valley of the Leine there are many castles that controlled the north-south road network in the valley during the Middle Ages and could also block it entirely. In the southeastern part of the Leine Uplands, east of the valley, is the plateau of the Göttingen-Northeim Forest which is founded on Bunter sandstone and Muschelkalk. The western edge of the forest (in a northerly direction) reaches from Friedland via Göttingen and Nörten-Hardenberg to Northeim.
The river rises in the Lusatian Highlands (Upper Lusatia) about south of the village Kindisch in the borough of Elstra on the eastern flank of the high Kuppe, a subpeak of the Hochstein. From here the Black Elster flows initially in a northerly direction through Elstra, Kamenz, Milstrich and Wittichenau; from Hoyerswerda it flows in westwards to Elsterheide. Further downstream, after , it crosses the Saxon-Brandenburg border and flows through Senftenberg, Ruhland and Lauchhammer to Elsterwerda. From here it heads in a northwesterly direction through Bad Liebenwerda, Herzberg and Jessen before emptying into the Elbe in the municipality of Elster (Elbe) (river kilometre 198.5).
Comprising a mix of anabranches from source to mouth, the Belyando River and the Belyando River (Western Branch) rise below Mount Narounyah in the Drummond Range, part of the Great Dividing Range in the area southeast of . The river flows generally in a northerly direction, joined by twenty-nine tributaries including the Carmichael River. The Belyando River flows through a series of waterholes and lagoons including Grays Lagoon, Bakoolama Waterhole, Ten Mile Waterhole, Boadles Waterhole, Georges Waterhole, Broadna Waterhole, Alinya Waterhole, Sandy Camp Waterhole, Bygana Waterhole, Dunjarrobina Waterhole and Yarmina Waterhole. The river reaches its confluence with the Suttor River before flowing into Lake Dalrymple and joining the Burdekin River.
Playgreen Lake in Manitoba The Nelson River flows into Playgreen Lake from Lake Winnipeg then flows from two channels into Cross Lake. The east channel and the Jack River flow from the southeast portion of the lake into Little Playgreen Lake then the Nelson east channel continues in a northerly direction passing through Pipestone Lake on its way to Cross Lake. The west channel flows out of the north ends of Playgreen Lake, Kiskittogisu Lake and Kiskitto Lake into Cross Lake at the Manitoba Hydro's Jenpeg Generating Station and Dam. From Cross Lake it flows through Sipiwesk Lake, Split Lake and Stephens Lake on its way to the Hudson Bay.
Maxey-sur-Meuse is positioned in the north-west of the Vosges département, on the departmental frontier with the Meuse département. Neufchâteau is away to the south. To the north east are Toul (34 kilometres / 21 miles) and Nancy (51 kilometres / 33 miles). Maxey is across the river from a road junction where traffic bound for Commercy continues in a northerly direction (RD964) while traffic for Bar-le-Duc turns to the north-west (RD966) The (here relatively small) Meuse River flows through Maxey where it is joined by the waters from the Vair River and three smaller streams, the Roises, the Vau and the Blanchonrupt.
Jeffrey Street or Jeffreys Street is a street located in Kirribilli, famous for being one of the most popular vantage points for views of the city skyline of Sydney, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. The street is located on the Lower North Shore of Sydney Harbour, directly across the harbour from Circular Quay and is a popular destination for tourists, particularly on Australia Day and New Year's Eve. The street leads uphill from the harbour in a northerly direction to the small shopping village of Kirribilli. For many years the area was called the North Shore and the original land grant changed hands a number of times.
The headwaters of the river rise to the west of the Ashton Range and flows in a northerly direction through the Drysdale River National Park past the Seppelt Range, joined by one minor tributary before reaching its river mouth and emptying into Koolama Bay and the Timor Sea, approximately east of . The river descends over its course; including a descent over the dual drop waterfall of King George Falls, approximately upriver from the river mouth. The falls are located at an elevation of above sea level. The recorded height of the waterfall varies widely, with some sources claiming the descent is in the range of .
Highway 56 wends its way north through the Bull River valley toward Bull Lake. (Aerial photograph, 2013) Highway 56 in the U.S. State of Montana is a route running in a northerly direction from an intersection with Montana Highway 200 between Noxon and Heron at an area locally known as "Bull River Junction", about east of the Idaho state line. The highway extends approximately to a northern terminus at an intersection with U.S. Route 2, about east of the town of Troy. The highway passes through a forested, mountainous landscape, and travels along the eastern shore of Bull Lake; the Cabinet Mountains are to the east.
The Bulimba Creek catchment has it sources in the low plateaus and marshy parts of the suburbs of and Runcorn (west catchment) and Kuraby (east catchment) in the south of Brisbane. It then flows in a northerly direction through the suburbs of Mansfield, Mackenzie, Carindale, Murarrie and Lytton, before meeting the Brisbane River via the Aquarium Passage along the Lytton Reach. The creek has six tributaries: Mimosa Creek, Spring Creek, Salvin Creek, Phillips Creek, Tingalpa Creek and Lindum Creek. There are also a number of significant wetlands systems in the catchment, including Runcorn Wetlands in the upper catchment and Numgubbah, Tingalpa, Doboy and Lindum Wetlands in the lower catchment.
