Jack Benny and Blocker Blocker's big break also came in 1959, when he was cast as Eric "Hoss" Cartwright on the NBC television series Bonanza and played the role in 415 episodes until his death. Billy facing his phobia of clowns; Sperg; Billy stealing Mandy's "nerve", to become tough and mean; enchanted candies; the Tooth Fairy, who is an Old West cowboy; Mandy getting a new friend to replace Billy; Billy getting rid of his "Dinobonoid" action figures; and Irwin, whose mother is revealed to be a mummy. In the episode "Toys Will Be Toys", Pud'n's roar sounds like the T-Rex in the Jurassic Park movies.

Hoss is Lagwagon's third album, released on November 21, 1995 by Fat Wreck Chords. It was produced by Ryan Greene. This is the last Lagwagon album to feature drummer Derrick Plourde before his departure in 1996 (and subsequently his death in 2005) and guitarist Shaun Dewey before his departure in 1997. They would be replaced temporarily by Ken Stringfellow (The Posies) on guitar, and permanently by Dave Raun (RKL) on drums.

On May 13, 1972, Blocker died in Los Angeles, at age 43, of a pulmonary embolism following gall bladder surgery. The writers of Bonanza took the unusual step of referencing a major character's death in the show's storyline that autumn. Lois Weldon Bowlin (December 10, 1940 – December 8, 2019) was a Major League Baseball third baseman. Nicknamed "Hoss", he was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals as an amateur free agent in 1959, and acquired by the Kansas City Athletics in August 1961. He started two games for the A's in 1967. One of the Maroons' major stars was pitcher Charlie Sweeney, best known today as the pitcher who left Old Hoss Radbourn to shoulder the pitching burden alone with the Providence Grays of the National League. Dickinson also briefly trained flat racing horses for Robert Sangster before emigrating to Maryland in the U.S., where he had his first runner on 30 June 1987. The Henry Hoss House, constructed ca. 1859-1860, is a late Federal style rectangular-shaped two-story brick house with a step-gabled roof, five bay facade, one-story step-gabled brick ell, and one-story gabled roof brick addition that was built onto the rear ell in 1865. The 1914 barn and springhouse are now gone. The house remains in good condition with little alteration and retains a high degree of architectural integrity, both on the exterior and interior.

The Providence Grays hired veteran manager Harry Wright to guide the team in 1882 and the team seemed to improve. They held first place until September 17, but then suffered a losing streak that dropped the team into second place. After the season ended, they played a three-game postseason series against the Boston Red Caps for the "Championship of New England." David Augustus "Hoss" Amadio (April 23, 1939 – April 10, 1981) was a professional ice hockey player who played 125 games in the National Hockey League. He played with the Los Angeles Kings and Detroit Red Wings. Amadio was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. He played eight seasons for the Springfield Indians of the American Hockey League, and holds the AHL record for most goals by a defenseman in a game with five, scored against goaltender Gerry Cheevers of the Rochester Americans on February 8, 1964.

For the first time since 1981, the defending race champion driver and the team have been split. Ryan Newman, the champion driver, drove for Stewart Haas Racing in the #39 Chevrolet Impala. The team that he won with, Penske Racing, fielded the #12 Dodge Charger with David Stremme behind the wheel. The last time a driver and team split was when Buddy Baker drove for Harry Ranier Racing in winning the 1980 event, but the next year was the driver of Hoss Ellington's #1.

VPI's strongest showing came in the close loss to Ivy League powerhouse Princeton. In a game plagued by frigid weather conditions, each side scored due to a fumble by the opposition. Princeton's Logan Cunningham scored a touchdown (worth five points in 1909) in the first two minutes of play after VPI fumbled the ball away on its own 10-yard line. Princeton missed the extra point attempt. Later in the contest, a snap from center went over the Princeton quarterback's head, and Tech’s Hoss Hodgson returned the lost fumble 50 yards for a touchdown.

In the early 1990s Throwaways, together with label mates, Spiderbait and Guttersnipes, organised and performed at the Tell 'em It's Healthy series of concerts. Throwaways were regular fixtures on Melbourne's inner city alternative music scene, playing at venues such as The Tote, The Punters Club, The Great Britain Hotel and the Richmond Club. Uncontrollable played several shows in the desert, Los Angeles and Bay areas, most notably opening for Queens Of The Stone Age at the LA Forum on Halloween night. The Washingtonian movement (Washingtonians, Washingtonian Temperance Society or Washingtonian Total Abstinence Society) was a 19th-century temperance fellowship founded on Thursday, April 2, 1840 by six alcoholics (William Mitchell, David Hoss, Charles Anderson, George Steer, Bill M'Curdy, and Tom Campbell) at Chase's Tavern on Liberty Street in Baltimore, Maryland. The idea was that by relying on each other, sharing their alcoholic experiences and creating an atmosphere of conviviality, they could keep each other sober. Total abstinence from alcohol (teetotalism) was their goal. The group taught sobriety and preceded Alcoholics Anonymous by almost a century.

