Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor), who has just regained her status as landlady of The Queen Victoria public house, decides to throw a wedding reception for Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) and Ryan Malloy (Neil McDermott) to let everyone know the pub is hers again. Peggy's friend Pat Evans (Pam St Clement) arranges a hen party for Janine at the R&R; nightclub, but Janine feels betrayed by Pat when Peggy reveals that she said Janine's marriage would not last. Janine meets a man named Richard Monroe (Andrew Hall), who settles her bill. Impressed by his car, Janine leaves with him.

Prue convinces Harlow to be there at her wedding, but while planning the hen party, Harlow discovers an email from the Restoration Order to her mother and she realises that Prue lied about leaving the Order. On the day of Kirsty and Tyrone's stag- do/hen party, Kirsty finds Tyrone's secret phone with messages that detail Tyrone's plan for parental responsibility. In revenge, she invites Fiz to the wedding and promptly reveals their affair to the congregation before refusing to marry Tyrone.

Carl falls over before he is hit over the head and killed by an unknown assailant. A few weeks later, Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer), his wife Lily Drinkwell (Lauren McQueen) and Romeo Quinn (Owen Warner) find Carl's body in the woods. As the McQueens arrive at the airport after Mercedes’ hen party, the police arrest Mercedes for Carl’s murder, shocking the rest of the McQueens. In November, Carl’s killer was revealed to be Breda McQueen (Moya Brady).

Eva desperately tries to deny it, but eventually admits that she found out about the affair months ago. Despite her attempts to shame him and Maria, Aidan is disgusted with her deception and storms out of the wedding ceremony.