The route's southern end is in the town of Paradise in the southeast corner of the Cache Valley. Starting in the center of the town at the intersection of Bridger Boulevard and 9100 South, the route travels west for two blocks before turning north along 200 West. The route leaves Paradise, continuing in a northerly direction along the eastern part of the valley, passing through the city of Hyrum as 800 West, through the city of Nibley as Nibley Road, before merging with US-89/US-91 as Main Street just south of the center of Logan, the county seat and largest city in Cache County.
The size of the Macal River catchment basin is approximately 1492 square kilometers. The Macal River rises in a rugged portion of the Maya Mountains and flows in a northerly direction where it joins with the Mopan River to form the Belize River. Lying to the east of the Macal River Basin is the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, the premier sanctuary established specifically for conservation of the jaguar. Due to the steep terrain of the headwaters region and the high rainfall of the upper Macal Basin, the Macal River is subject to rapid stage height rise, contributing significantly to the downstream flooding of the Belize River.
The source region of the Sandbach lies near the Black Forest High Road (B500) between Hundseck and Unterstmatt on the Hochkopf at a height of about . The Sandbach, in its upper reaches called the "Bühlot", flows steeply downhill in a northerly direction, meeting several small streams such as the „Rotwässerle. At its confluence with Wiedenbach, which joins from the direction of Sand and has a tributary, the Gertelbach on which are the Gertelbach Falls beloved of hikers, the Sandbach changes its direction to the northwest. Here it runs through the municipality of Bühlertal, where it is joined from the left by the streams of Grünebächle and Eichwaldbächle and, from the right, by the Liehenbach and other small brooks.
Travelling in a northerly direction from the junction of Marlpit Lane and Hellesdon Road close to the former Hellesdon railway station the way soon crosses the tiny River Tud at Costessey. The tree-lined River Wensum can be seen to the east, as the path passes through the open country side of the Wensum Valley. The river is crossed by means of an A-frame bridge (only three in Norfolk) before arriving at Drayton.'A Frame bridge' Retrieved 21 November 2008 The original Drayton railway station is now an industrial estate and the path follows a gravel path before crossing a minor road and entering a deep cutting to cross the busy A1067 road close to Taverham.
The source of the Hogsmill River is a chalk spring just outside Bourne Hall Park in Ewell, Surrey. It flows in a northerly direction between Kingston Road and the sports field beside the railway track. The river passes the sites of the Lower and Upper Mills, and Ewell Court Mills , where gunpowder was produced in the 18th and 19th centuries, and gently bends to the left before flowing under the Mole Valley railway line between and at the start of the Hogsmill Open Space which follows the river until the borough boundary with Kingston. The river continues its course in green space between the residential areas of Ewell Court and West Ewell and joins the Green Lanes Stream.
It runs for about eight miles (13 km) in a northerly direction through mostly rural areas in the towns of Underhill and Westford before finally entering the town of Cambridge. After entering Cambridge town, VT 15 meets the eastern end of VT 104 then turns eastward and begins following the path of the Lamoille River on its south bank. Half a mile later, VT 15 enters the village of Cambridge then crosses the Lamoille River to follow the north bank instead. VT 15 continues eastward for another two miles (3 km) to the village of Jeffersonville, crossing the Lamoille River again and intersecting with VT 108 in the center of the village.
Source of the Elz The Elz rises north of Furtwangen in the area of the Brend and the Rohrhardsberg mountains (between the Furtwänglehof and the Kolmenhof) not far from the source of the Breg which is hydrographically the source of the Danube. In its upper reaches the Elz flows in a northerly direction, initially through a high valley with pasture land, bog and ice age glacial landforms. Then after a steep drop at the little Elz Falls, it continues through a deeply incised, wooded and sparsely populated V-shaped valley. High valley above the V-shaped valley of the Elz (The Elzhofbächle on the Rohrhardsberg) In the Oberprechtal valley it bends sharply towards the southwest.
Henry Hudson Parkway in Upper Manhattan Riverdale The Henry Hudson Parkway begins in Hell's Kitchen at 57th Street on the northbound side and 56th on the southbound side, which also serves as the north end of the West Side Highway and the last remaining section of the West Side Highway's predecessor, the Miller Highway. The junction is numbered as exit 8, continuing the numbering scheme used on the West Side Highway. It heads northward along the west side of Manhattan, connecting to West 79th Street with a large interchange and to other surface streets with more intermittent exits along the way. The parkway continues in a northerly direction, running almost parallel to Riverside Drive north of West 158th Street.
Well Dale near Huggate The path heads west out of North Dalton climbing all the time to pass in a northerly direction through Blanch Farm and along the farm road to get to a minor road. The way heads north-west onto the Hawold Bridle Road and west on another green track along Huggate Heads. Near Cobdale farm the path meets the Wolds Way and heads south along it and the two ways climb steeply up onto Cow Moor above Millington Dale before making a steep descent into and out of Sylvan Dale onto the Becks. At Warren Farm the two paths separate and the Minster Way heads west down into Millington via Millington Bottom.
