The genre of neofolk emerged from industrial music in the 1980s and is musically related to the post-war folk revival and gothic rock. The political scientist Robert A. Saunders calls it a "closely-related cousin" of folk metal, and writes that it partially overlaps with genres such as neoclassical, neo-medieval, folk-pop and pagan metal. Parapatric speciation It was originally assumed that geographic isolation was a necessary precursor to speciation (allopatric speciation). The possibility that clines may be a precursor to speciation was therefore ignored, as they were assumed to be evidence of the fact that in contiguous populations gene flow was too strong a force of homogenisation, and selection too weak a force of differentiation, for speciation to take place. The technical developments of the past 20 years made a restructuring of the fleet necessary in order to stay abreast of the changes in aviation and medical technology. With the new fleet, LAR journeys into a new era of air ambulance services. ;5 June 2012 :Due to the change and homogenisation of the LAR fleet, the Cessna Citation Mustang leaves the fleet. ;13 November 2012 :LAR welcomes its 185.000th member, family Wagner-Da Silva from Useldange, at its base at the Findel airport. About 60% of the Luxembourgish population now support the life-saving air rescue services. René Closter, President of LAR, points out: “LAR only exists because of the support of our members, which are our “raison d’être”.
