"We Be Clubbin'" is the first single from Ice Cube's soundtrack, The Player's Club. The single was minor success, only making it to No. 32 on the Rhythmic Top 40 single chart. Several remixes were made, all featuring DMX and DJ Clark Kent, 2 Clark World Remixes, one with DMX and Sonja Blade and one without Blade and The Eye of the Tiger Remix which sampled Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger". At the end of the song, Ice Cube shouts out his homeboys, homegirls and the club workers.
An extremely muscular man, he can physically intimidate many of his fellow inmates. As one of the leaders of the Homeboys (the black gang in Oz), Adebisi is considered one of the prison's most dangerous inmates, and becomes one of the most recognizable characters on the show. He is well known for his trademark tilted hat, which Akinnuoye-Agbaje suggested was inspired by the "Area Boys" of Lagos, Nigeria. Adebisi is Nigerian - specifically Yoruba - and speaks with a strong accent, but had been in America for about 15 years prior to his incarceration.
An Italian inmate named Salvatore DeSanto is falsely accused, and dies from an overdose of LSD Redding had put in his food. Hill then tells McManus that DeSanto did not give him the drugs and Poet, afraid for his life gets Busmalis to say the Latinos supplied Hill. The Latinos and Homeboys are no longer allied after the accusation is brought up and as a result, Morales now hates the black inmates. Meanwhile, Poet is paid by prison dentist Dr. Tariq Faraj to spread the word about a gum transplant that Aryan Brotherhood inmate James Robson receives.
She replies, "You have no idea." In "Nanny McDead", Castle and Beckett are talking about Castle's marriages and Beckett says she's more of a "one and done" kind of girl instead of Castle's two divorces that have already occurred. In "Hedge Fund Homeboys", for the first time, Beckett starts to soften up for Castle by joking with him about all the schools that he was kicked out of and now that he's become famous, they all claim him as an alumnus. Additionally, Beckett is starting to be able to 'read' Castle to know some of his 'looks'.
In February 1987, the first anniversary of the Philippines' People Power revolution, the song was released in London, England. The lyrics of the song are embedded on a wall of Our Lady of Edsa Shrine, the center of the revolution. In 1998, Legendary OPM group APO and defunct band Eraserheads teamed up for their first "San Miguel Beer" TV commercial "Homeboys." The concept of reviving and modernizing their originals by rock/alternative bands in the 1990s paved the way to two tribute albums by various bands entitled Kami nAPO Muna in 2006 and Kami nAPO Muna Ulit in 2007.
Doug has appeared in a number of films, including Jungle Fever (1991), Hangin' with the Homeboys (1991), Class Act (1992), Cool Runnings (1993), Operation Dumbo Drop (1995), the remake of Disney's That Darn Cat (1997), and Eight Legged Freaks (2002). In 2004, he had a voice role in the animated feature Shark Tale, and also appeared on two episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2004, 2012).
The movie is based on the true story of the first Jamaica national bobsled team trying to make it to the Winter Olympics. Doug is also known for his roles as the ne'er do well Willie Stevens in Hangin' with the Homeboys. For this role, he received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Actor. He played a class comedian in Class Act, a soldier enlisted for an unusual duty in Operation Dumbo Drop, an ill-fated high school student in the horror epic Dr. Giggles, and an FBI agent in the 1997 remake of That Darn Cat.
Adebisi is deposed as the head of the Homeboys and cut out of the drug trade through the help of Nappa's former friends. Another Nigerian Yoruba prisoner, an elderly man named Kipekemie Jara, comes to Oz, and begins to rehabilitate Adebisi, but at the same time the stress of the change brings on schizophrenic visions and severe psychosis. The Italians and the blacks consider Jara a threat, so they kill him. The shock and trauma of the event triggers a nervous breakdown in Adebisi and he is moved to the psych ward, placed in a cell right next to Peter Schibetta.