Walter Ring "Walt" Nielsen (February 4, 1917 – September 22, 2006) was an American football fullback who played for the National Football League's (NFL) New York Giants during the 1940 season. A native of Redondo Beach, California, Nielsen attracted interest from the Arizona Wildcats and USC Trojans college football teams. Because he believed the Arizona environment would be better for his asthma, he spurned the local Trojans and accepted an athletic scholarship to play for the Wildcats. Nielsen played for Arizona from 1936 to 1938, and gained the nickname "Hoss" early in his career.

Racing at age four in 1996, Kiridashi's wins included the King Edward Breeders' Cup Handicap, the Fair Play Stakes, in which he set a Woodbine Racetrack track record of 1:40 4/5 for a mile and a sixteenth on dirt, and Vigil Handicap. As a five-year- old, Kiridashi won the first of his two Connaught Cup Stakes on turf, his second Vigil Handicap, and the Jacques Cartier Stakes. Kiridashi finished fourth to Da Hoss in the 1996 Breeders' Cup Mile, hosted that year by Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto.

Jim Tyler did not get along with his bandmates very well due to his renewed Christian values, so he left the band in 1990 for college. Jim went on to play drums for Flaccid and HOSS, based in Fort Collins, Co. Ron Murphy originally took over drumming duties, but continuing creative differences led to his split from the band. Bass playing then went to Jack Cheeze (Paul Naginis), while Rico Martinez filled in on drums. In this line-up they recorded the track "Break" for a compilation album called "Can of Pork" (LKOUT 44).

Jackson Riggs "Warhorse" Stephenson (January 5, 1898 – November 15, 1985) was an American left fielder in Major League Baseball. Nicknamed Old Hoss, Stephenson played for the Cleveland Indians from to and the rest of his career from to with the Chicago Cubs. Benefiting from the offensive surge of the late 1920s and early 1930s, he retired with a career batting average of .336, although he was only a full-time player from 1927 to 1929 and in 1932, with injuries and platooning limiting his role for the rest of his career.

Derrick first caught the attention of the pop-punk underground in the Goleta/Santa Barbara scene in the early 1990s in the band Lagwagon (then called Section 8). That recognition expanded outside of the Southern California scene in 1992 with the release of Lagwagon's debut album "Duh" (the first release from Fat Wreck Chords) and the two follow-up albums "Trashed" and "Hoss". At that point, Radbourn, who had spent the last several weeks demanding he be paid for doing the work of two men, offered to start every game for the rest of the season (having pitched in 76 of 98 games the season before). Dead Planet is the third studio album by former Queens of the Stone Age and Kyuss bassist/vocalist Nick Oliveri and his band, Mondo Generator. The album was recorded in late 2005 and early 2006 at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 and at Donner & Blitzen studios. The album features Oliveri on bass, vocals, guitars and drums, Hoss Wright on drums, and Ben Perrier, Ben Thomas and Marc Diamond among others. The album was originally released on the UK label Mother Tongue Records and Impedance Records of Australia in 2006, under the name Dead Planet: SonicSlowMotionTrails.

In 1968, Watson began a relationship with Gallagher Guitars when he started playing their G-50 model. His first Gallagher, which Watson refers to as "Old Hoss", is on display at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1974, Gallagher created a customized G-50 line to meet Watson's preferred specifications, which bears the Doc Watson name. In 1991, Gallagher customized a personal cutaway guitar for Watson that he played until his death and which he referred to as "Donald" in honor of Gallagher guitar's second generation proprietor and builder, Don Gallagher.

A Most Wanted Man is a 2014 espionage thriller film based on the 2008 novel of the same name by John le Carré, directed by Anton Corbijn and written by Andrew Bovell. The film stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Rachel McAdams, Willem Dafoe, Robin Wright, Grigoriy Dobrygin, Daniel Brühl and Nina Hoss. It premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and competed in the main competition section of the 36th Moscow International Film Festival and the 40th Deauville American Film Festival. It was the last of Hoffman's films to be finished and premiered before his death.