They didn't use their single man boats, opting to try to go around the lead, or wait until the gap narrowed. The main cause of this open water phenomenon is the Transpolar Drift Stream, a major force in the ocean, which makes the ice break up and drift away, helped by the ever blowing wind. Even when the skiers rested for a few days, their position changed by several kilometres a day, usually in a northerly direction. The daily routine consisted of a steady 10- to 12-hour trek, followed by setting up their single twelve-man tent, switching on their ELT, having a meal of dried food, and spending a few minutes on the shortwave radio (80 m).
Even today, the Großer Bärenkopf can only be reached as part of a serious high mountain tour with appropriate equipment and experience of glaciers. The present normal route was first used in 1871 and has proved to be the easiest climb. Possible bases for the tour include the Heinrich Schwaiger Haus at 2,802 metres, the Mooserbodens above it and to the east, or the Oberwalder Hut (2,973 m), northwest and above Franz Josefs Höhe. From the Oberwalder Hut the route runs in a northerly direction as a serious glacier trail across the Wasserfallwinkel and the Bockkarkees to the Keilscharte col, then heads east along the west arête to the summit of the Großer Bärenkopf.
The River Lydden is a tributary of the River Stour that flows through Blackmore Vale in Dorset, England. Its headwaters rise at the foot of the scarp slope of the Dorset Downs near Buckland Newton. These headwaters streams coalesce south of Pulham, from where the river flows north-east to it confluence with the Wonston Brook. Continuing in a northerly direction it passes King’s Stag, to Twoford bridge where it is crossed by the A357 between Lydlinch and Bagber, beyond which it meets its main tributary the Caundle Brook. The lower Lydden then flows beneath the listed Bagber Bridge where it is crossed by a minor road, to join the Stour near King’s Mill south west of Marnhull.
Like other strategic routes in Hong Kong, Route 9 consists of several sections. The section from Tsuen Wan to Sha Tin is derived from the former Route 5, which includes the Shing Mun Tunnels and most of the Tai Po Road - Sha Tin Section. This section was opened in 1990. Route 9 then runs in a northerly direction via the remaining portion of Tai Po Road - Sha Tin until the Racecourse Interchange, where it continues via the 12.3 km-long Tolo Highway (opened in 1985) to Lam Kam Road Interchange, to the north of Tai Po. The widening of Tolo Highway between Ma Liu Shui and Tai Po to a dual 3-lane motorway was completed in 2003.
Location of the Schipdonk Canal in Belgium The Schipdonk Canal (French: Canal de Schipdonk or Dérivation de la Lys; Dutch: Schipdonkkanaal or Afleidingskanaal van de Leie) is a canal in the Belgian provinces of East Flanders and West Flanders. With a length of , the canal runs in a northerly direction from Deinze, turning to a north-western direction roughly halfway along its route to the North Sea with which it meets on the coast near to Heist. It crosses both the Gent-Bruges Canal and for its final runs parallel with the Leopold Canal as it approaches the north Belgian coast. For most of this final section the two canals are separated only by a dyke.
Located at the edge of the 43rd parallel, at about 400 meters above sea level, the village of Lugliano dominates the Serchio valley, the valley of the Lima stream, and the two valleys of the streams Buliesima and Pizzorne. Behind it are the hills of Pizzorne, which separate it from the plain of Lucca. The village enjoys an excellent view over the Garfagnana, featuring the appendages of the Apuan Alps, the Pania della Croce and the Pania Secca, and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, particularly Mount Giovo and the Rondinaio. In a northerly direction, the view sweeps along the valley that goes from Bagni di Lucca up towards Abetone following the course of the Lima stream.
Lower Congo constitutes the 'lower' parts of the great river; that is the section of the river from the river mouth at the Atlantic coast to the twin capitals of Brazzaville in the Republic of the Congo and Kinshasa in the DR Congo. In this section of the river there are two significant tributaries to the great Congo River, both on the left or south side. The Kwilu River originates in the hills near the Angolan border and enters the Congo some 100 km upstream from Matadi. The other being the Inkisi River, that flows in a northerly direction from the Uíge Province in Angola to the confluence with the Congo at Zongo some 80 km downstream from the twin capitals.
In the fall of 1864 the Union Army camped along the creek, and for several decades that prong of Clear Creek was known as Shermantown Branch. Flowing in a northeasterly meander through the eastern side of the Midtown neighborhood, it joined the eastern prong of the creek in the vicinity of the present Grady High School stadium. From there the creek flowed in a northerly direction and is joined by several smaller tributaries, including one which originated in at least two springs, one in the vicinity of the Federal Reserve and another northeast of the intersection of Eighth and Juniper Streets. Their water combined to form a branch that was large enough to be dammed in 1894 to create Piedmont Park’s Clara Meer.
North of this exit lay the same time built Technical City Hall, which has since been demolished, however, to reconstruct parts of Frankfurt's old town at this point. Beyond the station, the underground runs under the cathedral square and runs through the Kannengießergasse to the Fahrgasse, which crosses it and then swings in a wide arc under two blocks and the Dominican monastery in a northerly direction. In the course of the wide Kurt Schumacher Street she finally reaches the Konstablerwache. This large, named after a former police station on the square Zeil is one of the most important points of the Frankfurt shopping city and due to its poor urban planning design for decades has been the subject of numerous new planning.