Nelly starts his first verse seated atop an Ariel Atom with a video girl behind, both wearing Jordans. It then cuts over to the scene where Jeffrey Scott Bailey with a careless attitude walks past with a bike and steps on Nelly's freshly bought Jordans. Nelly then immediately confronts him, with his homeboys co- signing behind him, in a scene reminiscent to that of a cut from the popular Spike Lee film, Do the Right Thing. The video then cuts to Jermaine Dupri doing his verse in his "personal shoe garage" dancing in front of a mirror and trying on different pairs of Jordans.
Law school dean Alvah Case interviews Hill as part of his investigation into the riot. Hill is told that Dobbins has died. When Em City is reopened, he is angered when he is assigned with a prisoner group called the "Others" along with Rebadow, Beecher, and Agamemnon Busmalis instead of the Homeboys, the black gangsters in Oz. He is wary of rooming with Beecher, who recently bit off the tip of the penis of an Aryan inmate. When the judge from Hill's trial is sent to Oz for taking bribes while sentencing inmates, Hill asks black Muslim inmate Kareem Said to help get him freed.
Unlike some other members of the cast, Doohan relished meeting fans and was always ready to entertain with a story or a song. Most of the roles Doohan subsequently played made at least oblique references to his Trek fame and engineering reputation. He was Commander Canarvin in the short- lived Saturday morning live-action kids' show Jason of Star Command, and had a cameo in the made-for-TV movie Knight Rider 2000 as "Jimmy Doohan, the guy who played Scotty on Star Trek". On the television series Homeboys in Outer Space, he was Pippen, a pun on Scotty and basketball star Scottie Pippen.
Let back into Emerald City as one of the Homeboys, Poet is enrolled in the GED program in Oz. Tim McManus, the unit manager of Em City, believes Poet is very talented and gets Muslim leader Kareem Saïd to help publish his work. He dedicates one of these poems to Kareem Said and another to the graduating classmates of his GED class while in prison. Poet does very well in the GED program, finishing at the top of the class even though he is made fun of frequently by Kenny Wangler. As a result, Poet is paroled early and sells several of his poems as a known author that are published in a book 'Unheard America'.
There are many groups of inmates throughout the show, and not everyone within each group survives the show's events. There are the African-American Homeboys (Wangler, Redding, Poet, Keane, Adebisi) and Muslims (Said, Arif, Khan), the Wiseguys (Pancamo, Nappa, Schibetta, Zanghi, Urbano), the Aryan Brotherhood (Schillinger, Robson, Mack), the Latinos of El Norte (Alvarez, Morales, Guerra, Hernandez), the Irish (The O'Reilly brothers, Kirk, Keenan), the Gays (Hanlon, Cramer, Ginzburg), the Bikers (Hoyt, Sands, Burns), the Christians (Cloutier, Coushaine, Cudney) and many other individuals not completely affiliated with one particular group (Rebadow, Busmalis, Keller, Stanislofsky). In contrast to the dangerous criminals, character Tobias Beecher gives a look at a usually law-abiding man who made one fatal drunk- driving mistake.

Basil arrives prepared to join with the Homeboys, the African-American gang within "Emerald City", Oz's experimental cell block. He gets a job as an assistant to Warden Leo Glynn, keeping him informed and having free access to phones and computers; with these, he regularly contacts his partner, Nancy Mears, and his supervisor about what is happening within Oz. Glynn is initially the only person in Oz who knows of Basil's true identity, and he warns him about a similar operation which ended in the murder of the undercover cop, Paul Markstrom. Glynn also warns Basil that he is not allowed to use drugs. Basil tells Glynn that undercover narcs have ways of faking drug addiction.