Barham was the older son of Lieutenant Governor C.E. "Cap" Barham, who held the second highest statewide office from 1952 to 1956 and was like his son an attorney in Ruston, the seat of Lincoln Parish. His mother was the former Carice Helen Hilburn (1907–1965). He had a brother, Robert Ewing Barham (1940–1996), an English professor at Louisiana Tech University, from which Charles Barham received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1958. Barham had graduated in 1952 from Ruston High School and played the position of running back on the 1951 state championship football team under Coach Hoss Garrett.

In the late 1980s, General Michel Aoun was appointed President of the Council of Ministers by President Amine Gemayel, a controversial move since Aoun was a Maronite Christian and the post was by unwritten convention reserved for a Sunni Muslim. Muslim ministers refused to serve in Aoun's government, which was not recognized by Syria. Two rival administrations were formed: a military one under Aoun in East Beirut and a civilian one under Selim el-Hoss based in West Beirut; the latter gained the support of the Syrians. Aoun opposed the Syrian presence in Lebanon, citing the 1982 UN Security Council Resolution 520.

The Syrian military remained in Lebanon; after a successful campaign against the Lebanese Forces militia who had controlled Beirut port, Aoun, now with massive popular support in his East Beirut enclave, declared a "War of Liberation" against the Syrian forces. Attacking Lebanese Army that was led by Michel Aoun began on 14 March 1989. Casualties among civilians on both sides from indiscriminate artillery bombardments across the front line were numerous. Aoun initially received a greater degree of international support than el-Hoss, but this ended abruptly with the American build-up for war with Iraq over Kuwait.

For their third album, Bring on the Juice (August 1993), the group used Charlie Owen (of Beasts of Bourbon) on lap slide guitar and dobro for a track, "Lip from Lip". Silbersher was the main song writer for the group, he also released a solo album, Melonman (1994) and has collaborated with Owen as the Tendrils to issue their self-titled album (June 1995). In 1987, Sommers competed in the ARCA Permatex SuperCar Series race at Atlanta International Raceway, finishing 34th after crashing on lap 26. A year later, at the age of 20, Sommers won one-fifth of a $28.9 million jackpot in the Michigan Lottery, getting $5.8 million. As part of his winnings, Sommers received an annual payment of $290,000, which he used to purchase race cars and equipment from NASCAR team owner Hoss Ellington. In July 2006, it was reported that Perrier and Thomas had exited the band under unknown circumstances. Oliveri then renamed his band "Nick Oliveri and the Mondo Generator" and signed to Mother Tongue Records, who released the new album, Dead Planet: SonicSlowMotionTrails in the UK and Europe in September 2006. Current touring members of the band include Ian Taylor on guitar, and Hoss, former drummer who recently rejoined the band after leaving in early 2007 to join The Exies. October 2008, After a long two-month break, Nick and drummer David "Hoss" Wright began the recording of a new Mondo Generator record with longtime friend, J. Bradley Cook as engineer and co-producer. In a July 2009 Myspace blog, Oliveri announced that the next Mondo Generator record would be titled "Shooter's Bible," but removed the post a day later. This "lost album" was eventually released on Heavy Psych Sounds Records on February 28, 2020. In 2010, Nick Oliveri appeared as a singer on the track "Chains and Shackles" from guitarist Slash's self-titled solo album.

The 92.1 frequency traces its roots back to 1975 as KROZ ("K-Rose"). During its lifetime, it has aired country music ("Tyler Rose Country"), rock, and urban contemporary music formats (as "Z92.1" while keeping the KROZ calls) and included local personalities such as Hoss Huggins, Dave Mitchell, Alex Price, Joel Hardy, Mike O'Neill, Bill Davis, Paul Berry, and Mick Fulgham. Phoenix is a 2014 German drama film directed by Christian Petzold. Loosely adapted from the 1961 novel Le Retour des Cendres (English: The Return from the Ashes) by French author Hubert Monteilhet, the film stars Nina Hoss and Ronald Zehrfeld as Nelly and Johnny Lenz, respectively. Phoenix is set in Germany in the aftermath of World War II, where Nelly, a Jew who managed to survive Auschwitz concentration camp, decides to go back to her husband Johnny in Berlin. She has had to have her face reconstructed owing to a bullet wound, and her husband does not recognize her.

The Cockeyed Cowboys of Calico County is a 1970 American comedy western film by Universal Studios, directed by Anton Leader and Ranald MacDougall, and starring Dan Blocker and Nanette Fabray, with a supporting cast featuring Jim Backus, Mickey Rooney, Wally Cox, Jack Elam, Noah Beery, Jr. and Don "Red" Barry. MacDougal wrote the screenplay. The film became Blocker's final role (besides his long-running role as "Hoss Cartwright" on Bonanza) before his premature death from complications arising from gall bladder surgery in May 1972. In 2002 the grade of the event was lowered due to the change of surface as designated by the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association. In the 2014 renewal, Seek Again set a Saratoga course record in the event which was broken again in 2019 by the mare Got Stormy, who is the only mare to have won the race. Several horses who have won this event became celebrated champions. The 1993 winner Lure went on to win the Breeders' Cup Mile later in the year also the 1996 winner Da Hoss went on to win the Breeders' Cup Mile later.

