Homeboy receives a part of the sales in an agreement with the manufacturers, the distributor and Ralph's, and all of the proceeds go to funding Homeboy services such as tattoo removal and counseling. Most recently, on 13 June 2019, Homeboy Industries celebrated the introduction of Homeboy Salsa and Homeboy Guacamole in forty different Southern California Walmart stores.

The clinic completes about 560 treatments per month. According to the Los Angeles Times, in 2018, Homeboy removed 43,777 tattoos from former gang members trying to turn their lives around. Homeboy Industries faced financial difficulties in 2010, but the organization has reached a strong point in 2011 and is seeing more clients than ever before. New developments in 2010 and 2011 included the launch of Homeboy Tortilla Strips and Salsa in Ralphs stores across California, and the expansion of the Homeboy social enterprises with the Homeboy Diner at City Hall and Homeboy Farmers Markets.

In order to rehabilitate their finances, Homeboy Industries created "Homeboy Groceries" in January 2011, consisting of foods such as chips, salsa, and guacamole. Because of Homeboy's new partnerships and job opportunities that Homeboy Grocery has provided, Homeboy Industries is continuing to operate. The salsas are based on Homegirl Café's Chef Patricia "Pati" Zarate's recipes, but actually are made by El Burrito Food Products Inc., based in the City of Industry.

In 2007, Boyle appeared in an episode of MTV's True Life, which followed an employee of Homeboy Industries named Dennis. In the wake of the 1992 Los Angeles riots, Jobs for a Future and Proyecto Pastoral, a community-organizing project begun at the parish, launched their first social enterprise business, Homeboy Bakery. In the ensuing years, the success of the bakery created the groundwork for additional social enterprise businesses, leading Jobs for a Future to become an independent nonprofit organization, Homeboy Industries. Homeboy Industries is the largest and most successful gang rehabilitation and re-entry program in the world. Homeboy offers an “exit ramp” for those stuck in a cycle of violence and incarceration.

Angel Del Villar II (born September 24, 1980), better known by his stage name Homeboy Sandman, is an American rapper from Elmhurst, Queens, New York, United States.

Former First Lady Laura Bush meets staff and employees at a bakery run by Homeboy Industries on 27 April 2005. Although Boyle and Homeboy Industries have been criticized by the LAPD for glorifying gang life and harboring criminals, the organization has received recognition and praise from other law enforcement agency and government officials in LA. Homeboy member Leroy Tidd notices this and warns Adebisi, who decides to lie low until Saïd actually reveals what he is doing. Querns is fired and Adebisi dies when trying to kill Saïd, so Poet has now become the leader of the Homeboys by default.

MC TXT ("emcee tee ex tee") is an interactive mobile application used in progressive hip-hop performance and entertainment. The audience members direct the venue by text messaging phrases, comments, and shout-outs to the mobile phone number provided on a main projector, where all messages are showcased. Audience members then watch as their messages are displayed amid unique visual backgrounds within minutes. The various emcees associated with MC TXT include Homeboy Sandman, Illspokinn, Folklore, Baldi, and Never Yet Contested.

The film is uncommon among Hollywood productions as it is set in a Hispanic community and features an almost entirely Hispanic cast. Adebisi suggests to current Homeboy leader Jefferson Keane to let him in so that the Homeboys can more easily wipe out the Italians. He helps Adebisi seriously injure Italian Joey D'Angelo in the kitchen and proves that he has a place in the gang.

Poet is now referred to by his birth name of Arnold. Following the orders of Kenny Wangler, their attempt to murder Simon Adebisi is put on hold under orders from Mafia leader Antonio Nappa. Feeling guilty for wasting Said's efforts to have him paroled, a contrite Poet asks Said for permission to begin writing poetry again. Said gives Poet his blessing, but after Muslim Hamid Khan beats Poet's friend and fellow homeboy, Kenny Wangler, in boxing Poet publicly recites a sarcastic poem about Said's new relationship with a white woman.

