A department may have one or two HODs. These HODs are responsible for everything that takes place within their departments. They further report to the Executive team, which consist of seven individuals who oversee the co- ordination of the 18 departments. These Executives then report to the Vice President and President of Sympulse, who are in-charge of the "whole picture".

Puttonyos is a unit for the level of sugar in Hungarian Tokaji (or tokay) and Slovak Tokaj dessert wine. It is traditionally measured by the number of hods of sweet botrytised or nobly rotted grapes (known as Aszú) added to a barrel of wine, but is now measured in grams of residual sugar. The puttony was actually the 25 kg basket or hod of Aszú grapes, and the more added to the barrel of wine, the sweeter the eventual wine. Measurement ranges from 3 to 6 Puttonyos.

Santals use bitlaha as a way to outcast those who have sexually misbehaved. Santals believe that exposing these culprits to corruption and public ridicule will make individuals stray from sexual misbehaving. “The tribe asserts itself as the supreme body regulating the conduct of its members”,Von Furer Haimendorf 336 which motivates individuals to behave properly and not shame their Hods.

The pilots recovered from the dive and seven of the nine crewmen parachuted. The pilot was observed in the nose of the airplane hooking on his parachute, with Castle still at the controls, when the fuel tank in the burning right wing exploded, putting the B-17 into a spin from which it did not recover, crashing near Hods, Belgium. Of the nine crewmen, five survived the crash. Frederick W. Castle was interred at the American Cemetery and Memorial at Henri-Chapelle, province of Liège, Belgium.

The Naval Air Arm at PNS Mehran is headed by Commander Naval Aviation (COMNAV). Under COMNAV, there are four Head of Departments (HODs) namely Commander Air (Cdr Air), Commander Air Engineering Department (Cdr AED), Commanding Officer MEHRAN (CO MEH) and Officer Commanding Naval Aviation Training School (OC NATS). There are six squadrons under Cdr Air namely P3C Squadron (28 Sqn), Hawker / ATR Squadron (29 Sqn), Fokker Squadron (27 Sqn), Seaking Squadron (111 Sqn), Z9EC Squadron (222 Sqn) Alouette Squadron (333 Sqn). All the operational/flying activities of the naval base are controlled by Cdr Air through the Officer Commanding (OC) of each Squadron.

Heritage Open Days (also known as HODs) is an annual celebration of England's architecture and culture that allows visitors free access to historical landmarks that are either not usually open to the public, would normally charge an entrance fee, or that are always free to visitors and always open to the public. It also includes tours, events and activities related to architecture and culture. Heritage Open Days is England's largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,500 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers. Heritage Open Days 2018 ran from 6-9 and 13-16 September.

Typical areas of application were harbours, mines, and, in particular, building sites where the treadwheel crane played a pivotal role in the construction of the lofty Gothic cathedrals. Nevertheless, both archival and pictorial sources of the time suggest that newly introduced machines like treadwheels or wheelbarrows did not completely replace more labor-intensive methods like ladders, hods and handbarrows. Rather, old and new machinery continued to coexist on medieval construction sites and harbours. Apart from treadwheels, medieval depictions also show cranes to be powered manually by windlasses with radiating spokes, cranks and by the 15th century also by windlasses shaped like a ship's wheel.

The Corporation has a three-tier system of management which is, Depot, Division and Corporate. The entire operational network of the Corporation is carried out through its two Divisional headquarters – one located at Durgapur and other at Belghoria. At the Corporate level, the Deputy Managing Director, Chief Accounts Officers and HODs of other discipline assist the Managing Director. At Divisional level, the office is headed by Divisional Managers of the respective Divisions who is assisted by Works Manager or Works In-charge on the technical site, Traffic Manager for traffic and operation, Sr. Administrative Officer and other officers for general administration, Dy. Chief Accounts Officer for accounts matter.

In 1902, Compton skipped a grade and went into Wooster University's preparatory department for the last two years of high school.