Sevier, a grandson of Governor John Sevier; Parson William Gannaway Brownlow (later governor of Tennessee during Reconstruction); and Elijah Embree Hoss (who became a bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South).

In Dominik Graf's historical film Beloved Sisters he played Wilhelm von Wolzogen, a college friend of the main character Friedrich Schiller, it was selected as the German entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards, but was not nominated. In the war drama Inbetween Worlds he appears as a German soldier in Afghanistan, who falls into a crisis of conscience. The children's film Rico, Oskar und die Tieferschatten shows him as a new resident of an apartment building in which there are mysterious happenings. He also starred in Christian Petzold's postwar drama Phoenix alongside Nina Hoss, the movie received universal acclaim from critics.

Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. also mentions it in his 1857 poem, The Deacon's Masterpiece, or The Wonderful One-Hoss Shay. After the 1755 earthquake, the city was rebuilt largely according to the plans of Prime Minister Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, the 1st Marquis of Pombal; the lower town began to be known as the Baixa Pombalina (Pombaline central district). Instead of rebuilding the medieval town, Pombal decided to demolish what remained after the earthquake and rebuild the city centre in accordance with principles of modern urban design. East Germany in 1980: Barbara (Nina Hoss) is a physician who arrives for her first day at a small rural hospital near the Baltic Sea. She had been at the prestigious Charité hospital in East Berlin but, after she'd filed an "Ausreiseantrag" – an official request to leave East Germany – she had been incarcerated and transferred to the small town where she is still monitored by the Stasi. The Stasi punishes her for the hours in which they cannot find her by searching her house, strip-searching and cavity-searching her. In her new job, she works in pediatric surgery, a department led by chief physician André Reiser.

Bobby Allison and Buddy Baker endured another frustrating day as they finished over 24 laps down but still together in the top four. National 500 - Mounting frustration in several quarters spilled into an ugly weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Charlie Glotzbach appeared to win the pole in Hoss Ellington's Chevrolet but NASCAR ruled he ran with an illegal sliding restrictor plate and Glotzbach had to start 34th; he later crashed with David Pearson 46 laps into the race and the two drivers nearly came to blows exiting their cars. Harry Hyde clashed with inspectors the entire week and finally parked Buddy Baker's Dodge 228 laps in and was officially disqualified.

1970 also introduced the first 'Silver Series', which contained three silver-painted models: the Boss Hoss, the Heavy Chevy, and the King 'Kuda, which were only obtainable through a mail-in offer that included a membership to the Hot Wheels Club. These three cars featured "supercharged" engines (featuring large Roots blowers) without hoods, and open exhaust headers, after the style of drag racing cars of the era. Popular among children, these 'Silver Cars' were considered faster than the rest of the Hot Wheels lineup, because they were supposedly heavier than the other gravity models, but the accuracy of this claim has never been tested under scientific conditions.

Through much of April and May, Sweeney outshone the veteran and ace of the Grays, Radbourn. This created a lot of tension between the two, as Sweeney was seemingly stealing the limelight from the hobbled but proud "Old Hoss." On June 7, 1884, these tensions reached a zenith, when Sweeney took the box and struck out 19 Boston batters to set a major league record that would be tied a few times but not broken for 102 years, until Roger Clemens struck out 20 in a game in 1986. Sweeney was feted upon his return to Providence for days following his accomplishment, much to the bitter jealousy of Radbourn.

For live shows he recruited Mondo Generator and You Know Who lead guitarist Mike Pygmie and drummer Jeff Bowman from Mighty Jack and Unsound, a desert area punk band who played many shows with Kyuss in the early 1990s.

Charles "Old Hoss" Radbourn holds the single-season record for the most games won in a major league season; he notched 59 victories in 1884. There is a discrepancy in Radbourn's victory total in 1884. The classic MacMillan Baseball Encyclopedia, as well as other sources credit Radbourn with 60 wins (against 12 losses), other sources place his win total as high as 62. He and John Clarkson (53 wins in 1885) are the only pitchers to exceed 50 wins in a single season in the current major leagues; Guy Hecker also accomplished the feat in the American Association.