Young trained under Ray Candy and debuted in 1992 in the Memphis, Tennessee-based United States Wrestling Association (USWA), where he adopted the name New Jack, inspired by the movie New Jack City. Breaking Atoms is the debut album of American/Canadian hip hop group Main Source, released July 23, 1991 on Wild Pitch Records. As a film director, Seresin directed Homeboy, starring and written by Mickey Rourke. In addition to his work in film, Seresin is a winemaker, having founded Seresin Estate in Marlborough in 1992. He is the son of Harry Seresin (1919–1994), who was a key figure in the hospitality and café scene in Wellington, and brother of Ben Seresin, who is also a cinematographer.

Sharkula born 8:05pm August 27, 1973 (other alter egos include Thig, Brian Wharton, Thigamahjigee, Sherlock Homeboy, Dirty Gilligan) is a Chicago-area rapper. His lyrics are known for being scatterbrained, discontinuous, free- associative, non-violent, apolitical and random. He is also known as a flâneur for promoting his music and shows via use of hand-made flyers and stickers scattered around vending boxes in Chicago, and street marketing often with phrases such as "Hey, you like Hip-Hop?". He has appeared on Chic-a-Go-Go and his album Martin Luther King Jr. Whopper With Cheese was voted by readers of The Chicago Reader as one of the 20 best albums of 2004.

He collaborated with Kool AD on his own album with the song, "Warhol's Wig" that received much acclaim. He has also toured with Angelo Moore and collaborated with Ari Up. Creature performed with Homeboy Sandman and Aesop Rock at Irvin Plaza the summer of 2016. Before the digital age of music PR, like Percee-P, Lucky & Sdaerd, L.I.F.E.long, and MC Jin, Creature spent many hours selling his independent music, direct, in front of Fatbeats and at clubs on the streets of New York. Creature created a concert series called The Coffee Grind that featured a mix of under- represented hip hop artists with those more well known like Just Ice, Camp Lo, and Sadat X.

Jarbo has toured the U.S. as headliner and as support for MC Chris, MC Lars, Louis Logic, Homeboy Sandman, Open Mike Eagle, and others. He has performed at the SXSW Music Festival in 2008–2017, the Nerdapalooza festival in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, and San Diego Comic-Con 2011–2015. He embarked upon his first European tour in July 2011, and in December 2011, provided support on the More B.A.R.K. Less Bitin' Tour of Japan with DJ Asu Rock, K-Murdock, and jazz-hop artists Substantial and Marcus D. Jarbo returned to Japan after a successful Kickstarter campaign. Jarbo performed at the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) in 2013.

In 2003, along with Jalin Fuentes, Tyson co-founded Pitbull Productions where Tyson has his own Tiger Tyson Entertainment label; Fuentes coined thug porn or thugporn to represent their niche in the gay porn market, and the product they were to create. Fuentes wanted to avoid the “Hollywood” glamour approach to gay sex in favor of an “urban, gritty, raw and real feel.” He coined ‘thugporn' to capture “this type of urban homeboy sex” with their company. With Tyson's company change he assumed a more sexually aggressive public persona. Tyson states, “I discovered we had the same vision about the adult business, by using only authentic thugs, paying the performers well, and practicing safe sex.” Tyson was a Pitbull Productions headlining star for years.

Loyola students' community service has been regularly featured on the local news programs of the ABC affiliate, Channel 7, including Kool Kids and a fundraising car wash conducted on behalf of Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles, the gang member reformation program founded by Greg Boyle, a Loyola graduate and former faculty member. Center for Council's "Organizational Wellness Project" (formerly the Social Justice Council Project) provides staff at social justice and social service organizations with training to more effectively engage with constituents and provide services, while also helping foster more cooperative and supportive work environments. Current and past participants include: Homeboy Industries, Anti-Recidivism Coalition, The Actors' Gang, TreePeople, Heart of LA, Brotherhood Crusade, Para Los Niños and many other community based organizations. Additional programs include the "School Community Enhancement Project", the "Trainer Leadership Initiative", and "Compassion, Attunement & Resilience Education (CARE) for Healthcare Professionals". Research conducted by University of California and RAND Corporation found that Center for Council's programs result in "significant positive outcomes" involving reductions in aggression, anger and hostility, as well as increases in empathy and resilience.