Cross Lake north of Playgreen Lake The Nelson River flows into Playgreen Lake from Lake Winnipeg then flows from two channels into Cross Lake. The east channel and the Jack River flow from the southeast portion of the lake into Little Playgreen Lake then the Nelson east channel continues in a northerly direction passing through Pipestone Lake on its way to Cross Lake. The Echimamish River on this section leads to the Hayes River and York Factory on the Hudson Bay part of early Canadian canoe routes important during the North American fur trade. The west channel flows out of the north ends of Playgreen Lake, Kiskittogisu Lake and Kiskitto Lake into Cross Lake at the Manitoba Hydro's Jenpeg Generating Station and Dam.
Once joined, the river flows in a northerly direction, past Fletland Mill, a former grain mill which was built in 1759, and Kate's Bridge weir, where a modern bridge carries the A15 road over it. This bypasses a single-arched bridge built in the late 1700s, which has a female head carved on the keystone of the western face, presumed to be the Kate after whom the bridge is named. Beyond the bridges, the river becomes a typical Fens high level carrier, embanked on both sides and partially straightened, with counter drains on both sides of the channel, to collect seepage through the banks, as the normal water levels are higher than the surrounding land. At Tongue End the waters of the Bourne Eau join.
This caused confusion among the four squadrons furthest to the left of the regiment, which fell into disorder and lost three standards. Simultaneously, the Saxon squadrons furthest to the left, along with the Lithuanian cavalry, almost immediately collapsed and routed at the impact of the charge. They were briskly pursued by the Småland Regiment and the other half of the Uppland Regiment, under Nieroth, which had not been hit in the flank. Some Lithuanians at the end of the wing, whose banners extended further than the width of the Swedish line, had initially proceeded with the flanking manoeuvre; they were soon driven off as some squadrons of the Småland Regiment turned their attention towards them, pursuing and harassing them for in a northerly direction.
The place is located in the Idlib Governorate on the eponymous ridge, the Jebel Barischa, in the central area of the northern Syrian limestone massif. The road in a northerly direction after one kilometer at the junction towards Dahis over and reached after four kilometers at an intersection, the small village of Ras al-Hosn, after two more kilometers, the early Byzantine neighboring towns Baqirha and Deir Qeita. The area is located in the Appalachian Mountains of Southwestern Virginia east of Va 16, north of Beartown Wilderness and about 7 miles southeast of Tazewell, Virginia. The Appalachian Trail passes through the area for 4.7 miles. From Forest Road 222, it goes in a northerly direction to Chestnut Ridge, then follows the ridge along the northeast side of the area to reach the Chestnut Knob shelter on the northern side The Chestnut Knob shelter was a forest warden cabin before 1994 when the Forest Service and a group of volunteers converted it to a fully enclosed shelter. An intermittent water supply is 0.2 miles away. Vehicle access from the west is gained by taking Va 16 to Forest Road 222.
The river rises just south of the Newry Station homestead then flows in a northerly direction crossing the Victoria Highway and then flowing through the Keep River National Park and veering westward across the border into Western Australia then veering east back into the Northern Territory. It then continues north before discharging into the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf and the Timor Sea. The river catchment occupies an area of and is wedged between the Ord River catchment to the west and the Victoria River catchment to the east. The river has a mean annual outflow of , Important wetlands are found in the lower reaches of the river with forming suitable habitat for waterfowl breeding colonies and roosting sites for migratory shorebirds.
The southern terminus of SR 339 at the Vashon Heights ferry terminal The entire route of SR 339 was in Puget Sound and was served by the MV Skagit. The passenger-only ferry started out from the Vashon Heights ferry terminal on Vashon Island and headed in a northerly direction, passing Blake Island State Park on the west. It briefly sailed into Kitsap County before the route turned east and passed the Alki Point Light and Alki Point before entering Elliott Bay, and docking at WSF's Pier 50, just south of Colman Dock, where the rest of the WSF operated ferries dock in Seattle. Traveling at a top speed of , the MV Skagit made the crossing in about 35 minutes.
I-10/US 69/US 96/US 287 continue in a northerly direction through Beaumont for several miles. Just after the intersection with US 90, I-10 splits from the multiplex and resumes its easterly course, leaving US 69, US 96, and US 287 heading northwest through Beaumont. US 69 north of I-10 is also known officially known as Eastex Freeway, and is an official evacuation route, just as Interstate 69/US 59 heading north from Houston is known as Eastex Freeway as well. In Lumberton, US 96 splits from US 69 and US 287 and heads northeast towards Jasper, while US 69 and US 287 continue on a northwest path towards Woodville. In Woodville, US 69 splits from US 287 a few blocks north of US 190.
Samuil's Fortress View of old Ohrid The lake drains an area of around 2600 km² and is fed primarily by underground springs on the eastern shore (about 50% of total inflow), with roughly 25% shares from rivers and direct precipitation. Over 20% of the lake's water comes from nearby Lake Prespa, about to the southeast and at 150 m higher altitude than Lake Ohrid. The water leaves Lake Prespa trickling through underground watercourses in the karstic landscape, where it is joined by mountain range precipitation and eventually emerges in numerous springs along the eastern shore and below the water surface of Lake Ohrid. The water leaves Lake Ohrid by evaporation (~40%) and through its only outlet, the Black Drin River, which flows in a northerly direction into Albania and thus to the Adriatic Sea.