Influenced by R&B; and 1960s garage rock bands such as the Sonics and the Fabulous Wailers, the Mummies, according to promoter and musician Jorge "Real Boss Hoss" Ojeda, "created the 'budget rock' sound. They recorded their own records on cheap, damaged gear and self-released them". Edward J. Conley (July 10, 1864 – October 16, 1894) was an American professional baseball player who pitched in Major League Baseball for the Providence Grays. He pitched in eight games and had a win–loss record of 4-4 with a 2.15 earned run average in 71 innings pitched. Born in Sandwich, Massachusetts, Conley attended the College of the Holy Cross, where he was known as a skilled baseball player. In 1884, he was playing for a semi-pro team in Woonsocket, Rhode Island when he was signed by the Grays to fill in for suspended Baseball Hall of Famer Charles "Old Hoss" Radbourn.

With the exception of a few months in 1986, John Henry lived at the park from 1985 until his death in 2007, alongside other racing greats such as Forego and his fellow 1970s champion Bold Forbes, and more recent residents Cigar, voted Horse of the Decade for the 1990s, and Da Hoss, the first horse to win Breeders' Cup races in non-consecutive years. In late 2008, the champions Alysheba and Funny Cide became residents, but Alysheba died at the park in March 2009. 1994 Kentucky Derby winner, Go For Gin, became a resident of the barn in 2011, while Cigar died at the park in 2014.

Thompson had returned briefly to the WWA to drop the titles after having competed in Japan for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) for several months prior. The War of Liberation was a subconflict within the final phase of the Lebanese Civil War between 1989 and 1990, in which the Lebanese Army loyal to General and Prime Minister Michel Aoun, appointed by previous President Amine Gemayel and headquartered in eastern Beirut, fought against the western Beirut-based Syrian Armed Forces and the Lebanese Army loyal to President Elias Hrawi and Prime Minister Selim Hoss, appointed by the Taif Agreement. The conflict culminated on 13 October 1990, when the Syrian Army stormed Baabda Palace and other strongholds of Aoun, killing hundreds of Lebanese soldiers and civilians and ousting Aoun, marking the end of the Lebanese Civil War.

Lee's farm employs a black family, the Coles, who regard their new and less benevolent employer, the Ku Klux Klan member Hoss Spence, with trepidation. Not long after his appointment, Chief Lee has to investigate the death of a young boy who fell down a ravine while apparently fleeing an attack that had sexual characteristics. Hoss were an Australian hard rock band which formed in 1990 by Scott Bailey on bass guitar, Todd McNeair on drums (ex-Seminal Rats), Joel Silbersher on guitar and lead vocals (ex-God) and Michael Weber on lead guitar (ex-Seminal Rats, Slush Puppies). They released five albums, Guzzle (1990), You Get Nothing (April 1992), Bring on the Juice (August 1993), Everyday Lies (November 1995) and Do You Leave Here Often (February 1998). In 1992 McNeair was replaced by Michael Glenn on drums, who was replaced in turn in 1995 by Dean Muller. Michael Weber, who had been replaced in 1992 by Jimmy Sfestos on guitar, died in January 1999, aged 32.

Spinning World (foaled 1993 in Kentucky, United States) is a French thoroughbred racehorse who was one of the top European milers during the 1990s. After winning the 1996 Irish 2,000 Guineas at The Curragh in Ireland, the first French horse ever to do so, and the Prix Jacques Le Marois at Deauville Racecourse in France, Spinning World finished second to Da Hoss in the Breeders' Cup Mile at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Following more Group One wins in 1997 in France, he returned for the Breeders' Cup Mile at Hollywood Park Racetrack, USA, which he won while equaling the track record. Spinning World was retired to stud duty after the 1997 racing season.

The term, which was originally coined by silent film-era Western star William S. Hart, is used variously to convey either disparagement or affection. The name "horse opera" was also derived in part from the musical sequences frequently featured in these films and TV series which depicted a cowboy singing to his horse on- screen. The term "horse opera" is quite loosely defined; it does not specify a distinct subgenre of the Western (as "space opera" does with regard to the science fiction genre).

Also included is footage of the effects of the sarin gas on Quinn (Rupert Friend). Carrie and Astrid (Nina Hoss), assuming Quinn to have been killed by the gas, repeatedly watch the grisly video looking for clues to where it was recorded.