Former First Lady Laura Bush meets staff and employees at a bakery run by Homeboy Industries on 27 April 2005. These include the Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck, and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. In 2005, former First Lady Laura Bush visited a bakery run by Homeboy Industries to see how it was helping young people involved in gangs. In 2007, an independent documentary titled Father G. and the Homeboys was released about the organization and what it did for ex-gang members.
There Is a swift click. A hidden, dagger-tipped blade darts out like a snake's tongue. Clutched In a fist is a murderous "switchblade ... "Wolff, Lester L., Speech to the House of Representatives, U.S. Congressional Record (House), May 27, 1968 As an anti- violence measure, legislation against switchblade sales or use clearly failed in the United States, as youth street gangs increasingly turned from bats and knives to handguns, MAC-10s, and AK-47s to settle their disputes over territory as well as income from prostitution, extortion, and illicit drug sales.Moore, Joan W., Going Down to the Barrio: Homeboys and Homegirls in Change, Philadelphia PA: Temple University Press, , (1991), pp. 40, 59-60McCorkle, Richard C. and Miethe, Terance D. Turtle, a girl so desperate to belong, acts like a boy to please her gang member brother, Luis Lil Lizard, who is resentful about having a girl for a sibling. After growing up in an abusive home environment, she too joins the McBride Homeboys and then lives on the streets when her brother goes to fight in Vietnam. Ermila, orphaned after her parents ran away, lives with her grandparents who do not understand the rapidly changing times and the younger generation. Her close group of school friends becomes her family, and together they experience the Chicano power movement as well as serious family and relationship problems. Tranquilina, the daughter of missionaries, is optimistic about religion despite witnessing horrible atrocities, like the cruel and revengeful murder of Ermila’s cousin Nacho, committed by the McBride Boys.
Matt Cibula of PopMatters was positive towards the song, admiring Chingy for taking on a rap ballad saying "It’s kind of adorable that he’s talking to her on the phone about politics and life when he can’t be with her, and his voice gets all softened when he talks about her, and his homeboys call him weak when he gives her a kiss on the cheek, but he doesn’t care, because he knows that she’s always just one call away from him, and vice versa." In retrospect, however, the song has not fared as well; music critic Todd in the Shadows placed "One Call Away" at number 6 on his list of the "Top Ten Worst Hit Songs of 2004", citing the rapper's weak flow and poor lyricism in particular as dragging the song down.
This saves the job of Glynn and everyone else on the staff and also guarantees the reopening of Em City. Emerald City is reopened 10 months after the riot under a new deal approved by Glynn and McManus. Ten inmate groups - The Muslims, Aryans, Homeboys, Latinos, Italians, Irish, Bikers, Gays, Christians, and Others - will have four inmates from each group living in Em City and one representative from each group will be present on a Seg Council as a means of figuring out how to make life better for themselves and the staff inside of Oz. McManus starts a GED program which Glynn supports until Governor Devlin cuts it from the state budget. The program has positive results, however, particularly with inmate Arnold "Poet" Jackson, whose talent for poetry brings a good name to Oz, a published book, and an early parole.

In order to achieve this objective, he in conjunction with East Side Spirit and Pride has organized several fundraising events to raise sufficient funds. On March 29, 2012, East Side Spirit and Pride hosted a special dinner at Steven's Steakhouse in Commerce, California, where local celebrities such as Chase Masterson, actress in film Yesterday Was a Lie and author Luis J. Rodriguez, author of Always Running spoke.

Devlin's campaign manager Wendy Schultz says it is a strong reason why Glynn has been chosen, as there is a bad history between Devlin and the State's African American community. Racial issues aside, Schultz states that their office figures that someone as conservative and publicly known as Glynn would be a great candidate for Lieutenant Governor and Glynn then says yes, suspiciously. In Oz, Glynn wants to stop the drug traffic as the Homeboys, Latinos, and Italians (for the time being) are allied, so he gets a narcotics detective Johnny Basil to pose as a Jamaican drug dealer named Desmond Mobay. Glynn is the only one who knows Basil's true identity and informs him of the dangers associated with Oz, as another undercover detective Paul Markstrom died many years earlier in Oz. Throughout the season, Basil is somewhat convincing as Mobay to the point where he ends up snorting a lot of heroin and murdering an inmate to get in the good graces of all three gangster groups.