Deer Creek is a small stream, a right tributary of Matadero Creek, originating in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains in Santa Clara County, California, United States. From its source in Los Altos Hills, the creek flows in a northerly direction for to join Matadero Creek in Palo Alto. Deer Creek begins at elevation 680 feet just north of Altamount Road and west of Taafe Road in Los Altos Hills, then flows northerly passing under Interstate 280 at the La Barranca Road underpass, where it turns west and parallels Purissima Road, crosses Arastradero Road and Deer Creek Road, before joining the Matadero Creek mainstem just south of Foothill Expressway and east of Page Mill Road. Deer Creek has also been labelled as Purisima Creek on some maps.
Like many other seasonal Indian rivers, the Mahanadi too is a combination of many mountain streams and thus its precise source is impossible to pinpoint. Jain, Pushpendra K. Agarwal, Vijay P. Singh The hills here are an extension of the Eastern Ghats and are a source of many other streams which then go on to join the Mahanadi. For the first of its course, the Mahanadi flows in a northerly direction and drains the Raipur district and touches eastern portions of Raipur city.
In 1908 the station at Wittingen West was moved to the east side of the state station in order to enable a common station to be created with the Kleinbahn Wittingen- Oebisfelde, opened in 1909, and the Kleinbahn Bismark-Gardelegen-Wittingen, later the Altmärkische Kleinbahn AG. The new route made the construction of embankments and a bridge over the state railway necessary. From 22 July 1912 the 'Salt Railway' (Salzbahn), a 7 km long branch, ran from Beedenbostel in a northerly direction via Mariaglück to Habighorst, where potash and salt works had been established in two separate locations. But by 1924 Mariaglück had become the terminus for trains on the branch. The Celle–Wittingen Light Railway had reached an agreement before 1914 to run operations jointly with the Celle-Garßen-Bergen Light Railway.
The main church The town itself has a beautiful Inn, with a Civic Center with a small archaeological museum, with the Church that is projected onto a corner square with their crafts, with their regional wines and "Pater", with its incomparable perfume mistela . All this makes Angastaco not a place for tourists to be satisfied with hasty look to continue their journey in search of new scenery. Nearby in the direction of Cafayate, the landscape resembles that of the moon, especially in the Steps of the "Glacier" and "Arrow", the conditions and light constantly changing. Finca El Carmen, rural residence, away in a northerly direction along the road to Cachi National Route 40, a fertile valley nestled between the mountains and continues with the particular characteristics of the stream of arrows.

Connexion of the Saale valley railway to long-distance rail traffic The Saale Valley Railway leaves Gemünden (Main) initially in a northerly direction on the line to Jossa, part of the old Flieden–Gemünden railway, before it branches off to the east after 1.3 km to follow the Saale Valley. It runs along the Franconian Saale from Gemünden until just short of Euerdorf, the river being almost always within view. As a result, the line often describes long curves as it runs through the mixed and pine forests of the greenbelt recreation region and out over the open countryside with good views. Beyond Euerdorf it leaves the valley floor in order to reach the higher-lying station at Bad Kissingen and the old section of line from Ebenhausen to Bad Kissingen.
A reservoir was built immediately north of the basin area. It was designed for 20 tonne barges; water supply was from the upper reaches of the East Looe River and the Crylla. When the railway line was built in 1860, the canal gradually fell into disrepair, and is shown as "disused" on 1882 Ordnance Survey maps,Ordnance Survey, 25 inch plans, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, 1882 although the short southern section to Sandplace continued in use for several years Priestley, published in 1831, described the canal: > The Liskeard and Looe Canal commences at Tarras Pill, and proceeds from > thence in a northerly direction to the parish of Liskeard terminating at > Moorswater, ] above the level of the sea. The distance which it passes over > is five miles and seven furlongs, [9.5 km] and in its course there are > twenty-five locks.
When Myrna left the Zielinski home a bit late, at about 8:40 pm, she walked the entire route to the Nixon house at an accelerated pace without encountering Victoria, who should logically have been walking in a northerly direction towards her on Wyckoff Avenue, which was virtually the only route between the two houses at the time. Myrna testified that she had arrived at the Nixon's and been told that Victoria had left for home about ten minutes earlier. In fact the Nixon home sat at the northwest corner of Wyckoff and Fardale avenues, Mahwah, approximately four-fifths of a mile from the Zielinski dwelling, also located on Wyckoff Avenue. On the evening of March 4, 1957, Victoria's walk home from her friend's house was along the two-lane blacktop Wyckoff Avenue (see trial transcript testimony of Myrna Zielinski).