There is a gravel parking lot at Track Rock and Track Rock is also accessible via the Arkaquah Trail. The 1964 Clemson Tigers football team was an American football team that represented Clemson University in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) during the 1964 NCAA University Division football season. In its 25th season under head coach Frank Howard, the team compiled a 3–7 record (2–4 against conference opponents), finished seventh in the ACC, and was outscored by a total of 135 to 105. The team played its home games at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina. John Boyett and Ted Bunton were the team captains. The team's statistical leaders included Thomas Ray with 253 passing yards, Hal Davis with 533 rushing yards and 30 points scored (5 touchdowns), and Hoss Hostetler with 103 receiving yards.

In Holmes' humorous, yet "logical", twist, the shay endures for a hundred years (amazingly to the precise moment of the 100th anniversary of the Lisbon earthquake shock) then it "went to pieces all at once, and nothing first, — just as bubbles do when they burst". It was built in such a "logical way" that it ran for exactly one hundred years to the day. In economics, the term "one- hoss shay" is used, following the scenario in Holmes' poem, to describe a model of depreciation, in which a durable product delivers the same services throughout its lifetime before failing with zero scrap value. Mansfield formerly hosted a wide variety of events, most notably the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (formerly Craftsman Truck Series), which raced at Mansfield on Memorial Day weekend since 2004. Mansfield was the shortest track on the Camping World Truck Series schedule and was the only track in the United States to be on the Camping World Truck Series schedule as well as being Dodge Weekly Series sanctioned. This ended in 2007 when the weekly race program at the track was discontinued. In addition, Mansfield hosted two annual rounds of the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series as well as the NASCAR Camping World East Series and Whelen Modified Tour, the ASA Late Model Series, ISMA and MSA Supermodifieds and HOSS sprint cars.

Bonanza also became a worldwide success as it was broadcast in nearly 50 countries, including Canada, Brazil, Yugoslavia, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Australia, and Japan. Bonanza is set around the Ponderosa Ranch near Virginia City, Nevada and chronicles the weekly adventures of the Cartwright family, consisting of Ben Cartwright (Lorne Greene) and his three sons (each by a different wife), Adam (Pernell Roberts), Eric "Hoss" (Dan Blocker), and Joseph (Michael Landon). Veteran actor Victor Sen Yung played the ranch cook, Hop Sing. In 1964, Pernell Roberts began expressing a desire to leave the series, and so prospective replacements were introduced via Barry Coe as Little Joe's wayward maternal half-brother Clay, and Guy Williams as Ben's nephew Will Cartwright.

All natives of the Baltimore area, Dope Body, named for a quote from an online video the band enjoyed, originally came together in 2008 for a one-off show at Baltimore's Natural History museum space, while Andrew Laumann was located in San Francisco. The show was very successful, and the band continued, with Laumann soon moving back to Baltimore and the group releasing the Twenty Pound Brick cassette the next year. More live dates with the likes of Double Dagger soon followed, as well as a split LP with Brooklyn duo Orphan. 2011 was an especially productive year for Dope Body, with their debut full length Nupping coming out on Hoss Records, followed by a split record with Detroit's Child Bite.

In the United Kingdom, the film was released on Blu-ray and DVD by Soda Pictures on 31 August 2015, with the Blu-ray including a 21-minute "making-of" featurette and the film's trailer. On 26 April 2016, the film was released by The Criterion Collection for Region 1 on Blu-ray and DVD in a new 4K digital master. Both include a conversation between director Christian Petzold and actress Nina Hoss, a new interview with the film's cinematographer Hans Fromm, and a documentary featuring interviews with the cast and crew from 2013, as well as the film's original trailer, and a new English subtitle translation.

He was born in McMinnville, Tennessee, the only son of two teachers, and began constructing radio sets as a child. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1941, and served in the US Army Air Forces as a radio engineer during World War II. In 1945, he opened a store in Gallatin, Tennessee selling electrical appliances and some records. After noticing that many teenagers were seeking rhythm and blues records by musicians such as Joe Liggins and Cecil Gant, he started a mail order business for hard-to-find records, in collaboration with Nashville radio DJs Gene Nobles and Bill "Hoss" Allen. He began stocking R&B; records for sale to a white audience, and by 1950, the store had become Randy's Record Shop.

John R. (born John Richbourg, August 20, 1910, Manning, South Carolina; died February 15, 1986, Nashville, Tennessee) was an American radio disc jockey who attained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for playing rhythm and blues music on Nashville radio station WLAC. He was also a notable record producer and artist manager. Richbourg was arguably the most popular and charismatic of the four announcers at WLAC who showcased popular African-American music in nightly programs from the late 1940s to the early 1970s. (The other three were Gene Nobles, Herman Grizzard, and Bill "Hoss" Allen.) Later rock music disc jockeys, such as Alan Freed and Wolfman Jack, mimicked Richbourg's practice of using speech that simulated African-American street language of the mid- twentieth century.