In 2013, Blu teamed up with infamous Virginia producer Nottz, for the EP “Gods In The Spirit” which featured Homeboy Sandman, Aloe Blacc, Dag Savage, and many others. The EP was followed up in 2016 with another EP, “Titans In The Flesh” which featured Skyzoo, Torae, Bishop Lamont and many others. Both EP’s were released under Coalmine Records, with plans to re-release both EP’s as an LP titled, “Gods In The Spirit, Titans In The Flesh”. Blu also released EP’s with Ray West and Fate, as well as 45’s with Alchemist and The 45 King, and a 12-inch produced by Pete Rock. 2016, Fat Beats released the international collaboration album between French production duo, Union Analogtronics and Blu, “Cheetah In The City”.

In late 2010 inspired by his love for the waiata of renowned composer Hirini Melbourne (Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāti Kahungunu) and the plight of Aotearoa's native birdlife, Benson arranged his own interpretations of Melbourne's bird songs and released his second full- length album, Forest: Songs by Hirini Melbourne. Aside from the taonga puoro of guest artist Richard Nunns, Forest was recorded using only the human voice, and features a close-harmony male vocal quartet, Aotearoa beatbox champion King Homeboy, bird mimic, four-part choir and folk matriarch Vashti Bunyan. Benson performed the critically lauded Forest live on a ten-date marae and community hall tour, Live with the Dawn Chorus, with his all-vocal ensemble of alt-barbershoppers, Australian-based female beatboxer Hopey One, and maverick dance artist Cat Ruka.

As part of EMI's massive Duran Duran reissue plans, a jewel case 3 disc (2CD, 1 DVD) boxset of So Red the Rose was released 12 April 2010. It included the entire album, single mixes, the b-sides "She's Moody and Grey, She's Mean and She's Restless" and "Flame Game (Yo Homeboy Mix)", four versions of non-album track "Say The Word" (a track specially commissioned for the soundtrack of Playing for Keeps), and an unreleased instrumental mix of "The Promise". The DVD contains the original 1987 video release Arcadia. But in 2008 a previously existing, more complete LIMITED EDITION for Japan fan club (23-track digitally) was remastered into 6 CD single set, comprising all the singles ever released for the Arcadia project ('So Red the Rose' album LP), also including 'Say The Word'.

Brown officially founded the Laced clothing company in 2012 with Smolik, but the brand has appeared in public since 2010. Laced is described as "a brand that lives by the wisdom that everyone and everything is connected ITS NOT A RELIGION ITS A REVOLUTION." Following the 2013 decision to relocate the US X Games event to the state of Texas, representatives of the company, such as Brown, Smolik, and skateboarder Steven Cales, donated food and clothing to homeless people in the area nearby the Staples Center venue where the X Games was held for eleven years. Laced worked in partnership with Homeboy Industries, a company that provides opportunities for ex-gang members according to the motto of "Jobs Not Jails," and Warning skateboard shop—both are based in Los Angeles.

On May 18, 2016, while answering fan questions on his Instagram account, Pecknold confirmed that Fleet Foxes were working on new material with drummer and frequent collaborator Neal Morgan, best known for his work with Joanna Newsom and Bill Callahan. Describing Morgan as a "full Fox", Pecknold also admitted he "had to up my songwriting game for homeboy." However, when Pecknold posted a photo of the band minus Morgan on Instagram, he clarified that Morgan was one of three drummers involved in the new album, and that for the time being Fleet Foxes would consist of Pecknold, Skjelset, Wescott, Wargo, and Henderson as a "five-piece 'core band'", but they would still use a drummer for live performances and additional musicians for certain shows. Pecknold also said that the new material would be "a different vibe" compared to Fleet Foxes' previous output. On November 14, 2016, the band confirmed (via their Facebook account) that their new album was nearly complete.

The use of "nigger" non- pejoratively within the black community was documented in the 1912 book The Autobiography of an Ex-Colored Man by James Weldon Johnson, in which he recounted a scene in New York City around the turn of the century: "I noticed that among this class of colored men the word 'nigger' was freely used in about the same sense as the word 'fellow,' and sometimes as a term of almost endearment; but I soon learned that its use was positively and absolutely prohibited to white men." Some African-Americans only consider "nigga" offensive when used by people of other races, seeing its use outside a defined social group as an unwelcome cultural appropriation. Used by blacks, the term may indicate "solidarity or affection", similar to the usage of the words "dude", "homeboy", and "bro". Others consider "nigga" non-offensive except when directed from a non-African-American towards an African-American.