After two lively Christmas parties, the 5th Medium settled down for more training in the New Year. At 0830 on 24 October 1943, Major Reiner informed the regiment of their anticipated movement towards a theater of action. The 23rd Battery, along with the Regimental HQ and the Signals section entrained at Leatherhead Station, while the rest of the 7th Battery at Woking station bound for Glasgow. According to the official orders outlining the operation (Code named "Timberwolf"), it was stated that all "units will be on 12.00 notice to entrain, from 0001 21 October 1943." On the afternoon of 26 October 1943 the 5th Medium boarded the Dutch liner, Sloterdijk (or Sloterdyk) in Glasgow along with elements of the 5th Canadian Armoured Division, HQ 1st AGRA, 2nd Medium RCA, and 11th Field Regiment RCA. On the evening of the 27th, the ship set sail in its convey in a northerly direction.
The A16 motorway on the Echinghen viaduct near Boulogne-sur-Mer (Pas-de- Calais) The A16 autoroute – also known as L'Européenne and forming between Abbeville and Dunkirk a part of the larger Autoroute des estuaires – is a motorway in northern France. The motorway, which has a total length of , starts at a junction with the N104 Francilienne near Attainville in Île-de- France and ends at the Belgian frontier near Bray-Dunes, serving en route Beauvais, Amiens, Abbeville, Boulogne-sur-Mer, Calais and Dunkirk in Hauts-de- France. From its starting point near Paris, the A16 runs in a northerly direction, continues north parallel to the English Channel from Abbeville and then in an easterly direction along the North Sea coast. It is one of the two main routes between the Port of Calais/Channel Tunnel and Paris, the other being the A26 and A1 route to the east.
Great Island, near the entrance to Taiari / Chalky Inlet { "type": "ExternalData", "service": "geoshape", "ids": "Q32157316", "properties": { "fill": "#0050d0"}} The geography of Taiari / Chalky Inlet is complex, as it is for the neighbouring fiord complexes of Tamatea / Dusky Sound to the north and Rakituma / Preservation Inlet to the south. There are two main entrances to the fiord from the Tasman Sea, separated by a string of islands – the Eastern Passage, which continues in a northerly direction into the main channel of Taiari / Chalky Inlet, and the Western Passage, which is connected to the eastern and main channel via a number of passages between islands. These include Bad Passage (separating Chalky Island and Motutawaki), Return Channel (separating Motutawaki and Great Island), and North Port (separating Great Island from the South Island mainland). Islands of varying sizes are found in the sound, including those at the entrance, which separate the Eastern and Western passages.
The lower part of the river, in sharp contrast, is a meandering stream flowing over Cenozoic alluvial deposits (66 MYA-present), which together comprise the flat floor of the Central Valley. The tremendous volume of sediments that underlie the lower San Joaquin River ranges from deep, with distance to bedrock generally increasing in a northerly direction. Prior to the uplift of the California Coast Ranges, more than of sediments were deposited at the foot of the Sierras by tidal activity, and the ancestral San Joaquin and its tributaries flowed west over this alluvial plain to the sea, dumping their own sediments onto the marine deposits. Compressional forces along the boundary of the North American and Pacific Plates between 2-4 MYA resulted in the uplift of the Coast Ranges, creating an enclosed basin today known as the Central Valley and resulted in the San Joaquin's present path to the sea.
The timber structure is expressed and robust, referencing the timber woolsheds, barns and tank stands of the Tocal Homestead, yet the ingenuity of some of the College timber structures is such that commonplace structural terminology is not always applicable. Of these, the Chapel and the Edward Alan Hunt Hall, are structurally the most remarkable and innovative, and exhibit the highest level of brick and timber craftsmanship. The Chapel, is pivotal to the design of the complex; cradled within the quadrangle, and centred on the north south axis that runs through the centre of the main entrance and the quadrangle in a northerly direction to the original Tocal homestead building. The building is square in plan with battered brick walls supporting a low clerestory above which a spire that rises a further 30 metres in height, its apex surmounted by a two-metre-high () cast stainless steel cross.
Having a crew of 52 (chiefly Americans and Britons) and 103 passengers (mostly Cubans), Virginius was sighted by Tornado, and she immediately fled in a northerly direction toward Jamaica, but was chased by her, captured and taken into Santiago de Cuba. Fifty-three of the crew and passengers were condemned to death by court-martial, and between 4–8 November, were shot; among them were eight American citizens. Joseph Fry, captain of Virginius Relations between Spain and the United States became strained, and war seemed imminent, but on 8 December, the Spanish government agreed to surrender Virginius to the US on 16 December, to deliver the survivors of the crew and passengers to a US warship at Santiago, and to salute the US flag at Santiago on 25 December if it was not proved before that date that Virginius was not entitled to sail under American colors. Virginius foundered off Cape Hatteras as she was being towed to the United States by Ossipee.
The first record of Mining in Oakthorpe dates back to 1412. There are a number of active deep mines in the area, however 'Oakthorpe Mine' was closed in 1990 and was purchased by Leicestershire County Council who developed the site for ecological and recreational purposesHistory of Oakthorpe - Leicestershire County Council The mines have been extremely problematic for the residents of Oakthorpe, as underground coal fires in the 1980s resulted in numerous houses/buildings being deformed and restructured, some to the point where they became so inhabitable that they had to be demolished. This problem was a result of the sulphurous coal which lay beneath the village, which is capable of spontaneous combustion when exposed to sufficient air. Although most of the coal seams in the area were at a deep level, there was a shallow seam of coal which outcropped just South of School Street, inclining away from the street at an angle of about 20 degrees in a Northerly direction.