Shipped to Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, New York, on March 25, Talkin Man established himself as a potential contender for the May 1995 Kentucky Derby. Ridden by Mike Smith, he scored a seven-length win over Da Hoss in the Gotham Stakes, then, under jockey Shane Sellers, took the Wood Memorial Stakes by seven-and three- quarters-lengths in an effort that The New York Times described as "perhaps the most impressive performance by a 3-year-old colt this year." A week before the Kentucky Derby, owners Helen Stollery and Kinghaven Farms sold a one-third interest in Talkin Man to Vancouver financier Peter Wall. In the Derby, Talkin Man was made the second choice in the betting to the entry of Timber Country and Serena's Song.

At Cory and Crane's expense, various well- known professional and amateur players were brought in to play alongside the Hyannis locals. In 1888, Cory and Crane outfitted the club in "suits which were of the best white flannel and red stockings," and secured the services of pitcher Dick Conway and catcher Mert Hackett, both formerly of the major league Boston Beaneaters. In 1889, Hackett was back, along with Barney Gilligan, who had played for the 1884 major league champion Providence Grays, where he was a teammate of Cape Cod native Ed Conley and batterymate of Baseball Hall of Fame hurler Charles "Old Hoss" Radbourn. Hackett was back again as team captain in 1891, and in the first game of the season, Hyannis hosted a team from Boston that featured Baseball Hall of Famer George Wright at shortstop.

The pitchers who receive the win and the loss are known, collectively, as the pitchers of record. A pitcher who starts a game but leaves without earning either a win or a loss (that is, before either team gains or surrenders the ultimate lead) is said to have received a no decision, regardless of his individual performance. A pitcher's total wins and losses are commonly noted together; for instance, a pitching record of 12–10 indicates 12 wins and 10 losses. In the early years of Major League Baseball before 1900 it was common for an exceptional pitcher to win 30 or more games in one season with Old Hoss Radbourn of the defunct Providence Grays holding the record with 59 wins in 1884. Schlöndorff returned to Hollywood for Palmetto in 1998. In a classic noir plot, the film stars Woody Harrelson as a falsely accused journalist who was sent to jail after uncovering corruption in the local government. After getting out of jail and unable to find work, he encounters Rhea Malroux (Elisabeth Shue), a femme fatale who propositions him to help her extort money from her millionaire husband. The film was not a financial success and has so far been Schlöndorff's last film in the US. Kilroy starred as an MLB rookie during the season for the last-place Baltimore Orioles. He started 68 games, completing 66 of them while throwing 583 innings. Although he had a disappointing record of 29 wins and 34 losses, he set a mark that was unequalled in major league pitching. Kilroy struck out 513 batters that season, the most ever in a single season and far ahead of second-place Charles "Old Hoss" Radbourn's total of 441 in . During this period there were many differences in game play from the modern rules, such as a base on balls being awarded after six balls rather than the modern four, and the pitcher being located 50 feet from home plate rather than the modern 60 feet 6 inches; it was also the last season in which batters could request either a high pitch or a low pitch.

The fourth season of The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy consists of 14 regular episodes, including the one-hour Christmas special, in which Billy and Mandy try to save Santa Claus, who has been turned into a vampire. Characters that feature include Nigel Planter, trying to win the affections of a young witch; Principal Goodvibes, having a disastrous dinner with Billy, Hoss Delgado and Eris; Principal Goodvibes, the friendly but boring principal at Billy and Mandy's school; a supernatural ghostly duck that makes farting noises; Daisy, a chupacabra that steps out from the TV while watching a videotape; and Dracula, the senile king of the vampires, now living in a retirement home. Billy's parents, Harold and Gladys, becoming children again; Nergal, being a sore loser; the ghost of British poet Lord Byron, teaching Billy to be cool; the blue Schlubs (a parody of The Smurfs); and the ancient tentacled demon Cthulhu. This season includes "My Fair Mandy", the only episode in which Mandy willingly smiles, which causes unforeseen and disastrous consequences.

There are several players with a claim to the single-season strikeout record. Among recognized major leagues, Matt Kilroy accumulated the highest single-season total, with 513 strikeouts for the Baltimore Orioles of the American Association in 1886. However, his name does not appear on Major League Baseball's single-season leaders list, since the American Association was independent of the constituent leagues that currently make up Major League Baseball. Several other players with high totals, including 1886 American Association runner-up Toad Ramsey (499) and 1884 Union Association leader Hugh Daily (483), do not appear either. In the National League, Charles "Old Hoss" Radbourn struck out 441 batters for the Providence Grays; however, the Providence franchise folded after the 1885 season and has no successor. Therefore, Major League Baseball recognizes his runner-up from that season, Charlie Buffinton, as the record-holder with 417 strikeouts. In the American League, Ryan leads with 383 strikeouts in 1973.

He assigned the administration and direction of studies in the Lyceum to the monks of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Stephen in Augsburg, founded by King Ludwig I of Bavaria (1834). Petrus von Richarz (1837-55) displayed energy and persistent zeal in promoting the interests of his diocese and the Catholic Church in general, and encouraged the giving of missions to the people, the establishment of many religious institutions for the care of the sick and for educational purposes, and carefully superintended the training of the clergy. The same spirit characterized the labours of the succeeding bishops: Michael von Deinlein (1856-58), who after a short episcopate was raised to the Archbishopric of Bamberg; Pankratius von Dinkel (1858-94), under whom both seminaries and the deaf and dumb asylum were established in Dillingen, and many monastic institutions were founded; Petrus von Hotzl (1895-1902) whose episcopate was marked by the attention paid to social and intellectual pursuits, and the number of missions given among the people as well as by the solemn celebration of the beatification of the pious nun Crescentia Hoss. He was succeeded by Maximilian von Lingg.

After the Albany team folded, Weidman joined the Detroit Wolverines and brought his catcher Sam Trott with him. Weidman and Trott made their debut for Detroit on September 3, 1881, a 4-3 loss against Buffalo. Weidman started 13 games for Detroit in the last month of the season, compiling an 8-5 record and 1.18 ERA in 115 innings pitched. He led the National League in ERA and had the lowest WHIP rating (walks + hits per inning pitched) at 1.043. Weidman had another strong year in 1882, winning 25 games, pitching 411 innings and 43 complete games with a WHIP rating of 1.046 (4th best in the National League). On August 17, 1882, he was the losing pitcher in one of the great pitching duels in baseball history. Monte Ward was the pitcher for the Providence Grays, and he and Weidman held the game scoreless through 17 innings. Weidman allowed only seven hits but lost the game in the 18th inning on a home run by Old Hoss Radbourn, who was playing in right field. While he won 25 games in 1882, Weidman also ranked among the league leaders with 20 losses.

Other characters that have major appearances are Judge Roy Spleen, the judge of the Underworld Court; Miss Butterbean, who is kidnapped by the unfrozen Fred Flintstone (from The Flintstones); General Skarr, who becomes a plant-like creature while tending to his garden; Hoss Delgado and Eris who became a couple, and now break up; Morg, the Martian Grim Reaper, who, together with Grim, plans to conquer Earth; Dracula, who is as cranky as always; Principal Goodvibes, who becomes an gangsta-rapper; Irwin's grandmother, who knows plenty of yo-mamma jokes; and Jeff the Spider, who infects Mandy with "Spider Pox". The episode “Billy and Mandy vs. the Martian” was initially a straight-to-DVD Special but Cartoon Network greenlit the idea to episode of the series.

In the episode "One Way Ticket" of the ABC/Warner Brothers western series, Cheyenne, Philip Carey plays Cole Younger, who in the story line is being transported by railway to the penitentiary in Denver, Colorado. The Clint Walker character Cheyenne Bodie, in this episode a United States marshal, is assigned to guard Younger, but Bodie encounters one distraction after another, including friendship with a widow and her ten-year-old son played by Maureen Leeds and Ronnie Dapo, respectively. Twice Younger escapes, but he ultimately decides based on Bodie's stern advice to accept prison with the hope of a later pardon. Younger in the episode says that Bodie is so convincing that he should have been a "politician or a preacher." In the episode ‘’The Younger Brothers’ Younger Brother’’ (Season 13, Episode 23) of the western television show Bonanza, Cole Younger (Strother Martin) and his brothers are released from prison and again take up a life of crime that has them cross paths with Hoss Cartwright, who is then mistaken for one of the brothers. In 1960, Robert J. Wilke played Younger in the episode "Perilous Passage", the series premiere of the NBC western Overland Trail, starring William Bendix and Doug McClure.

Cartwright's staff assignments include: Director for Force Structure, Resources and Assessment, J-8 the Joint Staff (2002–2004); Directorate for Force Structure, Resources and Assessment, J-8 the Joint Staff (1996–1999); Deputy Aviation Plans, Policy, and Budgets Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps (1993–1994); Assistant Program Manager for Engineering, F/A-18 Naval Air Systems Command (1986–1989). Cartwright was named the Outstanding Carrier Aviator by the Association of Naval Aviation in 1983. He graduated with distinction from the Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell AFB 1986, and received his Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island, 1991.