During the following years periodic seismic activity occurred, but due to the absence of monitoring equipment, the only reports are those recorded in the media. Then at about 09:00 (local time) on 24 June 1949, the Duraznero vent opened with mildly explosive activity, venting of gases, and rocks; with eruptive activity continuing in this manner until 6 July. During this phase a strong earthquake occurred on 1 July and again on 2 July with an estimated intensity of VIII on the Modified Mercalli Scale. Visits to the summit region revealed a crack about 1.5 km (~1 mile) long which extended in a northerly direction from the Hoyo Negro (Black Hole) and about 1 km (~0.5-mile) south to the Duraznero vent making a total length of about 2.5 km (~1.6-mile), (this crack is the subject of research and heated debate as to whether it indicates initial failure of the western flank – or not).
In the occasional light of a cloud-smeared full moon, the "Uiver" descended onto an area known as "plumpton", an enclosed area that was used for the greyhound coursing of live hares. The "Uiver" navigated a gap between trees and landed from south to north, its wheels first touching the ground short of the halfway point of the plumpton, from where it rolled in a northerly direction along the western side of the roughly oval-shaped racecourse. It came to rest towards the northern end of the racecourse opposite the Leger Stand, since demolished, but which was then a short distance south of the grandstand, since demolished but replaced. The "Uiver" became deeply bogged, and any attempt to free it had to be postponed until after dawn. From the time of Newnham's call over the radio for motorcars to go to the racecourse to illuminate a landing strip for the aircraft to the time when the "Uiver" touched down safely, just 22 minutes had elapsed.
Highway 2 begins a concurrency with Highway 18 in a northeasterly direction. Alfalfa and alfalfa mixtures, hay and fodder crops and spring wheat are the main crops in Old Post rural municipality (RM). There is a point of information at km 42. This area is known as the Wood Mountain Uplands where there are mining endeavours undertaken such as coal, bentonite, kaolinitic and ceramic clays. Paleontological digs have uncovered a 63-million-year-old sea turtle which has been excavated in the Killdeer region. Rockglen is located at km 49, and Highway 2 now extends in a northerly direction again. Rockglen (Population 450 in 2001 and 360 in 2006 ) and Assiniboia ( 2,483 in 2001 and 2,305 in 2006 ) are the two largest centers between the border and the city of Moose Jaw. This geographical region of Highway 2 from Rockglen to Assiniboia has been upgraded to a Class 3 highway as it carries approximately 800 vehicles per day counted to the south of Assiniboia.

The civic parish of Hailsham is approximately in breadth and from north to south between its extreme points. Its boundary (going in a clockwise direction) runs from its most northerly limit, near Carter's Corner Place, in a southerly direction around Magham Down, over the Herstmonceux road and crosses the low-lying farmlands, passing close to New Bridge and on across Horse Eye Level to Rickney.Hailsham Official Guide: Local Authority Publishing (2007) A271 from Hailsham, East Sussex It then turns westwards taking an irregular course over the Glynleigh Level, across the Cuckoo Trail (former railway line) to the main Eastbourne road (A22), continuing northwards along this for about three-quarters of a mile until it goes west and north again to take in some of the woodlands around Cacklebury. It runs on the west side of the A22 in a northerly direction between Hailsham and the River Cuckmere to Hempstead, where it turns east to meet the A22.
Only a few poor quality pottery shards were found from the Middle Iron Age period, in contrast to numerous fragments of Belgic pottery from the Late Iron Age (approximately 200BC-50AD). Lastly, some rare examples of quern-stone fragments imported from the Eifel region of present-day Germany suggested it might have been a high status encampment. The main period of occupation appears to have been around the middle of the 1st century BC. Kimball also speculated from analysis of a series of trenches dug in the 'triangle' of ramparts in the north-western quadrant, that there were remnants of an earlier earthwork structure (single bank and ditch) extending as an arc in a northerly direction away from the hill fort. Kimball concluded that the absence of Romano-British pottery shards strongly indicated the hill fort was generally deserted from the time of the Roman occupation of Britain in 54AD until the early medieval period.
The Sherwood Sandstone Group can be broadly divided into an upper (previously Keuper) and a lower (previously Bunter) unit, at the level of a widely recognized intra- Sherwood Sandstone disconformity perhaps within the uppermost Lower Triassic This disconformity separates two quite distinct environmental systems. This disconformity is widely assumed to be equivalent to the Hardegsen disconformity of the central European/Southern North Sea Basin, although the age of this disconformity is not constrained as it is in Europe by biostratigraphical indicators Below the intra-Sherwood Sandstone disconformity these deposits are dominated by evidence of a major braided river system, this river system responsible for transporting the sand and gravel to the Alderley area was named by Wills (1970) the Budleighensis River, after Budleigh Salterton in Devon, where its existence was first established. Within the western onshore basins there are several clues indicating that the river flowed in a northerly direction. Within the Alderley conglomerates, there are well rounded liver coloured quartzite pebbles from a source found only in the Variscan mountains of Brittany, France.
Saint-Charles Parish is defined in the Territorial Division Act as being bounded: :Beginning on the shore of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence at the southeastern angle or corner of a lot of land formerly owned by James Babin; thence following the southern line of said lot in a westerly direction to the southern line of lot 55, granted to John David, thence following the said southern line to the southwestern angle or corner of said lot 55; thence in a straight southwesterly direction till it meets the boundary line between the Weldford Parish and the Richibucto Parish, as established by the Consolidated Statutes, 1903, Chapter 2; thence in a westerly direction, following the said boundary line to a point where the Canadian National Railways line crosses the Weldford Parish line, thence in a northerly direction to the rear line running between the Saint-Charles River and the St-Louis River; thence in an easterly direction following the said rear line to the shore of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, including all islands in front thereof.
" State Road 3 became during the same year and a secondary route, SSH 3J, was also established to span from the Little Falls Dam at Long Lake to Springdale.Washington State Legislature 1937, p. 934, "SEC. 3. A primary state highway to be known as Primary State Highway No. 3, or the Inland Empire Highway, is hereby established according to description as follows: Beginning at a junction with Primary State Highway No. 2 in the vicinity east of Cle Elum, thence southeasterly by the most feasible route by way of Ellensburg, Yakima, Pasco and Wallula to Walla Walla, thence in a northerly direction by the most feasible route by way of Dayton, Dodge, Colfax, Rosalia, Spokane and Colville to the international boundary line in the vicinity of Laurier; also beginning at a junction with Primary State Highway No. 3, as herein described, in the vicinity of Dodge, thence in an easterly direction by the most feasible route by way of Pomeroy and Clarkston to the Washington-Idaho boundary line.
US 27 then reaches an interchange with I-75 and Alligator Alley which is an elaborate partial cloverleaf with flyovers from US 27, loop ramps from I-75 and no re-entry to either road. From here, the road is surrounded by Everglades-related wilderness and recreational areas before curving to the north toward South Bay, where it intersects State Road 80 and overlaps the road before curving west along the shores of Lake Okeechobee. The highway skirts the southwestern shore of Lake Okeechobee and then heads west through Lake Harbor and then Clewiston, before making a sharp turn to the north towards Moore Haven, where it crosses the Mamie Langdale Memorial Bridge over the Caloosahatchee Canal and makes another sharp turn to the west. The road then intersects with State Road 78, which it overlaps until reaching Citrus Center, then proceeds in a northerly direction toward the central Florida communities such as Lake Placid, where it intersects State Road 70. The southern terminus of the concurrency with U.S. Route 98 is also the eastern terminus of State Road 66.
The Ndwandwe army emerged victorious and expelled Sobhuza from Pongola, driving him and his followers in a northerly direction where Sobhuza later laid the foundation of the Swazi nation. By 1818, Zwide made the Ndwandwe tribe along the Mfolozi River very strong. In the same year, 1818, war broke out between the Ndwandwe tribe and the Mthethwa tribe. Shaka had been expecting this, but had summoned enough courage to reply to Zwide: “The body had two heads like the great river-snake Nkanyamba. You were just too foolish to see the other head”.Madi P M: 2000:51 Shaka immediately incorporated the Mthethwa with his own tribe and built a powerful army, but it was yet smaller than that of Ndwandwe.

The bill to incorporate the town of North Laurel was brought before the Delaware House of Representatives by Representative Samuel J. Kenney on January 29, 1915. The bill described the boundaries as such: > Beginning at the East Side of a proposed Poplar Street and the North side of > Laurel River; thence following up the North side of said river to and across > Records Mill Dam; thence up the North side of Records Mill Pond to a branch > on the North side of said Mill Pond; thence up with the said branch in a > Northerly direction to a new public road leading to Georgetown; thence in a > Westerly direction along and with the South side of said public road to the > public road leading from Laurel to Bethel; thence along and with the South- > East side of Poplar Street to the place of beginning. The bill was passed by the Delaware House of Representatives on February 26, 1915, and also established the first town commissioners, William L. Torbert, William L. James, and Robert Waller, until an election could be held. The bill then moved to the Delaware Senate and passed unanimously on March 5, 1915.
The relief of Ladysmith soon led to the evacuation of Natal by the Boer forces, who trekked northwards. As one result of the war, an addition was made to the territory of Natal, consisting of a portion of what had previously been included in the Transvaal. The districts transferred to Natal were: Vryheid, Utrecht and such portion of the district of Wakkerstroom as was encompassed by a line drawn from the north-eastern corner of Natal, east by Volksrust in a northerly direction to the summit of the Drakensberg Range, along that range, passing just north of the town of Wakkerstroom, to the headwaters of the Pongola River (now called Phongolo River), and thence following the river to the border of the Utrecht district. The districts added to Natal contained about 6,000 white inhabitants (mostly Afrikaners), and some 92,000 natives, and had an area of nearly , so that this annexation meant an addition to the white population of Natal of about one-tenth, to her native population of about one-tenth also, and to her territory of about one-fourth. An act authorizing the annexation was passed during 1902 and the territories were formally transferred to Natal in January 1903.
